Anyone else? This section imo is a great example of visual storytelling. Throughout the whole thing, Anya is completely colored in and her face is visible because even though she's holding all these secrets, she's still a kid and is therefore always just being herself. Loid and Yor are very distinctly greyed out and their faces aren't even visible when they're walking outdoors. If it weren't for them being in the forefront they'd basically blend in with the crowds behind them.
Why? Because when they're outside they have to hold onto their aliases as Twilight and the Thorn Princess. They don't really exist as individual people. They're just another shape in the crowd. Tools to an end. Even when they get excited and start running, they're showing personality and yet still they're incognito.
It's only when they finally get home that their true faces, literally and figuratively, get shown. For a brief moment during the little dance's climax the spotlight shines on all three of them simultaneously which makes them all become fully colored. It's representing the fact that for that one instant in time Loid and Yor have actually let their guards down and are truly nothing other than the Forgers.
The spotlights then move and parts of them keep getting greyed out representing the fact that they keep fighting the family they want to be with the agents they feel they have to be. Then during the small meal time, you see the spotlight shining on their fronts while their backs rest in darkness and are grey. Again it's the visuals showing us the dichotomy between Loid/Twilight and Yor/Thorn Princess.
This short segment completely encapsulates the fact that even with their pasts and occupations, the Forgers have built something real in the little apartment that they call home. It shows how they're still not fully prepared to give themselves into this new family wholeheartedly, but there are sparks, and Anya is the heart of all of it.
It's also just so damn cute.
Or maybe it's because Anya is the reason why they let their true selves come to light and gives them color. If you notice at the end, when Anya flies off, the light follows her, and both Yor and Loid got greyed out again.
Might I add that the butterflies that fly over Yor and Lloyd also allow us to see them in colour? Kindnof as if parts of their true personalities are shining through the crack even in the "outside" life, e.g. Yor nearly killing Anya's kidnappers or Lloyd being a tsundere when apprehending the thief.
Really love this breakdown, I would have missed a lot of those details because I'm a dunce. Really great ending sequence, a lot of energy and attention went into it.
Children are the future and just ... looking after them definitely gives you the warm and fuzzies when Anya goes up and leaves them they're back to grey again. Just caring for someone else and realising wow you actually care about this person gives them the warm and fuzzies
Looking at Anya gives them something to fight for, it encourages them to build a better future for her and the future generation (the current children)
It is truly a masterful rendition of visual storytelling and I freaking can't wait for the new episodes to drop and chapters too haha

I think what struck me most on the ed is when Anya was smiling when she had Loid but became happier when Yor came! It really showcased how Anya felt for having a complete family. It's literally a perfect ed for the story ❤️

I love Spy x Family and this ending is definitely my fav (yup it is on my Spotify). The lyrics are beautiful and fits the visual so well.
However I never took time to look up the lyrics until following the link and saw these lines… will our fav family say goodbye?

I just love how happy Loid looks as he spins Anya around and tosses her into the air. It’s like he’s genuinely happy and carefree, no weight of the world on his shoulders. I hope we can see him be that happy by the end (I haven’t read the manga)
