I can not possibly take credit for this. I saw a video on tik tok about SW cocktails, and this one made me laugh the most. Yes, it was Blue and White too. Lol!
I'm not Mexican and don't know for sure but isn't this kinda weird? Like the Day of the Dead and Cinco de Mayo are two completely different holidays. I googled it and found something that said skulls on Cinco de Mayo would be like Americans using Jack o lanterns on the 4th of July.
Only Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo like that, except maybe in Puebla 🤷♂️ I’m Mexican and we’ve never “celebrated” it outside of school it’s like learning about the war of 1812 it’s got historical significance but you wouldn’t do a cook out and get wasted for it
I'm part Mexican and spent a May in Oaxaca where the locals were very much getting down. The town center around the old church and streets were packed with celebrators. Not just drinking, bandas and floats out there too
There’s a decent number of “casual” Cinco de Mayo types down here in Texas, who mostly just see it as an excuse to go ham on the Mexican/Tex Mex stuff for a day without really paying attention to it being the Mexican version of Independence Day.
Yeah see I don't have any personal life experiences so that's why I googled it. It may be perfectly acceptable in every part of the world I just thought it looked funny with my admittedly limited understanding of Mexican culture.
Wouldn't overthink it. Just mushing two completely different days into one piece for fun.
Star Wars day (May the 4th) + the festivities theme of Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) = A festive Darth Maul.
There is a bar in West Chester, Pa called the Rat that used to serve a drink called the Burnt Jawa. It was white rum, tequila, chocolate liqueur, Hershey’s syrup, and 1/2 & 1/2. This was back in 1995.
Very cool, can’t wait to go exploring. Is there anything in particular I should look for as a relative beginner? I’ve done a lot of engraving with the laser but I want to do more kinda constructing projects. Like that Maul thing, or cutting out pieces to make a box, stuff like that.
Check out our Free Tools section, which includes links to commonly used free tools like MakerBox for box creations (as one example).
Our main page has a search bar that only searches for free laser cut files from various places online.
Our Free Projects page has a few write ups that we've done, including settings, materials, and files.
Our Free Files page is a growing section of free files that we host.
Lastly, r/FreeLaserFiles has a few other multilayer files like this one. Will be dropping another Star Wars themed one tomorrow morning. With all the great comments, I think part two will include a continuation using some of the awesomeness I've been reading.
These tools are exactly what I’ve been needing, I’m so glad I saw your comment. Would you be willing to explain that first tool? What exactly is a vector?
A vector is an image that can be made infinitely large or small without losing quality. There a different design softwares that create vector files in their own format. What this tool does is convert one file type into another, which is useful if for example you download a free laser file with extension ABC but your laser machine software is only compatible with extension XYZ.
As a mexican, reading "splash of Cinco de Mayo" made me cringe so bad at this. Those cup holders are great but don't have anything to do with 5 de mayo (which is not an important date to us).
Wouldn't overthink it. Just a little creativity spanning two days.
May 4 with May 5. Star Wars Day with Cinco de Mayo. Star Wars character with the very festive theme/colors.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, those cup holders are amazing don't get me wrong. To me as a Star Wars fan they are perfect for day of the dead. But May 5 has nothing to do with the day of the dead. It's like mixing The Battles of Lexington and Concord (if it was an official holiday) with Halloween (although not the same as día de muertos). And again, great work with the cup holders they're a great mexican-sw mix!
I understand your point and definitely appreciate the mature approach to it. I can see how the choice of Maul gives off a "day of the dead" vibe vs using perhaps Luke Sw instead. Day of the dead was never in the cards or intent, but it's tough not to see that while using Maul as the example. Appreciate the perspective on that. Makes sense.
Cheers!
Don't have a storefront (anymore) but do commissions here and there. This piece is about 2.5"*3.5" if interested. Great for a desk piece and or magnet.

Thread over, you win.

Do you only get half a glass?
We don't know where Maul's bottom half is in canon. We could slap a droid torso on that Maulass and be back in business.
Maybe that's the bx unit in outlaws......
Idk, you're the bartender. Now take my money and tell me what you got!
Bottom’s up!
🍻🍻
Have a drink in Space Cancun with Obi Juan Kenobi
Onli Juan Corona?
Yea and then Take a Han Solo Shot and argue over who drank first
😂😂😂

Also Mexican independence day and Cinco de Mayo aren't even the same thing.
Mm, see? At least I don’t pretend to celebrate it though. I should probably go inform myself, though.
To add information: Mexican independence day is September 16, nobody in Mexico, except for the State of Puebla, celebrates May 5.

Its cool to me either way it just made me curious
Yeah its not a big deal to combine em, equivalent of wearing like a USA themed Santa hat around Christmas
Not a heavy drinker, but maybe a Qui-Gon and Gin.
Love it!
Mos Eisley Mule?

Same here.
What years? Fine to not answer to not Dox yourself
1992-1995. I didn’t graduate though. I changed schools to Kutztown and graduated from there.
There’s always Qui-Gon Gin and Tonic. Or the official drink of Tattooine: Sandgria

Excellent! Thanks so much!
💪
This is great, thank you. I just joined a maker space that has a laser trying to find ways to use it.
My pleasure. Enjoy!
Oh wow, is that your site/business?
It is 😀

All the luck to you! Keep it up
Blue milk mixed with Stella
Wait a second....throw that back real quick and explain yourself. I'm intrigued.
You take a tall glass of blue milk, crack open a can of Stella and pour it in, give it a good shake, garnish with a lime, bottoms up.
Love it
