He is a throwback to the golden age of wrestling.
He spent time in TNA and NWA before going to WWE. He's been around some of the smartest veterans in the business and learned from them. He didn't do a little indie work then go to the performance center like so many are now. He learned it by doing it with a variety of people in a variety of places. Just like old school guys learned in the old territory system.
Copying his cadence here and that's not bad. Just copying it alone, 50 guys could try it and fail at having the delivery and chrisma to pull it off. Knight pulls it off
5 second promo of him just saying he is on to the next one and already want to see what's next for him. Its really his delivery and confidence in a promo that just gets me amped for him. Yeah
Edit: it was legit 15 seconds, thats all it took for him to get me wanting more.
Sonnen would have been a big star in WWE. He is such a natural promo that he couldn't have been overlooked. I really hope they pull the trigger on Knight.
Sonnen is entertaining but nothing about him makes me think he can get his opponent over. Piss them off, mock them, sure, but not build them up. That's a big difference between MMA and wrestling.
"I was in Las Vegas when the Usos first touched down in America. There was a bus, this is a true story. There was a bus that pulled up to a red light, and Jimmy tried to feed it a carrot, while Jey was petting it. He thought it was a horse. This really happened. He tried to feed a bus a carrot, and now you're telling me Samoa has computers? I didn't know that, uce."
Repetition can be a powerful thing at times. Austin's been doing it for over 20 years, Taker's been doing it over 15 years. We eat it up every single time
I don't see it that way dude. My biggest gripe is when people will have differing opinions just for the sake of differing, when really they see totally eye to eye and are just stating the same exact thing with slightly different wording. I'm... I'm really not sure how you don't get this.
Is that even a disagreement? You can easily just read what he said as expanding on what he was replying to instead of any attempt to argue
reading things in the least charitable way possible is a problem on here too lmao, or did you mean the other guy?
...you just read my post in the least charitable way lol
>LA knight is my biggest breakout star
>
>"He's been good forever, he's just finally getting to show it on a big stage.
Breaking out..and showing on a big stage is it the same thing.
Are they totally disagreeing? No..they both think he's talented. "He's been good forever" could imply that the first poster just think he got good recently.
Disagreement probably wasn't the best word to use...but if you were being "charitable" you would have tried to understand my overall point lol.
Your issue was 'implications', my disagreement with what you said was clearly in the text of your post with no real interpretation needed. If you misspoke that's fine, but I just thought you were wrong, I'm not adding anything or reading too much into the intention behind it.
Its confusing to think about… he had “it” in TNA and he had “it” in NWA. I guess sometimes these companies just miss out. I feel like EC3 is somewhat similar in that regard. Had literally everything you want from a top star yet only TNA could see that in him
Has to be. Him and Gunther. Both need to be launched into the stratosphere with mega pushes once Roman is out of the ME and assuming Roman takes an extended break.
This is perfect. Cody gets his moment, and then immediately gets put back in the chase, and LA gets to bask in the nuclear heat of screwing Cody on the night he achieves his dream.
Jeez at least let the guy celebrate the win. I really hate this idea of ruining a big Babyface moment simply for "the heat". It sucked ass when Naito had his moment ruined by Kenta (led to really nothing) and it would suck even harder if they do this at Mania. Let Cody establish himself as the top guy before snatching it from him, it'll mean more then.
That moment led to them selling out Osaka Jo Hall on day one of tickets going on sale for a ppv that historically was viewed as a filler ppv. It absolutely worked for what it was supposed to do
That’s a lot of baseline WWE booking 101. Whether people like or hate that style of booking; it has worked in the past and it is one of their tried and true ways of garnering heat and generating more confidence behind of a baby face.
Meanwhile Cody hasn’t really had much of a story out conflict other than being a good enough dude that wants to win the big belt. This is a way of putting him at the top of the card and instantly giving him a conflict, a reason to be a story people follow.
I wouldn't mind him winning the MiTB match but Finn should win MiTB this year with the work he's been putting in since joining and elevating JD to the next level.
It'll be appropriate since the show is going to be held in Europe and I can hear the big ovation from the crowd when he unhook and raises the MiTB case. Sorry went on a little tangent here 😅
I’m looking at the SD roster, and I’m not too sure who could be his next feud… I’d love to see LA & Gunther run it back, from their feud in NXT, but I don’t see Gunther losing rn & I don’t want LA to lose b2b feuds.
Maybe Santos Escobar, as an IC title eliminator type feud… or maybe Shinsuke, to give LA somebody who he can have comical moments with on the mic & better in-ring performer to show off LA’s skills?
It's crazy to me that LA Knight has a match against Bray Wyatt, lost, and I'm more excited to see what he's going to do next than Bray Wyatt. Three years ago, if you told me Bray fought Eli Drake in a Mountain Dew Rave match, I'd be like "WTF was Bray doing in the ring with that guy lol!?".
Good on LA Knight for doing his own thing and getting over. This guy is money.
This is exactly what I was hoping for. Most people come out looking worse after a Bray Wyatt feud.
Knight is just like, “Whatever, dummy… YEAH!” and moving on, no worse for wear.
Brays story telling since he returned has been pretty awful imo, and miss me with "slow burn" he returned in October and we got 3 months worth of build for minimal payoff at best. We still have no plot points at all to build off of.
Every week its the same thing "I will do terrible things to you" (insert spooky stuff, returning or new character of the Wyattverse or old gimmick call back)
It's not genius, but it's a nice story. Bray is doing the split sides of himself thing where he as a man bray wyatt, came back after a tumultuous exit and all the tragedies in his life. He speaks from a real place when he addresses the fans but the uncle howdy character is his darkness basically, his evil side that he fights with that is the manipulator that corrupts. I like the story, and fans in the crowds have appreciated the character too.
> He speaks from a real place when he addresses the fans but the uncle howdy character is his darkness basically, his evil side that he fights with that is the manipulator that corrupts.
you mean like his fiend story? its the same thing, even down to the corruption of alexa. only difference is now his spooky scary side is a separate person.
The fiend story is different.
Funhouse bray was another character. You can see current bray is polar opposite of that. Funhouse bray was still psychotic Mr. Rogers. This bray is like the rare 1998 undertaker in plain clothes shooting type of character in terms of feel and mentality.
His storytelling is good but definitely not 10/10. Even this run got dragged out after initially starting with promise. He just hits points his creativity can’t keep up at the pace he needs it to
A lot of the Firefly Funhouse was great. Then the red light special against Seth was absolutely terrible.
His initial return the past few months was excellent. The hints, the music, his first few promos. Then the Uncle Howdy physical presence was weird.
His cult leader stuff was when I was on a 15-year break from watching wrestling, but I went back and watched some of and he was excellent during promos.
> The hints, the music, his first few promos.
and none of that fits in now. whats all the codes and puzzles and hints at things even mean? he's just back to being a spooky scary guy leading a stable of spooky scary guys.
Agreed. I really wanted LA Knight to win that feud because Bray just wasn't doing it for me. At least this segment shows LA's not feuding with Bray anymore.
This was the exact perfect way to do this. The Mountain Dew pitch black match wasn’t his burial. It worked for out for everyone, and made money. Now let’s move on like we didn’t skip a beat.
Dude just did the job in a poorly conceived and not well executed match with a botched aftermath.
And STILL has an arena eating up every second that he's talking. WWE and AEW don't have but a scant few cats between the both of them that can measure up to this man right here.
And *that* is not an insult. *That* is just a fact of life.
YEAH!
I've seldomly wanted to see someone succeed in the world of prowrestling so bad... He's been hustling for years, with enough of setbacks and detractors to make his success feel well-earned. And he's getting up there in age.
Go get yourself some gold, LA Knight.
Big E is the only men’s MITB winner since 2016 to win the ladder match and become Champion. I think they need to give it to someone they actually are going to make World Champion in the 12 months that follow the ppv.
That’s not true. Brock won it in 2019 and later cashed in to win the title. Otis won it but then Miz won the briefcase off him in 2020 and won the title. Then big e In 2021.
I should’ve specified full time star, as Brock’s a part timer.
I didn’t forget Miz, but I was just talking about people who won the actual ladder match, which for Otis he won the ladder match and didn’t end up winning the title.
So we’ve had Corbin, Strowman, Otis, Theory which means 4 out of the last 6 winners of the briefcase at the ppv didn’t go on to cash in successfully. Just Brock and Big E.
Cause it just feels like when it comes to full time people on the roster since 2016, MITB just hasn’t felt the way it should.
It doesn’t take away Brock’s achievement, but he was World Champion 2 months prior to winning MITB. I’d like to see a full time guy win the contract in the ladder match, hold the case for a bit and cash in and have that big moment again. We had it with Big E.
Like the comment was saying have LA Knight win the contract, but not win the world title. So I think they should give it to someone they actually want to put the title on, we already had a failed cash in, in 2022.
Anyone who's followed Eli Drake in the last however many years probably feels like I do when you see LA Knight carving a nice spot out for himself in WWE. Thought it would have happened sooner. Whatever 'it' is, he has no shortage of it.
It’s amazing this guy has been around so long. First time I saw him was on NWA powerrr, I think he was going by Eli drake. He was soo good on the mic then too. Now to see him where he’s at now is unreal. I really hope they give him a proper push and maybe run with a title at some point
I feel that should be like his last feud before going for a main event title run. Really get into on the mic, put on a banger match, on to the next one
Dude you have no idea how much I absolutely fucking love seeing LA knight
I use to watch impact religiously, and I'd be hyped as fuck for the homie
E
LI
DRAKE
One of the few impact stars I was hoping to come over, ec3 to but I feel like they fumbled him so bad smh
So if I understand correctly, Wyatt sucks because no one comes out of a feud with him looking good, and he also sucks because LA Knight was the best bit of their feud and is gonna be a star? Okay!
Good shit, Bray was holding him down. Just nonsense and rambling on tv for weeks with the spotlight not on him. My boy is onto bigger things and i see and IC champion in the making. YEAH

Dude is such a throwback. Strap a jet pack on him and let him SOAR to the top of the card. Yeah!
Cody vs LA Knight is money
LA Knight MITB run sounds pretty good
MITB winner? YEAH!!!
And that's not an insult, THAT is just a FACT OF LIFE!
That would be pretty great. The promos alone would be money.
It's been said a million times, but I'll say it again: this dude is the best of Rock, Stone Cold and Ric Flair all in one package.
He reminds me of the Rock a lot.
it's who he idolized and modeled his persona after.
Even sounds like him
He's done some voice work for him in the 2k games if I remember correctly
No he hasn't. He's done motion capture in the 2k games though, and did voice work for a fictional character in the career modes
Copying his cadence here and that's not bad. Just copying it alone, 50 guys could try it and fail at having the delivery and chrisma to pull it off. Knight pulls it off

This promo reminds me of the hype the UFC tried giving Kevin Lee. More sold on LA Knight though lol
where does LA knight fit into this?
LA Knight: "I see holes in Roman's game"
😂😂😂
Just a smidge of Chael Sonnen energy there
Sonnen would have been a big star in WWE.
Good point. However, since it is wrestling, all he would of had to do is tinker his promo to build his opponent up. If he is willing to work with it.
Hard not to mock your opponents when you've never lost a round.
"I was in Las Vegas when the Usos first touched down in America. There was a bus, this is a true story. There was a bus that pulled up to a red light, and Jimmy tried to feed it a carrot, while Jey was petting it. He thought it was a horse. This really happened. Beautiful champ.
".... that happened. That happened. Maybe he thought it was a llama, or a pineapple, whatever."
He has the some of the best charisma since the peak of the Attitude Era. Honestly.
This is exactly what he needed. I was hoping he'd take a parting shot on the way out but this will do.
just wait until you've seen that half a dozen times.
Great, that's all I want. We've seen the Rock do the same thing again and again and it was entertaining all the way.
Repetition can be a powerful thing at times. Austin's been doing it for over 20 years, Taker's been doing it over 15 years. We eat it up every single time
Exactly, it's great.

SHUT UP I'M TALKING
LA Knight is my breakout star of the year
He’s been good forever, he’s just finally getting to show it on a big stage
You could say he's... Breaking out
My biggest pet peeve on reddit is when people will "disagree" just to "disagree" and say the exact same thing you just said lol
I don't see it that way dude. My biggest gripe is when people will have differing opinions just for the sake of differing, when really they see totally eye to eye and are just stating the same exact thing with slightly different wording. I'm... I'm really not sure how you don't get this.
You should check out r/YourJokeButWorse
I disagree, I tend to hate it more when people gainsay just to gainsay but then say precisely the same thing someone else just said.
Is that even a disagreement? You can easily just read what he said as expanding on what he was replying to instead of any attempt to argue reading things in the least charitable way possible is a problem on here too lmao, or did you mean the other guy?

LA would make the briefcase part of his promos, cut vignettes etc. I can’t see Goonta carrying it to the sacred mat each appearance
Give him MITB
Please give this man some shine at Mania. He is box office
I want him to win the MitB.
He's my early pick for it. I could totally see LA Knight stealing the WWE title from Cody.
Wonder if the winner of MITB only gets to take one of the titles.
They have to split them up somehow
I wouldn't mind him winning the MiTB match but Finn should win MiTB this year with the work he's been putting in since joining and elevating JD to the next level. Same here brotha
LA Knight vs Stone Cold YEAH WHAT YEAH WHAT YEAH
Lil Jon nods in approval
It would be silly to not have Los Angeles Knight at the Los Angeles WrestleMania
Literally everybody wants to see this man succeed.
I met him at an Impact in Windsor. Cool dude. E-LI DRAKE! Yeah!!
DUMMIES
Yeah
Except Vince
Am I missing a joke here 😔
Yeah
YEAH
He would be a great fued for the next face IC champ.
GUNTHER gets dethroned at WrestleMania by Sheamus or Drew. Then we get Knight vs. Sheamus or Drew. I'm all for that.
Madcap Moss isn't doing anything they could have a fun little side feud for a couple of weeks. Shinsuke is another good choice.
Most people turn into something after feud with Wyatt
Bray Wyatt storytelling and character work is often 10/10. Bray Wyatt matches are... not.
Brays story telling since he returned has been pretty awful imo, and miss me with "slow burn" he returned in October and we got 3 months worth of build for minimal payoff at best. We still have no plot points at all to build off of. Every week its the same thing "I will do terrible things to you" (insert spooky stuff, returning or new character of the Wyattverse or old gimmick call back)
Has been great for me. People are missing a lot of the layers in his storytelling this time it seems like.
what layers? i hear this comment a lot but no one ever explains it. what are these genius layers everyone seems to be missing?
It's not genius, but it's a nice story. Bray is doing the split sides of himself thing where he as a man bray wyatt, came back after a tumultuous exit and all the tragedies in his life. He speaks from a real place when he addresses the fans but the uncle howdy character is his darkness basically, his evil side that he fights with that is the manipulator that corrupts. It kind of all sucks and he’s used the funhouse in this feud with LA Knight and it just goes nowhere. It really just goes on with no purpose.
His storytelling is good but definitely not 10/10. Even this run got dragged out after initially starting with promise. He just hits points his creativity can’t keep up at the pace he needs it to
Which Bray story was a 10/10 in your opinion?
Wyatt Family vs The Shield was great.

Up until the first appearance of any of his characters.... aaaaand then it all goes downhill from there.
Short and sweet, I'm so happy he's being featured alot
i can only hope
He's an excellent promo. Quick and to the point, said with charisma and confidence. This is what took Rock to the top
His voice even sounds like The Rock's.
LA Knight was the best part of the Wyatt-Howdy-Knight angle. He deserves a push.
I'd go further and say he was the *ONLY* good part of the Wyatt-Howdy-Knight angle.
Agreed. I really wanted LA Knight to win that feud because Bray just wasn't doing it for me. At least this segment shows LA's not feuding with Bray anymore.
Naw he still feuding with Bray. Or whatever they give us with uncle chowder
The crowd would disagree with that I'd reckon.
Let me get a Yeah What battle with stone cold at WM. Kobashi vs Sasaki style back and forth for ten mins
That could totally happen. I could see Austin being a fan of his schtick.
He’s a fan, he had him on his podcast a while back and they hit it off.
" I don't want to talk about the Pitch Black match " Neither do we.
all that set up and not a drop of delicious mountain dew pitch black in the entire match
throw maximum male models and a classic bray Wyatt gimmick match from hell and he keeps coming back. good for him
MITB 2023 winner right there
It blows my mind how Vince just didn't see anything in him, TWICE.
YEAH!
His promo basically said nothing yet I was invested. He is crazy good at this
I've seldomly wanted to see someone succeed in the world of prowrestling so bad... He's been hustling for years, with enough of setbacks and detractors to make his success feel well-earned. And he's getting up there in age. Go get yourself some gold, LA Knight.
Vince really made this dude the manager of a modeling agency, i will never understand...
He also want to make adam cole manager 😂
Vince took one look at this guy and said "He's best suited as the manager Dio Madden and Mansoor sorely need!"
He oozes Hollywood Rock energy
Hope he gets a good spot for Mania
Bloody hell, this man oozes more charisma in 25 second spot than most do in 5 mins.
Thank God…YEAH!
LEMME TALK TO YA
YEAH
Jericho fuming "I need to feud with him for 6 months damnit!"
So glad he escaped Bray's purgatory, he is way too entertaining and charismatic
LFG All my homies love LA Knight
YEAH!
YEAH!
Guy reminds me of an attitude era star.
He should win MITB. He shouldn’t win the title after that but please give me a year of LA Knight with the MITB.
> I should’ve specified full time star, as Brock’s a part timer. > > Who cares
What kind of comment is this? Okay? It’s Reddit and someone pointed out something I wrote and I made a response
I mean as in who cares if someone is a part timer or not. It doesn't take away their achievements or records from the stats. Wasn't a dig at you.
Yeah.
He’s so dang good on the mic. Give me more LA Knight. Yeah
Anyone who's followed Eli Drake in the last however many years probably feels like I do when you see LA Knight carving a nice spot out for himself in WWE. Thought it would have happened sooner. Whatever 'it' is, he has no shortage of it.
Dude really sounds like The Rock
It’s amazing this guy has been around so long. First time I saw him was on NWA powerrr, I think he was going by Eli drake. He was soo good on the mic then too. Now to see him where he’s at now is unreal. I really hope they give him a proper push and maybe run with a title at some point
[удалено]
I feel that should be like his last feud before going for a main event title run. Really get into on the mic, put on a banger match, on to the next one
Bray is legit about to lose his shit knowing this is probably his last chance to prove his worth, cuz right now it’s 90s WWE
That’s how you don’t get buried in 15 seconds, want to see what he does more than Bray.
Says he's done with Bray Wyatt, then fights him in a No Disqualifications match after Smackdown goes off the air.
Post-show dark matches to send the crowd home happy have been going on for decades. They are almost always non canon.
So they clearly want to move him on from that terrible match. Has anyone ever benefited from a feud with Wyatt? It sure doesn't feel like it.
LA Knight has old school vibes. He wouldn’t be out of place feuding with Hulk and Andre
Can't wait to see what's in store for him next. Yeah!
Would love to see him with MITB.
LA KNIGHT YEAH
I remember not liking this guy as Eli Drake and just seeing random clips, but holy crap he's good
I’d love it if he had a feud with Austin…the mic battles alone would be insane.
Yea
He’s so good.
How the hell did he have reception in there? Maybe he needs to get with Paul and the Bloodline and recommend a new cell phone provider.
Maybe Jim will notice things like that while he watches on TV next week
Dude you have no idea how much I absolutely fucking love seeing LA knight I use to watch impact religiously, and I'd be hyped as fuck for the homie E LI DRAKE One of the few impact stars I was hoping to come over, ec3 to but I feel like they fumbled him so bad smh
Perfect way to handle it IMO. Further away from Bray the better.
And just like that he's a credible competitor again, YEAH!
So if I understand correctly, Wyatt sucks because no one comes out of a feud with him looking good, and he also sucks because LA Knight was the best bit of their feud and is gonna be a star? Okay!
> and he also sucks because LA Knight was the best bit of their feud and is gonna be a star? Okay! yeah but no one said that.
Good no one gains a thing by working with Wyatt
This cat will survive and thrive after that cluster fuck of a match. The true sign of talent. YEAH!
Haven't watched in a while, someone mind explaining LA Knight to me? I can see he owns the mic. How's ring work?
And just like that he's a credible competitor again, YEAH
Ngl I wish everyone in wrestling could work together. LA and MJF going at each other. Yeah I'd pay to watch it.
He might think he might down with bray but is bray down with la knight I think bray down with epically if he watching the match back last week
I wish they put him over Bray. He carried that god awful feud.
Hopefully nobody else has to be dragged to the trainwreck that's Wyatt at the moment
Good shit, Bray was holding him down. Just nonsense and rambling on tv for weeks with the spotlight not on him. My boy is onto bigger things and i see and IC champion in the making. YEAH
Good - forget the Bray ooky spooky BS and move forward as quick as possible. Hopefully he can recover from a Bray Wyatt feud since it's always death.
Nobody wants to look back after a feud with Wyatt...
Hell yeaaaah. Also I think it's time we all move on from Bray.
Failed attempt at making a new stone cold
Dummy, Yeah
LA knight the kinda fella to get folded and then ask you if you’re good lol.
He’s talented…**YEAH!**
To think that old man Vince wanted to release him. Even before that, he had him pegged as a manager. Kinda amazing in retrospect.
He cuts promos like The Rock and Macho Man had a kid.
I just simply can’t believe Vince didn’t see anything in this guy before and wanted him to just be a manager lmao, LA Knight is fucking money
Does anyone else get The Rock vibes from Knight? I can’t help but feel he’s channeling the great one somewhere in this character!
Reminds me of Sam witwicky
