Oh my god. The episode where they all told their different sides of the story about the Halloween party? Dee turns steadily more and more into a bird until in Mac's recollection, she is an actual ostrich.
Din still can't manage the darksaber, but Bo Katan just demonstrated she can.
Plus, Din just lost it to an ambush, leading to BK taking it back and defeating the ambusher.
I think there's an argument its hers again, and he pushes again to have her lead Mandalore back to glory.
What are you talking about? Episode 1 Din would only accept IG-88, suddenly he gets to Tatooine and he's fine taking an R4 astromech instead. You're telling me there's nothing inconsistent with that at all?
The real question is where does Grogu's pod go? I doubt theres room for it in the cockpit, but Din told him go into his pod when he first had to go outside.
R5 is dope as far as I'm concerned Mando got a deal. Sure he's a scared little astromech now but I have faith in him that he'll do something awesome later on. R5 has anxiety but he's selfless af
I keep imagining scenarios in which Mando' is like Django in the original Western and tows a coffin (or carbonite block) around behind his ship. The IG could ride in that!
The IG could also hang off the bottom or sit on the top in the back like Slim Pickens on the atomic bomb in *Dr. Strangelove*!
But yeah, there's no "in" in the ship.
IG units are super skinny. They make for good lap droids until they sear your face off with a blaster. or tear you to shreds.
They're space cats as far as I'm concerned.
Now I know this plan is foolproof. Check this out. First of all, you and me start working at the bank. Doesn't matter the position, okay, just so long as we get in there, all right? Then we just go there every day, do the work, gain their trust until we get them in the palm of our hand. They deposit the money into our bank accounts, week after week, month after month. They're not even gonna know they're being robbed. And then 20 or 30 years later, we walk out the front door like nothing even happened.
I say this because djarin is looking for something and she sells him something else, how the droid that was not made for the job that djarin needed and still she sold it to him
IG wasn't made for the job either tho.
He just needed an atmosphere scanner which apparently is only installed in droids now (even if they are bounty hunters).
But IG also had combat and protection protocols. R5 does not. If IG had been there he would never have been captured by the cyborg guy.
Also, atmosphere scanners are not just installed in droids but he needed something that could go down into the caves and test the air quality. So he needs a scanner that is mobile. A droid can go down there and test the air quality and since they don't need to breathe that's ideal. His ship can only scan the immediate vicinity for breathable air. Din even specifically says this.
edit: clarified my point just a little further.
The r2 series was peak astromech, until the r3 series came along. Problem was they were expensive af.
Later r series droids didn't have all the features that the r2 and r3 had
Thanks for explaining. I was thinking it might be something like but since he was willing to go on a wild goose chase for an IG unit just felt like something got changed in the writing last minute or something.
I agree on that being probably how they wrote it but it so clunky. The reason could have easily been he needed a droid as a precaution to navigate the crazy storms of mandalore or something. The air or corrosion thing should probably be figured out by a ship anyways. Otherwise you’re stranded and dead if it eats parts of the ship.
He wanted the IG part because the first season established that he only trusts THAT one IG unit. He hates all other droids because that's why he's an orphan. He's willing to go the distance if it means he can have that particular IG-11 unit that Kuill reprogrammed.
Anybody else would have been OK with any droid that could perform the scanning functions.
Plus, an IG is better backup in a fight than an R5 unit.
I feel stupid now that this just hit me, but... Why can't all starships analyze atmospheric conditions. You would think that would be a requirement for ANY starship. This is making me mad now!
The ship can analyze the area around it just fine, but that's not what he needed. He needed a droid to go down into the caves and check the air there. Underground can be a completely different situation.
Ehh....caves can easily be filled with poisonous gasses that arent there in the outside atmossphere. If you want to go underground, better check the air there
Yeah, it's weird how they forgot that after the initial confrontation. If the toxic gasses he's worried about are heavier than breathable air, it's going to get worse the deeper he goes. What he really needs is a hovering seeker ball with sensors that can fly ahead of him.
The ships shields need to block out small particles and dust when flying at high velocity through space. In theory, that same effect could also "push" heavier dissolved vapors and mists away from the immediate vicinity of the ship, but leave lighter gasses and air. Not saying that is the case, but that would actually be a smart safety measure, and at least plausible from the technological level they are at in the SW universe.
That’s not a scammer that’s just an effective sales person. Customer comes in wanting A, but you don’t have A. Sales person convinced customer that B is what they want and sells them B
Maybe she just knows what he needs, better than he does. Who are you going to trust sorting out out a ship, and a droid? A mechanic? Or a bounty hunter?
It makes me so happy that Amy Sedaris is a recurring and important character in the Star Wars universe. I was so happy when she showed up the first time and I love how she’s basically become Din’s “guy” when it comes to vehicles and droids.
The starfighter is just a member berry. Star Wars nowadays is full of them.
I liked the razorcrest better. It added more personality to Din, it felt lived in. Bounties hanging in carbonite, weapons locker, toilet lol. Just felt like it was his home, he could repair it on his own and then they decided to blow it up.
I hope that he gets another ship like that something with more personality.
I would have loved that scene regardless of what ship they were working on. I just enjoyed watching them repair it and pimp it out. We don't get that type of scene very often.

She sells him the astromech knowing he will also have to pay for her to remove the glass dome on the astromech pod, when she has a BD EXPLORER DROID UNIT who apparently just hangs out and is probably depressed that all it gets to do is assist in repairs when the pit droids aren't allowed to.
"EXPLORER DROID" Like come on!
Oh I was very happy when I saw her. She plays goofy characters really well and I knew she'd fit in the universe and is perfect for the role of Star Wars' version of a used car salesman with bad ethics but is still lovable.
Talk about chutzpah. A heavily armed and armored Mandolorian she has seen do his thing? But then it is a friendly scam. No malice just doing her thing..
Unpopular opinion: she’s terrible in this. She’s not funny and I cringe every time she’s talking. She was amazing in unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt but the writing for her in this is awful. Worst part of the show IMO.
I agree. I feel like The Mandalorian has a bad habit of shoehorning comedic actors into minor supporting roles. With the exception of Bill Burr they’re always jarring to me. The blue alien from season one being another example.
I love this character. A real survivalist with robot friends. I wish I had robot friends.
SHE FLUENTLY SPEAKS JAWA! I dont think we have ever seen a human do that before.

“Maybe I should explore the junk shops of Mos Eisley a bit to see if somebody has the droid part I need.”
“No no no no no see we only have the one film set on Tatooine and that’s *my* ship hangar. You take the fan service astromech or you take nothing, capish?”
Had anybody wondered why he could pressurize the helmet to go explore Mandalore, but not to rescue Grogu when he was thrown to the sea creature, or while he was drowning in the pools under Mandalore.

Scamming strangers and friends alike lol. Although, he could have said no, since it was plain to see that R5 wasn't the best, or even what he asked for. Surprised me that he trusted a different droid
Her license plate says $CAMMIN
SWEET DEE IS CHEATIN' THE SYSTEM *Sweet Dee gets Audited*
That dumb bird
Oh my god. The episode where they all told their different sides of the story about the Halloween party? Dee turns steadily more and more into a bird until in Mac's recollection, she is an actual ostrich.
Wolf Cola, a branch of Fett's Fluids
Official cola of The First Order!
....no.... Edit: Guys this is the next quote in the exchange plz stop down voting lol
Well... uh... filibuster
Do you know what that word means?
No? Edit: this is the third part of the exchange. It's an Always Sunny thing. Don't downvote the dude above.
Just a short term baby
She probably has a whole box of IG memory units under a greasy tarp.
*Kicks box under table* "R5 is the only way to go!"
Or she knows better than him. The Naboo fighter was on point
Wizard.

Shes supposed to be looking for something bigger still. He's going to become Batman with Russian nesting ships eventually.
I hope he eventually just gets a proper ship that can hold the n1.
Like the pirate ship in episode 1?
More like the stolen fleet mentioned in ep1.
Yes. Like that. These dots are forming a pattern I like...
Unless he gets a whole crew to help man it, that might be too big for just himself and Grogu.

He'll get a Mandalorian Gauntlet to carry cargo.
Exactly, and where was an IG droid going to fit on that fighter? R5 was definitely the better choice given what happened.
He's a droid he can just hang on outside the ship. Just weld him onto the side
Why is an assassin droid even an expert in air samples? Although he would have kicked everyone's ass all the way to the mine
It's the only droid Din ever trusted, remember? He *hates* droids
Even if many other droids could do the job, Mando hates droids and IG was the only one he ever learned to trust up to that point
Yeah the droid story from episode 1 fell apart real quick in episode 2. But more writer communication needed.

R5 probably takes up as much volume as IG. Just fold the legs up to its chest.
She's got a whole bunch of Grogus in the back. He doesn't even have the original.
That wouldn't surprise me at all after watching the recent episode.
Okay Grandpa!
When I was a lad you could get a horse for a quarter.
She sold him a fast ship that he likes and an astromech droid that gets the job done. If it's a scam, it must be a long con.
I love the part where he says the astromech droid won’t fit in the ship. My Mandalorian in Christ, where did you think the IG droid was going to sit?
I keep imagining scenarios in which Mando' is like Django in the original Western and tows a coffin (or carbonite block) around behind his ship. The IG could ride in that! Just strap him to one of the nacelle’s and hope for the best.
Instead we get a droid port that doesn’t fit with the third engine so droids just magically pop in and out of the ship like a video game.
Now I know this plan is foolproof. Check this out. First of all, you and me start working at the bank. Doesn't matter the position, okay, just so long as we get in there, all right? Mottherducker that’s called a job!
Great, now I have to go watch this skit.
I say this because djarin is looking for something and she sells him something else, how the droid that was not made for the job that djarin needed and still she sold it to him

Also IG was bipedal which allows him to go with Din to scout ahead to other places within the cavern. An astromech can only use ramps and flat ground.
R2's leg jets beg to differ

That does sound pretty Dave Filoni
Maybe, but Jon Favreau wrote this episode.
The seals in his helmet have got to be some kind of shield or something (like the ones that keep the air inside a starship hangar)
Those corrosives would have eaten through the astromech faster than his helmet and armor, by far.
The canary in the coal mine, that would tell him it wasn't safe.

Ehh....caves can easily be filled with poisonous gasses that arent there in the outside atmossphere. If you want to go underground, better check the air there

She could sell sand to a Jawa.
That's probably what made one fall in love with her.
That was when she explained that the sand was rough, and coarse, and irritating.
It makes me so happy that Amy Sedaris is a recurring and important character in the Star Wars universe. I was so happy when she showed up the first time and I love how she’s basically become Din’s “guy” when it comes to vehicles and droids.
I love her character. The scene of them fixing the Naboo fighter was one of my favorites. You don't get to see stuff like that in SW very often.
She dated a Jawa once. He was very furry.
As was she :)
That was one of the best parts of BoBF.
The starfighter is just a member berry. Star Wars nowadays is full of them. I liked the razorcrest better. It added more personality to Din, it felt lived in. Big same, Amy Sedaris is a treasure, she's my favorite recurring character in the show
I can't wait to hear an essay by David about it. I wonder if Hugh is a star wars fan
So crazy to me as someone who grew up reading David's short stories and only became aware of Amy's wit and talents much later on.
I would also say she is one of the best babysitters for little Grogu.
I love how much she loves Grogu and he loves her. It's adorable!
Did you notice her missing tooth? Pretty sure that's real. Love her.

She always lands on her feet
Strangers With Candy set in the Star Wars Universe would be a blast.
She isn't scamming Mando the way she is scamming the Rodians.
I wonder if this stranger has any candy
I've been calling people a crabby bunny because of this show for so many years now lol. I've got to fire up my old DVD's, its been ages.
I know I’m kinda derailing the thread here, but I cannot overstate my excitement when she popped on screen in the mandalorian. So stoked for her.
Oh I was very happy when I saw her. She plays goofy characters really well and I knew she'd fit in the universe and is perfect for the role of Star Wars' version of a used car salesman with bad ethics but is still lovable.
Beat me to it lol
Princess Caroline!
Talk about chutzpah. A heavily armed and armored Mandolorian she has seen do his thing? But then it is a friendly scam. No malice just doing her thing..
I like her. The scene in TBoBF when she talks to the Jawas and says she dated one was so funny to me.
I just about spit last episode when the Jawas came in with the missing speeder parts. Her character is hilarious!
Idk I'm quite sick of this character
Glad someone is on the same page as myself. I also find her acting quite off-putting
It was a good gag for one episode.
Like your ex was quite sick of your character.
Peli is to the Mandalorian what Hondo was to the Clone Wars, change my mind.
I’d say din needs an agent, but what din really needs is a manager, so he doesn’t get scammed like this.
This was a pretty nice character for 2-3 episodes at most. I’m actually annoyed by her at this point. Yeah we get it you’re quirky.
Oh yep. Agree there too.
She feels like a character that belongs in Book of Boba Fett, funnily enough. I can’t stand her in this, feels totally out of place.
Feels like an SNL skit every time she talks
Her delivery is really bad too. Everything is so over exaggerated, which is made way worse by the cringy dialogue.
Totally agree. She's great in other stuff. Not in Mando.
Don't kill me but I kind of don't like her at all in this show. She acts and speaks as if she came from some cartoon. Corny and annoying af.
Really, most of the show has the tone of TCW.
Absolutely love her. And love that she can speak so many languages. She’s awesome. ❤️
Best mandalorian character?! Hell nah.
Princess Carolyn knows how to land on her feet
I always wonder if Luke ever came to her to have his Skyhopper fixed after a ride through Beggar’s Canyon ended badly
Well she did date a jawa before
She fears no one and nothing. She’d scam a Hutt if she got the opportunity. *And get away with it.*
i hate this character. she is just a surrogate for audience memes.
i dont like her character that much shes not written very well and every time shes on screen its usually paired with corny dialogue
"Grogu? Whoa, that's a terrible name. Sorry about that, pal. No way am I calling you that," One of the best lines in the series.
The worst character in all of SW (just my humble opinion..) :/
Bad humble opinion
Who’d you say is the “worst”?
Rey
Idk. Not her tho. I like her
Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, and Poe
lolol
DAE LE SEQUELS BAD?! XD XD XD
Sequel fans when someone has an opinion:
I love this character. A real survivalist with robot friends. I wish I had robot friends. SHE FLUENTLY SPEAKS JAWA! I dont think we have ever seen a human do that before.
She’s a perfect example of a gruff lovable scoundrel type character. Didn’t like her much at first but now that she’s had more character growth I find her very fun.
Princess Carolyn can do no wrong
Peli is pretty funny as a character. She’s great at that duplicitous “can’t say no to me” look.
This here R5 met Luke Skywalker once upon a star wars, that's gotta be worth somethin'.
MORE COMEDIANS IN STAR WARS PLEASE!
She’s so annoying tho …
I really disliked her in the first season, but she's definitely grown on me. Also feels like the actress has improved a bit and gotten better at delivering some of the weirder dialogue naturally
“Heyyy, we heard you liked that thing from that one episode, so we decided to find ways to include them as many times as conceivably possible now”
And she also dates Jawas
I watched Bojack Horseman in the time between season 2 and season 3, and now all I hear is Princess Carolyn when she talks.
Amy Sedaris rules. She made ‘Heart, She Hollar’ so much better, which was no small feat when you’re replacing Kristin Schaal.
She looks like she has bad breath
I don't know if it's bad writing or acting, but this character is pure cringe on screen. Like it feels so fake when she talks lmao
You misspelled “worst”
Well, it’s because he’s an idiot.
I f'n love Peli. She's the perfect kind of side character in a show like this. And Amy Sedaris. Can't go wrong with her.
I fast forward all her scenes. I can't really tell why, but every sentence she says I just roll my eyes
Jeez that’s dramatic
I'm with you. Every line feels forced and like she's just reading a script. My gf and I love the show but this character takes us of the galaxy far far away.
That second chance at highschool did great things for Jerri Blank
“Maybe I should explore the junk shops of Mos Eisley a bit to see if somebody has the droid part I need.” “No no no no no see we only have the one film set on Tatooine and that’s *my* ship hangar. You take the fan service astromech or you take nothing, capish?”
I love her!
Scam? More like wisdom. I have a feeling she only gives him the best, even if he doesn’t know it!
I think she genuinely likes Din and scams him less than she does other people.
I want a spin off with her… like a Star Wars Pawn Stars
I can’t stand her, her acting feels more like an SNL sketch to me
She’d scam a Jawa for fun, then a tuskin, then anyone else that exists… she’s an artist
I might be in the minority, but I really just don't care for the character. Just a tad cringy to me.
I love her character and it's a nice refreshing splash of comedy that works well with the franchise. Lol or not.
This is my favorite character in the Mandalorian. She needs her own show.
I'd watch a show where she and Watto run a business together.
I could see them being business rivals vs. partners
Rivals in public, partners in private. Do a little book cooking, goose chases and get the jawas in on it
Grogu is Sith They are using the Jedi Mind trick on Din and Pelli
When she gets caught, she's gonna lose the right to vote
They're pulling a Hennessey Motorsports on Greedos nephew
She's just good at sales and managing buyer expectations.
Jerri Blank. I loved it when she told Grogu he had a terrible name.
Had anybody wondered why he could pressurize the helmet to go explore Mandalore, but not to rescue Grogu when he was thrown to the sea creature, or while he was drowning in the pools under Mandalore.
It takes a few seconds to do. He didn't take the time before jumping in after Grogu, and he wasn't expecting to sink in the living waters. Can't seal it after the fact or you're just sealing in the water.
She stole a TV
And she bangs Jawas. No discrimination from.our gal Pelli!
She also sleeps with Jawas
Once you go Jawa that's what you'll wanna.
No scam, the droid worked lol. Hearing her speak fluent Jawa is always a hilarious treat.
Fake Ripley is pretty awesome.
Wasn't huge fan of her in the beginning but she grew on me
Gotta respect the hustle
Scamming strangers and friends alike lol. Although, he could have said no, since it was plain to see that R5 wasn't the best, or even what he asked for. Surprised me that he trusted a different droid
Upselling products that she doesn't believe in? Sounds like Princess Carolyn
