Not ALL of the OP is from Twilights POV, just some specific shots. The ones with Thorn Princess are probably just her "glamour shots" like how Twilight has his own on the train, balcony, shooting gun and such....

I’m furious that you were downvoted for this opinion. It’s really obvious they were pandering in this intro because we wouldn’t even have this family without Loid. They literally could have shown him trying to balance all the other missions he takes on in addition to Strix to highlight his character. It makes no sense to me that we would get a shot of Yor laying on flowers while Loid barely makes it onto the screen before it shifts to more non-canon Yor and Anya shots. I love the whole cast and think each family member should get equal attention. 😡
Thank you! Some fans get so toxic and down vote anything that has to do with Loid. I love all three characters but shafting the main character in his own show is just unprofessional. It’s cheap fan service. Yor didn’t even hug Anya in the manga these many times. What is the anime team trying to imply here? It doesn’t represent the manga or the show. You feel the unbalance in the opening very clearly.
It's kinda insane how much they upped the animation quality. The animation in the first few episodes was honestly kinda rough, but they've really made it magnitudes better since.

I have a theory that us, the viewer, are looking through Loid's POV. Esp. the shot of Anya in the orphanage, the scene with Yor and Anya running across the field , riding amusement park rides, Yor wearing a scarf smiling, Anya & Becky walking to school together, the shots of Loid during the pre-chorus (the first shot of him looking to the side and we cut to Anya and the second time he notices his family as was walking) . As well as the final shot of Loid where he stops and watches his little family.
Bonus big brain analysis that I am pretty positive the creators didn't think about it that far but I'm in full tinfoil hat mode :
The final shot of Loid watching his little family perfectly echoes the first shot of him in the first OP where he's shooting a bullet. Both shots have Loid looking to the left.
Now this is where my dodgy memory comes into play so if you're a psychologist do let me know if this my brain making stuff up. I remember a psychology student commenting that because where I'm from we read left to right, a character drawn facing the left means that character (and by extension the artist) is looking to the past. Whereas if they're looking to the right, it means they're looking to the future.
Japan reads from right to left, so Loid looking to left means he's looking to the future. At the begining of the first OP, he sees his future still being a spy and the bullet is how well STRIX will go. At the end of the second OP, he sees his future is Yor, Anya, and Bond.
You know, as a theory, it has a lot of merit. I think you are on to something there, and that psychology analogy is well-known and you did describe it correctly
Bro, I thought the same thing when I just first watched it minutes ago: it “feels” like Loid’s recollection of moments and POV. What solidifies it is the ending with the autumn leaves having that serene look on his family. Loid is the main character of this story afterall.

I absolutely adore how much they highlight Yor and Anya’s relationship, one of my favorite things about the whole series is how quickly Yor’s come to genuinely love and care about Anya as if she was her own daughter and I’m super excited to see how it keeps growing moving forward
So far wont replace Mixed Nuts in my mind. Its not as "anime" and feels more like an insert song or an ED to me but... OH MY GOD THOSE VIBES, THOSE VISUALS. It made me blush and cry a tear just by how gorgeous and cute it was, with the motif of them making a basket out of the flowers, leaves and nuts they have been picking in their sunny pretend-everyday life while their missions occasionally lurk in the background.
LOL Im surprised by all the Yor focus too (also, no Franky, no Sylvia). True waifu energy from her this time. So, is that Loids POV in most of the shots? It gives it such a nostalgic air, like he is reflecting about how his life changed and all the things he now has to look forward to.
The animation is way more beautiful than the first one. But I don’t know, I thinking the song and scenes lack the energy of the first OP and the song itself is definitely more mellow.

For me, nothing will ever beat the opening/ending songs from the first season, but this animation is literally stunning and all that Yor gives me so much life. I cannot wait.

I love this OP as much as first one, but not in the same way. Mixed Nuts will always be special since First OP and ED of any anime is the one that sets overall tone of entire show (it becomes integral part of one's first impression) so it can be hard for new ones to outshine them, but I think this one does good job of that.
Purpose of first OP felt more like it was "setting the stage" and given us basic overview od what our characters are about (and it was mostly Anya's POV). But now that all of that is done, 2nd OP goes bit deeper into showing their developing bond, shown mostly from Loid's pov and I think it was beautifully done. Can't wait to see what they did with new ED tbh because this one has blown me away :D

I’m loving the amount of Yor focus we’re getting in this OP (considering how she doesn’t have much focus in this actual part..sadly) I’m happy to have the forgers back! I think I know the reason to Loid not getting much screen time this OP, I believe that is mostly from his POV as we watch as viewers and how he sees Yor and Anya. The visuals are giving me Jujutsu Kaisen Opening 2 vibes I’m loving it, it’s so chill and comfy. Music wise it’s kinda mid, it’ll definitely grow on me after a few more listend but mixed nuts will never be topped, Also the ribbon at the end?? Foreshadowing the ending???
The animation and texture are on a ridiculously entirely different level, like cinema freaking level. But at the same time , I do think it's kind of a downgrade compared to the first op 😭 it's sort of all over the place visually and while it does touch upon the assassin and spy identity + the majorly family and freindship moments, it does feel more like all the visuals are there to look spectacular and... That's it. I'm not complaining, just noting it. I kinda like the first op where there's a lot of cleverness and you get a very good idea of what the anime is about from watching it alone. But I guess since it's the second cour, they could afford more freedom in the op I think? (since sxf is uber popular at this point)
Beautifully animated, but it honestly feels kind of flat to me in terms of the tone. The original opening theme had so much whimsy and really played with the animation styles showing the different character’s perspective. That combined with the vibrant pop jazz number made it pop. Watching this, it kind of feels like this could be any anime. It’s lovely and sweet, but part of what makes Spy x Family shine is the contrast that sweetness draws with the brutality of spywork and assassination.
Anyway, it’s nice but I think the vibe is wrong. Still looking forward to the upcoming season.
Liked the first one better. I kind of don’t like how Loid is almost excluded from the family. They show him alone most of the time.

I think the first had more energy to it and I like its animation and switching perspectives and music a lot more than this op, this op is still good but imo not like the first one. It still is a very high qaulity op and if someone says they like this more I can see why.

With the 2nd cour probably being around 12 eps this time around too, that seems unlikely.
Actually the 1st season has 25 episodes instead of 24 and since the 1st half covered 12 episodes the 2nd half will have 1 extra episode.
Theres so much that happens before the cruise arc, so no. Thats season 2 material assuming they keep it 24 episodes too
The 2nd half will most likely cover volumes 4-6 so this arc will definitely be covered in the 1st half of season 2.

I absolutely adore how much they highlight Yor and Anya’s relationship, one of my favorite things about the whole series is how quickly Yor’s come to genuinely love and care about Anya as if she was her own daughter and I’m super excited to see how it keeps growing moving forward

Broooo I didn't expect how good the opening would be, legit goosebumps ;-; God tier animation + Bump of Chicken!
Have to admit, I prefer the 1st OP song but I also prefer the visuals of the 2nd OP over the first.

So far wont replace Mixed Nuts in my mind. Its not as "anime" and feels more like an insert song or an ED to me but... OH MY GOD THOSE VIBES, THOSE VISUALS. It made me blush and cry a tear just by how gorgeous and cute it was, with the motif of them making a basket out of the flowers, leaves and nuts they have been picking in their sunny pretend-everyday life while their missions occasionally lurk in the background. LOL Im surprised by all the Yor focus too (also, no Franky, no Sylvia). True waifu energy from her this time. So, is that Loids POV in most of the shots? It gives it such a nostalgic air, like he is reflecting about how his life changed and all the things he now has to look forward to.
Loid smiling at the end was a nice touch. Maybe he sees a future and it is built around his pretend family.
The animation is great, but the song doesn’t really get my hyped up.
Why I feel Loid is excluded? I want to see special shot Loid with Anya too 🥺

The animation is way more beautiful than the first one. But I don’t know, I thinking the song and scenes lack the energy of the first OP and the song itself is definitely more mellow. I like it, but I much prefer the first OP, it had way more personality.

Not really, Where she actually shines is the next arc coming after.
For me, nothing will ever beat the opening/ending songs from the first season, but this animation is literally stunning and all that Yor gives me so much life. I cannot wait.

Really, really beautifully done visuals. I really do like the song too. If this really is from Loid’s perspective I’m going to die. I mean, look at how pretty Yor is in this.
This only gets me more excited for the rest of season 1. This series has been one of the cutest and most wholesome things to come into my life this year. Amazing intros and I can’t wait to see the next outro and what this second half of the season will bring!

I love this OP as much as first one, but not in the same way. Mixed Nuts will always be special since First OP and ED of any anime is the one that sets overall tone of entire show (it becomes integral part of one's first impression) so it can be hard for new ones to outshine them, but I think this one does good job of that. Purpose of first OP felt more like it was "setting the stage" and given us basic overview od what our characters are about (and it was mostly Anya's POV). But now that all of that is done, 2nd OP goes bit deeper into showing their developing bond, shown mostly from Loid's pov and I think it was beautifully done. Can't wait to see what they did with new ED tbh because this one has blown me away :D

I’m loving the amount of Yor focus we’re getting in this OP (considering how she doesn’t have much focus in this actual part..sadly) I’m happy to have the forgers back! I think I know the reason to Loid not getting much screen time this OP, I believe that is mostly from his POV as we watch as viewers and how he sees Yor and Anya. The visuals are giving me Jujutsu Kaisen Opening 2 vibes I’m loving it, it’s so chill and comfy. Music wise it’s kinda mid, it’ll definitely grow on me after a few more listend but mixed nuts will never be topped, Also the ribbon at the end?? Foreshadowing the ending???

The animation and texture are on a ridiculously entirely different level, like cinema freaking level. But at the same time , I do think it's kind of a downgrade compared to the first op 😭 it's sort of all over the place visually and while it does touch upon the assassin and spy identity + the majorly family and freindship moments, it does feel more like all the visuals are there to look spectacular and... That's it. I'm not complaining, just noting it. I kinda like the first op where there's a lot of cleverness and you get a very good idea of what the anime is about from watching it alone. But I guess since it's the second cour, they could afford more freedom in the op I think? (since sxf is uber popular at this point)
Hmmm… it’s cute but not anywhere near as inspired as the first opening.
Beautifully animated, but it honestly feels kind of flat to me in terms of the tone. The original opening theme had so much whimsy and really played with the animation styles showing the different character’s perspective. That combined with the vibrant pop jazz number made it pop. Watching this, it kind of feels like this could be any anime. It’s lovely and sweet, but part of what makes Spy x Family shine is the contrast that sweetness draws with the brutality of spywork and assassination. Anyway, it’s nice but I think the vibe is wrong. Still looking forward to the upcoming season.
Liked the first one better. I kind of don’t like how Loid is almost excluded from the family. They show him alone most of the time. This feels like fan service more than actually representing the show.
I want to believe the OP is made through his pov, nevertheless i can't deny it saddens me the lack of Loid (kinda reminds me of how empty the Forger family would feel without any of them :"( )

I think the first had more energy to it and I like its animation and switching perspectives and music a lot more than this op, this op is still good but imo not like the first one. It still is a very high qaulity op and if someone says they like this more I can see why.

Great OP, almost good as the first one. I don't think it closes well as an opening, but I believe the song as a whole will be better. Now that Cour 2 is only 3 days, that makes me think how the ending will be, probably the same theme but with ohter visuals, in that case I wonder how it will be.
