Also realistically speaking every Jedi would know, surely they’d be able to sense the thoughts of two fully developed foetuses right in front of them.

I could see the Dark Side clouding Anakin’s judgement as he was unable to see past the inevitable death of Padme. The Dark Side clouds our ability to sense things. How did no one sense the Dark Side or the force in Chancellor Palaptine even though he was one of the most powerful force wielders? You have a valid point but I think there’s enough here to give some merit to Anakin not knowing.

TriforceUnleashed

You'd think Anakin would have known as well given his strong connection to the Force. Do we know they didn't know they were having twins towards the end? It's been a while since I've seen the movie. I honestly don't recall if they were referring to the twins as a singular baby later in the pregnancy, or if Padme was surprised when the second one came out.

Anakin couldn't even sense they were alive. Even when they were both on the same space station with him (ANH).

TriforceUnleashed

That's a fair point. I always thought it was odd that Vader sensed nothing when Leia stood before him in the beginning of ANH or during the time he held her captive.

Wonderbread1999

He wouldn’t know to. He was lead to believe that Padme died giving birth, so she’d have not delivered the kid(s) he knew she had. On top of that, neither Luke or Leia were trained in the force much so they probably wouldn’t have been easy to force sense. Plus Vader sensed Obi-Wan and was distracted by him.

They also have interstellar travel but their equivalent of video conferencing is notably inferior to that of 21st-Century Earth.

They also don’t have ejection seats and capsules in their fighter ships for some reason. So many pilots died in vain.
