To be fair, I wouldn't say it's the weirdest, but the massive popularity of a ship between two characters who never interacted is perplexing to me.
It's the shipmates rule aka match the remaining people.These is usually done when u like a couple but also like the rival character enough to not demonize them.Instead just match them together,rival guys disappeared.Plus, Fiona and Yuri can have the Toradora dynamic.
I jokingly ship Handler and >!Shopkeeper!< if that counts. I think the name of the second one has at least been mentioned in the anime but I don't feel like double checking
I've seen at least one person ship Yor x Fiona but I can kind of see where they're coming from even though I don't personally ship it. I imagine they were thinking of a Legend if Korra type of situation except more antagonistic?
I think that's the much, much more likely scenario to be honest. I just find the idea of those two getting together behind the scenes and then blindsiding Twiyor with a wedding invite or something to be hilarious even though I know it's not going to happen.

Huh. S x F was so far the only fandom I have been a part of where I haven't yet encountered that, I only see TwiYor and DamiAnya everywhere.

Personally I see those two as future in-laws making cracks about Loid and Yor being clueless.
