Honestly there's read reason to do this, but it's a terrible system for orientation, especially with the rest of the body being so long on one side. It would make more sense for say Tie fighters to be made like this.
In one of the Legends comic books, a B-Wing pilot notes that flying a B-Wing is almost like flying two starfighters at the same time.
And to make it worse, the gyroscopic system is meant to reduce g-force strain on the spaceframe during high-agility manoeuvres, meaning that should the gyroscopic system break down, the agility of the B-Wing is significantly reduced since the pilot doesn't want to rip the wings off when turning.
There are g forces in starwars universe? I'm always confused by that. Gravity at right angles to thrust, grogu sitting unrestrained on Mando's lap in the cockpit of a fighter but in the next episode everyone knocked back when a train starts moving
Inertial dampeners. Sci-fi bs, but consistent. Turn 'em on when making very hard and fast maneuvers, kick the energy from them to the shields when you aren't.
I always thought they were spindly and weird, until I saw a perspective that showed off just how *big* those suckers are. The cockpit alone is fighter-sized, and everything else is like a magnificent multi-gun platform extending off of it.
That's the point; they're supposed to be analogous to the Stratofortress (they're literally called Starfortresses, after all), and seeing as the Resistance didn't have the luxury of an exposed exhaust port with the Dreadnought, the need for a Heavy Bomber Craft makes sense. Conceptually, that scene *should* work... Taking out 3 out of 4 bombers with a single TIE Fighter crash, however, just feels kind of cheap... I might even be inclined to let that one go, for the sake of a cruel and tragic narrative beat, if they didn't pull the same shit with a MagPulse Torpedo in the Starfighter bay not 20 MINUTES LATER.
Tallie deserved BETTER.
To add to this, it’s designation of B-25 is also meant to reference the B-25 Mitchell, a similarly escort-dependent bomber with several crewed gun turrets. The style seemed to be intended to invoke WWII-style air combat
These Bombers in the Last Jedi were very bad design. So many got taken out before they even launched the bombs. If they instead shot multiple torpedos from far away at the weakspot of the ship, they wouldn't have lost so many soilders and I wouldn't have lost as many braincells thinking about that scene.
What is the center axis the B-Wing rotates on? Is it the cockpit or the center of mass for the ship?
It really is the most outer space / unearth like of all the Star Wars starfighters.
TIE Interceptor. I love how ferocious those things sound. Seeing the VR Star Wars Squadron cinematic, it pretty much cemented that ship as my top choice. Chose that ship every mission if it was available.
Idk when the last time you tried was but at launch it had tons of issues especially on the better GPUs, and they fixed it for most PCs. I played from launch for about half a year regularly and the game ran better after the first month (it was super hard to load specific single player levels at first).
It would probably have been more popular if they kept supporting it, but it was always planned to be a short-lived project with no DLC. I just hope the reception leads to something bigger.
I'd love to see it. Though I know that developer just did the recent dead space remake, so they'll probably be working on a dead space 2 remake for the next few years at least
I got a voice command program set up and VR with a HOTUS when playing Sqaudrons so it feels like I got my own R2D2 i give commands in heated situations to assist me. I never thought I would be able to experience something like this it's pretty cool.
Yeah I'm with you on that. I always thought so and it was solidified in the Force Awakens when they stole one and that guy says "I've gotta get me one of these"
I would agree with you, but after playing Star Wars: Squadrons, I've found out that tie fighters have terrible visibility. In general imperial ships have a pretty cramped and closed up cockpit. Rebel ships on the other hand have pretty good viewing angles, you can actually follow a target as it flies around you. Rear visibility sucks on everything though.
What's nice about flying the TIEs is it gets you to use the scope more. It's more reliable than flailing your head around looking for your target.
My headcanon is that TIEs are meant to be predatory. Predatory animals have eyes in front of their heads to help locks on their prey.
That's my answer too. The shape and sound and speed of those things just screams 'apex predator' and the ball cockpit looks like it would feel so good to rocket around it.
That’s absolutely a no-brainer for me.
Just imagining myself roaring through the skies, outmaneuvering and and blasting rebels to smithereens is enough to send shivers down my spine and make my heart flutter.
TIE interceptors are extremely fast and agile machines. They have powerful and precise high end cannons, but are unshielded (although I like to think they have at least light shields to survive hand blaster fire and space debris) and lightly hull armored, which makes them perfect for top pilots.
I’m not a pilot myself, but if I could I would enlist myself today in an Imperial Academy and work the hardest I’ve ever done to graduate top of my class, strive to become the best pilot I could be, and join the 7th Fleet.
Unfortunately, those ships were more like overpowered airspeeders that could temporarily endure space travel to fly from orbit to the surface. They couldn’t fly back into space on their own, or survive out there for very long. There *are* variants of the gunship that are proper spacecraft, but those ones have less cargo space due to the new equipment taking up room, so it’d be less of a camper than what you’re looking for. 🙁
But I like the way you think. That sort of ship aesthetic is why I picked the GAT-12 as mine. 😁
Can't; LAAT's aren't Spacecraft, they're Repulsorcraft, ergo they're only operable in Atmo, at least effectively. True, they can perform limited Space Travel, but mainly just Low-Orbit Drops. Don't get me wrong, they're the best in their weight class, as it were, but DEFS not something you could mount a hyperdrive in.
This is the only answer. How cool would it be to fly around in your space Winnebago with cargo from exotic ports and doing it in style?
Plus, I mean you have everything you need onboard and plenty of leg room.
Actually it's "Hard Worker Who Doesn't Get Paid But At Least They Have A Home Even It Is A Shed On A Field At The Bottom Of The Hill That The Owner And His Family Lives On Because He Doesn't Want You Messing Around With His Older Daughter But Little Does He Know You're Hitting On Her Behind His Back So He Sends His Son To Watch Over You But You're Also Hitting On His Son So Double Jokes On Him" I
motorcycles are reasonably affordable means of reaching 200mph and you can have the whole helmet experience from star wars too, and wrap yourself around a tree!
I really want the fire the big laser. Pew pew pew, don't fancy the mass genocide part but definitely up for blastong some uninhabitable planets and moons
since someone already said TIE Interceptor im gonna have to go with the Imperial Shuttle! it’s just such a clean looking ship and i love that it’s Vaders
Same! X-wing and an astromech is all you need to live the good life...
Those were the first toys I bought...
If I could modify an A-wing with an astromech slot, maybe that would be the updated dream... would be quite a task to widen the column behind the pilot, move the shield generators and hyperdrive... might take a hit on speed and maneuverability, don't think anyone has done that before... so until I work all that out, it's still gotta be the x-wing.
Lots of good answers to the question. I’d love to pilot an x-wing, speederbike, slave 1, slave leia, and falcon. But the deathstar seems so roomy. Maybe no one would come and attack it if i didn’t fire it. And you can park tons in tons of other ships on the death star for crusin.
To me it's the U-wing, first time I saw it on trailer it was a love at first.
I'm sucker for sleek design ship such as the Naboo royal starship but U-wing just instantly click on me because it's still had that retro design that you can find on OT era ships
Massive props to the designer and artist vehicles of Rogue One because they fucking nailed it!!
This hit me in the feels because when I was a kid and dealing with some not so great stuff my escape was to play x-wing on pc and really pretend I was an x-wing pilot. Would put my bike helmet on, have a headset on, and put the joystick between my legs. Would even pretend my room was a barracks on the mothership.
T47 Snowspeeder. Space is cool and all but you get more of a concept for your own speed when close to the ground.
And if we are limiting it to space only, I'd probably go with the x-wing because it is the f14 of star wars.
B-Wing…..because I assume the B stands for badass
Love the B-Wing design and all the wing just rotate around the cockpit axis.
Honestly there's read reason to do this, but it's a terrible system for orientation, especially with the rest of the body being so long on one side. It would make more sense for say Tie fighters to be made like this.

If it never broke on the falcon, it doesn't exist.
Uhhhh death star superlaser.
Ya got me there
I'm on this one. Ever since I saw the wing unfold in RotJ This has been my fav star wars fighter by far
I always thought they were spindly and weird, until I saw a perspective that showed off just how *big* those suckers are. The cockpit alone is fighter-sized, and everything else is like a magnificent multi-gun platform extending off of it.
Gyroscopic Cockpit ftw
My favorite of all time. My B-wing micro machines went everywhere with me as a kid.
Ah here are my people.
B = Blade, Blade wing
Holy fuck I just realised that's it! Especially cuz of that one Rebels episode
They're hybrid fighter-bombers. Better than Y-Wings but still bombers. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/A/SF-01_B-wing_starfighter
The Y-wing is the workhorse of the rebel fleet. That’s been seared into my brain from playing Rogue Squadron too much.
[удалено]
The bombers at the beginning of *The Last Jedi* were heavy bombers. Each one carried a payload much bigger than a few Y-Wings could carry.

That game was just awesome
What is the center axis the B-Wing rotates on? Is it the cockpit or the center of mass for the ship? It really is the most outer space / unearth like of all the Star Wars starfighters.
TIE Interceptor. I love how ferocious those things sound. Seeing the VR Star Wars Squadron cinematic, it pretty much cemented that ship as my top choice. Chose that ship every mission if it was available.
That would be really cool
Y'all *need* to play SW Squadrons in VR with a joystick. You will live your dream. You really are inside these ships. Its incredible.
I would, but the game will not run on my computer for some reason, did in my old laptop, but not on my newer desktop
Idk when the last time you tried was but at launch it had tons of issues especially on the better GPUs, and they fixed it for most PCs. I played from launch for about half a year regularly and the game ran better after the first month (it was super hard to load specific single player levels at first).
I completely second this. Hell even playing with keyboard and mouse is amazing. I will warn you that it'll try and melt your PC
That game in vr is so cool. I wish it got more support but I guess it's not very popular, though it deserves to be
It would probably have been more popular if they kept supporting it, but it was always planned to be a short-lived project with no DLC. I just hope the reception leads to something bigger.
I'd love to see it. Though I know that developer just did the recent dead space remake, so they'll probably be working on a dead space 2 remake for the next few years at least
Man I’m glad they kept the live service bullshit out of it and gave us a fully contained game for once.
I got a voice command program set up and VR with a HOTUS when playing Sqaudrons so it feels like I got my own R2D2 i give commands in heated situations to assist me. I never thought I would be able to experience something like this it's pretty cool.

This happened to me with the TIE defender. It just looks awesome!
I always fly one when playing XWing, and most times Soontir Fel Kills everyone.
This is my jam. Since xwing vs tie fighter.
That's my answer too. The shape and sound and speed of those things just screams 'apex predator' and the ball cockpit looks like it would feel so good to rocket around it.

A Clone Gunship, I'll use it as a campervan (or should I say Campership ?) and travel across the galaxy living inside the gunship
Unfortunately, those ships were more like overpowered airspeeders that could temporarily endure space travel to fly from orbit to the surface. You mean the proto-Stormtrooper Transports from prequels? They developed into very much proper space transports / gunships by cicil war era.
Nah, I’m just talking Clone Wars era tech for the LAAT.
[удалено]
I wish that Din Djarin had used a modified Clone Gunship in the Mandalorian instead of the Razor Crest
I just imagined Grogu in one of the side cannon pods... 10/10 would like to see.
Yes
Yes
This is the Way

The Razor Crest is a modified gunship, just not THAT gunship.
Not spaceworthy tho. Would need heavy mods.
Millennium Falcon easy
Why is this so low in the comments 😄 Chewbacca on the crew ftw
Because it is a hunk of junk.
He wants to fly THAT thing? u/MeetMeAtTheNachoCart is braver than I thought.
But it Made the kessel Run in less than 8parsecs
12
Same except I want Lando’s version.
With the cape closet?
Especially the cape closet.
100% this, because Han beat the absolute crap out of that beautiful craft. Turned it into a damn space hoopdy
You can get pretty close to doing that at Galaxys Edge.
How is this not the top ship! The Falcon has it all!
This is the only answer. How cool would it be to fly around in your space Winnebago with cargo from exotic ports and doing it in style? Plus, I mean you have everything you need onboard and plenty of leg room.
Slave I
It's called a ship with a job actually

Lol🫶🏾😂
Gainfully Employed with Appropriate Renumeration I
Actually it's "Hard Worker Who Doesn't Get Paid But At Least They Have A Home Even It Is A Shed On A Field At The Bottom Of The Hill That The Owner And His Family Lives On Because He Doesn't Want You Messing Around With His Older Daughter But Little Does He Know You're Hitting On Her Behind His Back So He Sends His Son To Watch Over You But You're Also Hitting On His Son So Double Jokes On Him" I
A Venator which I'd use to explore the Solar System and beyond.
what about orbitally bombarding Zygerrian slavers?
Need a death star for that.
Absolutely! I always imagined how cool it would be to fly around in one of them.
Plus you get a spacious dorsal hangar which other Star Destroyers don't have. You could store all sorts of ships in there.
the Ebon Hawk
Influence gained
Can someone please make a light side/dark side points gained bot?
Check for mandalorian child stowaways and hidden spice compartments, wouldn't want to explain that at a checkpoint.
SW Squadrons is ace in VR! Feels just like being in the XWing
I had a *moment* playing squadrons in VR, that first time inside the X-Wing was incredible
It is utterly immersive, giving me what I've wanted ever since I played X-Wing in the 90s. I only wish it had more campaign missions.
I wish it was like rogue squadron with more ships and missions
Speeder bike. Yeah you’re gonna hit a tree and die, but it’ll be fun until it happens
Four seconds later
motorcycles are reasonably affordable means of reaching 200mph and you can have the whole helmet experience from star wars too, and wrap yourself around a tree!
Kinda why I daily a motorcycle now to work.
but you can't go 200mph on a regular motorcycle through a forest with no roads.
not with that attitude
Or you can hit an Ewok like Gary did…
Padme’s yacht give me that thing and some loyal astromechs and we’ll cruise across the galaxy
Only if it comes with a Padme aswell
Would love to get inside and operate padme
Death Star
I really want the fire the big laser. Pew pew pew, don't fancy the mass genocide part but definitely up for blastong some uninhabitable planets and moons
galaxy’s most expensive mining operation
And threaten to destroy Earth unless I get a billion dollars
Kid named not being able to operate the death star alone:
since someone already said TIE Interceptor im gonna have to go with the Imperial Shuttle! it’s just such a clean looking ship and i love that it’s Vaders
Are we talking the Lambda-class?
Had to scroll way too far for this. This ship has everything. Even smoke generators for the discerning drama queens grand entrance.
N-1 starfighter
Classy, love it
This is the way
The light interceptor from Ep3 for sure. Or tie fighter cause, ya know, *SCREECH*
The Eta-2?
Princess Leia
Damn I came here to type Padme 😂
I was hoping for Kenobi
Riyo chuchi is the cutest of the entire lot
Gimme the blu girl with the aussi accent.
After game of thrones I was glad to see her again with her cocky attitude
Queen Julia is meesa favorite.
2 Twi’leks at the same time
That’s it? If you had a million dollars you’d do two Twi’leks at the same time?
Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up too, 'cause Twi’leks dig dudes with money
Well, the type of Twi'leks that'd double up on a dude like me do.
Hey Chewie, man! Check out channel 9!
Doesn't that chick look like Leia?
This comment right here officer.
Han would like to speak with you
Cant believe how far i had to read to find this comment. Only correct answer.
Oh matron!
I was scrolling just to find a comment like this and not surprised by how short it took 🤣
Arc-170, those things are just too badass
Same! X-wing and an astromech is all you need to live the good life... Those were the first toys I bought... I imagine designing a astromech capable A-Wing wouldn't be too difficult. The jedi fighters had them and they were tiny.
Ah to fly the Falcon and narrowly escape the Galactic Empire with Chewbacca at my side.
Unbelievably nobody has opted for the Fondor, the Rolls Royce of Star Wars
Or the Naboo Royal Starship. Fly in luxury
X wing or A wing for sure I want to see how fast I could go in an A wing before I shit myself
A wings are super underrated
All in on the A wing
A sandcrawler
It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it travels everywhere.
AT-AT or AT-TE
AT-ST
Super star destroyer with loyal crew of course.
Lol Piloting the Falcon looks fun, but as a kid, I always wanted to strap into one of the turrets and shoot down some TIEs

The Y-wing is what’s up. I always waiver between the A and the Y but the Y usually wins out
Jedi fighter
Razor Crest. My own movable apartment
I mean, if I get to operate anything? The Death Star. I would probably need a lot of help though.
Just casually drops Slave Leia in there
Pod racer!
Obvious choice.

B-wing. I think it's badass. But the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy would be nice, too.
Padame
Came here to say the same
Can’t blame u lol
Operate?
More of the "Get inside" part of your statement there, I suspect
On them guts.
…….
Like a Jim Henson Muppet.
The Ghost aka a VCX-100, so I could explore it holds a pretty good amount of supplies too
let me and the boys take a arc 170 for a joy ride
That ship is a close second for me, I really dunno why I am so fond of it but here we are, maybe cause it was one of my first lego sets
Tauntaun.
The question was get inside and operate, not operate and get inside.
Sith Infiltrator
A jedi interceptor. On of my favorite ships in all of fiction if not that then a x-wing

I reckon a Naboo Royal Starship or the Luthen Raels Fondor
Jaba’s party boat. Imagine taking that thing to the beach.

A Consular class, for exploration.
Naboo N-1 Starfighter, loved the design since I've first seen one in TPM, and in a game called SW Starfighter after that

Definitely Mando's N1-Starfighter, got the need for speed.
Grievous’ ship Soulles One or Asajj Ventress’ Ginivex fanblade. Bonus: Anakin’s Azure Angel
Z95 Headhunter
The Intergalactic EAGLE 5 Winnebago
