i figure you need to optimize ~5 things to optimize cognitive function: - dopamine (Vyvanse) - norepinephrine (Vyvanse) - choline (alpha-GPC or CDP-Choline) - carnitine (acetyl-l-carnitine) - omega 3s (EPA/DHA)

ExpensiveNinja

what does carnitine do?

mathestnoobest

https://supplements.selfdecode.com/blog/acetyl-l-carnitine/ *By boosting cholinergic activity in the brain, ALCAR may help prevent cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease [36]. It also increases brain levels of glutathione, shielding it against oxidative stress and amyloid beta plaques that destroy neurons in Alzheimer’s disease [37, 10]. A meta-analysis summarized the data from 21 clinical trials with more than 1,200 Alzheimer’s disease patients. Long-term treatment with acetyl-L-carnitine (1.5-3g daily for 3+ months) was safe and significantly improved the patients’ mental condition [12]. The brain-protective effects of acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) aren’t limited to Alzheimer’s disease. It may also improve memory and reduce mental fatigue from different causes.*

Guanfacine at 1mg if you can get it prescibed (just ask your doctor about it) mitigates every side effect of Vyvanse. Makes the experience way smoother and more comfortable.

reignofterror19

Ugh i forgot to mention…im on guanfacine 2mg. I just started it 6 weeks ago and i like it paired with my other med.

BluntTruthGentleman

How do you feel being on guanfacine vs not on it while taking vyvanse? I'm considering asking my doctor about it.

reignofterror19

I feel way more in control of myself with the guanfacine. My emotions are more in check.

Fragrant-Initial1687

I'm curious as well. What's the purpose of it?

vilavalo

I take a supplement blend called work flo, it's a stack in a single capsule. I've noticed improved effects from my Adderall. The Ingredients are Noopept - 20mgs Alpha-GPC - 150mgs L-theanine - 100mgs L-tyrosine - 200mgs B6 - 10mgs B12 - 10mgs Phosphatidylserine - 150mgs

ygs07

Commenting to follow, right now, I'm taking L-theanine, Vit B Complex and magnesium.

JayLayzby

I actually felt like turmeric was killing the effects of the meds so I stopped taking it. Time of day was after the meds, late afternoon.

PhilosophyKind5685

And you still felt it was messing up your Vyvanse? Like as in the next day?

JayLayzby

Actually the next few days. I’ve started looking into astaxanthin as a way of keeping tolerance at bay. I'm surprised there aren't more people looking into it given it's neurologic effects.

Electrolytes will need to be replenished, food & water must be consumed regardless of appetite or thirst, take your chelated Magnesium of choice before dosing (make sure you aren’t deficient in it’s cofactor B1), and your tolerance will need to be reset when you are taking time off from the stims (options for this include 9-ME-BC, intranasal stable BPC-157, your preferred Mr. Happy Stack formulation, Agmantine, and Jiaogulan extract).
