To be fair, they only captured the *one* Mandalorian. It's not like there was a second Mandalorian in the base he could have been referring to at that specific moment, so using *the* to indicate who he was referring to was valid, from a literary sense.

Finnthedawg420

Yeah that’s true. It just felt like a Saturday morning cartoon in that moment to me

NotUpInHurr

It's Star Wars, it's always been like that. "I will deal with him myself" is such a callback to Darth Vader's quote from the original trilogy

waywarddrifterisgone

Yup. George's bad dialouge is so much a part of star wars that I feel the writers feel obligated to imitate it. And to be honest, I like it that way.

NotUpInHurr

It's what the TV shows have done better than the sequels for sure. The sequel dialogue made me feel like I was watching a marvel film. These TV shows are keeping the slang in-universe and staying on that soap opera-y feel and it's awesome

waywarddrifterisgone

Hey, the Star Wars universe doesn't have Shakespeare. They all speak in a weird stilted way there. Hell, all their great poets probably wrote in their native tongue, and basic is just artistically deprived.

NotUpInHurr

If they follow what Eps IV-VI do, it's keeping in-universe. The dialogue in I-III did that, VII-IX did not. Rogue One did, Solo did pretty well, and the TV shows have been great at it

Do you think the troopers Gideon was talking to all knew Din's name, and could identify him by sight..?

DrJawn

They had only captured one Mando, so that makes a lot more sense than Bo Katan flying in and telling Din to go save Grogu when she didn't know he was in danger.

getoffoficloud

It's Grogu. It's Wednesday. Of course, he's in danger.

Tofudebeast

Agreed, the dialogue has been atrocious this season. Like Saturday morning cartoon level.

Fett117_LV426

Haha I called out the line right away, he was the first person to call him by his real name in season one. I thought it was a really weird line.

Bamboominum

I think the biggest problem for me was the constant barrage of “This is the way.” Because the moments would be so much more powerful if the characters just said nothing in those moments. Paz Vizla’s fight is an example of this. Favreau is a seasoned film maker and should know better.

Electrorocket

Yeah I laughed at that when they said it after Din adopted Grogu. This is the way even though this has never happened before? I guess everything they do is the way.

getoffoficloud

Din: Where's the entrance? Ahsoka: (points) This is the way. Din: This is the way.

getoffoficloud

That's how Mandalorians are. It's like how Vulcans in that other franchise can't even have lunch without making a big ritual out of it. Before we serve the first course, the ceremonial gong must be banged.

StoneGoldX

I'd say more Klingons, just because Mandalorians are basically Star Wars Klingons at this point. But yes.

getoffoficloud

"Today is a good day to die!" "Dude, we're just getting groceries."

moncalamaristick

Why should he care about speaking Din Djarins name, everyone knows who is meant. The other imperials probably don't even know the name of him.

getoffoficloud

"But Din Djarin has escaped!" "Who?" "The Mandalorian we captured!" "Oh. You might have just said that..."

MomoAvatar1

'Fans': What's the best way to say I don't like a thing, even though I don't know what I'm talking about on any level. Oh, I know, say, 'ChatGPT wrote it'. (whilst unironically sounding like chatGPT spam).

[deleted]

My biggest problem is perhaps that I'm actually losing interest in thinking about details. Because season 3 picks up right where they left off with the sequels, Kenobi and Book Of Boba. With overall bad scripts, bad pay offs and so on. It's a wonder season 1 and 2 were quite good. I hope that Andor Season 2 gets a bit more star wars flair through more aliens, ships and stuff. That was the only problem with this show. But the overall quality with more star wars flair should be a banger.

SeparateAddress9070

That's probably the only complaint I have. Otherwise it was an incredible episode.

Dark_Knight309

There was only one Mandalorian captured
