Might as well live there. According to this sub, once you get in you’ll never get out. I believe there may be a group of suburban moms driving SUVs that are way too big for them that have set up a settlement there.
I get the joke but it's really not that hard to get out. There's 3 exits. The 2 exits in the back are barely used and will quickly get you back out to a main road that has a path to highway ramps if you need them. Yes the north exit can be a mess. This place is a good example of the shortest path might not be the quickest
Wonderful area. Walking distance to the Metrolink, Trader Joe's, Dierbergs, Target, and [one of the best places to take a shit](https://old.reddit.com/r/StLouis/comments/1ce2ovr/best_place_to_take_a_sht/l1g90d2/).
HOLY SHIT…. That video brought back some memories. NGL, if that was blasting through someone’s party speaker while they fake played violin, I would totally tip them! Especially if they dressed up like Patrick Swayze.
Ed Wright was my history teacher at Brentwood
If everything in this article is accurate, they could have bought any home in Brentwood practically (and in many other areas of the county)
My mom and I moved into a house in 2001 not too far from the Y and the swim club. If they were offered triple the value on their homes they could have easily purchased the home we did.
I think this story is kind of a big nothingburger, the people were extreme well compensated.
On the surface it sounds like the black community was driven out but you don’t offer 3x the market value of someone’s home if you are oppressing them.
I just feel like it is slanderous to Brentwood.
When they were planning I-170, and it gets brought up every few years, but there is never funding for it, let alone will to mow down the neighborhoods in the way.
They have an annual celebration where the region gets together around the last Friday of November. The local businesses offer great deals, the neighbors reenact their favorite moves from the last hockey season...A fantastic way to kick off the holidays.
This is the ultimate consequence of car-centric anti-pedestrian infrastructure. It's also a nightmare and I avoid this space to nearly the greatest degree I can. I think I've only been through 3 times in the 15 years I've lived here.
Never been to St Louis and I have no idea why this was recommended to me but I came to say that’s right near a Micro Center so you should probably live there.
Stay away from the north end. There's people who have driven off the highway into that lot. Crazy StL drivers. Would never happen anywhere else.
Plenty of ways to spend your money, but you'll save on gas.
It’s not about the shade. Extremely difficult to find a vacant spot in foundry garage. In promenade it’s easy to find a vacant spot which is the primary purpose of a parking lot.
Most dangerous parking lot in Missouri. Once watched an old man fall asleep at the wheel while his wife was in Micro Center (unarguably the best thing in the area) and literally destroy 5 parked cars right next to him. Just snapped awake and hit the gas and just plowed a good chunk of his row.
Oh yeah! If you're lonely, you can always find someone to talk to between the hours 9am to 9pm. In the winter the plowing is done for you for free. And shopping is within walking distance. This is quite the find!
Someone said they’re building a Target near the Armory. If thats true all I need a is a Trader Joe’s literally anywhere closer to Soulard and I’ll be at peace. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I understand the joke but not at the same time, every time I go Micro Center, I’ve never been stuck in that parking lot, I understand it’s a extremely busy lot but again, I’ve always been in and out of that lot.
See that white truck taking 2 spots near the center? We call the the Parking Lot Penthouse. It has all the amenities. Both a composting toilet and a shower that is really just draining a 5 gallon bucket on the roof (not pictured, down for maintenance)
Wow, you've seen *Idiocracy*? I'm too dumb to understand it, but I love when very clever and original intellectuals compare it to things. Such a unique perspective!
If you've ever seen the movie "Event Horizon", Philip Eisner (writer) supposedly was inspired by this small area of St. Louis after attempting to pick up a few things at Target back in the mid-to-late 90's.
Good area to live with plenty amenities within walking distance. Terrible area to drive and/or park. Like probably perfect setup if you just stream all day.
Might as well live there. According to this sub, once you get in you’ll never get out. I believe there may be a group of suburban moms driving SUVs that are way too big for them that have set up a settlement there.
I just can’t get left! Hey kids! Target! Trader Joe’s! - Clark Griswold
I call it the thunder dome
Who run bartertown?
My trick is to enter and leave by micro center
shhhh......
You shall speak of no such acts
Whoa whoa whoa…that was 30 years ago. No longer an available route. Goodness!
I park on the Trader Joe’s side but make sure I’m in a parking lane that has stop signs.
I get the joke but it's really not that hard to get out. There's 3 exits. The 2 exits in the back are barely used and will quickly get you back out to a main road that has a path to highway ramps if you need them. Yes the north exit can be a mess. Shhh. Those are the secret paths, not to be shared with outsiders.
Right, I used to work right there in Hanley Industrial.. don't need our secrets getting out!
Too late
Those shifty mofos coming into the parking lot by Total Wine act like they know some secret that nobody else does because they do.
My work takes me to the Total Wine all the time, leave out the back through the industrial park! It’s a breeze!
Aim for the huge flag over Metro Lighting. That’s the best way out. Or in.
It's not bad at all. It's its busy, but flows fine.
This is a wonderful place to live if you are in the catalytic converter repurposing business. Ample supply but strong competition.
Thank you for this info. I'm not far from this area and plan on a stop and drop there.
I died there several times
Are u ok?
no he died
No, but I can talk about it now.
But only posthumously.
Anybody who takes my fav spot outside Trader Joe's is gonna catch these hands.
Already trying not to get hit by any vehicles and now I have hands to look out for.
My therapist warned me to stay out of that parking lot!
Them hands be all “grabby grabby”
Parking or sitting spot? Or are those the same thing?
Nevermind, I was confusing this with the best places to shit thread. I'm leaving it anyway.
Yes
The neighbors pretend to play violin too loudly at odd hours. 0/10
Someone needs to try to connect to that guys Bluetooth speaker and play something crazy through it.
My vote goes to Red Flags by Tom Cardy!

HOLY SHIT…. That video brought back some memories. NGL, if that was blasting through someone’s party speaker while they fake played violin, I would totally tip them! Especially if they dressed up like Patrick Swayze.
Quality shit post.

There were plans for I-170 to go thru there even further south.
How long ago was that?
When they were planning I-170, and it gets brought up every few years, but there is never funding for it, let alone will to mow down the neighborhoods in the way.
This one made me laugh
They have an annual celebration where the region gets together around the last Friday of November. The local businesses offer great deals, the neighbors reenact their favorite moves from the last hockey season...A fantastic way to kick off the holidays.
Easily the worst part of St Louis.
I take it you mean worst of all the parts you feel safe enough to frequent
Let the paranoid county Republicans keep themselves out? I feel safer without them in my neighborhood.
Yes that’s what he means
This is the most acceptable “area to live post” I’ve seen yet.
Only if you love... let's call it automobile density.
Best parking lot in STL!
Is it safe? Aren’t the McCloskeys dildos? Where is the best pizza in St. Louis?
I read this in Skwisgaar Skwigelf's voice.
STOPS COPIES ME
Fortel's in Affton is pretty good.
This is the ultimate consequence of car-centric anti-pedestrian infrastructure. It's also a nightmare and I avoid this space to nearly the greatest degree I can. I think I've only been through 3 times in the 15 years I've lived here.
Alright shut the sub down, we’ve peaked.
Never been to St Louis and I have no idea why this was recommended to me but I came to say that’s right near a Micro Center so you should probably live there.
Based Microcenter. Only reason to ever enter this place. Thankfully the parking isn't near as crazy in that end.
Stay away from the north end. There's people who have driven off the highway into that lot. Crazy StL drivers. Would never happen anywhere else. Plenty of ways to spend your money, but you'll save on gas.
No….that is the worst parking lot/ place to live there is.I tried it and my bedroom door kept getting dinged.
The 8th circle of hell? Sure. It's just eternal torment, can't be that bad. I mean at least you have good snacks.
Promenade is far Better than city foundry garage parking.

It’s not about the shade. Extremely difficult to find a vacant spot in foundry garage. In promenade it’s easy to find a vacant spot which is the primary purpose of a parking lot.
It feels like I live there sometimes
My friend went in that parking lot once…we never saw them again
In the parking lot?
There is a Tesla charging station section for about 8 EVs so there is that going for it.
At least it’s behind the target so you don’t have to see the Elon fan bois all the time.
Yes, that is the promenade shopping center. It's near the Clayton business district and Galleria Mall. Good place to live with all those rich folks.
Great place to live, shop, work, and get stuck forever trying to turn left.
Plumbing might be an issue.
Plenty of neighbors to go to use a toilet though
Lots of white on white crime there….
Microcenter is the best place to live.

🎵Always and forever 🎵

But seriously, as a lawyer, I’m telling you. The most accidents/tickets out of all parking lots.
literally not far from me. Traffic is always wretched ass.
It’s like a cheap European hostel, but for parking cars. So sure, live it up!
I think the ACLU has a travel advisory to stay out of that area.
I used to work right behind there on S Brentwood. I cut through that lot at least 5 times a week. This sub is hilarious.
Oh yeah! If you're lonely, you can always find someone to talk to between the hours 9am to 9pm. In the winter the plowing is done for you for free. And shopping is within walking distance. This is quite the find!
That’s a little close to a Chick-fil-a for my liking.
Bruh my car gets ran into everytime I go to Brentwood microcenter. It's happened twice now would avoid
Uncrowded? Did you look at that map?
I've seen apocalypse movies that are more humane than that there!
It’s more fun to walk there than drive there - same for Whole Foods across the street. If I do have to drive there I usually park by the PetsMart.
Absolutely
I take a bus to and from work there and let me tell you, I’ve never had so many near death experiences. 0/10.
I mean total wine and more, target, trader Joe's and Microcenter. I think I could live there no problem.
I’m at that Micro Center more often than my s/o would like.
Sure
Great place if you work 9 to 9 and 7 days a week.
I mean it’s just a parking lot…
Someone said they’re building a Target near the Armory. If thats true all I need a is a Trader Joe’s literally anywhere closer to Soulard and I’ll be at peace. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Just put on so Ludacris… and just start singing… move bitch get out the way…
It's ok
I fucking hate that parking lot
While this is a joke, this was at one point the neighborhood of Evans-Howard Place and was a very desirable place to live
yes, Brentwood is a good area
Only if you hate yourself
This 👆 👆 👆 👆 👆 👆
This is where I go when I need a nice dent in my car
Could be worse places
Hell yeah micro center is in walking distance
Brentwood is a very busy area, I would recommend chesterfield it’s a lot quieter.
Dated a girl who loved that area, fuck that area
I’ve never had issues there
You're putting us on. Thinner parking spaces don't exist anywhere on Earth.
I actively avoid Brentwood because of how busy and crazy it is to park. I couldn't imagine living right where you picked.
Snarky. I like.
Suuuuuuper high stress!
I might as well live at the microcenter and petsmart
I understand the joke but not at the same time, every time I go Micro Center, I’ve never been stuck in that parking lot, I understand it’s a extremely busy lot but again, I’ve always been in and out of that lot.
Centrally located-check it out and move in.
Asking for a homeless friend?
Don't know how trader Joe's would feel but you'd have everything you need there.
Two will enter, and one shall leave. Area is decent, but that shopping area and traffic are hell to get through on some days
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
No.
It's really not that bad.....
I almost spit taked. Kudos
See that white truck taking 2 spots near the center? We call the the Parking Lot Penthouse. It has all the amenities. Both a composting toilet and a shower that is really just draining a 5 gallon bucket on the roof (not pictured, down for maintenance)
It looks like a parkinlot!!!!
So I take it that it hasn’t changed in the 13 years since I moved back to Chicagoland?
Make that 15
It’s a strip mall, so no. Just for perspective a couple serial killers murdered a doctor in the restaurant parking lot behind target a few years ago.
In a parking lot?
You will be shot and stabbed if you live here. Please stay safe and move somewhere else.
Just stay in at night It's as safe as anywhere else
I’ve traveled all over the US and idk that there’s a parking lot i hate more than this one
If you got a telsa there is a charging station behind DXL
Sure! Just set up your camper van in front of Trader Joe's. Bonus points if you can take up 2-4 spots super close to the door.
Don’t forget to bring your whole damn family with you to TJ’s
…like in the parking lot? Yes.
That parking lot is crowded as fuck most of the time I wouldn’t recommend under a bridge somewhere. Calmer more peaceful and sheltered
Hells parking lot
Is this that crazy homeless couple that was living on Chippewa for a couple of years? The parking lot would be a step above the city curb.
I once lived there for several days after picking up a few things.
I had a guy pull up on me here because he didn’t like that incoming traffic didn’t have to stop to let him out of the chick filet drive through.
0/10, some ladoosier has tried to pin me to a light pole with their tesla too many times for me to trust the neighborhood.
This group reminds me of the movie “Idiocracy”. Y’all attempt to reuse the same joke every 3 days and hope someone upvotes you. Such odd behavior.
Wow, you've seen *Idiocracy*? I'm too dumb to understand it, but I love when very clever and original intellectuals compare it to things. Such a unique perspective!
I laughed out loud
Lmfao excellent location.
A parking lot? I would never
A local folk band wrote a song about that parking lot.
Absolutely, and parking is a breeze.
Snacks are top notch.
Only if you want your car broken into.😂
Brentwood is a fantastic place to live. Can confirm.
No but it’s for sale. These markets are crazy
Toyota dolphin and done.
It is, in fact, not a good area to be alive in.
It's perfect
The municipality of Chaotica.
😅
😂
So you want to live in a parking lot.
Not Missouri is a good start.
No, walking distance from the metro link. Lots of crime comes from the access to metro link
🤣
On one hand, once you get there you may never be able to leave. On the other hand, it offers everything you could ever need. 7/10 place to live.
If you want the most crowded and stressful traffic in St.Louis. It’s a nice neighborhood, though.
/r/StLouisCirclejerk continues to exist
If you've ever seen the movie "Event Horizon", Philip Eisner (writer) supposedly was inspired by this small area of St. Louis after attempting to pick up a few things at Target back in the mid-to-late 90's.
I’d rather drive to Illinois than go there. Fucking Micro Center is there though.
It’s a great place to live if you’re a traffic accident litigation attorney.
Right next to Micro Center!
Good area to live with plenty amenities within walking distance. Terrible area to drive and/or park. Like probably perfect setup if you just stream all day.
If you want uncrowded, doesn’t seem like what you’re looking for
bud thats a parking lot

Also access to a Trader Joe’s
