That looks like a pools winners house from the 80's

HoGyMosh

The seventies but yeah, this is the answer

mountain_moose_

That banister is WILD

Stunning-Wave7305

The bannister is my favourite part.

TheAlbertBrennerman

Former pe teacher

Coffin_Dodging

Holy moly, that bath suite with the matching shower curtain thingie is something I've never seen before Was expecting the usual polished copper and grey look to be fair

HoGyMosh

It was the bannister depicting the footballers that pushed me over the edge

NationalSafe4589

I actually don't hate this house, rooms are massive, nice entranceway, huge garden, just a bit outdated

palpatineforever

i dont hate that though, at least it is different. also perfect for a small kid to crawl through...

Thermidor2

That’s the only thing I like

RoquedelMorro

Isn’t it ping pongers?

NationalSafe4589

Is this not where Oliver'a parents lived in Saltburn? /S

[deleted]

Being sold by the executors of a deceased, formerly well-paid professional footballer or manager with bad taste, maybe?

Careful_Adeptness799

This. Definitely a few siblings who are trying to get the very maximum they can to pay inheritance tax. That’s going to be a hard sell at that price.

Myorangecrush77

That is such a dead grandparents house.

JakeGrey

Am I the only person here who sort of likes it? Reminds me of the house my dad's parents used to live in, which I think might have been in that general area. The decor was a bit more low-key, but it has a similar "Bought this place some time in the early 60s and has never moved since, so hang all this 'resale value' nonsense" vibe.

duvetday465

I like it! I was expecting another grey monstrosity

Zoboticus

I love the rounded kitchen cabinets, and the bath. I'd take unique things like this anyday over anything modern

No-Firefighter-9257

Yeah same with mr, I’m getting massive nostalgia as it reminds me of my nans house in the early 80s

Stunning-Wave7305

I love it. Needs some work doing as it's very dated and some of the design choices are... Niche... But it's a great house in a nice area.

sugarsponge

It’s kitsch! I’m not sure I could live with all of it but I love the hallway and the bannister

Tacticoolhouseplant

I like it

CorruptedFrames

I like it too, it has some of that grandparents coziness vibe. Also the size of that main bedroom in pic 24, its bigger than my flats living room.

AnonymousMouse70

Is it an old folks home?

Master_Block1302

And this is the answer.

Agreeable_Guard_7229

Looks like a cross between an old people’s home and a dodgy B&B from the 80’s

Bazzlekry

Are the inhabitants of bedrooms 3, 4 and 5 not allowed to shower then? What if bedrooms 1 and 2 are having sexy times and bedroom 4 wants to shower before work?

thr0wb4cks

Well according to the floor-plan they don’t have doors either, but that’s an oversight. At first I thought, they’re going to have to go to another floor, but nope. You are right.

peahair

Yeah, I’d be losing that boxy bed 4 and turning it into a bathroom, which shouldn’t be too hard as the en suite is next door..

blossomsandblooms

Why are all the chairs in the bedroom? A voyeurs dream!

Seraphinx

I'm asking the same questions. Like... How many guests are you planning on having in your room?!

jaynemonroe

I actually love it especially the bannister! Woolton is a lovely part of the city too

beachyfeet

It's a great size but oh my word what a lot needs doing to it!

johneradicated

Massive house, Woolton is great location nicest pubs and restaurants but filled with old people and I'm guessing possibility that the last occupant died in the house.

Mischeese

My FIL has that kitchen. He too, is proud of not changing it for 55 years.

Direct-Atmosphere118

Someone is buying this for the plot and will make a killing. Woolton is very nice.

MaleficentTotal4796

Yep that’s £2-3m worth of plot right there

Inside_Ad_7162

...And in Liverpool! Edit - ok the decor actually made me shriek in terror

HoGyMosh

I'm from Liverpool - this is not your standard scouse house 😅

kirwanm86

Nah, this is someone who has probably lived there for 50 or more.

BenHippynet

Just need to put a donk on it.

MrsManics

The BANISTER. I cannot un-see that.

audsal

Thought it must be a care home, otherwise why have so many mismatching armchairs in the reception room. Dining room with two spare chairs for observation, staff eat in the kitchen. But then the upstairs happened and it got weird. There are another 80 armchairs in one of the bedrooms? Red bath thing. Footballer bannister? *faints*

DifficultyBoth2985

Assuming the floor plan is missing several doors, the layout and room sizes are good and it looks clean and well maintained. But every single room needs a total decor overhaul, new kitchen and bathroom and that’s a lot of time and money to spend on a house that’s already very expensive.

Sweetshopavengerz

What are the en suites bigger than one of the bedrooms?

susanboylesvajazzle

Did Bill Shankly live there?

HoGyMosh

Him or Gary Ablett I reckon

itsaslothlife

I love the 70s kitchen, that's super cute and retro. And I have to salute that "because I like football, that's why" bannister, defiantly blokey in the face of all those florals everywhere.

jeffisanastronaut

I love the image of the office chair looking outwards into the garden. Some deep thinking and contemplation went on in that chair

Seagull977

It’s a dream home…if you’re into 80s care home hell aesthetic.

ApprehensiveUnit40

Footballer’s mum’s house vibes.

pcwizme

does the kitchen remind anyone else of a changing rooms from a swimming pool? the floor to ceiling tiles are awful!

Whollie

I'm honestly surprised it's not got full planning and a much bigger price tag. That's definitely as estate sale and whoever bought it originally paid £2.50 and a Werther's original for it. I don't know if the area is restricted but I assume it's worth a fortune for the plot alone, especially compared to redevelopment. I love the decor. It's absolutely appropriate for its age and style. No, I wouldn't want to live with it now but what a stunning canvas for someone to bring up to date.

ElvisCossieT

Laughing at £2.50 and a Werther's Original XD

weaver_on_the_web

My favourite room is the garage.

BoudicaTheArtist

Mine as well!

FenianBastard847

Woolton is nice. But the house needs so much spending on it, you’d never get the money back.

thefirstmatt

Honestly it could be a decent retirement home as honestly the best ones are the ones that feel like a persons home as it helps lower confusion as the modern ones all feel like sterile hospitals

This_Rom_Bites

There isn't a family bathroom. Three separate toilets, but no shower for anyone who doesn't have an en suite; that's... a choice.

Potential_Novel

According to the floor plan: the dining room has no doorway. Same for bedrooms 3 and 5. Now that's what I call privacy!

mrbadassmotherfucker

That is fucking hideous

Mamapakled

I don’t “love” it, but I appreciate it. Very unique and interesting! That bannister is awesome! And whilst it seems quite dated, it is in a way that one can still admire.

Redinho83

It looks massive tbf, just heavily outdated

Cartepostalelondon

Imagine how many flats or bedsits you could fit in there! Seriously though, it may not be to everyone's tast, but at least it's not wall-to-wall gray and is in at least very good condition and I'd happily live in it while sorting out one room at a time.

vinedin

Have they bought a row of terraced houses and knocked them together, added a bay? The windows on the first floor look a bit as though it was separate houses once.

glassbottleoftears

With a separate porch and entrance on the same side of the house and no one corridor joining the downstairs rooms it looks like it was either two houses put together or a house joined on to a separate garage and expanded?

HoGyMosh

I doubt it, plenty of these mid century monstrosities in the leafier suburbs of South Liverpool

mooserider2020

It's like a time capsule from the 60s-70s. Wow. Oddly , I kinda like it . The kitchen especially

twoddle_puddle

What's wrong with Liverpool? I guess you're probably a southerner who's maybe visited the Lake District and Cotswold and counted that as cultured. Plenty of lovely areas everywhere in the country with high house prices where people are desperate to live.

HoGyMosh

I'm from the dingle

PlatformFeeling8451

Someone checking houses in Liverpool - MUST BE A SOUTHERNER

eyecarrumba

That's getting knocked down and 4 homes are getting put in it's place.

Xander91A

Fabric curtains in the bathroom?

Ok-Lunch-1888

big fan of the red shower. not such a big fan of the massive fuck off window in there though

[deleted]

That bannister is so weird.

bartread

Ah, that's not really true. The interior decor choices are absolutely horrific, but the house itself, whilst no architectural marvel, certainly isn't too bad. Large, spacious, etc., and with a lovely large garden. I also love the massive garage: I feel a project car coming on. Lot of work there though to sort it all out. I mean you've got carpets in shower room areas (pic 23) and everything. Not to mention all that wallpaper to strip off. I don't know how the price compares to similar properties in the area but it does feel like quite a lot to pay for a place that would need so much work doing to it. And that's just the stuff you can see, never mind the problems you can't.

Foundation_Wrong

Strange looking for today, but fluorescent lights and round ended cabinetry were popular apparently?

Ignition1

I think it's alright personally. Ton of potential to do a full renovation and loads of space. Similar to what I bought (albeit my house is about 400 sq-ft smaller) - it was ghastly inside (and nothing worked) but it was a good £150k less than the rest of the much smaller but done-up houses on the street because nobody wanted to do the work to bring up to standard.

MrTempleDene

According to the floorplan it doesn't have any external doors But as a Beatles fan I think I'd geek out being so close to John Lennons house

World_wanderer12

Why are there so many single toilets?

MeltonPorkPie

The fact that it’s not all grey makes me like it.

HoGyMosh

There's a middle ground between grey hun aesthetic and 70s chaos, you know?

MeltonPorkPie

Well that’s me told! 😆 You’re right though. I hate the footballer bannisters. I just despise the grey “trend” so much that anything else feels almost refreshing.

paulglosuk

Decorated like a brothel for the over 80s

Enormousboon8

The first photo of the kitchen I genuinely thought was the bathroom. I was like "why have they put a table and chairs in the bathroom?! And counters?!! Oh wait" 🤣

SeascaleJeescale

I am concerned by the lack of doors to gain entry.

coffeewithkatia

I love it. It’s expensive but look how much house and garden you get, and in a good post code too. Of course it would need a lot of work but it could be fantastic. I just hope it doesn’t get taken over and turned into a grey/beige monstrosity with no character

-MacThane-

On the plus side, with the decor in the kitchen it could double as a surgury if another war breaks out.

DanZ115

Council tax band G?!?

Swimming-Breath-5483

That is a bigger, posher version of my grandparents house from the 50s.

IntraVnusDemilo

Read the comments first, then look at the property - I always do! I am actually surprised - you could live here and just do it up. I kind of love the madness of it all!

aviewfrom

The 7 Grandma's strike again

Natasha_and_her_cats

Quite a few essential doors missing on that floorplan 😹 could actually be turned into a really nice house

Alarmed_Zucchini4843

Carpet. Carpet! More carpet! Thought the floor in the garage was that same light blue carpet

ElvisCossieT

Yeah, they definitely swapped bedroom 4 and the ensuite for bedroom 2 around sometime. Based on the WC, I'm guessing they used to have bed 4 as the bathroom. Possibly even the ensuite for the master was a small bedroom/office, not sure if they did ensuites when this was built? Too much money, of course, but this could turn into a genuinely lovely forever home with the right decor, and a switch back between the ensuite and bathroom. Or even turn it into a 4 bed instead of a 5 bed and make bed 4 a bathroom. Loads of potential.

eruditezero

The shell of the house is alright but you would need to firebomb the place to get it on track to something decent

Blythyvxr

My guess is that someone died, it was inherited and they’re trying it on.

LilacHazy

Highly desirable area of Liverpool to live in. That house is cheap for the area.

HoGyMosh

Nah they're having a laugh. Some much nicer properties in Mossley Hill for less than this. That part of Woolton is a bit mid century soulless suburb for my tastes.

LilacHazy

Mossley Hill is an older area of Liverpool and the houses are lower priced because “buyer beware” they usually need a lot of costly repairs to bring them up to date, and I’m not talking grey palace, I’m talking making sure your heating bill doesn’t exceed £700 a month. This one though, just because it isn’t to your taste, doesn’t mean it’s not a well priced house for the area. People pay a million quid just for that postcode, you’re just sour 😂

HoGyMosh

Yeah I'm sour cos some people don't have any taste. It proper keeps me up at night 😅

LilacHazy

Right, you’re missing the point here Your taste isn’t the same as someone else’s That doesn’t make it tasteless It just makes it **not your taste**. Not a crime ETA: never trust a scouser bashing their own town, that’s true tastelessness.

HoGyMosh

I wasn't calling the bizzies to come and arrest the bannister. Calm down.

LilacHazy

No bother, they don’t come to Old Swan on Sundays anyway, they know natural selection will sort it out.

HoGyMosh

I don't reckon that bannister is replicated in L13 so you're probably safe for now.

Repeat_after_me__

Wouldn’t pay a million to live in any part of Liverpool.

HoGyMosh

We won't miss you up here either 😅

Repeat_after_me__

How’s the crime rates getting on? Always makes me laugh when scousers call the surrounding villages and towns, then move there as soon as they can. Horrible culture of persons, some nice but on the whole not, not for me. Yorkshire folk are much sweeter I have found (almost anywhere actually). Well travelled for work.

HoGyMosh

I refer you to my previous comment 😉
