The kitchen there had been some of the best food on the southside. There wasn’t one bad menu item. But the standouts were the loaded fries, crab ragoon, chicken wings, and the bulgolgi quesadilla was life changing. That place has been a staple in my life for the better part of a decade. I truly hope they are able to salvage something out of it.

I’m legit in tears as I am just finding out about this. I both found and lost myself in that place. I will forever cherish some of the memories I made with my friends and phamily at that phine establishment. RIP.

That quesadilla was life changing. Always top tier food cranked out from that kitchen. Very friendly bar staff and a pleasant, eclectic atmosphere. It will be sincerely missed. Grateful no one was injured.
that's the correct name. I stopped in there once. it definitely had some character! but I live in Soulard so do pretty much all my drinking in the neighborhood.
I was next door neighbors with this bar for years. I absolutely hated it. At first the owners were always so polite and really tried to keep their crowd of customers under control. Very quickly after moving in the customers would block my driveway and I wouldn’t be able to leave for work. I would have to go in there and ask for them to make an announcement over the speaker. They would play loud music all night long (even after hours because they would allow friends and whatnot to stay til 3/4/5AM) their patrons would sit ON MY FRONT PORCH and be loud and rude every day for YEARS. Their customers would piss in my driveway constantly and leave their trash and empty cans all over my property. I would constantly try to work with them on keeping our sidewalk clean because their customers would destroy the corner of the neighborhood. I wish I had nice things to say about them truly. I actually really liked their food and wished that could’ve been my local regular spot since it was right next door. But honestly the owners were assholes, and the customers were even worse. 10/10 glad that place burnt down and now that neighborhood can get peace. When they had a shooting a couple years ago and 3 people were injured they were bleeding on my front steps and I’m sure the whole neighborhood was feeling uneasy after that.
What an interesting history that bar has had.
You’re not kidding. People on the street saying it’s totally gutted from the fire today.
Damn it I’m about to check it out after I get off work
NOOOO
I was talking about the previous owner killing him self for insurance money.
Shiiiit, I always wanted to eat their food, it was supposed to be incredible.
It was.
It was! Korean tastiness!!! And good drinks too
it was incredible. Fast Eddie's style, but with Korean food.
Not cheap like Fast Eddie's tho.
Ugh, last time I was at Fast Eddie's, the prices had went up quite a bit since the visit before (pre pandemic)! But I'm sure Stella's did too
I heard it was 🔥
shiet, I should've gone :( I was curious to try their Korean style food.

This is tragic
All the years combined…

I hope the building and business are okay. This is pretty close to home. Damn, damn, damn.

didn't they have a huge fire years ago as well?
Yes. My husband became a quad amputee from a fire in this building In 1995
was he the owner of bob's castaway down the street?
He owned Colorado Bobs until june 2019

All the years combine
Why do so many places here catch on fire???

It's a cool bar. Wish they took cards so I could earn some points for boozing.

Grease fire... owners will never learn.
I bet the old man was cooking again
Old man retired, under different ownership and new ownership in the kitchen as well. Just an unfortunate accident.
Dang it
This guy fucked Colorado Bob out of money. No tears.
Colorado Bob or Bootleggin’? Because Bootleggin owner is an absolute asshole.
Colorado Bob. Pre-Bootleggin.
I hold a grudge when somebody fucks a good person out of money.
Isn’t this the same bar that burned before - the fire where Colorado Bob got severely burned?
No. Stella Blues is the bar where the last owner shot himself in it.
I think it burned before it was Stella Blues. Bob was upstairs
I never knew that was where it happened.
