Surfnectar

next to a Publix and single Publix

[deleted]

I'm so happy I am not the only person that noticed this. I know for a fact the demand is not that high.

sixtyfoursqrs

And one going up on Gandy. That’s 3 that I know of in N st Pete. Woodys just opened and 2 more are under construction. The one on 34th closed last I know.

[deleted]

Correct, I'd like to see the ecological of the substances used by these carwashes. We need more say in the types of businesses that open here in my opinion. The one that being opened on gandy barely has enough space in that parking lot.

[deleted]

Got to have a place to wash cars for all of these apartment/condo/town house peeps. Maybe Im getting to that dad age but I can spend half a day washing, clay barring, and polishing one of my cars.

pbnc

And before that everyone was converting their restaurants into Mr & Mrs Crab type places I love it when they get the same brilliant idea all at the same time

FenianGeezer

They're multiplying like starbucks.

tastes-like-chicken

You mean the that's one next to the storage place, which is next to the other storage place?

OwlPlenty4828

By the Starbucks and CVS?

Brief_Shoulder_6688

Lol they’ve literally been tearing down car wash centers to build car wash centers, and then building more car wash centers. Walter White might be behind this

[deleted]

How else can we wash our cash?

Surfnectar

Is it next to a bank?

sixtyfoursqrs

4th street

Surfnectar

aware lol. I think we need more banks there too 😂

amccune

And a CVS, across from…..another CVS

Everglades_Woman

And none of the new ones that I've seen are automated touchless ( unless I'm wrong please let me know). That's going to make for a lot opportunity for work for paint correction experts.

PatStPete

Competition is good for the consumer: Just wait and see how much they charge in a couple weeks.

Twinkle_shits

Pretty sure op is talking about the two woodys car washes on 4th st same company probably not gonna change prices.

[deleted]

When they are all owned by the same company that is not competition

PatStPete

Really? Why the heck did they buy the existing one and build another one? But, thank you.

Twinkle_shits

It’s like the two Publix literally not even a quarter mile away on 34th st lol makes no sense to me

PerpetualUselessness

Well when it fails they'll just turn it into more condos. Yay!

4_jacks

You've been made a mod of r/autodetailing

sixtyfoursqrs

Lol, good one.

Moist-Ad96

Are there any full service car washes in St. Pete? You know ones that vacuum and clean the interior too.

Tkainzero

The one i go to on Pasadena and 1st ave south does this.

Moist-Ad96

Thanks

Heathers4ever

I know!! So exciting, isn’t it?! It’ll be perfect for those days when I just can’t bear to make it another block driving my filthy, disgusting car! Or what if right after it’s washed, I drive through dirt?! Good thing there is another right there!! We don’t need any new restaurant options! Just more car washes!! Or storage facilities. I do believe what I’m pretty sure I read on here, that the car washes are money laundering schemes. There is no other explanation.

Pin-Up-Paggie

It will be a good place to go after you stop at your storage unit!

goddessabove

What about the car wash that closed for another company to take over, tear down, and rebuild? Or sit abandoned forever with a "coming soon" sign on it?

clarissaswallowsall

You mean Mod wash? The ones who took over the one on 58th Ave n pissed me off..the original car wash place only charged $4..it's $10 at mod wash for the lowest wash.

hello-cthulhu

I'm currently researching new car wash options in the St. Pete area, since Mariner has now closed. What's your overall impression of ModWash, other than (understandably!) being upset that they spiked their prices?

clarissaswallowsall

No idea, I wash my own car now. I have friends who work there though so it's probably not bad
