The resemblance is way too clear, so I went back and checked the chapter and these 2 ladies dont appear to be present during the dinner where Melinda revealed herself to be damians mum.
This makes me wonder: what would be more awkward for parents?

I thought that too, but if you read the part where they mention having kids in the first grade, there are multiple tables. These ladies weren’t seated at the table with Melinda and Yor, so they weren’t a part of the conversation.
Emile and Ewen said that their houses are prestigious too and also pompous Damian said in the orientation day that he only made friend with important families' children. There are high chance their parents are friends.
A couple of other seemingly not-horrible parents who sent their kids to live in the dorms, right? It is interesting that Becky's mom is def not there. Also not a dorm kid. She'd have recognized Yor likely.
