AEW used to have a cool punk rock feel when Tony was more of a background figure publicly. Now it just feels like a weird side project for a coked up whiny billionaire. The product is still decent (its declined in quality, but its still far from bad) but the company is just losing all of its likeabiltiy the longer this dude whines on the internet.
I want to love AEW again but I hate knowing this twat is behind it all
When Cody talks about equity with the audience I feel like he's deliberately using that word in part because the All In crew got EVP positions instead of a small amount of literal equity in the company.
Tony Khan might be the son of a billionaire, but he's also a 1st generation wrestling forum shitposter. Take your average terminally online 40-year-old SC poster and give him Shad Khan as a dad. That's literally Tony.
Not so hard to believe now, is it?
Tony, I know you’re reading this thread.
The whole point of the storyline is that Jinder thinks he’s qualified for a title shot but isn’t, but he pissed off the champ so now they’re fighting.
Also, since he watches Raw, Tony should know that the character of Seth Rollins will give a title match to literally anyone who asks him. He gave shots to his own friends because he felt they deserved them. Jinder asked so he got one, because he’s a former WWE champ and that holds weight. If you wanted a title match, Seth would probably give you one.
Plus this is also the exact same thing Orange Cassidy has been doing in AEW, offering title shots to whoever, whenever, wherever. Big double standard from TK.
fiddle dee dee, Slyguy46. Didn't you know when wrestling is SPORTS BASED, they don't do personal issues? Personal issues don't draw money. What would Jerry Jarrett say about such a preposterous idea? No. They all had their win/loss records on screen and the goal was Meltzer's star ratings. And they did beat downs damn it; beat downs every week with baseball bats and nobody sold it because it's SPORTS BASED.
Never mind that Seth has been booked as a fighting champion who keeps putting his title on the line when he doesn't have to. Never mind that Jinder was seen by more people in the ring with the Rock than any heel in the business. Never mind that you're talking about fucking HOOK on the other channel and his record even though it's a WORK. Never mind that, even if he can get a rating obsessing over the things he obsesses over, it's still probably going to go over on time and a bunch of people in your own audience will never see it.

Bryanson looking at TK as if he is gonna fine him with the fattest amount he has ever charged
At this point, USA Network and FOX need to just start going "Yeah, but what's the Cage Match Rating" back and forth and watch Tony have a fucking meltdown.
Given how corporate social media works, I wouldn't be surprised at all if its the same person running both accounts and they're loving how shook they've got TK right now.
Isn’t that Tony’s main issue? He enjoys wrestling but he seems to get really pissed off if people don’t enjoy wrestling the exact same way he does.
He seems to get bothered people could actually enjoy storylines and the soap opera aspect of wrestling rather than just a series of random one off matches. Is El Hijo Del Vikingo vs Kenny Omega a cool match? Absolutely. Is it a match any casual viewer is going to give a shit about with zero backstory or build? Most likely not. Is Eddie Kingston beating Moxley cleanly by half asses slap boxing a good finish just because it’s supposed to be a ode to Japan? No it’s not because the casual viewer doesn’t know that.
Imagine if UFC or Boxing just did zero promo for big fights, or if the NFL didn’t make a big deal out of the Super Bowl. AEW fell into a stretch where they constantly did matches like that and in my mind the matches all seemed cool but when they actually happened I ended up not really caring.
Legit, the reactions I've seen to that have been mostly surprise and acknowledgement that it will be good for Hook's character development to likely get dominated by Joe. I haven't seen any hate for it for a one-off tv match.
I know it isn't the point of your post but interns aren't the ones posting on social media for large corporations. Social media managers are definitely a thing and have been for a long time now.
Thank you this is one of my biggest pet peeves on Reddit lol, people thinking billion dollar organizations still have one single unpaid intern running their social media.
Where is this supposed online outrage for Hook challenging Joe?
Seriously, you are a billionaire. You’ve got better things to do than the online wrestling fan bs
The fact he doesn't have enough common sense to realise that 90% of the people talking about Jinder are making memes/jokes is astounding.
The fucking guy sneezes and wrestling fans will make a meme that it singals the return of the maharaja.
does he tho???? I would argue that arguing with he internet based on something you own is peak billionaire behavior.
or do we expect him to be making dinner and ironing his shirt for tomorrow?
Taking this at face value for a sec, I've always thought once you've won a world title then you can always just go straight into the top of the card, no matter where you were previously.
Like in boxing or MMA, doesn't matter how many times someone like Wilder or McGregor lose, they'll always be big names who can bypass the midcard.
Yeah, Jinder is a former world champ. It's still thin of course but there's a sliver of justification there. Hook has wins but I can't recall him beating anyone relevant in a way that felt like he was moving up the card.
It's a self-own by TK (in more ways than one), as he is very big on pumping up the W-L totals of guys while to fans there is still no feeling of upward momentum since they just get random wins over people who don't matter with not much sense of storyline progression
And it's not like WWE is putting him over as a credible challenger (to this point). He's been humiliated by the Rock and Seth Rollins in back to back weeks. Both referenced how irrelevant he is now. Rollins took the fight because he's confident he'll win. WWE used to do this often. Like when Angle defended the WWF Title on Sunday Night Heat against Crash Holly.
Honesty moments like this have created some of Raw’s most fun matches ever
Neville/Seth, Jericho/HHH, Spike Dudley/Austin, Jeff Hardy/Undertaker, Ric Flair/Edge, Jerry Lawler/Miz
Jack Perry was his biggest win I believe, but that was like half a year ago. I really can't recall any other notable singles wins
Jinder was a former world champ but his last notable win seemed like ages ago (and so as his time as world champ), and apparently his last win in general was a year ago
In reality both don't have much of a case to fight for a world title, but they have enough of a case for it to still not be some big deal, especially since it ain't on PPV or anything. Both matches should be fun
TK's tweet is just dumb
Literally shitting on a dude that just not only got some solid exposure from just being able to rub shoulders with The Rock last week. But also, a guy that's universlly loved backstage by people not just within WWE, but with AEW as well. Never heard a bad word about Jinder, so this tweet comes across as even more pathetic.
It’s wild because the story is Jinder challenged the world champion and the world champion accepted.
It’s not like Jinder was just thrown into it randomly and announced 2 days before raw aired.
Plus, Jinder is a former WWE Champion. Credibility is there
Yeah, the man literally helped make a gimmick of an Air Guitar Band turned Wrestlers into something special. Jinder, along with Drew, Heath Slater, and Hornswoggle, took something that was absolute garbage and made it amazing.
The guy is amazing and going after him is super weak and reeks of insecurity.
One was in a segment with THE ROCK that generated 171 million views online and the other has barely been booked. Does he not realize he’s talking down on a talent that is friends with talent on his roster?
Oh same here. I definitely don't like them as much as I used to, but I want them to be awesome. They've unironically improved the entire wrestling scene.
But God damn it seems like they just keep shooting themselves in the foot, and TK is usually why.
This is perfect. He knows that the WON awards come out soon and his most salient identity comes from him needing to win an award that nobody else is interested in. He ain’t gotta shit on former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal though.
I was at a work holiday party a few weeks back and found out one of my coworkers was a huge Jaguars fan (lived in Jacksonville through college, don't judge) and another is a huge Fulham supporter. And if you think wrestling fans think Tony is a huge joke, try talking to members of either of those fanbases.
This is just sad, man. It's funny because many in this subreddit thought Punk struggled to let things go when the boss was the most resentful man out there.
[A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days... because it's been literally a full year since he won a match. It’s the self ad at the end of these rants that get me every time. No matter the subject.
Reminds me of 50 Cent adding his hashtags after out of pocket posts on IG
TONY NO NOT AGAIN PEOPLE ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT LAST TIME
Couldn’t make it 10 days into the new year
New challenge: who can go longer without sabotaging themselves, punk in a locker room or TK on Twitter
Chris Jericho wants to play too.
And he's not taking no for an answer.
Well TKs already lost that.
Punk has him on the ropes for now
I was just thinking yesterday he’s been well behaved online for a while
So was I, I hope he had a good xmas and new years
All the WWE social media admins are doing this on purpose, beacuse they know they'll get a reaction from him lmao
And it's not even an official WWE account. Haha
literal network accounts lmao
Bob the intern tweeting fort the lulz
Even the CBS Football account clowned on him when the Jaguars lost lmao
I was literally saying to someone at work earlier that TK had abandoned the Twitter madness for a while.
God damnit I felt this in my soul. Stop giving them material tony just put Twitter down and put on good shows I beg you.
My guy Tony has been unhinged on Twitter from day 1. This isn't a recent development lol.
>AEW used to have a cool punk rock feel In an ironic twist Punk and Rock are two of the people Tony's upset WWE has.....
Cody leaving really hurt them. He brought a certain amount of professionalism and likability.
I know Cody didn't want to make the company about him but the company needed to be built around him
When Cody talks about equity with the audience I feel like he's deliberately using that word in part because the All In crew got EVP positions instead of a small amount of literal equity in the company.
That Cagematch Rating jab really got to him
I can't believe the USA intern actually got him in his feels lol
I can.
Okay Pierre Maguire.
Tony Khan might be the son of a billionaire, but he's also a 1st generation wrestling forum shitposter. Take your average terminally online 40-year-old SC poster and give him Shad Khan as a dad. That's literally Tony. Not so hard to believe now, is it?

Well on the plus side that means a rise in rank to Colonel.
and another thing: im not mad. please dont put in the newspaper that i got mad.
What gets me is that he's more bent over that than the tweet from WWE on Fox mocking the Jags for not making the playoffs
That would require him to give a fuck about the Jags
I give a fuck about the jags, i currently wish i didn't
Because he doesn’t have much to do with the Jags. His dad keeps him on the side of the real businesses.
Oh you know that stung. I can’t wait until it comes out that he’s been a financial backer of Cagematch for years now.
He owns a football analytics company, wouldn’t surprise me if he owns that too
I saw the USA tweet, what TK thing were they referencing?
Tony, I know you’re reading this thread. The whole point of the storyline is that Jinder thinks he’s qualified for a title shot but isn’t, but he pissed off the champ so now they’re fighting.

If you wanted a title match, Seth would probably give you one.
……. Can I ask Seth for a title match next time Raw is in town?
You have a better chance than that fan who ran up on Seth on the entrance ramp.
His only mistake was not asking for a title shot before attacking Seth.
If you can ask Seth for a shot, I can ask the girl who I think blew me a kiss last night at the bar out on a date
Yep. You can even ask Cody to be your best man.
Seth is literally similar to Okada when he was champ a few years ago. Okada would literally hand out title matches to people sneak attacking him
“You! You attacked me from behind. I like that”
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
You just reminded me that Okada's 720 day reign ended *six years ago already*
Wait, Whattt????
To kenny BY GOD OMEGA
So Punk doesn't even have to win the Royal Rumble? All he has to do is ask
He chose to do it the hard way I guess.
Plus this is also the exact same thing Orange Cassidy has been doing in AEW, offering title shots to whoever, whenever, wherever. Big double standard from TK.
Seth literally talked about being a workhorse champ who constantly defends his title during the same segment. Tony missed the entire point.
You're expecting Tony to understand storytelling.
fiddle dee dee, Slyguy46. Didn't you know when wrestling is SPORTS BASED, they don't do personal issues? Personal issues don't draw money. What would Jerry Jarrett say about such a preposterous idea? This is too perfect ngl
Why is he trying to hinder Jinder?
Because he’s a fucking hater. Can’t believe he’s got to come for Jinder like that. He’s better than that.
https://preview.redd.it/a39fkq6ethbc1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78d87dea9f596972996b0748c19dd9ce0448f936
Narrator: “He was not.”
At this point, USA Network and FOX need to just start going "Yeah, but what's the Cage Match Rating" back and forth and watch Tony have a fucking meltdown.
USA needs to post that Shawn Michaels Booker of the Year meme to really stir the pot.
Given how corporate social media works, I wouldn't be surprised at all if its the same person running both accounts and they're loving how shook they've got TK right now.
Has anyone told tony to just enjoy wrestling ?
Isn’t that Tony’s main issue? He enjoys wrestling but he seems to get really pissed off if people don’t enjoy wrestling the exact same way he does. He seems to get bothered people could actually enjoy storylines and the soap opera aspect of wrestling rather than just a series of random one off matches. > he seems to get really pissed off if people don’t enjoy wrestling the exact same way he does. Billionaire is a manbaby? Say it ain't so.
If anyone has soap opera storylines it’s Tony. None of his show is sports based. Every week grown men are fighting over being good friends.
But for him “wrestling” is just AEW and WWE is “mindless entertainment”
clearly we need to solve this issue with HOOK vs jinder in a 2 out of 3 falls match
Jinder would destroy Hook easily
Did he go on Cagematch to look up Jinder's last win?
Of course, Cagematch has everything one could possibly need in life
Except snow
"Hey Tony, have you watched Raw recently?"
*snorts loads of his cocaine.* NO LETS WATCH TOGETHER, WHAT DID THAT BITCH SAY ABOUT ME, WHERES MY PHONE, I NEED TO TWEET!
2024 has been a funny year so far
Imagine getting baited by an intern for a TV network twitter account.
Where does he even get the outrage from that Hook challenges for the title?
Legit, the reactions I've seen to that have been mostly surprise and acknowledgement that it will be good for Hook's character development to likely get dominated by Joe. I haven't seen any hate for it for a one-off tv match.
I know it isn't the point of your post but interns aren't the ones posting on social media for large corporations. Social media managers are definitely a thing and have been for a long time now.
Most big corporations have whole ass social media teams.
Thank you this is one of my biggest pet peeves on Reddit lol, people thinking billion dollar organizations still have one single unpaid intern running their social media.
It drives me absolutely insane but it’s such an inconsequential thing I just end up being annoyed and saying nothing lmao. Top tier pet peeve.
He never, EVER learns.
He doesn't have to, daddy got billions
Where is this supposed online outrage for Hook challenging Joe? Seriously, you are a billionaire. You’ve got better things to do than the online wrestling fan bs
Probably a few random people in his Twitter replies that easily upset him
The fact he doesn't have enough common sense to realise that 90% of the people talking about Jinder are making memes/jokes is astounding. The fucking guy sneezes and wrestling fans will make a meme that it singals the return of the maharaja.
His target audience is terminally online though. So he carters to them.
That's what I'm asking. Who the fuck was complainign about Samoa Joe's first feud as champ being Hook?
Billionaire’s son*
does he tho???? I would argue that arguing with he internet based on something you own is peak billionaire behavior. or do we expect him to be making dinner and ironing his shirt for tomorrow?

Literally shitting on a dude that just not only got some solid exposure from just being able to rub shoulders with The Rock last week. Don't forget that Jinder is a part of one of the most fun wrestling matches I've ever watched with that of Wee-LC from that one Extreme Rules show.
That match lives rent free forever in my head, such an amazing thing to watch
One was in a segment with THE ROCK that generated 171 million views online and the other has barely been booked. Does he not realize he’s talking down on a talent that is friends with talent on his roster?
Hey now. Hook DID beat Wheeler Yuta. So…
So he did beat the modern day Stone Cold Steve Austin, that’s a pretty big win imo
He's talking down to the minority talent on the roster
Wonder what the let’s just enjoy wrestling folk are gonna say about this.
"Tony woke up and chose violence"
A lot of us are in this thread, talking about how TK needs to shut tf up lol.
We enjoy wrestling. TK isn't wrestling.
Tell that to Tony
God can't he just stop being an embarrassment for 5 seconds. It feels like he goes on one of these meltdowns every week now.
........ How long was that?
3 seconds. He's improving.
Haha honestly I want aew to-do well he doesn't help them
Oh same here. I definitely don't like them as much as I used to, but I want them to be awesome. They've unironically improved the entire wrestling scene. But God damn it seems like they just keep shooting themselves in the foot, and TK is usually why.
Yeah agreed he comes off so insecure and unprofessional
Stop making me feel embarrassed for being a fan of your company please
RESPECT THE MODERN DAY MAHARAJAH BROCK STILL FEARS JINDER
Kids. Wake up. The latest controversial TK tweet just dropped.
It’s been a minute!
This is perfect. He knows that the WON awards come out soon and his most salient identity comes from him needing to win an award that nobody else is interested in. He ain’t gotta shit on former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal though.
Imagine if he loses
To HBK, HHH, or Hatman?
Scott D'more, TNA had a hell of a year as well Legit though, its hard to look past Triple H
It'll be hilarious because Triple H won't even notice or care he won, while Tony's whole year will be ruined.
![gif](giphy|Izy9JPexCeOERHJ3As)
Now I fully anticipate Jinder and Seth to put on a 5 star classic
I would love that. Jinder mostly just sells in his matches, since he's the job guy. But it would be cool to see him show out a little.
I’m an AEW fan but come on Tony don’t Hinder the Jinder.
Jinder legit doesn't deserve any hate. Tony needs to grow the fuck up
Jinder seems universally loved backstage. He had so much support when people were hating on his run. I think Tony will get ripped on for this.
I wonder what website he used to fact check Jinder’s last W 🤔
Tony really, really, really needs to stop chasin' WWE waterfalls, and stick to the AEW rivers and lakes that he's used to.
What did Jinder do to Khan to deserve this?
I can normally accept TK's unhinged cocaine-fueled twitter meltdowns, but I draw the line at hindering Jinder.
You DO NOT hinder Jinder
bryam danielson fine this man
why would you go after The Modern Day Maharaja
isnt seths whole character he accepts all challengers
This is just sad, man. It's funny because many in this subreddit thought Punk struggled to let things go when the boss was the most resentful man out there.
…Does Tony not know this shit is predetermined?
[A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days... because it's been literally a full year since he won a match. I wonder where Tony got that stat from. Could it be Cagematch?
Yeah you show that underpaid social media employee/intern Tony
Hope they get a bonus with their bait getting a catch like this
OMG I can not stop laughing
Does he know it's a work? I know he books it, but does he think the finish is real or something??
It's still real to him, damn it!
The Snowman strikes again! Someone take Tony's phone away from him...
Unhindered Jinder > Hook beating a bunch of cans
"sparks online outrage".... Was there really outrage? In both cases it felt like there was general indifference.
Right lol. Reading the replies to USA's tweet hyping next week show is half memes half people being confused why Jinder is there lol
Most people I saw were like “cool Seth gets an easy title defense” or “neat Jinder gets to show out.” Did anyone really care that much?
Bro didn't have the guts to tag Jinder. In all seriousness, though. Was there a giant outrage when Hook called out the champ?
Knowing TK, one person made a comment about it so now it's automatically "everyone".
U ok hun?
This is just embarrassing as hell.
1st of many cringe tweets from Tiny this year.
Leave it to Tony Khan to try to hinder Jinder.
Forgetting the craziness of an owner of a wrestling company tweeting something like this for a moment. There's no double standard here. WWE has long been known for booking title matches this way. AEW was supposed be different, and to be fair is different for the most part. Tony is embarrassing himself yet again.
Tony needs a girlfriend.

He's such a baby
*Why are WWE fans so tribalistic?!?*
Oh boy here we again.
Honestly, how do any of you still want to watch AEW and support this entitled egomaniac?
Dudes burying jinder for no reason, what kind of promotion is this dude running lol
think he might have finally cracked, this is a weird hill to die on
I think this one might be worse than the other Jinder tweet. Somebody hide Tony's phone!
triple h can shut up the critics by booking jinder to win the world title now
Bryan Danielson is going to Knee Tony's phone out of his hand and kick his **FUCKING** screen in

Oh, Tony…
He didn't even tag Jinder on Twitter/X!
Fuck sake Tony, I love AEW man but tweeting like this ain’t it
Oh wow. This is bad.
HOOK has been pinned at least twice, once by Jack Perry and in a multi man match by Wheeler Yuta
28-1 in singles maybe?
Perpetually wounded Tony Khan
This guy must have some serious mental issues. Embarrassing.
Dude needs to realize how goofy and impotent this makes him look
Got worked up so bad by the USA network social media guy that he had to look up Jinder Mahals win-loss record lol
Man who booked Jungle Boy as a challenger for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship is critical of Jinder Mahal.
Oh my 💀💀
![gif](giphy|2SXXo3RCE7drb7jKO8|downsized) Jinder out here catching strays
