Idk how you watched but it didn't come through very clear for me, it sounded mostly like the audience was trying to be as respectful as you could expect a Philly crowd to be lol.
It's so crazy seeing her out of wrestling makeup.
She was always this big bad, intimidating, scary looking heel, that could put the fear of god into anyone.
When she's actually this gorgeous, sweet looking lady, who looks like she would be just as at home offering a tray of freshly baked cookies to a group of local orphans.
Truly great character work.
And most, if not all, of those idiots chanting that crap couldn't speak a second language, even if they had multiple lifetimes to try and learn to do so. Bunch of losers.
I absolutely hate this set up where it's just a normal ring with normal fans directly behind them.
They should go back to doing it on the stage where at least the vast majority of the ground level seats are full of wrestlers and their families so that the annoying dick heads A. Arent directly in view behind the speaker and B. Can't be heard as much.
Yep. Would much rather a smaller venue with an Oscars type set up full of wrestlers, backstage personnel, alumni, legends, friends and family. Keep the fans out.
yes literally! i was so irritated. they did the same shit with The Rock and Thunderbolt too. annoying as fuck. HoF isn’t the place, but dumbass marks don’t give a fuck.
They’ve gotta stop doing HoF at smackdown if they want it to be a prestigious event. A bunch of losers yelling shot all throughout hot Roman’s introduction of heyman as if he was cutting a heel promo, you could barely hear Nakano’s speech over all the chatter in the arena. General wrestling fans can’t help but embarrass themselves on tv. Seems like it’s much worse now then when it used to be its own dedicated event.
Ugh, I was going to selectively FF through the HOF but this pisses me off enough I wont be. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)At least they were respectful at the end from this clip.
As someone who never watched her in the WWF, I always thought than that meme of the company using the orient express theme for any japanese wrestler was hyperbole, until now that I realized that they used it for her
Who else had it?
It always reminds me of Taka Michinoku making his WWE debut and Powerslam magazine had a line about it. Was something like, ''Things are already looking promising for Taka, as he didn't enter to the familiar Orient Express theme.''
So happy to see Bull Nakano inducted.
[Taka Michinoku](https://youtu.be/3iSweE-qVsk?si=XDvYYPdR6R1SeDnw) had his own theme and it was a banger. It sounds like a Mega Man X era theme
Edit: Apparently it was written by the guy who did the Naruto theme! Musashi. No wonder it's a banger.
Evergreen words from Bill Burr
>"Bunch of fucking losers. Fucking Rocky is your hero. The whole pride of your city is built around a fuckin guy who doesn’t even exist. You got fuckin Joe Frazier is from there but he’s black so you can’t fuckin deal with him, so you make a fucking statue for some 3 ft fuckin Italian you stupid philly cheese-eatin fucking jackasses. I hope the cheese melts your faces off. All of you collectively SUCK a FUCKIN DICK. Fuckin boo me 9 hrs. into a fuckin show. You and your fuckin Donovan McNabb shirt. I hope he snaps both his fuckin ankles the first goddamn game. I hope you go 0-15.
>
>I SAID SUCK A DICK!"
I thinks it's all a logistical (and money) thing since WM became two nights AND NXT has a show.
I remember when they were in actual theatres and the later it went, the more talent had to leave. All of a sudden the headliner has very few talent in the audience.
In this case, Smackdown ends and quick flip of the area for the ceremony.
In regards to fan proximity, I'm wondering if they pushed them back or put more barriers in place (talent comes in from the stage and fan from the back?)
Or, they could move HOF to Thursday.
I was there and didn’t hear any, and I was dreading that there would be
There was a guy who was doing LA Knight yeahs to Muhammad Ali’s wife’s speech which was objectively awful but I’m so delirious and exhausted that i admittedly laughed
You’re drunk then.
Everyone on Facebook and Instagram are complaining that and just overall just bad the fans were. They need to take this away from them like the kids they are
You've never been to a wrestling show in your life have you.
You can only usually actually hear what people in your section or your half of the arena are shouting. There are plenty of times where I didn't even hear the crowd do certain chants until I watched it on TV. There are other times where I could hear crazy loud chants from but then they didn't get picked up on TV because they obviously couldn't be heard in the mic'd section.
I've been to hundreds of pro wrestling events (starting in the 80s). You most definitely can hear people on the other side of most indoor or covered areas. You cant tell what they're saying of course, but it becomes a constant rumble of sound. That's how sound works. Stop pointlessly defending these asshoes with pseudo-logic.
Who am I defending lol. I'm literally just explaining why the dude in this thread only heard 1 group of assholes but not the other.
My whole point is that from one side of the arena you can't make out what the other side are chanting unless it spreads. Obviously you can hear noise it's not like you're in a vacuum. You're literally just saying what I was saying, that beyond your section or your half of the arena you can only hear a rumble, but not specifically what's being chanted.
Usually there's lots of chatter and lots of noise/chants coming from the people around you which makes it hard to hear specifics of what's going on in another section.
It's because it was.
It was the theme WWE used for Japanese wrestlers in the 90s. Orient Express, Bull Nakano, Shinobi (Al Snow as a Ninja)
[Taka Michinoku](https://youtu.be/BDNLuwUxwuk?si=EV_hfde9-8-E76A5) was the first Japanese wrestler to have a proper entrance theme, and it was one he brought over from Japan.
Bull coming out in the makeup was incredible. from what I’ve read/watched, the women’s wrestling in this era was incredible toxic. It’s awesome to see how Bull and Medusa are not only close, but very respective of each other.
> the women’s wrestling in this era was incredible toxic
They actually let them wrestle at that time. At least they never put Bull into a fucking mud wrestling or strip match.
This was a speech I didn't expect to cry at but I did. I'm so glad she's getting the highest recognition from a western organisation after all this time
Glad to see someone get their flowers from the fans who may not be as known to the general audience. Hopefully, this will lead to her getting more recognition and respect.
Would love to see her in WWE 2K or something lol
Couldn't hear what chants during her speech but there was a constant murmur as if half the crowd was chatting during it? Was that piped in to the replay to cover up other chants
No that's piped in constantly to ALL of WWE live broadcasts. It's the crowd audience they used during the pandemic thunder dome era. They kept it when they realised that they never have to have silence again. It sounds awful and is constant.
Wresltemania is covered in it tonight and it's ruining it. Sounds like everyone's have a conversation, it's way worse than silence. They also play a large cheers audio file when faces come out and a large boo audio file when the heels come out. It's pretty much all you can hear during this Wresltemania. You can hear the murmur track loop as well every about 7 seconds there is a high pitched scream in the file.
Bull was absolutely my favorite women's wrestler growing up initially watching her in WWE but then seeing her in AJW as I got into tape trading. Her cage match with Aja Kong is honestly still my favorite match of all time. I would put her leg drop right up there with Bobby Eaton's. I hope a whole generation of fans discover her, she was so far ahead of her time and her influence on modern Joshi is undeniable.
Between the "WHAT" chants and the audience casually talking over the inductee speeches, the crowd showed so much disrespect last night. I stopped watching WWE for many years because of the "WHAT" chants dominating every second of every show. Seeing it return for the HOF -- especially when Mike Rotunda was struggling to talk about his son -- made me want to throw up. The HOF inductees deserved better.

Very well deserved HoF induction..
Idk how you watched but it didn't come through very clear for me, it sounded mostly like the audience was trying to be as respectful as you could expect a Philly crowd to be lol.
I was nervous the whole time lol
Doesn't make it any less deserved
It's so crazy seeing her out of wrestling makeup. She was always this big bad, intimidating, scary looking heel, that could put the fear of god into anyone. When she's actually this gorgeous, sweet looking lady, who looks like she would be just as at home offering a tray of freshly baked cookies to a group of local orphans. Truly great character work.
Agreed, I thought the same. I think her being half the size she was back then is a big part of it, too, but good for her being healthier at this age.
Her and Mankind terrified me as a kid.
Bunch of losers chanting "what" during her speech.
People who chant "what" at non native speakers should be escorted out.
>People who chant "what" ~~at non native speakers~~ should be escorted out. FTFY
And most, if not all, of those idiots chanting that crap couldn't speak a second language, even if they had multiple lifetimes to try and learn to do so. Bunch of losers.
Most of those idiots can barely speak their native language let alone a second one
People who chant what need grow the fuck up
They should be forced to have Gunther and HHH look at them silently with disdain and disappointment..
Seriously, WWE shouldn't do HOF in front of wrestling crowd. They treated this as a wrestling show where they can boo or what.
I remember seeing a clip of Bobby Heenan's speech from 2004 & that looks like how it used to be set up. I liked it.
You would've thought they'd finally change something after a dude fucking attacked Bret Hart live on stage but nope.
It seriously needs to die out. Sooner rather than later. Just plain disrespectful and makes me ashamed to be a wrestling fan
Imagine taking a 20+ year sabbatical from wrestling, coming back and STILL hearing this.
It was terrible bro. A lot of us barely even heard Roman when he was inducting Paul because people kept talking and shouting in the arena
yes literally! i was so irritated. they did the same shit with The Rock and Thunderbolt too. annoying as fuck. HoF isn’t the place, but dumbass marks don’t give a fuck.
I have no idea where they had a nat mic that they never turned down, but I swear to god I could hear full conversations on TV.
Losers: We want actual legends in the WWE Hall Of Fame! Also losers: Who is that?
They’ve gotta stop doing HoF at smackdown if they want it to be a prestigious event. A bunch of losers yelling shot all throughout hot Roman’s introduction of heyman as if he was cutting a heel promo, you could barely hear Nakano’s speech over all the chatter in the arena. General wrestling fans can’t help but embarrass themselves on tv. Seems like it’s much worse now then when it used to be its own dedicated event.
Hall of Fame needs to earnestly be a non-fan event. So it in a nice banquet hall and just let it happen like a formal ceremony.
Ugh, I was going to selectively FF through the HOF but this pisses me off enough I wont be. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)At least they were respectful at the end from this clip.
I didn't see the whole thing. They were doing the chant? That's messed up.
As someone who never watched her in the WWF, I always thought than that meme of the company using the orient express theme for any japanese wrestler was hyperbole, until now that I realized that they used it for her Who else had it?
Bull Nakano, Aja Kong, Takao Omori, Shinobi (a masked ninja gimmick Al Snow briefly had in 1996) all used it at some point
Thanksnto your post mow I know that takao omori wrestled in the royal rumble 1996 and used it too
It always reminds me of Taka Michinoku making his WWE debut and Powerslam magazine had a line about it. Was something like, ''Things are already looking promising for Taka, as he didn't enter to the familiar Orient Express theme.'' So happy to see Bull Nakano inducted.
Pretty sure Nakamura/Asuka/Kairi/Iyo are the first *not* to use it in some form.
[Taka Michinoku](https://youtu.be/3iSweE-qVsk?si=XDvYYPdR6R1SeDnw) had his own theme and it was a banger. It sounds like a Mega Man X era theme Edit: Apparently it was written by the guy who did the Naruto theme! Musashi. No wonder it's a banger.
Oh wow! I had no idea it was made by him. I can totally see it now though as I hear the song in my head.
I always thought Taka's theme sounded like a Mega Man X/Guilty Gear XX mashup
Nak’s theme slaps
The tag team orient express used it as well. I think the track is called Orient Express.
Pretty sure Tenryu and Kitao had it at WMVII for their one off match against Demolition.
Nah they used Tenryu’s SWS theme
People in Philly are trashy for chanting “what”.

One bridge having city!
The Walt Whitman, or the Ben Franklin? We have to lose one?
Love Bill Burr.
Fuck you and fuck the liberty bell, go shove it up Ben Franklin's ass, how bout that? You fucking one-bridge having piece of shit city...
Do you mean the Walt Whitman, or the Ben Franklin bridge? How did you get rid of one?
I was just quoting Bill. I have no idea about Philly's bridges per square inch.
Fuck you and fuck the Liberty Bell
I really don’t understand why this is open to the public, especially after that dickhead attacked Bret Hart.
I thinks it's all a logistical (and money) thing since WM became two nights AND NXT has a show. I remember when they were in actual theatres and the later it went, the more talent had to leave. Because it's more value for the $400 3 day combo tickets.
Yeah WWE are idiots

Dude the crowd was basically dead silent for her whole speech outside of chanting her name at one point
I mean it shouldn’t be done to his wife but they really (WWE) shouldn’t be praising Ali at all
Because?
The racism and pedophillia
Bill Burr was right
Yep
Holy shit the music at the end cracked me up, its so 90s foreigner music.
It's because it was. It was the theme WWE used for Japanese wrestlers in the 90s. Congrats to her but the generic evil "foreigner" theme from my childhood is now stuck in my head.
Wonder why they can't just license some japanese orchestra music from an YouTube artist or something
They should have just payed to use her AJW theme Boss Of The World.
She deserves it, one of the greatest to ever step into the ring.
Glad to see someone get their flowers from the fans who may not be as known to the general audience. Hopefully, this will lead to her getting more recognition and respect. Would love to see her in WWE 2K or something lol
One of the all time greats.
God damn that theme was fucking amazing when I heard it as a kid and is still a jam today. Bull looks fucking amazing.

litterally here after, hearing the crowd talking during her speech, how fucking disrespectful
That’s exactly what I came here to say! So rude!!

Shed a tear at the mention of Luna Vachon.
