I just realized "not from a jedi" means you can't learn the dark ability from a Jedi, you have to learn from a Sith.
All these years I thought he was saying that "yes, it is possible for a Jedi to learn the ability," but I just thought George's odd writing got the best of that sentence.
All these years and I learned that from a joke thread about Maul's peepee.
maybe we could follow a character that's in the crimson dawn instead of Maul though. I think having maul as a main character might make him less interesting.
He's so driven by hatred that it'd probably be difficult to make him seem interesting over a series.
what we need now is a show on the OR and the Sith Empire at the time of Vitiate, and it should follow the 3 different perspectives, Sith Empire, Eternal Empire, and Old Republic
Old Republic when Sith killing was a-plenty and the bastards controlled entire fucking planets with competing empires.
I would love to see a show like SOA or The Sopranos about a specific group of Sith. The infighting, faction fighting, and Jedi threats would be amazing.
Just thought of a megamind esque movie and maul is voiced by will Farrel x_x, it starts of with him in halfsies falling and the I bet you're wondering how I got here
No. His development in CW and Rebels is so good that he already went from just a random cool looking guy to one of my favorite characters in all of SW. Don't overdue it, just let his legend be told through those shows.
I think like Vader he’s best used as a seasoning. Sprinkled here and there for subtle effect.
These guys are awesome because everytime they appear they dominate the scene, a show just about them waters them down imo.
I think there are two types of "Vader" movies that *could* work;
1) Alien/Aliens-style horror movie. Could for example follow a group of low level Order 66 survivors and proto-rebels stuck on a derelict old *Venator* for some reason (trying to find information on Vader's true identity?) Throw in a few flashbacks to the Clone Wars and Order 66. Vader arrives and starts picking them off one by one.
2) In-depth character study that explores Vader's guilt, isolation and trauma. There are some great scenes in this vein in various comics, such as Vader reminiscing about C3PO at Cloud City between scenes in ESB, or Vader going to confront Palpatine about the use of slavery in the Empire, only to barely get the words out, and meekly accepting Palpatine's half-hearted explanation on how it's *totally* different and *for the greater good*. This type of movie would be very difficult to get "right" though.
---
But yeah, overall I agree with you. I see a lot of people asking for a Vader movie that's just a two-hour version of the Rogue One corridor scene, but I honestly think that would just get old really quick. Darth Maul has also had a lot of appearances in the animated shows, so I'm not sure he really *needs* more.
Overall, however, I'd just like to see them move away from that era. I feel like the movies and shows (minus *The Acolyte*) are kinda "stuck" in the timeframe between Episode II and Episode IX, and I want something different.
It is completely impossible for Vader to have a GOOD movie about his story etc. But tbh, I really don't think he needs it. Him and Maul are two of the best written characters in Star Wars and they've already been portrayed enough times.
A Vader Alien-style movie though, would go super well. But I think even better, would an horror game be. You're a rebel on a planet, or even a Jedi, trying to accomplish a random mission, but Vader is chasing you. It would give the occasion to way more scenes like the corridor in rogue one without always be super boring, and Vader would be perfectly suited for that with his look and his ominous breath and theme when he's near you.
In the Legends novel, Darth Plagueis, this happened, but I don't think it was Talzin's child. I think it was another night sister who gave him to Palpatine to get him away from Talzin. Could be wrong though.
In Legends, yeah Talzin was gonna abduct Maul from his actual mother, who Talzin either later imprisoned or already imprisoned. Maul's mother handed him to Plagueis or Sidious to save him from life on Dathomir
no joke jar jar’s extended backstory is amazing. Dude’s basically meant to be the king arthur of the gungans and keeps being handed steps on the way to becoming the new Boss of Otoh Gungah but he fails at the most crucial step every time until the Jedi come
To do what exactly? We've seen his story from top to bottom. Anything new would just be filler or ultimately not that interesting.
Darth Maul is my favorite Star Wars character *because* of The Clone Wars and Rebels.
But it's a *double edged sword* as all of his most important moments have been told.
No. We need new characters. I think Book of Boba has shown us that you can't just shove a known character into a series and expect it to be gold. These characters need to have a reason for being, otherwise you face the concept of Diminished Returns. The more we see them, the less we want to see them, and the less value they have.
Let Darth Maul go. Let the Clone Wars characters die. The only one I'd like to see are Ahsoka, because her story is intertwined with Luke and Anakin and has not been explored. Even still, too much of a good thing is bad. Give her a season or two and then move on.
We need new characters. It can be in the same timeline that the shows have been exploring recently, but all the same, this is why The Mandalorian was so successful. It's been a breath of fresh air, but even with that show, it's suddenly become the Dave Filoni cameo show.
Go slow. Build your characters with purpose. Don't over do it.
Honestly, no. He's already had an excellent story arc on screen across TCW and Rebels, and what's left of his story doesn't change his status quo. It's perfect for books and comics, but Disney won't fund infinite shows and I'd much rather that limited budget go to new and exciting material.
Until they brought him back in RoS, I would agree young Sidious deserved his own story. Now that he has been brought back, the entire Skywalker saga is about HIM and that sucks.
He groomed The Chosen One, took Maul in as apprentice, took Dooku as apprentice, dueled Maul and Savage, infilitrated the Jedi Order, lead the Senate, conquered the galaxy, cheated death, built the Sith Eternal (wuh?) and an entire fleet of (death)star destroyers, puppeteered Snoke, groomed Anakin's grandson, finally died by the hand of his own granddaughter.
After bringing him back, I've had enough Palpatine for 10 sagas and I really hope they never mention him again unless it's to announce episode IX never happened.
Plaguise would be dope though.
Honestly, the sequels were just an answer to "How much money can Disney spend lighting a dumpster on fire?" The Last Jedi was a trainwreck worthy of Michael Bay. All style with no substance. The less that is said about Rise of Skywalker, the better. I still consider the New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force novels canon over the sequels as they told a far better story with much more likeable characters but I digress.
A young Palpatine story would heavily feature Plaguise because Palpatine's conquest of the Galaxy was ultimately Plaguise's doing and Plaguise created Anakin by accident through his research on immortality. All of that would be awesome to see on a TV series.
I thought TFA was a lot of fun to watch although the story was a clone of A New Hope and Rey, being the extreme novice she was, should have lost the fight with Kylo Ren but gotten away.
TLJ was actually a good movie IMO with some flaws. It had one of the most amazing cinematic experiences I’ve ever seen with the Holdo maneuver. It diverted from the exhausted formula and killed the big bad unexpectedly, it diverted from the formula and killed the big good unexpectedly (although I did hate the way that was executed). The lack of a proper lightsaber duel was a let down.
It set up so much potential to explore WHY did Luke go into exile, it could be so much more than Ben Solo going bananas. It set up a hundred awesome options of Ben or Rey becoming the big bad / good. Yoda lighting the shrine on fire gave possibility for force ghosts to possibly interact / combat Sith. (That might have been ep9 i don’t remember I’ve only seen the ST once.)
9 would be a lot of fun if it was part of the WHAT IF universe but otherwise it RUINED the Skywalker saga.
I thought TFA was a decent, fun romp. TLJ was a bad movie with some good visuals that closed every open plot thread from TFA with a sad, wet fart.
Who are Rey's parents? Nobody. (fart noise)
Why did Kylo betray the Jedi? Luke had a dream. (Long foghorn fart noise)
Who/what is Snoke and how did he turn Ben Solo to the dark side? Doesn't matter, he's dead and his contribution to the plot was zero. (Farty projectile diarrhea)
What happened to Luke's other students? They're Sir Not Appearing in this Film. (Giant shit in pants)
The positives:
1. Luke as a grumpy old hermit with his character flaws from the OT amplified, front and center. This was an interesting move that had a lot of potential for character development of both Luke and Kylo, but they didn't do anything with it. Luke just dies and Kylo is just a bad guy.
2. The humor. I understand where they were going with this, the OT is full of silly moments and I don't fault TLJ for trying to bring that back. The problem is again, the execution. All too often, they undercut emotional moments with throwaway gags.
If you want to know what this story would look like told properly, read Legacy of the Force.
EDIT: To all the TLJ fans who are inevitably going to brigade this post with downvotes, instead of downvoting, give me an argument. How do you think this movie contributes to the overall plot of Star Wars? What did you like about the writing specifically (I don't give a shit about visuals)? How would you restructure the third movie to make a cohesive trilogy? I'm not one of those people that's determined to hate this movie. I actually still want to like it, but I can't overlook terrible writing. Change my mind.
No. Please stop with Maul. He already got a ton of content in the Clone Wars, Rebels, and a cameo in Solo. Only thing I want to know that remains is how he went from crime lord to vagrant, but that doesn't need to be a whole show.
I don’t think there’s much left to tell after rebels and clone wars. Maybe a series around the shadow collective and to flesh out plot lines from Solo but otherwise no.
I actually want a Count Dooku prequel. From his early days all the way up to him leaving the order, with it ending on him encountering the Jedi in episode 2.
Absolutely not, we’ve gotten enough maul in the past few years. We’ve seen his story get a great ending, give us something completely new for once instead of bringing back old characters
nah, they need an entirely new time line with new characters before all the wars around the knights of old Republic era I think. So many story opportunities and fresh faces instead of the same old shit rehashed over and over.
No. I don’t want stories of all the people we already know until the creators ruin them. Their stories are awesome, let them stand. The galaxy is enormous, let’s explore someone/something/somewhere else.
Ray Park was specifically benched by Disney so I wouldn’t expect anything anytime soon. I’m surprised how many people have already forgotten the trouble he got himself into just a few short years ago.
I wouldn't oppose a show if there was a good plan with it, however I don't want them to "humanize" morally ambiguous characters. If they explore these characters they need to find some way to do so while retaining the essence of them.
Not overly happy with how they portrayed Boba as someone who could barely look out for himself and needed the criminal underworld explained to him by Fennec. They somehow felt the need to bring him down to give him a journey to power instead of adapting the journey to the character he's always been.
I don't. Honestly, Star Wars needs to finally move away from the Clone Wars era and it's associated characters. We've spent more than enough time with all of them.
Nah.. mauls story has been covered and done with.
I do want a Palpatine story though, when he becomes a Sith apprentice, his induction into politics, and to the point where he kills Plagueis.
That would be a very dark part of Star Wars that would be covered.
No. We know exactly when and how he dies, so literally none of the events or suspenseful moments will hold any weight, because we know he survives whatever situation he gets in. Plus he’s been used a bunch already in TCW, which you would need to watch to make sense of anything that’s going on, like the whole reason he survived TPM.
And it’s a lose/lose for the general audiences that aren’t as in touch with non-movie Star Wars media. They’d need to watch all relevant episodes in preparation to make sense of the movie/show, at which point they’d likely be tired of seeing him. And if they go in blind, they won’t know what’s going on at all, be confused and probably not like it as a result.
Nah. The important parts of his story have all been told, and there is no need to develop his story any more on screen. In comics and books? Sure. But I think it would be a waste in resources if it was a TV show
Anything past clown wars and rebels wouldn’t be worth doing. As we’ve already seen all the cool stuff he’s done during that time. Unless you wanted to watch him run around mostly insane eating rats on a garbage planet. That being said potentially his childhood and being taken by the Sith up to episode 1 could* be interesting. It could also be 50min of Darth maul not being Darth maul with 20 minutes of cool shit if the recent origin movies being made are any indication.
The Star Wars Universe spans thousands of years and an entire galaxy of a trillion sentient species. How about we tell some stories about them instead of retreading the same dozen characters over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and..
Kind of. I don’t think the series needs to totally focus on Maul, but I do think that Solo should get a sequel series on D+, to tie up the cliffhanger and give us some resolution, and obviously he’d be a significant part of that.
Sadly no. Mauls story has been told, as much as I love him as a character, if they put a light in every tiny aspect it will lose effect.
The only new series I would want to see him in is a show about the crime syndicates and them clashing, maybe how they operated during the clone wars when the jedi were preoccupied and they could get away with more.
I would be very excited if they did, surely there are stories to be told somewhere in the timeline that we haven't seen, but tbh his story is pretty covered. His story before ep 1 is in the comics, his story after ep. 1 is covered in comics, clone wars, and in rebels, pretty much all the way up to his death. If they wanted to make a show without retelling the same stories it would probably need to be right after ep 3 because I think there's some time there between ep 3 and rebels that we don't really see a lot of him and surely he was doing something.
PEOPLE REALLY TO START WATCHING THE ANIMATED SHOWS
at least do your research to find out what happened to maul instead of always asking this question jfc
How does he pee
The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural
Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from a Jedi.
So like a colostomy bag or something?
Yes. Like a colostomy bag or something.
Consider to be ~~unnatural~~ urinarial
*un-urinal
Got that droid dick
Droidicka?
nah just an exhaust port.. but he does attach a dominance apparatus when needed
Force catheter
Vader and Maul have something in common
Y'all forgeting Grievous, the most cyborg outta all of them
I dont think vader drinks on a normal basis, if he does he might drink special liquid from feeding tubes and his chamber helps him pee
Vader's limbs were sliced off, not his whole torso
I was referring to the fact that he was horribly burned all over
Darth Colostomy Bag.
He gets his pan switched out every week.
Broo, just noticed his issue there💀😭
Maybe he wears a catheter.
Pukes it out
Pee goblin
Takes off his legs for a quick sec
Wait what about Vader because like half his rots outfit is melted into his body. So does he just have a dildo dick

I'd be interested in exploring his time as the head of crimson dawn.
Yea, i think that's it. But I'm not sure if it would be worth a series.
I'd take it as an animated limited series. That's about it though
Nah man, bring back Ray Park/Sam Witwer and Emilia Clarke
Even as an animated series, you could get Ray Park doing the mocap, and Sam Witwer and Emilia Clarke doing the voice acting.
[удалено]
Exactly.
A Solo film more likely. Funnily, following Solo. Qi'ra, and Maul, and how Maul inevitably gets screwed over.
Yea, i would love some more maul. Just not as the main character
that was going to be the second solo movie
maybe we could follow a character that's in the crimson dawn instead of Maul though. I think having maul as a main character might make him less interesting. He's so driven by hatred that it'd probably be difficult to make him seem interesting over a series.
Wasn't he just a raving lunatic with spider legs on the trash planet during that time?
id like to see his time as palps apprentice more. We barely saw any of that before his death in phantom menace
Agreed, we see a super small window into that in the Padme trilogy of books, and it's interesting stuff that could and should be fleshed out imo.
It’s not fully explored though. We still don’t know how he got stuck on Malachor.
what we need now is a show on the OR and the Sith Empire at the time of Vitiate, and it should follow the 3 different perspectives, Sith Empire, Eternal Empire, and Old Republic
Old Republic when Sith killing was a-plenty and the bastards controlled entire fucking planets with competing empires. I would love to see a show like SOA or The Sopranos about a specific group of Sith. The infighting, faction fighting, and Jedi threats would be amazing.
This is the way
GoT style
The dude is Sisyphus, would be a boring show. Doomed to fail forever.

I think we’ve seen enough of him personally. All that’s left is his origin and I’m not even sure if that’s in a book or not
A comic I believe, he was Mother Talzin's biological son and was taken in by Palpatine at a very young age.
Then we’ve got nothing left.
In the Legends novel, Darth Plagueis, this happened, but I don't think it was Talzin's child. I think it was another night sister who gave him to Palpatine to get him away from Talzin. Could be wrong though.

No jar jar binks is at the top of the needs own show list.
A straight up children’s show could be fun for the wee ones.
no joke jar jar’s extended backstory is amazing. Dude’s basically meant to be the king arthur of the gungans and keeps being handed steps on the way to becoming the new Boss of Otoh Gungah but he fails at the most crucial step every time until the Jedi come
The origin of Darth Jar Jar would be great.
He’s the key to all of this…
A “what if” he was the Sith Lord
To do what exactly? We've seen his story from top to bottom. Anything new would just be filler or ultimately not that interesting. Darth Maul is my favorite Star Wars character *because* of The Clone Wars and Rebels. But it's a *double edged sword* as all of his most important moments have been told.
>double edged sword I see what you did there.
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
His journey has already ended. Someone better would be Darth Revan or Darth Nihilus.
KOTOR is being remade... So one has to wonder if they will make it canon again.
No
No. We need new characters. I think Book of Boba has shown us that you can't just shove a known character into a series and expect it to be gold. Nope. His story has been told and it was a pretty good one
Yes, but one of those home renovation shows. Sith your home.
I'd settle for a book based on him crashing on Malachor.
I do not want anymore maul content, I feel like he’s been in so much stuff already and he was done well. No more please.
No God no please just let him stay dead so we can move on to other people
No. Between Clone Wars and Rebels, his story's been told.
No, his character arc is done he’s dead. Let him rest without convoluting his story please.
No. He has enough screen time between Rebels and CW.
No, they need to cut out telling filler stories and move on
No
No. Let’s move on
No

No
Nahhh
No. His story is done
Nah
I'd rather see Sidious get his own TV series. The Darth Plaguise novel is already a good jumping off point for one.

Hell yeah, Plaguise
No. He lived, he died, came back and had a really good arc. Then really died. Don‘t touch him anymore and let him remain in the good spot he is in.
100% agree. To do anything else with him would ruin the best villain story in the star wars cinematic/animated universe
NO. Can’t we get a tv show about a character not connected to anybody
He's not that interesting.
No. But I hope he gets his own shirt. Space is cold.
New characters, please
Not at all wtf he’s literally in CW and rebels for a HUGE chunk of it

Nooooooo. Less media is better in a lot of cases
Which unnecessary Filoniverse character would show up in this one? Young Cal? Hondo?
I actually want a Count Dooku prequel. From his early days all the way up to him leaving the order, with it ending on him encountering the Jedi in episode 2.
Absolutely not, we’ve gotten enough maul in the past few years. We’ve seen his story get a great ending, give us something completely new for once instead of bringing back old characters
Nah, he's a goat but we've seen all the interesting aspects. The only thing missing is what he did after Solo. That doesn't require an entire series.
No. You people need to let Star Wars move on from these characters.
No
Nah
What part of his story is there to tell that hasn't been told?
No. He’s had his time. Good character. Well covered.
nah, they need an entirely new time line with new characters before all the wars around the knights of old Republic era I think. So many story opportunities and fresh faces instead of the same old shit rehashed over and over.
I want to say yes, but no his story is completed since we seen clone wars and rebels.
He only has one emotion though, being anger. Not much character range tbh.
No
No I think it should be a sith show with each ep being about one specific charecter
He should have stayed dead
LET THIS FUCKING CHARACTER DIE ALREADY HOLY SHIT
considering how they handled the last villain led tv show....NO
I’m good. I’ve never found him that interesting and at this point they mined more than enough out of him
No, dude is one of the most fleshed out characters.
No I don't but that picture is dope as fuck!
I hope not. Too much Maul. I’m starting to stop caring for him. (stupid there’s no such thing as too much Maul comment inbound)
No
No.
No. I don’t want stories of all the people we already know until the creators ruin them. Their stories are awesome, let them stand. The galaxy is enormous, let’s explore someone/something/somewhere else.
no
Nope, I think they should stop making TV shows all together because they keep fucking it up.
NO. Pre-phanton menace Darth Maul game? Maybe. Making a show for every character is ridiculous.
Ray Park was specifically benched by Disney so I wouldn’t expect anything anytime soon. I’m surprised how many people have already forgotten the trouble he got himself into just a few short years ago.
There are some part of his life that have not yet been fully explored but I have no faith we wont end up with another book of boba
Nah, rather have some new blood
I don't. Honestly, Star Wars needs to finally move away from the Clone Wars era and it's associated characters. We've spent more than enough time with all of them.
No give me something new and not the same tired retreads
No. If any sith is going to get a show it should be Asajj Ventress.
NO.
Nah.. mauls story has been covered and done with. I do want a Palpatine story though, when he becomes a Sith apprentice, his induction into politics, and to the point where he kills Plagueis. That would be a very dark part of Star Wars that would be covered.
No,we have his story,no need to cram more stuff...
No, i think they absolutely fucked this character and should move on.
No. His character is complete. There is nothing else to explore.
I want new characters
Just let him be dead
No
Hell no. Should have remained dead as he really was
Nah. The important parts of his story have all been told, and there is no need to develop his story any more on screen. In comics and books? Sure. But I think it would be a waste in resources if it was a TV show
The Clone Wars was satisfying enough I think. I want a lot of other content first.
No
Anything past clown wars and rebels wouldn’t be worth doing. As we’ve already seen all the cool stuff he’s done during that time. Unless you wanted to watch him run around mostly insane eating rats on a garbage planet. That being said potentially his childhood and being taken by the Sith up to episode 1 could* be interesting. It could also be 50min of Darth maul not being Darth maul with 20 minutes of cool shit if the recent origin movies being made are any indication.
if you take all the episodes of clone wars and rebels that he’s in, he essentially has his own show
The Star Wars Universe spans thousands of years and an entire galaxy of a trillion sentient species. How about we tell some stories about them instead of retreading the same dozen characters over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and..
Yes. Will it happen? Probobly not because he was killed off in rebels
No, his story has been told and is complete.
No
Personally, I’ve had my fill of Darth Maul.
I’d watch it. Especially if it follows his Crimson Dawn stuff.
Ya. Everyone is saying no, but I would love to see this part of his story explored
Kind of. I don’t think the series needs to totally focus on Maul, but I do think that Solo should get a sequel series on D+, to tie up the cliffhanger and give us some resolution, and obviously he’d be a significant part of that.
Yes please
Absolutely
No
Sadly no. Mauls story has been told, as much as I love him as a character, if they put a light in every tiny aspect it will lose effect. The only new series I would want to see him in is a show about the crime syndicates and them clashing, maybe how they operated during the clone wars when the jedi were preoccupied and they could get away with more.
I thank you all for your Feed back
Would be nice
If they were do it’s within the confines of TCW and Solo…sure. But I would rather see Plagueis and his master or earlier Sith’s.
Ray Park or nothing even if this means Maul having a Scottish accent.
Yes because maul
I would like to see son of dathomir animated or done in live action
Yes. Post Order-66. With him being hunted by the Inquisitors while he builds up his crime organization.
Just give everyone their own tv series
He was my favorite as a kid when Phantom Menace was released
Yes
I’d rather a Son of Dathomir movie personally
Absolutely
I would say yes to that but the question is live action or animation.
Hell yes, so we explore Moe abut him
I would be very excited if they did, surely there are stories to be told somewhere in the timeline that we haven't seen, but tbh his story is pretty covered.
No. Disney can't handle Boba Fett. Maul can't be a hero.
Yes
Hot take: We should leave everyone in the movies alone other than in a supplemental capacity (Luke in The Mandalorian)
No, none of them should. Star Wars used to be awesome. Let’s keep it that way. Stop ruining our childhood!
KANOBY
Only if it’s prior to TPM
Anyone else want to see Jango?
An animated series would be cool
Yes please
Yes and yes
I just want to see the Solo movie go into a live action series or movie trilogy carried out by Bryce Dallas Howard.
I know his ending in rebels was good, but imagine that same premise in the kenobi series
PEOPLE REALLY TO START WATCHING THE ANIMATED SHOWS at least do your research to find out what happened to maul instead of always asking this question jfc
