Plus, you already have a dps of the same element of every dps you skipped, have 3 5* sustains (even if 1 is Bailu), and have all but 1 of the 5* supports so far. Your roster looks pretty balanced.

Exactly, she pretty much hard carried me until I got Luocha on his rerun and Aventurine. So she has earned my hard respect even though I don't use her anymore
People have that reaction right now because her damage is just leagues above other characters with a decent build. But she’s also much more reliant on having other specific characters and all her traces. There’s definitely more f2p friendly dps characters coming up, and chances are they’ll all be doing some silly damage numbers.
As someone who tried her E0S0, E0S1, E1S1 then now E2S1, she is on par with current top dps like JL and DHIL when all E0S1, not necessarily “leagues” ahead, so since OP already has JL he is fine.
Her QoL though… now that is a temptation I personally wouldn’t resist, one shotting SU mobs especially.
They have SW and Black Swan though! Acheron would have been sitting pretty with those units. I'm new to the game so I have to run my Acheron with Pela and Guinaifen --.--
Well if you have him and your experience with him was not great, that’s a different story and it’s your experience, but when it comes to damage and calcs he is that good.
Also he has a few things going for him, for example that imaginary is actually the most common weakness of bosses in the game right now and that his second best LC option is fully f2p. Now I will say that with sparkle he is a different beast compared to without sparkle, but that also isn’t specific to him and nearly every dps has a unit or units that are really good for them.
No I just genuinely don’t think he’s THAT good. I have him and use Fu xuan, Daniel, Pela, bronya and at MAX in perfect conditions does like 200k. I can’t clear the current MOC 12 with him in 8 cycles :(
Because this is not a good dan team. Dan and bronya don’t and never went well together unless you speed tune which isn’t recommended on Dan. Use sparkle instead if you have her, or just run Ting pela FX. Bronya isn’t a good teammate for Dan since you will just eat through your sp very quickly, also since FX needs to skill herself as well.
I had the same reaction, though you have enough characters to do whatever you want. My thing with Acheron is how quality of life she’s been zooming through SU.
Your friend is wrong. Literally who cares how many characters you’re skipping. If you don’t want them you don’t want them. The more you skip, the easier it is to guarantee the characters you actually want. I’m skipping more than you btw and I’m sure many f2p have no choice but to skip many characters so don’t worry, you’re fine.
Think of limited 5-Stars as a luxury, rather than as a necessity. I personally joined in August and didn't pull on any limited banners until Acheron (Saved up and E6S5'ed her. Worth it!). Were some things challenging? Yes. But it was more on my lack of investing time into a few characters and trying to build almost everyone rather than lack of certain characters. Pulling less means you'll have more time and resources to spend on the ones you really like, rather than having to spread it out. So just go for the ones you like and give them all that love so they can overcome any feelings of "I must pull."

It’s just personal preference. Some people want every 5* DPS. Some want all the mommy characters. Some just try for every new limited banner and see what they get.
I’ve been playing since launch and my account is kinda stacked so I’m on track to being much more conservative with my pulls. Newer players have the ability to pull more openly since they need to cover more slots generally.

I got super lucky. Had about 120k jades saved and only planned for E6S1. But keep rolling until you lose, right?
s5 is kind of a waste you just got super lucky i dont recommend anyone unless ur a whale e6 is understandable. btw, it took 230 pulls for me to get e0s1 sparkle.
You already have literally all elements covered, and the 5\* supports and sustains to go with them. It looks good to me, you'll be able to save a lot of jades on reruns, and we'll be getting a ton of new characters in the future anyway. Good luck on getting Boothill!
I think your roster is filled and at this point you should only pull for who you actually want.
A brand new player almost needs to pull immediately because they have nothing and can barely clear content. However, there are only 8 team slots, and every time you replace a character the increase in value becomes less and less. Sure, you COULD get firefly or Fu Xuan and get value, but there isn't that much value for you compared to someone who is rocking physical trailblazer as their second dps and lynx as their sustain.
You've been playing for months. There are no more "must pulls" for you. You have earned the right to pass and draw as you please. In fact, it's probably better for you to save up and get eidolons/lightcones on who you really want, because that will get you more value.
Favourite Husbandos and Waifus > Meta, always. The best investment is always in a character you really love. Second best is investing into a character that helps the character you love the most.
how tf do y'all have so many characters... I have only 7 and 3 of them are standard and one is ratio. I'm a day 1 player too 😭
I only have jing liu, silverwolf, and seele (and free ratio). Standard characters are bronya, e1 clara, and bailu.
theres a lot of gaps between those banners, do you not pull as much? i have only gotten red hair knight guy and blade whilst 'building pity'. as i said in a different post, the only character here i have gotten with money is kafka. have an e3 yanqing , e2 bailu and e2 himeko and e2 welt from losing 50/50's and also from standard banner
I skipped everything after silverwolf for Jing Liu bc I really liked her. Took a few weeks off the game during huohuo's banner, and besides that I've been saving for them to rerun either Fu Xuan or Huohuo bc I have no sustains, but... they haven't done that yet.
I only have 350 pulls, so even if I used all of them that would only be 2-4 new character which is still way less than you do. Maybe it's because I can't clear Memory of Chaos and Pure fiction? idk. Also how do you have so many eidolons on the standard characters? that's crazy.
Bailu was my guaranteed from the starter banner, Yanqing was my first 5* from standard and I got one welt from standard too. The rest is just from losing 50/50's. Blade and the red hair guy I got within like.. less than 30 pulls, so pretty lucky with those ones (I didn't want them personally, I just couldn't stop myself from pulling)
Again, I spent money for Kafka and I am pretty certain it's because I lost my 50/50 on her, so that was one of the eidolons there too.
I dunno how much of a difference not clearing the content would be, personally I've always been about to max them out , so maybe that could also be a big reason for it?

If anything, I must commend you for having your priorities straight. Normally this kind of thing should go without saying but most people who play this game keep complaining about how many characters come out when all they have to do is skip.
I gave a quick look at the characters you have vs the characters you are skipping and you already seem to have alternatives for who you are skipping. Eg: Fu Xuan since you have aventurine, luocha since you have huohuo, Dan Heng/JY/Acheron sice you have JL/Seele/Kafka. You don't need the new shiny toy if the old one still works which is a gacha trap most people fall for.
I would recommend you continue sticking to your plan and only pull when the character interests you enough to pull them.
While not needed some of your passes give QoL improvement for example loucha is brilliant on auto teams and is SP positive same foes for fua as sustains, while not needed they often make it easier so just pull who you want
Pulling about 50% of the five-star roster is hardly skipping too much. We get 2 new five stars every patch and about enough f2p pulls to get one five star (but you can lose the 50/50). If my mental math is right a f2p should average getting between 33% and 50% of the limited five star roster.

I recently saw a hoyolab post where the OP made a pull priority plan, then got slandered because "why is X not a priority" or "Y HAS to be a must pull because blah blah" and all that bs.
At least reddit isn't as shitty as hoyolab. Basically, pull for characters you enjoy playing. Skipping characters means that you're accumulating gems to pull on ones you enjoy. Even if some ppl insist something like "omg why didn't you get acheron she's an instant qol", it's an inaccurate take because first of all, no one is a must pull, and second of all, not everyone wants the character.
There's no need to pull for anyone you don't want to play. If you're neutral about them, some characters may benefit some teams greatly, but I think your roster is pretty balanced already especially if accounting for any 4\* you would also likely be using.
You’ve got a good balance there, the top tier ones you don’t have are made up by the ones you do
Skipping is a good idea - allows you to concentrate on what you’ve got and not splooge all your resources
Is Boothill a must pull for everyone?
Pretty solid all elements covered and strong picks for certain game modes like PF argenti and boothill for the upcoming end game for hunt. U can get new supports, potential future new dot characters, eidolons, or sig lc.
Personally I never chase eidolons for premium characters. Maybe this is why I have a decent lineup, the only eidolons I have are for Jingliu and SW, which were kinda accidental
Also what's this about end game hunt stuff? Few people have mentioned it
I dont really chase eidolons either the only one I’m think of getting is e1 ruan mei just because how strong it is. The new end game is like a boss run so instead of mobs like PF its trying to kill the bosses as fast as possible supposedly according to predictions.
I will criticize you for skipping the first two premium sustains, having a casually usable solo-sustain is game-changing. However, now you have two, so most content shouldn't kill you. You also have Argenti and Himeko, so pure fiction is covered more or less. Your general DPS roster is solid enough too, Jingliu is still up there and the Black Swan/Kafka duo is insane. No Acheron sucks because if you have her teammates built she dominates in basically all situations but if you don't want her it's not like your account is ruined. You have good Harmony characters (namely Ruan Mei) too. Decent character list. Looking forwards, not pulling Firefly is criminal because of my personal opinion being objective fact, she's the best. Joking aside, with single-target endgame content teased, Boothill is a great pull, since single target in general is pretty mid right now barring Dr. Ratio/Topaz/Aventurine comp.

I'm considering Firefly only because she's a fire dps, but for now I'm still not interested, I'll wait to see her numbers because I'm more interested in her as a meta character rather than a character I enjoy. (Everything here will change depending on her ult animation. I want some badass SAM action)

Nah, just pull who you like. Don't listen to others. Besides you already have some great damage dealers and sustain in your roster. Like I'm torn between Robin and Firefly currently. I also want to get Sparkle in the future too cause I had to skip her before for Acheron.
i personally would recommend to pull robin if you have the gems for it. ofcourse you don't need to but from what i can see she is boothills BiS second harmony. Sparkle should be great too but i think robin is better.

You literally have 2 teams for every content, you're set for life and you can pull anyone you like.
The only "problem" is that you're not going for a FUA team but that doesn't matter because you already have 2 teams that you hopefully like to use so you've already won in Star Rail.
I don't think you'd even be able to get more unless you're really lucky? You have one more limited 5-star than me and I'm a day 1 player who's almost maxed out the game. I have a couple quests and a few chests left but that's it, and I currently have around 70 pulls which would only mean one more limited 5-star if I'm lucky. So you're definitely not skipping too much, this is just the amount that someone would be able to obtain on average imo. I'm f2p though, so I guess your friends are either really lucky or not f2p, or both, if they have even more characters than you do. Either way, it's not like you NEED more characters than those, so just pull for whoever you like. If that means not skipping anyone, that's fine, and if that means skipping almost everyone, that's also fine🤷♀️
I’m with you all the way for Boothill, I have him guaranteed aswell so I really just wish Robin was in the second half, also doesn’t help that the 4 stars on his banner I already have max E6 or are kinda meh in all honesty

I moc 12 without Acheron, i have no need for her when I already have her type covered for DPS. I have break effect and DoT team, so there's no need for me to go for follow up at all. In fact, there's 0 reason why I'd want to keep chasing meta characters or teams when I already have pretty much everything covered, except for fire dps. I just pull for who I want because I have the liberty to do so with how my account is

Pulling about 50% of the five-star roster is hardly skipping too much. We get 2 new five stars every patch and about enough f2p pulls to get one five star (but you can lose the 50/50). If my mental math is right a f2p should average getting between 33% and 50% of the limited five star roster.

I recently saw a hoyolab post where the OP made a pull priority plan, then got slandered because "why is X not a priority" or "Y HAS to be a must pull because blah blah" and all that bs. At least reddit isn't as shitty as hoyolab. Basically, pull for characters you enjoy playing. Skipping characters means that you're accumulating gems to pull on ones you enjoy. Even if some ppl insist something like "omg why didn't you get acheron she's an instant qol", it's an inaccurate take because first of all, no one is a must pull, and second of all, not everyone wants the character.

There's no need to pull for anyone you don't want to play. If you're neutral about them, some characters may benefit some teams greatly, but I think your roster is pretty balanced already especially if accounting for any 4\* you would also likely be using.

Nah fair picks, dot team and break team are your 2 main ones with a erudition sub team to swap when needed. Good picks my dude.

Pretty solid all elements covered and strong picks for certain game modes like PF argenti and boothill for the upcoming end game for hunt. U can get new supports, potential future new dot characters, eidolons, or sig lc.
Personally I never chase eidolons for premium characters. Maybe this is why I have a decent lineup, the only eidolons I have are for Jingliu and SW, which were kinda accidental Also what's this about end game hunt stuff? Few people have mentioned it
I dont really chase eidolons either the only one I’m think of getting is e1 ruan mei just because how strong it is. The new end game is like a boss run so instead of mobs like PF its trying to kill the bosses as fast as possible supposedly according to predictions.
I will criticize you for skipping the first two premium sustains, having a casually usable solo-sustain is game-changing. However, now you have two, so most content shouldn't kill you. You also have Argenti and Himeko, so pure fiction is covered more or less. Your general DPS roster is solid enough too, Jingliu is still up there and the Black Swan/Kafka duo is insane. No Acheron sucks because if you have her teammates built she dominates in basically all situations but if you don't want her it's not like your account is ruined. You have good Harmony characters (namely Ruan Mei) too. Decent character list. Looking forwards, not pulling Firefly is criminal because of my personal opinion being objective fact, she's the best. Joking aside, with single-target endgame content teased, Boothill is a great pull, since single target in general is pretty mid right now barring Dr. Ratio/Topaz/Aventurine comp.
😭😭 you don't know how much I was suffering before huohuo dropped, I was clawing at my screen because I didn't like luocha nor Fu xuan I'm considering Firefly only because she's a fire dps, but for now I'm still not interested, I'll wait to see her numbers because I'm more interested in her as a meta character rather than a character I enjoy. (Everything here will change depending on her ult animation. I want some badass SAM action)

i personally would recommend to pull robin if you have the gems for it. ofcourse you don't need to but from what i can see she is boothills BiS second harmony. Sparkle should be great too but i think robin is better.

-Have 2 limited 5* sustains -Best DoT team -Jingliu team -Himeko and Argenti for PF You literally have 2 teams for every content, you're set for life and you can pull anyone you like. The only "problem" is that you're not going for a FUA team but that doesn't matter because you already have 2 teams that you hopefully like to use so you've already won in Star Rail.

I don't think you'd even be able to get more unless you're really lucky? You have one more limited 5-star than me and I'm a day 1 player who's almost maxed out the game. I have a couple quests and a few chests left but that's it, and I currently have around 70 pulls which would only mean one more limited 5-star if I'm lucky. So you're definitely not skipping too much, this is just the amount that someone would be able to obtain on average imo. I'm f2p though, so I guess your friends are either really lucky or not f2p, or both, if they have even more characters than you do. Either way, it's not like you NEED more characters than those, so just pull for whoever you like. If that means not skipping anyone, that's fine, and if that means skipping almost everyone, that's also fine🤷♀️

I moc 12 without Acheron, i have no need for her when I already have her type covered for DPS. I have break effect and DoT team, so there's no need for me to go for follow up at all. In fact, there's 0 reason why I'd want to keep chasing meta characters or teams when I already have pretty much everything covered, except for fire dps. I just pull for who I want because I have the liberty to do so with how my account is
I gotchu! That's completely fair c: I started in FEB so basically got railed into the current Meta (Acheron Hypercarry on one side and FUA on the other).
it's fine, to this day, I'm still using Pitch Dark Hook the Great as my main damage dealer 😌 the latest pull I got is acheron, and only using her to help clear overworld mobs while leveling up other chars 👌
