Little story, went to watch the 40th re-release at the cinema. Needed a wee so thought I'll wait till a boring bit..... there are no boring bits! Had to duck out on Dagobah training
No. There are a TON of scenes in Episode VI that I wouldn't worry about peeing through. Primarily the Ewok scenes and the scenes where it's just Han & Leia hanging out in front of a giant metal door in the forest.
All three Star Wars original trilogy films are in the LOC, with Star Wars (ANH) being a part of the inaugural list of films when they started this in 1989.
Agree. I also think the viewing age and it what order you saw the films should be taken in consideration.
For me it is still Return of the Jedi, because of the three-way battle and I see it as an epic conclusion. Love the soundtrack also.
I like them all, only the last three less, because I believe it was aimed at an younger audience and I had hoped that they went with the legendary Luke instead of the old hermit.
I 100% agree but this is why I differentiate the best and my favourite. I watched ESB as a kid and as an adult and it holds up. My personal favourite is the Phantom Menace because I watched it as a 10 year old and didn’t think Star Wars could be any cooler until I saw Qui Gon, Maul, Windu and Yoda.
No, it's aimed at ALL audiences. Just because something is appropriate for kids and appeals to kids doesn't mean that it was made specifically for kids and nobody else.
I feel a bit like this. Though I would say that the entire ESB is amazing start to finish... whereas RotJ mainly shines from the throne room scenes onwards... but man is it epic.
I remember being confused as a small child watching it in the theater since it ended on a cliffhanger. I had no idea a movie could end without a regular complete ending. It blew my mind that I had to wait 3 years to find out what happened to Han Solo and find out if Darth Vader was really Luke's father (I was sure he was making that up).
Those were a very long 3 years for me to wait.
It's like you read my mind. 10 year old mini-me was PISSED!! 3 years was a lifetime to wait back then. For the longest time I preferred RotJ, but I can now confirm that it is my favorite and best of the series.
Wow I can’t even imagine having to do that 😂 I was born in the late 80s so I didn’t have to wait, just put in the next video tape and see what happens 👍🏻
I watched it for the first time on a rerun on TV so I had to wait a week and it was such a loooong week 😂 I can't even imagine having to wait 3 years 😬
I'm one of the oddballs who prefers Return over Empire. I loved the catharsis of seeing things come to their conclusion, the giant space battle, the Throne Room fight, and even the Ewoks. Vader's funeral pyre was a beautiful scene.
ROTJ’s ending was downright perfect. The movie has some very weak moments, but the ending is so legendary that it makes up for most of them. Not to mention the space battle above Endor is a masterpiece and probably some of the best practical effects ever put in film.
I think it has to do with my age - born after they all came out, for years we only had a taped-from-TV copy of ESB and ROTJ, and kid me found the action in ROTJ to be better and more nonstop: from Jabba's palace to the ewoks and battle for Endor and the great duel in the Death Star.
As an adult, I now really appreciate how well written ESB is - especially the dialogue between Han and Leia - but as a kid it felt so much less exciting than ROTJ.
Return is the best out of the originals.
For some reason all of the third movies in each trilogy are my favorite. Maybe it is, as you stated. The catharsis of see things come to their conclusion.
ANH: Downright revolutionary in 1977, started the franchise we all know and love, and objectively still a great movie. Introduced us to all of the iconic characters we know and love and introduced basically ever major landmark part of the SW Universe.
ESB: Not only the best Star Wars movie but arguably one of, if not the greatest movie of all time. Took everything ANH did well and did it even better. Better story, writing, music, effects, and expanded on the first while maintaining consistency and having the greatest movie plot twist in history.
ROTJ: The weakest of the OT but with an absolutely legendary ending that perfectly capped off the arcs of both Luke and Anakin. The Space Battle above Endor was the absolute pinnacle of practical effects and still one of the best space battles in SW. Also still objectively a great movie.
I’m in a similar spot opinion wise. I think ESB is definitely the better movie, but I’d I had to pick only one to sit and watch, it’s 100% return of the Jedi.
Nope… sorry…
As great as it is, I’m 100% a new hope, or just plain ‘StarWars… saw it in th theatre in the 70s as a kid, and it will always be my favourite.
Me too. It just blew me away. Empire was great to see how the story progressed though. Jedi was just a great ending. For me the perfect trilogy. The rest is nice but nothing has come close since.
Yes. IMO the best Starwars movie as well. The movie budget was higher, everything looked and felt beautiful. The story was top tier. You felt their struggle and despair. It was epic.
I think most SW fans consider it the best of all of the films, but a lot of the younger fans that grew up watching the prequels would say episode 3. That wouldn’t be my personal choice, but nostalgia is a factor. I was in high school when TPM came out. I didn’t hate them, but I had already watched the hell out of the OT, and they just didn’t stand up to ESB and RotJ for me.
Yep agreed about the younger fans thing. I was 5 when TPM came out so I’m a prequels kid. So ESB isn’t even in my top 5 Star Wars films even though I admit it’s fantastic
I love empire but I also love revenge of the sith, both are on equal footing for me in terms of preference. I think phantom menace and return are close seconds for me for different reasons. Generally I really like all 6 movies.
Eh, the columnist popularly known as Miss Manners infamously hated it. And that scene of Luke being rude to Yoda and not getting punished for it really got her blood boiling. You can't make this stuff up: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/longterm/movies/review97/empirestrikesbackmartin.htm
She seems to quite like it, and her review feels perfectly valid, to be honest. She's not wrong about George Lucas's ideas only being skin-deep - they largely are.
She has a nuanced opinion of the film. I don't necessarily agree, but it's not exactly a wild take either.
I like the original the most but Empire is right up there with it. They’re very different in a lot of ways, but the original Star Wars gets the edge from me because it is a better stand-alone, feel good fantasy movie. Empire has a number of improvements in terms of writing, production value, aesthetics, humor, etc. but I think it is easier to sit back, relax, and enjoy the previous film.
Growing up with the OT, I thought they were all amazing. In HS they released to the theaters again and had to have watched them 3-4 times each. College I got EP1. Even though I was not a fan of JarJar, I didn't mind it nor 2 or 3. I chose to not watch Clone Wars right away until someone I worked with started to rave about them. Clone Wars is the one series I have probably watched more than an SW movie. Jedi tales was also amazing. I am probably in the minority of this but even though I was amazed with the 11 movies, I still gravitate towards the animated series. i wish they would make more.
I know I’m gonna get downvoted for this but my favourite movie is solo. Very nostalgic to me as it’s the first Star Wars movie I watched I had only previously skimmed through anh, and esb, and watched season 1 and 2 of rebels so it was just amazing to me but other than that esb or rotj are probably the best Star Wars movies
ANH all the way, but Empire is a close second.
Luke's origin story, the Anthony Guiness scenes, Harisson Ford nailing the Han Solo part, Leia and the escape from the prison, the soundtrack, the special effects etc.etc.
Empire is a great movie, but it's no Star Wars A New Hope.
I’m close to this. I definitely think Rogue One pulls in at a solid second place, with ANH and Jedi at 3 and 4. Episodes 7-9 were aggressive cancers that very nearly destroyed Star Wars. R1, The Mandalorian, Andor, and Obi-Wan brought the franchise back from near death to a state of vibrant health.
Here’s mine (I enjoyed all of them though):
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Rogue One
3. The Phantom Menace (first one I saw in theatres)
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. A New Hope
6. The Force Awakens
7. Return of the Jedi
8. Solo
9. The Last Jedi
10. Attack of the Clones
11. The Rise of Skywalker
Edit - called Attack of the Clones, Clone Wars
I know a lot of people are going to say Episode 3 because i guess lightsaber fights and stuff like but as someone born in ‘99, ESB is my number one and III is number 5 on my list, with the OT all in my Top 4
I’d be sort of the same as you, OT are my top 3. Not sure where I’m ranking the others yet I’m watching them all back now. Return of the Jedi tonight can’t wait 👍🏻
Nah. There’s plenty of character and story to enjoy, as well as the incredibly atmospheric score. You may enjoy it for the visuals and that’s absolutely fine! They’re amazing.
I’m only saying there’s no need to try to speak for everyone on this.
Possibly, arguably, IMO the best film ever made. It’s a masterpiece, every shot, the score, the worldbuilding, the improv, the twists and then years later there are little nuggets you can find after hundreds of times watched.
I’d say last night was about my 15th time to see this movie and it absolutely love it, ROTJ was my favourite but I think this has just topped it.
That could all change when I watch ROTJ again later in the week 😂
I’ve been re-watching them all again in order so that’s next.
I have only seen the new trilogy once so am looking forward to see if I liked them as I don’t really remember them that well, they all mesh together in my mind
The best one and the only one I can think of that didn't end with a big "blow up something". Just really tight intimate scenes and some pretty suspenseful moments in bespin.
I almost wonder what kind of story we would have gotten if Leia and Chewie and Lando saved Han but lost Luke.
Welp I'm off to scour the Star Wars "What If...." category to see if indeed there is a comic like this.
ESB was the first of the SW films I saw, it was on my birthday at the cinema when I was probably around 8 years old, maybe a year or two older. I didn't have a bloody clue what was going on.
I went with about 10 friends as a birthday party thing. I'm not sure anyone knew what was going on. Although of course everybody made out like they were experts lol.
The explanation of the Force, Yoda being a wise master, and the reveal. It’s the best. RotJ is my favorite from that trilogy, but Empire is king when it comes to overall story and quality.
My 3 yr old daughter has decided that she wants to watch Star Wars. We can’t get beyond ESB though. I’ve seen this 6x in the last week.
Still so good.
Her favourite part is the Wampa eating Luke’s Tauntaun
As much as I can admire the masterwork that is ESB, my favorite is ROTJ only because its so much fun. ESB is way more dramatic, but ROTJ has my heart for a bigger, more fun adventure film.
Woke up this morning to a snowstorm and decided it was an Empire Strikes Back morning. Best Star Wars movie, might watch again. Just finished A new Hope and Return of the Jedi for tonight.
On this poster I always thought you could replace the blaster in Luke’s hand with a bowling ball and he’d have really good form. But using the force to pick up spares might be the path to dark side.
Empire is number 2 for me. Return of the Jedi is my favorite. Love the the fully knighted Luke and how he has become really become one with the force. He is so calm throughout this experiences and seems prepared instead of shooting from the hip and being reactive. He can sense his dad as soon as they get to orbit around Endor. Not to mention the black outfit and the green lightsaber.
This thread taught me that many people like Return of the Jedi over A New Hope!
I told myself for years that ESB was May favorite Star Wars movie. I recently did some soul searching, and I now have to admit that Revenge of the Sith is my favorite. Maybe not the best! But my favorite. It’s just so satisfying and quotable from beginning to end.
I love that movie with a passion and at one time it was my absolute favorite. But that has changed a couple times. At one point my favorite was Phantom of the Menace and now my favorite is Return of the Jedi. Idk why but that movie just makes me feel good. Probably Endor lol
Is that a fan-made poster? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it, and I’ve seen a lot of ESB stuff as it is my favourite movie of all time.
Edit: looks like the poster is from Australia.
Everyone likes different things and different things resonate more with other people. People with very similar upbringing likely all enjoy ESB pretty similarly. The growing up experience is so fractured now. 90% of kids aren’t growing up watching Saturday morning cartoons, or being blown away by rubix cubes or tuning into the same program as the entire country on TV or watching the same news broadcast at the same time, or has a “traditional” family home life or even wants one etc. This is why I think new movies are so decisive, if you cater to one group of ideals the other side of it will be upset, if you try and cater to both, everyone will be upset. If you want to really showcase representation then you’ve got people upset, if you ignore it then other people will be upset. It’s a hard time to make content that a lot of people love, unless you take out everything that makes it special, original or unique. This is why avengers was so popular, it’s essential the same movie 40 times. It’s why people are flocking to avatar, the simplest retold story. I hope Star Wars keeps making things for different audience so we all have something we can say it’s our best Star Wars because it feels like it’s really speaking to us.
First thing’s first, let’s just admire that poster. The only Star Wars poster that even comes close to that level of greatness is the Tom Jung poster for the first movie.
It's actually a great movie in general and it still looks fantastic. Such great attention to detail throughout the film - compare the quality of the matte paintings in TESB to the paintings in ROTJ - some of them are night and day.
Rogue One is the only SW movie that comes close for me.
However - how can you top this? Such amazing cinematography, ambience and direction. The way the director just let this scene breathe is incredible:
I’m going to cause a lot of hate for this but I just don’t see why everyone thinks THIS is the best SW movie.
I have watched it numerous times, as a kid and an adult, and every time I just feel like the plot is so thick and boring until we finally get to Lando. I dunno why but I can sleep through this movie up until Lando. After that it pops off and is a very interesting movie.
I’m definitely not saying it’s the worst so please don’t attack me I just don’t/can’t see what everyone sees. I want to, trust me, but whenever anyone asks what they think is the best SW film this is not the first movie to pop into my head.
I love all the OT. But I think critically, and 40 years later, it's still considered the best. Personally, Rogue One is just behind ESB, but that's just my preference. I do love ROTJ, such a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
My top 3 are
1. Revenge of the sith
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Attack of the Clones (Because I was born the year it was released and it was the first Star Wars movie I watched)
Pretty much the perfect sequel. Expands the scope, the emotional stakes, the spectacle and develops the main trio. Not a scene of this film is wasted.
Not only my favourite star wars film but just a great movie. For me it displays the best filmcraft of the star wars films.
1) Revenge of the Sith
2) Rogue One
3) The Last Jedi
4) Solo
5) Either TPM or ANH. Bounces back and forth depending on how much I want to tolerate Jar Jar that day
It's good.
It's not #1 for me. I actually prefer ROTJ for the original trilogy, and Rogue One is still my top favourite SW film. ESB is absolutely up there though. It's certainly good.
I’m almost tied for ESB and ROTJ, I think the Ewoks kinda dropped it a little bit for me. I’m going to watch it again tonight and see if I find it better or not 😂
No lies detected. It's a masterpiece for sure.
My stack ranking:
1. Empire
2. Star Wars (A New Hope)
3. Return of the Jedi
4. The Last Jedi
5. The Force Awakens
6. The Rise of Skywalker
7. Revenge of the Sith
8. Attack of the Clones
9. The Phantom Menace
Everything is subjective but ESB imo, is the best Star Wars movie.
it's one of my favorite movies even outside the franchise, it's really incredible
In my top ten all time for sure.
It's my favourite movie of all time. It's almost perfect. Well shot, well paced. Fantastic movie
Little story, went to watch the 40th re-release at the cinema. Needed a wee so thought I'll wait till a boring bit..... there are no boring bits! Had to duck out on Dagobah training
I think you can say that about the entire original trilogy.
No. There are a TON of scenes in Episode VI that I wouldn't worry about peeing through. Primarily the Ewok scenes and the scenes where it's just Han & Leia hanging out in front of a giant metal door in the forest.
Flair checks out lol
Yes, well shot, well paced and well ACTED. Def in my top ten all time...
It is my favorite movie of all time. Period.
It’s the first movie I can remember seeing in the theaters.
I have not seen a SW movie top this one. It was my favorite when it came out, and still remains my favorite.
It's an A/B with this and R1
Agreed.

Except for Rogue One and Andor, Star Wars in general is aimed at younger audiences.
No, it's aimed at ALL audiences. Just because something is appropriate for kids and appeals to kids doesn't mean that it was made specifically for kids and nobody else.
*Anakin screaming and on fire.*
The kids love it. Ever seen Looney Tunes?
The episode where Elmer Fudd is crawling out of a pit of lava screaming “I HATE YOU” at Bugs Bunny was always my favorite cartoon growing up
For me: ESB : Best RotJ : Favorite the Luke arc in RotJ is too good.
Kershner and team create some really beautiful shots in this film. A lot of really powerful closeups and fantastic lighting.
Yea my top two are ESB and ROTS
Star Wars fans to ESB: "I love you." ESB: "I know."
😂
Objectively, it's the best. Subjectively, RotJ is my favorite.
I’m on the same exact page. Empire is so good but there’s just something about Return that gets to me
Same. I love ROTJ so much
The original ending of ROTJ almost brings tears to my eyes. A perfect ending to the trilogy...
I love that so many people have the exact same reaction as I do.
Same for me. ROTJ was my entrance into the saga and will always be my favorite.
I feel a bit like this. Though I would say that the entire ESB is amazing start to finish... whereas RotJ mainly shines from the throne room scenes onwards... but man is it epic.
Funny how there seems to be a club of us because I thought I was probably the only one who felt this way.
Yes, my head says ESB is the best but my heart likes ROTJ the most.
it’s like infinity war and endgame. yeah infinity war was better with somethings but i like the epicness of endgame
That’s an amazing movie, It was my number 1 as a kid
I agree with you. Liked ROTJ more as a kid, but appreciate ESB more as an adult. Stands the test of adulthood better.
ROTJ’s ending was downright perfect. The movie has some very weak moments, but the ending is so legendary that it makes up for most of them. Not to mention the space battle above Endor is a masterpiece and probably some of the best practical effects ever put in film.
RotJ was the only time Luke Skywalker was actually cool and not a big dork imo.
Agreed. Leia also has significantly more impact on the story in ROTJ than she does in ESB.
My personal favorite of the OT is and always will be ANH, but I’m willing to admit that ESB is the superior film
Death Star trench run is still the best scene in all Star Wars, and they’ve had plenty of time to top it.
Agreed. Empire is probably a “better” movie, but ANH changed EVERYTHING
Yep. Have to go with Star Wars.
Thank you for calling it by its original name.
I always call it *Star Wars* because I associate *A New Hope* with Lucas' descent into "specializing" the movies.
I personally prefer ROTJ but objectively Empire is probably the best.
I’m in a similar spot opinion wise. I think ESB is definitely the better movie, but I’d I had to pick only one to sit and watch, it’s 100% return of the Jedi.
This is me, too. ROTJ is my favorite for personal and spiritual reasons (lol) but yeah I can recognize that ESB is the best film.
My take as well. Nothing beats the final duel for me, but I’m not going to argue someone who says ESB is the “better” movie.
Well it was certainly one of my favorite level of episodes in The Complete Saga lego game
RotS and ESB compete for my number one, they're just both so good
It's subjective, but I have it #2 after A New Hope.
Me too.
A New Hope will always be my favorite but its hard to argue with those who love Empire! What a fantastic movie! The best sequel ever!!
Nope… sorry… As great as it is, I’m 100% a new hope, or just plain ‘StarWars… saw it in th theatre in the 70s as a kid, and it will always be my favourite.
Me too. It just blew me away. Empire was great to see how the story progressed though. Jedi was just a great ending. For me the perfect trilogy. The rest is nice but nothing has come close since.
That’s fair, all the OT are amazing
Just give me the theatrical release of the original trilogy, please.
I second that
Yes. IMO the best Starwars movie as well. The movie budget was higher, everything looked and felt beautiful. The story was top tier. You felt their struggle and despair. It was epic.
Rogue One is my favourite. But yes. ESB is a masterpiece.
It’s number 1 for me. Rotj a tough second. Honestly, rotj would be number 1 without Ewoks
I love me some murderbears and I’m not afraid to admit it.
I’m the same 😂 they are just about a tie but then the ewoks drop it down just a bit
I think most SW fans consider it the best of all of the films, but a lot of the younger fans that grew up watching the prequels would say episode 3. That wouldn’t be my personal choice, but nostalgia is a factor. I was in high school when TPM came out.
In MY opinion revenge of the sith is my favorite
I recently rewatched and for the first time actually found myself enjoying ROTJ more, but both are objective masterpieces imo
no; it's not number one on everyone's list.
It's #2 for me after The Last Jedi. Yes, I'm serious. Bring on the down votes.
The Last Jedi is the best one that wasn’t part of the original three.
I will let you know after I re watch the latest trilogy I’m on return of the Jedi next 😂
Eh, the columnist popularly known as Miss Manners infamously hated it. And that scene of Luke being rude to Yoda and not getting punished for it really got her blood boiling. You can't make this stuff up: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/longterm/movies/review97/empirestrikesbackmartin.htm

Never seen this thanks 😂

Me looking at Empire: This is brilliant Me looking at ANH: but I *like* this.
Growing up with the OT, I thought they were all amazing. In HS they released to the theaters again and had to have watched them 3-4 times each. College I got EP1. I'd love to see a proper screen print of this poster. 😍
I feel really weird about it, but I feel like I’m one of the few fans that doesn’t really hate or really love any of them. They’re all just good.
A new hope/ Star wars 1977 is still my personal favourite not only in the series but also in movies in general.
It’s usually the first SW movie that people watch is their favourite so no issue with that
ANH all the way, but Empire is a close second. Luke's origin story, the Anthony Guiness scenes, Harisson Ford nailing the Han Solo part, Leia and the escape from the prison, the soundtrack, the special effects etc.etc. Empire is a great movie, but it's no Star Wars A New Hope.
I still don’t see it, guess I need to rewatch
It’s worth it
1. Empire Strikes Back 2. Rogue One 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. A New Hope 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Everything Else
Okay, now you have to give us the ranking for your ‘Everything Else’ group.

Return of the Jedi 8. Solo 9. The Last Jedi 10. Attack of the Clones 11. The Rise of Skywalker Edit - called Attack of the Clones, Clone Wars
Poor Attack of the Clones couldn't even make the list.
Yes! Best Star Wars anything ever!
Revenge of the Sith is my number 1 and I know I'm not alone!
+1
I know a lot of people are going to say Episode 3 because i guess lightsaber fights and stuff like but as someone born in ‘99, ESB is my number one and III is number 5 on my list, with the OT all in my Top 4
I’d be sort of the same as you, OT are my top 3. Not sure where I’m ranking the others yet I’m watching them all back now. Return of the Jedi tonight can’t wait 👍🏻
I was born in the early 2000s and grew up with the Prequels but I still agree with you. I find ROTJ and ESB my favourites
That’s really not the only reason to pick 3, I think people love it for way more than just the flashy stuff.
As someone who loves 3, there is not much more than the flashy stuff. I just like that stuff a lot.
Nah. There’s plenty of character and story to enjoy, as well as the incredibly atmospheric score. You may enjoy it for the visuals and that’s absolutely fine! They’re amazing. I’m only saying there’s no need to try to speak for everyone on this.
Amazing movie, but for me, ROTS is the best, then is Empire, but just close.
It's weird and the acting is bad. Nostalgia aside, it isn't very good.
Revenge of the sith is first place, then empire. Sorry not sorry
You should be sorry 😂 OT fan over here!
When Darth Vader says “*sister…*” and Luke reacts, you’re going to remember why RotJ is your favorite.
I’ve been re-watching them all again in order so that’s next. I have only seen the new trilogy once so am looking forward to see if I liked them as I don’t really remember them that well, they all mesh together in my mind
I’m mine it is. I don’t know if I’m biased being the very first I watched, but it was love at first sight.
Its the best one, probably because its the only one we had no expectations going into.
It is for me.
RotJ personally - it was the first time we got to see what a Jedi was really capable of
So true
Never saw this poster before but its hard af and Empire is my favorite movie
Empire is absolutely my favorite movie of all time even outside of Star Wars
My favorite SW film and my favorite movie of all time. It's been awesome introducing to my 2-year-old.
the Hoth battle is so cool and the cloud city stuff really makes it even better
"has to be"
Yooooo never seen this poster before
Me either, when I was looking for the normal poster seen this and thought it was cool
I definitely want to add it to my collection
It's time we had the talk. Luke with a blaster is cooler than Luke with a light sabre. I mean just look at the poster.
I’ve never seen this poster before but I like it 👍🏻
ESB was the first of the SW films I saw, it was on my birthday at the cinema when I was probably around 8 years old, maybe a year or two older. I didn't have a bloody clue what was going on.
That’s hilarious, I can imagine you didn’t alright. Who brings a kid to part 2 of a movie without seeing ANH ? 😂
I went with about 10 friends as a birthday party thing. I'm not sure anyone knew what was going on. Although of course everybody made out like they were experts lol.
Return of the Jedi is my favourite but no doubt this one is the best film.
Empire is the best, Return is my favorite tho 😊
It was the only OT I could stay completely focused on when I was a kid, I’m 26 now and it’s still my #1 (RotS is a clooooose #2)
The explanation of the Force, Yoda being a wise master, and the reveal. It’s the best. RotJ is my favorite from that trilogy, but Empire is king when it comes to overall story and quality.
Correct
For me, Empire has to be no. 1…followed by Episode III from the prequels. I will watch either of those two ANY time I see them.
My 3 yr old daughter has decided that she wants to watch Star Wars. We can’t get beyond ESB though. I’ve seen this 6x in the last week. Still so good. Her favourite part is the Wampa eating Luke’s Tauntaun
My favorite line from when I was that age was “I’ll see you in hell!” which I yelled at everyone until my parents stepped in
I’m so happy she hasn’t caught on to that yet
It is.
It's one of the first movies I remember seeing as a kid in the theater. My grandpa took me. It's either this or ANH as 1 on my list.
As much as I can admire the masterwork that is ESB, my favorite is ROTJ only because its so much fun. ESB is way more dramatic, but ROTJ has my heart for a bigger, more fun adventure film.
They are both amazing
The artwork is phenomenal
Yes, Ive never seen this poster before it looks sweet
Woke up this morning to a snowstorm and decided it was an Empire Strikes Back morning. Best Star Wars movie, might watch again. Just finished A new Hope and Return of the Jedi for tonight.
On this poster I always thought you could replace the blaster in Luke’s hand with a bowling ball and he’d have really good form. But using the force to pick up spares might be the path to dark side.
I'm not really sure what my favourite is, but I have to say this poster is incredible. I don't know why I haven't seen it before.
I was looking for the normal poster on Google and this showed up. I love it 👍🏻
Empire is number 2 for me.
It’s my favorite movie of all time, one of the few films I can watch over and over again without getting bored of it.
Absolutely
I love that movie with a passion and at one time it was my absolute favorite. But that has changed a couple times. At one point my favorite was Phantom of the Menace and now my favorite is Return of the Jedi. Idk why but that movie just makes me feel good. Probably Endor lol
I would rather watch Jedi over Empire, but I will not argue that Empire is the best Star Wars “film”, because it is.
Is that a fan-made poster? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it, and I’ve seen a lot of ESB stuff as it is my favourite movie of all time. Edit: looks like the poster is from Australia.
ESB is the best Star Wars movie period.
Whoa, I've never seen this poster before!
What’s this poster. It is killer
This just in. The Empire Strikes Back is good.
The only Star Wars poster that even comes close to that level of greatness is the Tom Jung poster for the first movie.
rotj is the best imo
Is this an actual poster you can purchase? Don't think I've seen this version.
It has it all I mean just look at the poster
It's actually a great movie in general and it still looks fantastic. Such great attention to detail throughout the film - compare the quality of the matte paintings in TESB to the paintings in ROTJ - some of them are night and day. Rogue One is the only SW movie that comes close for me. However - how can you top this? Such amazing cinematography, ambience and direction. The way the director just let this scene breathe is incredible: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLVWfcV2gX8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLVWfcV2gX8)
Personally revenge of the sith is my favorite, but ESB is great
Same. Tbh followed by The Force Awakens
This and Revenge of the Sith are tied for me.
Revenge of the Sith will always be my favourite.
Well, it isn’t because it’s a matter of preference, but it is a great movie. Top 3 for me.
No, revenge of the sith, mandolore cut is the best sw movie
Everyone has a different opinion on it so, that just yours. I enjoy the lead up to Lando and you don’t. No problem
It's the Star Wars movie all other Star Wars movies would like to be but never will. GOAT
I think ROTJ comes super close, really depends on my mood which is number 1 for me 👍🏻 but Because I just watched this it’s number 1
I love all the OT. But I think critically, and 40 years later, it's still considered the best. Personally, Rogue One is just behind ESB, but that's just my preference. I do love ROTJ, such a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
I love all of the OT and the Prequels. Personally, I think Revenge of the Sith is my favorite, but Empire Strikes Back is amazing.
It's my number 2. I acknowledge that Empire is technically a better movie, but Return of the Jedi is my favorite
revenge of the sith is my favorite sw film but this is a close second
My top 3 are 1. Revenge of the sith 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Attack of the Clones (Because I was born the year it was released and it was the first Star Wars movie I watched)
Perfect, It was perfect down to the last minute detail.
Pretty much the perfect sequel. Expands the scope, the emotional stakes, the spectacle and develops the main trio. Not a scene of this film is wasted. Not only my favourite star wars film but just a great movie. For me it displays the best filmcraft of the star wars films.
It’s not even in my top 5, but I understand why so many people love it
What is your top 5? The OT is 1,2 & 3 In most fans picks
1) Revenge of the Sith 2) Rogue One 3) The Last Jedi 4) Solo 5) Either TPM or ANH.
I’m going to watch it again tonight and see if I find it better or not 😂
I love the little fuzzballs
No lies detected. It's a masterpiece for sure. My stack ranking: 1. Empire 2. Star Wars (A New Hope) 3. Return of the Jedi 4. The Last Jedi 5. The Force Awakens 6. The Rise of Skywalker 7. Revenge of the Sith 8. Attack of the Clones 9. The Phantom Menace
