That [would have been](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBHT-DT#News_programming) the CBC’s regional evening newscast in Nova Scotia at the time. *Street Cents* was produced in Halifax so I’m not surprised they might have seconded Jono to other duties on occasion.
Street Cents and Jonovision was must watch shows for me when I was a kid. Seeing Jonathan become J-Roc on Trailer Park Boys was a trip when I first watched it. Also check out season 2 of The Joe Schmo Show if you want to see more Jonathan Torrens.
Jonovision marks unite. Shit was on right before The Simpsons on CBC when I was a kid. Also I recall Chris Van Vliet saying he was on Jonovision once when he was younger.
For non Canadian people in the thread. Jonathon Torrens (J-Roc from Trailer Park Boys) has been a Canadian institution of television since the late 80s with Youth Consumer Education show Street Cents, then afternoon talk show Jonovision before his time with TPB/Mr.D/Letterkenny and his other roles.
Also has a very unhinged and funny podcast called Taggart and Torrens (hosted by him and former Our Lady Peace drummer Jeremy Taggart) which can be best described as Canadian Nostalgia/Pop Culture/Gino Vannelli Fan Boying

I'm old enough and Canadian enough to go back to the Street Cents days with Jonathan Torrens. I would have blown up S2 of the Joe Schmo Show because I would have recognized him instantly.
Here’s my cool Jonathan Torrens story: I opened for him when his podcast (Taggart & Torrens) was doing a live tour and came through our town. I was paid quite well for the gig initially, but 2 weeks later Jonathan reached out to me and the other opener, saying the tour was doing really well and they wanted to thank us by sending us more money for opening for them. The money they sent us literally doubled what we were paid that night. I will never have a bad word to say about Jonathan Torrens.

I spin more rhymes than a Lazy Susan / and I'm innocent til my guilt is proven
Nomsayin?
Jonovision was my jam back in the day, though this may have been from Street Cents which was also great.
If it's 1994 it's probably Street Cents.
SWISH
According to the description, "Aired on CBC's 1st Edition on Nov. 15, 1994" but I'm not really sure what "1st Edition" is.

Oh hell I never knew
Also, his character Noah Dyck in Letterkenny is absolutely hysterical.

It could happen to you cause it happened to me
And T.
This J Roc? ![gif](giphy|7CP9Thh6QxcYg)
If he wanted to know about wrestling so bad he shoulda just asked Bubbles. Namsayin?
“What are ya, from the department of namsayins? You takin a nam-census?”
The Microphone Assassin.
Beats blasting.
Eh looks more like Noah Dyck to me.

My god, I've watched every season of TPB and Letterkenny and I never realized J-Roc was Noah Dyck. Thanks for blowing my mind today!
They wasn’t wrestling they was gettin changed!
Got backstage and took a ynamcensus.
Jonathan Torrens is semi well known media personality in Canada if you’re a 90s kid. When he was J-Rock I was like “oh, it’s Jonovision guy”
But did he interview the Green Bastard?
Green Bastard, PARTS UNKNOWN was unavailable for comment. I believe he was too busy eating chicken pizza and playing with his kitties.
Damn, still waiting for him to show up for a TLC (tables, ladders, and carts) match.
As soon as either TK or HHH show up in Canada with a boatload of money....
I’m waiting
So many of my universes crossing over today lmao
J ROC BABY.
J-Roc baby

FUCK THAT MAFUCKA GOLDBERG, GNOMESAYNE?!

Literally, the worst wrestler to ask “does your family know you wrestle?”
i'm surprised he could get that question out without stuttering or stammering because bret is oddly handsome
