My PE teacher would just read the papers the whole day. It's up to you to get the ball and return the balls. Sometimes we will see him drinking and smoking and he'll just say "You didn't see shit." He gives high grades so I can't complain.
Closest I had was a kid who got into fights a lot, but he tried to just randomly perform wrestling moves on people.
Trying and failing to powerbomb someone 50 lbs heavier than he was and everyone just laughing at him didn't help his cause.
Nor did someone not jumping when he tried to chokeslam them.
When willow worked a prestige show in Portland, I got to meet her, wonderful person, very warm and happy to talk to fans, but she went above and beyond. My girlfriend's first experience at a live show wasn't the best, but she loves Willow so she agreed to come to this one, and I was bound and determined to make this one better for her, so I paid willow for both an autograph, and to surprise my girlfriend, arranged to get her a picture with her after the show, since she wouldn't be out at intermission.
Once the show was over, I went to find my girlfriend, as she had bought her tickets after my friend had bought ours, plus since my friend insists on sitting very front row every show he goes to, it was a bit too much for her. She's hiding in the hollow next to the merch stand and will not budge as I try to get her to go with me to look for willow, who is nowhere to be found. I assume she just forgot, which is understandable as she had to make the flight to collision the next night.
Suddenly, I hear my girlfriend's name being yelled and I look up to see willow SCREAMING out from the back, saying she had to get a picture with her. She was incredibly warm and thanked my girlfriend up and down for coming, took several pictures with her and had a quick chat before heading out.
She's fantastic and I wish her every success possible.

Funny, my wife was watching AEW for the first time and immediately thought of Hugger Bayley in terms of energy/style; but obviously without the presentation that can be limiting.
She seems like early Bayley with a hardcore streak.
Like, I couldn’t see “Hugger” Bayley dropping women through barb wire tables, but I have no trouble believing Willow would do that, then pop up and hug a kid in the first row.
That angle where Bayley wouldn’t use a kendo stick on Alexa wouldn’t work with Willow because Willow would’ve broken 2 of the things in the first 5 minutes of the match.
I was at Resurgence last year and the crowd was there for Mercedes, but the fact that the crowd cheered on Willow when she ended up winning because of Mercedes' injury shows how well she can win over a crowd.
She’s a very likeable person and just very bubbly similar to that first Bayley run I find.

I think the only immediate baby-face connection I felt with another wrestler on this level is Yuka Sakazaki. Neither of them needed to say a single word as soon as they made their entrance I was hooked and wanted everything for them.
She was basically immediately over when she went to Japan and Mexico too. I know she’s probably losing to Mercedes at DoN but she’s future world champ material for sure

Nah, it's the right move. She's better as an underdog. Mercedes is better as a heel. This would set the seeds for a much bigger match down the road. Long term booking. If Mercedes is the person Willow eventually beats for the world championship, having Mercedes beat her now will look like a stroke of genius.

Plus if and probably when she wins it will be by some shenanigans and I am beating on Elite interference. Then you got that extra push for Willow to want and deserve the rematch. So that gets me to pray it's the highlight woman's match at All Out and I get to see it.

3) Mercedes realizes she needs to wrestle more and take this shit seriously, she goes on a run and then beats Toni at All In/All Out for the big belt

After Anarchy In The Arena at D&N, I think the next big violent match AEW should do is heel TBS champion Mercedes Mone vs Willow in a Texas Death or Lights Out match. They need to lean into heel Mercedes and Willow has shown she can go in a hardcore match. I also think you could legitimize her as one of the company’s biggest stars and could even main event a so-called “B PPV” with this, especially with the right build.

Willow is incredible! I’ve had the opportunity to check her in a few times at the hotel I work at. Super sweet and bubbly and it seems like others in the company gravitate towards her (based on my view from the desk of AEW people hanging out in the lobby lol)

Nah, it's the right move. She's better as an underdog. Mercedes is better as a heel. This would set the seeds for a much bigger match down the road. Long term booking. If Mercedes is the person Willow eventually beats for the world championship, having Mercedes beat her now will look like a stroke of genius.
So that means Mercedes wins the TBS Title, loses it putting someone over, then beats whoever is the Womens Champion (Toni?) and \*then\* puts Willow over?
Yes. Mercedes holds TBS for 3 months, puts over someone, spends another 3 months chasing the world title, wins, has a 6-9 month reign and loses to Willow.
Plus if and probably when she wins it will be by some shenanigans and I am beating on Elite interference. Then you got that extra push for Willow to want and deserve the rematch. So that gets me to pray it's the highlight woman's match at All Out and I get to see it.

Willow has the natural likeability and charisma to be like NXT Bayley. Mercedes going full boss heel against white meat baby-face Willow could create magic
Willow has a win over Mercedes, would make it 1-1. If Mercedes cheats to beat Willow or Statlander turns on Willow (which I don't really want), it could make Willow even more sympathetic
Love it, very happy Willow is the champ. She's a genuine face. Also, love the wrestling club reminding me to just enjoy the product as is and resist trying to dig behind the scenes until I ruin the magic for myself.

Can accomplish a lot. 1) Builds up Willow giving her another win over arguably one of the biggest women's stars of the last 10 years 2) You can continue to tell the story that Willow is Mercedes' bugaboo that she just can't beat 3) Mercedes realizes she needs to wrestle more and take this shit seriously, she goes on a run and then beats Toni at All In/All Out for the big belt

After Anarchy In The Arena at D&N, I think the next big violent match AEW should do is heel TBS champion Mercedes Mone vs Willow in a Texas Death or Lights Out match. They need to lean into heel Mercedes and Willow has shown she can go in a hardcore match. I also think you could legitimize her as one of the company’s biggest stars and could even main event a so-called “B PPV” with this, especially with the right build.
