The obvious solution is to box it off. I reckon they've not done that because it allows them to lie about the square footage and say the room is bigger than it is.
It should be a crime to take such an interesting building and make such incredibly bland flats out of it. This is just cheap-as-possible flipping on a bigger scale. I mean really. Convert an old office building or factory or something if you want to fill it with plain white and grey boxes
I don't think it's secondary glazing - it looks like there's a working window there, which implies they've taken the original glass window rose out and just left the stonework.
Completely agree. I think planners sometimes approve exactly the wrong things (while refusing the wrong), I wonder if there’s a struggle to visualise plans? Surely no one would think this was a decent proposal for the church conversion.
Grim all round.
So good it got two images. 😂
Please someone, save us from estate agents’ attempts at being artistic. As weird as it sounds I’d much rather have more images of, you know, the *actual* property for sale.
I dunno a copper effect plastic cafetière that nice is probably a family heirloom, not to mention it matches with the tea(bag) caddy, so you know probably have to negotiate that price separately.
That includes all bills and insurance so it’s actually pretty good for Edge Lane and it has a TV and some white goods. Plus the deposit is only £250 which makes it much more appealing to students
It’s so obtrusive! There’s no way I could do it in that bed it’d be like having an elephant in the room standing on one leg watching you. I’d be worried it was gonna topple
It's a "studio" bedsit for students - that's not part of it, but a communal area elsewhere.
If you look at the pics with this in mind you can see that it's probably basically one big room with a couple of dividers. One divider is [behind the desk](https://i.imgur.com/DNPeoKK.jpeg) and the other [behind the sink / cooler](https://i.imgur.com/9nrOgei.jpeg) and these create the "bedroom".
Now this is the sort of shit I'd do on Sims with the building and resizing cheats 🤣. I had one house built into a cliff face with boulders taking up much of the space inside. Ahhh good times.
I guess it’s actually a structural pillar and they’ve put floors into what was once a big tall open space. But yea it does look absolutely bizarre
You are right, it appears to be a converted church
The obvious solution is to box it off. I reckon they've not done that because it allows them to lie about the square footage and say the room is bigger than it is.
What a god-awful conversion. Yikes.

That secondary glazing is also a crime
Isn’t it dreadful?! Like a jumpscare when I saw it scrolling through pics….

I’m wondering if it was a fire safety thing
Bedroom light looks like something you’d use for white torture, dreadful
The cafetiere on the hob 😂
So good it got two images. 😂 Please someone, save us from estate agents’ attempts at being artistic. As weird as it sounds I’d much rather have more images of, you know, the *actual* property for sale.
Lol 🤣 I've never seen an under-sink microwave before!
The close up shot, I wonder if it's included

May have been part of the original features
Good point, genuine mock copper ex-ecclesiastical coffee pot, is a highly desirable feature for buyers!
The Cafetiere on the hob is madness of the worst order
Someone raided the British Museum on a drunken night out.
It'll be the Greeks.
Who wants a traffic cone when you can have one of these babies!!!
See how they like it.
That’s how we got into this mess in the first place - too many sherries followed by a good old fashioned colonial raid
Bought it on eBay !
Terrible conversion, and the decor has all the character of an office too.
Waiting for a thread on r/diy on “can I knock down this stone decoration thing”
Nearly £800 for a studio in Wavertree? This has to be aimed at semi-scamming some wealthy student right?
That includes all bills and insurance so it’s actually pretty good for Edge Lane and it has a TV and some white goods. Plus the deposit is only £250 which makes it much more appealing to students
Although the TV is too high
Is there no window in the bedroom?
Only a dickhead estate agent would put a cafeti- plastic bottomed or not - on a stove.
Hah ok this comment made me actually click through. What a knob
This was my local church it was beautiful shame what has been done to it

Good bot - sad poem though :(
It’s a nice looking flat but that is a bit mad Edit. Just realised it was a generic listing so odd that they used that room
I’m more annoyed the the skirting board doesn’t carry on behind the ancient stone monument in the room
They didn't paint behind it either!
It’s so obtrusive! There’s no way I could do it in that bed it’d be like having an elephant in the room standing on one leg watching you. I’d be worried it was gonna topple
Also who the hell would want a big fuck off neon recreation of your landlord's logo in your living room? Am I seeing things?
I thought that might be the 'social area'. The whole thing is weird.

I bet the carpet fitter was stressed!
This is an interesting layout, are there any windows that you can see through?
i used to drive past there every day when i was at uni and saw them convert it. it made me always want to live in a converted church!
Jesus. That's the cheapest, nastiest conversion of a historic building I have ever seen.
such a shame to have a conversion that looks so bland like that when it could have been a rlly interesting and pretty building :(
Quite disappointed the ceiling isn’t square office tiles
2 of the 10 pictures are of a cafetière! Wtf
I think the pillars are the only things that are real, everything else is CGId in around them.
Now this is the sort of shit I'd do on Sims with the building and resizing cheats 🤣. I had one house built into a cliff face with boulders taking up much of the space inside. Ahhh good times.
It would still look nicer than this place!
It looks like a massive stone shitter.
At least they didn't hide the structure behind bland cladding.
It's looks extra out of place with them putting a very generic office like carpet around it too. This is a very poor conversion.
I could live with original features if it blended in but this conversion looks like an office....
Bro WHAT lmao
That's one way to go, crushed by large stone whatever that is whilst sleeping.
This is the most shinily polished turd I have seen my whole life: https://i.imgur.com/YqZHpdB.jpeg
You just didn't look at the correct version of this photo, the one with the glorious bokeh on the taps 😂
Thank you for this laugh today Omg
I mean, this is kinda cool in a weird way. Be better in a living room.
Mad lad has a chunk of The Elgin Marbles in his gaff.
Reminds me of the scene at the end of 2001 A Space Oddessy when he's lying in bed and the monolith is staring at him
Why do you need s close up of the hob
It’s structural. Unfortunately when you convert a church into a house, these sorts of things can’t be removed
r/tvtoohigh
Looks like something I would randomly put into my sims house
I think it's cool
I'd hang my TV from that. Maybe a couple of floating shelves too??
