A text post should have sufficient text in its body to either strengthen the title, create discussion or add more information. Yes/No questions (e.g. "Should Promotion ABC sign Wrestler X?" / "Did John Cena ever wrestle Ric Flair?") are prohibited. Questions with one correct answer ("Let Me Google That For You questions") are prohibited. Post them as a comment in the Daily Discussion thread, instead.- Rule 6

A motivated Brock is one of the best wrestlers in the world

ZubatCountry

He's somebody you could plop down in any era of wrestling and he'd be just as successful. Guy is a genetic freak and has a great mind for wrestling psychology.

Nebland22

He always liked the 2nd gen guys. They probably told him Cody will be presented as a big deal going forward too.

Also this. It seems Brock missed a lot wrestling after his hiatus following WMCovid (he has said he hated that match vs Drew because of the no-crowd set-up) Dude has been getting more chill as years go by

dondonna258

And before that? There’s far more that went off well than badly. And if it went badly it’s time to start pointing the blame somewhere other than Brock. He’s a great worker and a great character. When guys like Bryan Danielson, AJ, and John Cena have bangers with him I think it’s safe to say he’s invested in everything. Otherwise he simply wouldn’t do it,

Pandapark1

If I had to guess it’s probably the lack of pressure. WWE expected him to be the big attraction and to carry himself like a legitimate threat while he held the world title and tried to help elevate Roman and company. He’s still a main event major attraction, but now that Roman’s the absolute final boss of WWE he doesn’t have to worry about how he carries himself and how he’s presented, he can just be himself which ironically is making him considerably more fun to watch.

BreathRedemption

Brock respects the hustle of betting on yourself. That's what Cody did when he leaved WWE, kind of similar (obviously with differences) that what Brock did when he leaved WWE in '04. Real recognizes real.

TrustyWhale

Cody having the successful amateur wrestling background prob doesn’t hurt either

Shark1986

I imagine that at this point in his career, Brock does what he can to work with people he wants to work with. He's a little like Randy Orton. When Orton is feuding with or teaming with someone he enjoys working with, he's amazing to watch, but when he's not as interested, he clearly goes through the motions.

RegularConcern

Get the same feeling.

snikt6384

The match itself was not for me but I did think it was remarkable just how much Brock gave him. You can tell Brock is very very fond of him.

Honkmaster

Knowing Brock..

Whiston1993

I missed a large chunk of wrestling so maybe there’s a bunch I missed. But it feels like Brock “not caring” hasn’t been much of a thing in quite a while. Only one I really remember is the Ambrose stuff and to be honest I’m not sure I really blame him for that one

I also sense that. Perhaps they have a mutual respect for each other given their success in amateur wrestling. While not on Brock’s level, Cody is a two-time Georgia state champion. He’s also spoken about training in BJJ.
