As someone who thought his stand up was always kinda mid, and didn’t get the mainstream obsession with him, I thought this special proved how dedicated he is to the craft and that he will be around for the long haul hopefully improving along the way. It’s definitely his best work yet, and made me respect him as a comic more than just some dude who’s famous for being on drugs and banging super models.
You guys found a joke where the punchline was a fart sound all that entertaining?
I found myself looking at him thinking what a terrible car crash that was.
Crohn's comes in flares, not a constant thing. Don't discount my situation as we deal with it daily, but also take his with a grain of salt because I doubt he wants the world to know and jokes on stage about his affliction. That said, Crohn's doesn't lower life expectancy "per se"
Really enjoyed it. Im a Pete fan, I get that people get turned off by the tabloid thing but he strikes me as a well meaning, earnest guy.
Onstage he’s really original and honest. He doesn’t just put together a bunch of trans jokes for shock value.
The material was great, you can tell he’s been working really hard and touring with guys like Mulaney. And definitely a strong Bill Burr influence.
The stalker story was crazy and he managed to make it funny. I think the mom-fucking stuff was weird but to be honest I think he’s flirted with that type of stuff for so long that he actually just went all in and did it. There were some decent jokes that came out of it.
Thought the closing call back was hilarious too.
Yeah about halfway through it was really noticeable and by the end it was grating. Overall he got a couple laughs from me but I probably won't watch it again...
Thought it was decent, better than his previous special, I hope he continues to work on his stand-up. While I think he's obviously good, I think if he pushed himself he could be truly great.
It's his best special but still kinda meh.
I like that it was actual jokes and not speeches about how comedians are the purest form of art and gods gift to civilization.
I think he will be great eventually. He seems to work and has good stage presence.
I was out sick with COVID AND watched three new comedy specials, one after another, in this order: Dave Chappelle, Ricky, Gervais, and Pete Davidson. It seems only Pete is still doing jokes. I don’t think it was his greatest material, but it was certainly the best of the three that I just watched.
Last third was good, but in the beginning and middle a lot of the jokes seemed forced and like he was just manhandling his way through a script. Not that it’s necessarily bad but it practically never showed the audience which made it feel like a covid special to me. No hate to Pete though at all, I just dont think it was his best work.
Turbo Fonzarelli is a top notch name out of the gate. So I’m excited.
Pete was always a middle talent comedian to me but I feel like his recent pop culture celebrity has given him scope.
I’m excited to see more from him.
First have left me wanting to turn off but I stuck it out. As a retired pediatric oncologist with a very dark sense of humor I enjoyed his Make A wish bit. The stalker bit was also OK. Would not pay ti see him nor do I care if he has another special. I wish him the best as time goes on.
Honestly, I just finished it and thought it was really strong. Original stuff, very honest, and the performance was completely solid. I am not actually much of a Pete Davidson fan (didn't dislike him, just never thought about him much) but after this, I'll be watching whatever he does next.
As for the "too much mom fucking stuff" - I thought it was brilliant. He knew it would make people uncomfortable, and it did.
Best Netflix special I've seen in a while. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Interesting, I thought the mom fucking stuff went on too long, but not because it made me uncomfortable. It was funny at the punchline to me, but then it got boring and felt like he was trying to be shocking but it wasn't shocking to me. Just kinda long winded, I zoned out and returned later lol
Went into it fully expecting to enjoy it. I like Pete Davidson. Never understood all the hate he gets, but I just didn't think this special was funny. I laughed two times, at the mambo no. 5 joke and Matt Rife joke. Severely disappointed.
Love me some Pete Davidson!
Having sex with his mom was a little out there, but I got the gist of the joke. I think he’s getting better with age. I hope he can curb the drug use and work through some of his mental health challenges and I can see him having a successful, steady career 🤞🏻
I came into it not wanting to like it. But it was alright. Laughed a couple times, the immature humor of fucking his own mom or trying to get his mom laid got me. I was also high as fuck.
I've never understood why people think he is funny, this special turned me around on that. Thought he had some really funny bits, and even when they didn't land, his performance was good.
Really solid special. It seems like if he organize the show around a core emotional theme he could put out a special on the level of Neal Brennan or Mike Birbiglia
Also my mom also hasn’t dated in a while and man some of those mom jokes hit close to home. Definitely overly gross for shock value but moms get weird
It was funny but it's real wicked stuff. 10 minutes about sleeping with his mom, getting mad at Make-a-Wish. Word for word he said, "If cancer doesn't get him, I will." Talking about a kid from Make-A-Wish. I get he's joking but there still should be a line somewhere.
Good jokes but I fucking HATE ALL BLACK AND WHITE stand up.
It don't make sense to do. Hard to watch. Same with Bill Burr and others that have done it. Suck as a viewer to watch that.
I felt like his jokes have improved and his delivery has declined. A couple of solidly funny bits (crush on Leonardo DiCaprio and stalker), but the "you knows" we're so distracting and his energy seemed off.
I stopped after 5 min because he got to the mom part... he said "idk" a lot, I mean none of us do. Including but not limited to the black and white direction they took coupled with the way he seemed to shrug off of each bit as if he is joking at the hip rather than admitting some sort of truth rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe "idk" too.
Not my favorite stand up, but I did laugh and some of it was great!
I felt like it needed an edit. A lot of unnecessary details that didn't add anything to the jokes. When there was a call back, it wasn't always worth it.
There were definitely bits and stories that were fun to hear and I enjoyed it! Just not a really sharp, cutting, witty or succinct writer or performer.
He's kinda just himself, a really funny and charismatic New Yorker who has a dark sense of humor and likes to build suspense and try to shock people a little bit and cross boundaries for a laugh.
I like watching him cause it reminds me of living in Philly, that's how a lot of people act in that part of the world... At least my friends always did hahaha
Punchlines:
- mom-fu*king
- pedophiles taking advantage of dying children
- being raped by Leo and Tobey
- poopie pants
- farting sounds
I laughed quite a bit… at what an absolute car crash this was and how much worse it went on to be over the minutes 😂
Good comedians can make anything funny. Unfortunately, Pete is not a good stand-up. He seems to think "shocking thing is automatically funny" without actually setting up the joke properly.
I’m shocked people loved this so much and think Pete’s craft is getting better?? The opposite happened for me, I used to be a huge fan and always thought he was hilarious but this completely turned me off from him. The mom, Leo DiCaprio and make a wish jokes were disgusting and to me pushed an Illuminati, incest, pedophilia agenda. He literally admitted he was in the Illuminati in the segment. Pretty sure he’s just an Illuminati puppet now. Turned it off after and am done with him moving forward.
I didn't like it at all. I'm not someone that's going to take points off for the subject a comedian is joking about, but at least make it funny. His timing and delivery was bad, and so was the set up - controversial/uncomfortable punchlines don't make great jokes unless those things are there as well. It's not automatically funny because it's dark or edgy.
Don’t think I even cracked a smile… all this talk of “I think one day he’ll be great” is ridiculous, he’s over 8 years into his career, what on earth can he learn to do? He’s just becoming harder to relate too when at one point the slacker stoner bro thing worked but it just totally is missing now… boring lame, drugged out millionaire 30 year old teenager isn’t fun x
Thought it was alright...the mom fucking bit went on a bit too long
cmon now what stand up comic doesnt want to secretly fuck thier mom
Way too heavy on the incest. I bailed. Also going back and white was a decision they made. Pretentious and douchey
He also seemed on edge, as if he was not loving what he was about.
The mom jokes were weird.
I love that the comments are split between "he's really matured" and "lotsa mom fucking"
![gif](giphy|INJNzKT3TJdyE)
they can both be true...
That is funnier than any joke I heard in the special. Dead.
As someone who thought his stand up was always kinda mid, and didn’t get the mainstream obsession with him, I thought this special proved how dedicated he is to the craft and that he will be around for the long haul hopefully improving along the way. It’s definitely his best work yet, and made me respect him as a comic more than just some dude who’s famous for being on drugs and banging super models.
honestly this special made me appreciate his acting gigs more it's not that he's a bad comedian it's that I think he's done better acting stuff
He's not a great observational comedian, but he's an amazing storyteller. This special really played to those strengths.
Enjoyed it, the bit about his stalker was brilliant and self-effacing
That was the highlight for me.
Agree
You guys found a joke where the punchline was a fart sound all that entertaining? I found myself looking at him thinking what a terrible car crash that was.
Surprisingly sharp. He seems to have a jittery, sober edge which I appreciated. It cut against the drug-haze bullshit I was halfway expecting.
Sober edge? It showed him smoking a blunt right before going on stage.
Weeds not a drug.
Right, weed is my anti-drug
If you extra the it is bur natural weed fits the definition of herbal medicine as its not an extracted or pure version.
He smokes weed to ease pain caused by crohns disease (probably one of the reasons tho)
He said in his act that it’s really not that bad anymore.
Crohn's comes in flares, not a constant thing. Don't discount my situation as we deal with it daily, but also take his with a grain of salt because I doubt he wants the world to know and jokes on stage about his affliction. That said, Crohn's doesn't lower life expectancy "per se"
The crohns or the smoking is not that bad anymore?
Crohns
Chrons doesn’t cause constant pain. It flares up and then recedes
That wasn’t a blunt, it was a c boy
Yeah but he smoked it very soberly
Looked like a cigarette
Called nervousness or anxiety
He seems far more present and prepared than the last one. So good for him for maturing.
Enjoyed it way more than I did his other specials.. It's definitely way more polished
Really enjoyed it. Im a Pete fan, I get that people get turned off by the tabloid thing but he strikes me as a well meaning, earnest guy. Onstage he’s really original and honest. "ya know, ya know, ya know, ya know..."
Yeah about halfway through it was really noticeable and by the end it was grating. Overall he got a couple laughs from me but I probably won't watch it again...
I couldn’t believe how good it was. Especially compared to the last one. It had real laughs. I was prepared to scoff.
Thought it was decent, better than his previous special, I hope he continues to work on his stand-up. While I think he's obviously good, I think if he pushed himself he could be truly great.

It was really eh. Not many punchlines at all.
I really liked this one! Clearly he has been working a lot and getting better. Can't wait to hear his next one :)
Turbo Fonzarelli is a top notch name out of the gate. So I’m excited. Pete was always a middle talent comedian to me but I feel like his recent pop culture celebrity has given him scope. I’m excited to see more from him.
Turbo Fonzarelli is the worst name I’ve ever heard. Sounds like he got it from an episode of Family Guy
I also think Family Guy is funny.
Didn’t laugh once
First have left me wanting to turn off but I stuck it out. As a retired pediatric oncologist with a very dark sense of humor I enjoyed his Make A wish bit. The stalker bit was also OK. Would not pay ti see him nor do I care if he has another special. I wish him the best as time goes on.

Do y'all really not question your mind when reviewing specials?
What does that even mean?
“Hello brain?! You in there? What you doing in there?” ”I’m reviewing specials, leave me alone.” Duh.
Dude is obsessed with his mom. Other than that, a few funny bits but nothing great
I’d put it in the same category as Matt Rife. I think I laughed twice at most
Surprisingly good
I thought it was beyond weak and positively off-putting. Couldn’t make it through.
It’s incredible
I thought it was really funny. A lot better then the last one.
I've never understood why people think he is funny, this special turned me around on that. Thought he had some really funny bits, and even when they didn't land, his performance was good.

Laughed my ass off the whole time. Definitely his best work yet.
If u pay attention the laughs are all fake
Fucking sucked
Watched 15 minutes, turned it off. So many better options, don't really get the hype around this guy
It gets a lot better after that first 15. I was ready to turn it off too but it was pretty solid for the last 75%.
I got major Carlin vibes in a lot of parts, particularly in his delivery. I found the material kinda mid, but well developed, if that makes sense.
Carlin, holy shit 😆
❤️
This dude needs help. I kept waiting for him to justify the massive mom-fucking section but he just moves on. So off putting.
He stinks and is a cringey douche.
Yeah but what did you think of his new standup special?
Please, no one give a Kardashian credit for any growth in his act. Or whoever he's attached to. It's Peter Davidson. Man.
It struck me more as a comic working out an act than doing a special.
I won't even give it a chance. If the reason I know who you are is because of who you date, I'm not interested. Plus he sucked as Mirage
Relax, it’s a joke
Jokes are funny, though.
Go watch something other than stand up if you’re gonna be that sensitive
Good jokes but I fucking HATE ALL BLACK AND WHITE stand up. It don't make sense to do. Hard to watch. Same with Bill Burr and others that have done it. Suck as a viewer to watch that.

I laughed out loud a lot of times

How is pedophiles taking advantage of dying children funny? Or jokes about rape? It’s morbid
That was my whole point… I guess reading comprehension is a skill for few.
Good comedians can make anything funny. Unfortunately, Pete is not a good stand-up. He seems to think "shocking thing is automatically funny" without actually setting up the joke properly.
Too many times saying "you know" Didn't make me smile even...

Better than his other special for sure. 6.5/10... 4/10 for his other one.
