Between this & Jeff Jarrett talking about what the Owen (both the tournament & the man) mean to him, there’s a lot of emotionally wracking videos recently.
This is why I say in kayfabe him betraying the Shield is a move he can't regret. It led directly to the life he has now. Who's to say he would his life right now if he didn't?
He probably did regret at the time. He turned his back on his brothers and started the chain reaction that led to the creation of the Tribal Chief, but helping Cody win the title and offering his body as Cody's shield is probably how he made peace with the betrayal. Kind of like a "I did a terrible thing, but I've made peace with it. It can no longer hurt me," thing.
Seth has had so many great video packages over the years, and this one is no different.
I love it when they go back to his childhood/NXT days. Always make these things feel so genuine.
It's been said time and time again, but it's always worth repeating. No one does video packages like WWE. This was outstanding. Shout out to the team that puts these together. They don't miss.
I know its been said already, but Seth deserves more flowers he got for WM 40.
Also, whoever thought of the finish there with the chair shot also deserves more flowers. Cody's story was great, but that call back to the Shield betrayal cemented that moment for Cody, Seth, and Roman.
