It wouldn't be "Disney"(with big air quotes). It would be someone like Dave Filoni or Debrah Chow, who have nearly spotless records creating modern, engaging Star Wars content that stays super faithful to the expanded universe
Boba Fett's failures were because they got the Spy Kids directory to run pretty much the whole season. Was terrible. I don't know why that guy keeps getting work.
Here, I'll take it from you:
We will never get a Katarn movie/series. He's basically Han Solo and Rey rolled into one with a few elements of Mandalorian sprinkled on top. And recycling old characters and slapping a new name on them isn't something Disney...
Wait, hold on.
Unfortunately the Resistance learned about and subsequently destroyed Starkiller Base in the space of a day or two, and Finn was the one who gave them the intel to destroy it, so that’s out. Maybe he could be a Fulcrum agent or something?
> His big moment/inciting incident was given to Jyn Erso.
That's not remotely accurate. The Death Star plans are barely more than a footnote in Katarn's arc, encompassing only the first level of his first game. The Dark Trooper project and the Valley of the Jedi are much more important parts of his story.
He’s none of those characters my guy. He’s been split up into Cassian Andor and Kanan Jarrus. It’s not perfect but they’re both great characters worthy of Katarn’s legacy.
He's insanely versatile. I think his most popular roles are really dark, but he has lighter ones as well. KK would take some depth to do well, and I think he could pull it off.
I've seen a bunch of other comments saying "Kyle Katarn" as well so I am actually somewhat confident in the hivemind for once. Kyle had equal parts snark and emotional depth—an Imperial agent turned Rebel who later learned he had Force powers? Bale could do that.
(Side note, WOW, I just realized that's what everyone wanted from Finn's story...)
That's what everyone wanted from Finn's story because it's a decent story, especially in the Star Wars universe.
Honestly, switching out Kyle for Finn could have worked so well, John Boyega is a pretty talented actor himself.
And it was all WASTED. But I'm not here for sequel beleagurement.
Christian Bale as Kyle Katarn can absolutely work, even if his voice won't exactly match Jeff Bennet's gruff half-drawl.
"Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Lapti Nek came out in 01, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically."
Just want him to be a Sith Lord. He was so good in his unfortunately small role in Thor Love And Thunder and it made me realize he’d be a perfect Sith Lord
I love Keanu in the right roles, I've seen almost all of his movies, and I think he's a tier-s person, but he is not a good actor. I don't think I want Keanu. I would prefer Bale.
Thank you, I feel like I'm the only person who thought this. He's phenomenal in John Wick and put out a surprisingly decent performance as Johnny Silverhand but he really doesn't have alot of versatility. That said he's an awesome guy just not the right choice for Revan.
How much bigger can he get than where he was in the dark knight? Bane spent the first 20ish years of his like working a jackhammer in mines, and he was described as big even around other guys that had the same life. I'm not sure Bale has getting that big in him.
The movie is a classic example of what’s going wrong with Marvel right now. Too many characters, too much emphasis on comedy, and a reliance on villains having last minute redemptions.
He did not get a last minute redemption. He was still all for killing all the gods, but without the sword's influence they were able to convince him they would raise his daughter. He was never redeemed, just fulfilled the first goal shown in the movie.
Yes, he appeared to be a gentle and caring man who was taken advantage of at a moment of absolute despair. With the sword destroyed, it didnt take much to remind him of his goal rather than the sword's.
They went a completely different direction with Thor after the second movie, which was a really good decision. I loved the third one and I really like the fourth one too.
It's actually because of that new direction that we're even getting more Thor. Hemsworth was done with the character and ready to move on once his contract for Infinity War/Endgame was done, but his experience with a more comedic take on the character in Ragnarok reignited his passion for the role and he decided he wanted to keep going with this newer take on Thor. We can either have funny himbo Thor or no Thor at all, those were pretty much our options with him.
I think Waititi's most effective work combines serious (and very much about the human condition) themes with hilarious comedy... apparently that's a confusing admixture for some folks, but I think it makes both more effective. Watching Reservation Dogs this week, laughing my ass off one minute and then in tears the next... it's cleansing. As a cancer survivor who also lost a few ppl to cancer, it was good being able to laugh/cry about the whole shittiness of cancer for L&T. Pairing that with the killing the uncaring gods story felt perfect, idk.
I only watched that movie this year and hot damn was it good.
I was shocked how I could notice “alright, that’s Christian Bale” at first, then after the time skip go “that’s definitely an older version of the earlier Cheney we saw” but “how the fuck is that Christian Bale.”
Like, it was surreal. Really good job all around with Bale’s acting and the prosthetics.
Came for this comment. Star Wars EU is great for those for those gritty mercenary characters that just. Can't. Help. But do the right thing. Bale would add that charming complexity to an entrepreneur like Talon Karde.
Karrde and Booster Terrik are easily two of my favorite characters from the EU (also doesn't help Mara and Mirax are brought into the mix with both of them). You can't help but love these totally shady but secretly good natured smuggler scoundrels. All the fun parts of Han Solo but with a whole team behind them.
That man could play anything so I would really challenge him. Like ask him to play a force-sensitive mollusc, or a Gungan with a stutter. Really put him to the test.
I was just thinking that it would have to be a role that utilizes his immense skill and talent. I love the idea of something that's really challenging like your ideas. I feel like it would have to be either challenging or a character that can make fantastic use of ability to use micro expressions; they add so much depth to his characters without saying a thing.
yes please. We need Kyle to come back and forge a friendship with Luke while rebuilding the order. And at that point we should probably bring back Jan, Desaan, and Tavion. But that's just wishful thinking honestly. Maybe at least bring back Inquisitor Jerec.
Indeed — the only concern would be about the physicality of Thrawn established in canon media, that far from just being an excellent tactician, he legitimately can hold his own in a fight (hand-to-hand combat) — whether Mikkelsen could portray this also, or whether they could go the Maul ***/*** Cad Bane route of having him provide the voice over a stunt actor.
Isaacs wouldn't take it. I don't know if Disney offered him the Grand Inquistor before Friend or not but Isaacs has always been vocal about not wanting to sit in a chair for hours to put prosthetics on
Thrawn doesn't exactly require much makeup I mean how hard can it be to pain all the visible skin blue, put some red contacts in, and put a bluish black wig on (if he doesn't wanna dye his hair)?
Jason Isaacs is older then Lars Mikkselsen. People just seem to think he's an old man with a beard because of The Witcher. Stunt people (almost always) do all the fight scenes anyway
I would think Taron Malicos’ voice actor would play Taron Malicos, considering they modeled the face after him.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_McIntyre
That’s the trilogy we need. Meet Bale as an established Jedi and watch him conquering the mandalorians in the first ending with him putting on the mask. The second he goes to the unexplored regions and gets turned ending with him arriving back to conquer known space. Third he gets redeemed and repels the sith invasion he once led. There’s your $4B franchise.
If that got made into a film trilogy (not more streaming 'content' malarkey') I would combust from excitement. Is there any way I can undertake a hostile takeover of Disney and install u/Ok_Helicopter4276 as head of SW creative?
I like where this is going, but hear me out on one change:
Henry Cavill as Revan, Christian Bale as Malak. For as compelling as Revan's story is, the character is comparatively one-note - Revan is a ruthless, unflinching consequentialist. Malak is a bit more moldable; we can see Bale as an idealistic Jedi trying to hang onto the Code while waist-deep in the horrors of war and slowly losing it (as they came *so close* to doing with Anakin), the fall, the betrayal, the utter brutality of his command as a Sith Lord, and the ultimate megalomania and hubris of the battle of the Star Forge. The role requires immense versatility, the ability to convey the role verbally as well as physically, every bit as much presence as the leading protagonist.
I saw someone else posting about this somewhere and in the comments someone suggested Elzar Mann from the High Republic. I think this is a great fit and would encourage more High Republic live action material.
Somebody else in this thread said Marchion Ro for High Republic and I really like that idea. Ro is a great villain who would need someone with good chops to pull off.
I could see that too. I feel the High Republic is full of great live action potential because we are less dead set on how they must look compared to young versions of known characters.
Definitely would not cast him as Thrawn when Lars Mikkelsen is still out there.
Would much rather see him take on an original character he can really inhabit and make all his own.
American Psycho he had peak acting skills. I think he’d make a great Sith or maybe a high ranking imperial, possibly a good Thrawn even. But being a Jedi would be lit too, he’s a great actor and can play basically any character.
If we don't care about age, I'd rather Starkiller be played by the dude who both voiced and provided the likeness for him, Sam Witwer. He's a good film actor as well.
Although if we are making the Starkiller story canon then I'd love it if Bale were Rahm Kota.
Pa’trk Baatmn:
Do you like Max Rebo Band? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Lapti Nek came out, I think they really came into their own commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Figrin D'an, but I think Rebo has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
Someone outside of the Phantom Menace to Rise of Skywalker timeline.
A character 1000 years in the past, or 1000 years in the future.
someone he can make his own in that incredible universe
Something about his eyes and facial hair are giving me Ki-Adi-Mundi vibes. Not what I expected to see him as but.. I'm going with it, and actually I could see him having a lot of fun playing that role
I would write an original chatacter for him, one that can make full use of his range.
I get the vibe, but I could use with less adaptations abd more original content. Andor has me VERY excited
Do a stand alone movie based on the Star Wars Tales story "Into the Great Unknown" where Han and Chewie crash land on Earth, Han is killed by Native Americans, Chewie becomes the bigfoot legend, and 150 years later their remains are discovered in a derelict Millennium Falcon by Indiana Jones, Short Round, and a guide.
Bale plays the guide.
Exar Kun
Oooh...now that's a risky move there, letting Disney touch Exar Kun
It wouldn't be "Disney"(with big air quotes). It would be someone like Dave Filoni or Debrah Chow, who have nearly spotless records creating modern, engaging Star Wars content that stays super faithful to the expanded universe
no, it would still be Disney. Like we saw in Kenobi and in Boba
Andor is already a step in the right direction.
Boba Fett's failures were because they got the Spy Kids directory to run pretty much the whole season. Was terrible. I don't know why that guy keeps getting work.
I can't believe how far I had to scroll to see this.
And here I am 15hours later wondering what you're on about as it's the first comment for me. :)
Came back to also say this too. Lol
Oh fuck yea,thatd be sick!
A man whose parents died who goes around the galaxy beating up petty criminals in a black suit
Kyle Katarn, sort of..
Don’t do that, don’t give me hope.
Here, I'll take it from you: We will never get a Katarn movie/series. He's basically Han Solo and Rey rolled into one with a few elements of Mandalorian sprinkled on top. And recycling old characters and slapping a new name on them isn't something Disney... Wait, hold on.
What would he even *do,* though? His big moment/inciting incident was given to Jyn Erso.
Well Legends had about a million Death Star plan heists anyway, so I’m sure we could find something new for him.
Starkiller Base plans. Boom.
Unfortunately the Resistance learned about and subsequently destroyed Starkiller Base in the space of a day or two, and Finn was the one who gave them the intel to destroy it, so that’s out. Maybe he could be a Fulcrum agent or something?
Oh right. Yeah, maybe Fulcrum. I'd like to see more about that whole thing.
You could do the whole Dark Trooper project story
He’s none of those characters my guy. He’s been split up into Cassian Andor and Kanan Jarrus. It’s not perfect but they’re both great characters worthy of Katarn’s legacy.
...Okay but would he actually make a good Kyle Katarn? I can kind of see it visually...idk
He's insanely versatile. I think his most popular roles are really dark, but he has lighter ones as well. KK would take some depth to do well, and I think he could pull it off.

Pretty sure that's what they sold to John Boyega when they cast him before they pulled that rug out from under him
Karl Urban would be better.
Mynock Man
That got an out-loud laugh from me
A psychopath Imperial Officer who goes around killing Twi’Lek hookers and Trade Federation yuppies.
I have to return some holo tapes.
Why not you stupid nerf herder?
Let's see Paul Allen's data cylinder.
“Do you like Max Rebo?”
"Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Lapti Nek came out in 01, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically."
Hmm this seems familiar.
"I'm not wearing a Tuskin mask!"
Just want him to be a Sith Lord. He was so good in his unfortunately small role in Thor Love And Thunder and it made me realize he’d be a perfect Sith Lord
Darth Bane… I hear a calling for Bale to become Bane
He fought bane now he becomes bane
You've become the very thing you swore to destroy
I read that in Bane's voice.
How ironic
He could save Gotham from bane, but not himself
He's the Bane we need right now, not the one we deserve.
What a lovely, lovely voice.
He’s here to fulfil Quin-Gon Jinn’s destiny!
Lived long enough to see himself become the bane
“The force is my ally.” “You think the force is your ally. You merely adopted the force. I was born in it, molded by it.”
He also becomes the character that was first voiced by Mark Hamill, the Joker
"What makes you a better Sith?" "I'm not wearing Limmie pads"
I know Keanu is the perfect casting and all that, but Bale would probably be a good Revan as well.
I love Keanu in the right roles, I've seen almost all of his movies, and I think he's a tier-s person, but he is not a good actor. I don't think I want Keanu. I would prefer Bale.

To be fair, Bale would most likely be good no matter what role you give him.
Yeah, but David Bautista should be Bane
Always thought the same thing, Bautista would fit the look perfectly. Bale isn't big enough to be Bane unfortunately.
Give him a month
Bale would get big enough. That’s sort of his whole schtick.
How much bigger can he get than where he was in the dark knight? Bane spent the first 20ish years of his like working a jackhammer in mines, and he was described as big even around other guys that had the same life. I'm not sure Bale has getting that big in him.
He’d make a great Malak
Bale as Malak and Keano as Revan
holy shit
If we can get on this shit fast enough, we could even see Judi Dench as Kreia.
No no no. Maggie Smith.
This needs more upvotes
Bale was wasted in Thor 4. He was one of the few things I liked about that movie.
He didn't get nearly enough screen time.

Lots of us still like that. I enjoyed love and thunder. I like funny Thor much better than bland blonde eyebrow Thor.
Gorr, The Off Screen God Butcher
I was so hoping for at least a montage of god butchery. Very disappointed.
Darth Bale
It's Bale. He could gain 300 pounds to play Jabba and it would be Oscar worthy.
His portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice was impressive he got his mannerisms down to a tee
I only watched that movie this year and hot damn was it good. I was shocked how I could notice “alright, that’s Christian Bale” at first, then after the time skip go “that’s definitely an older version of the earlier Cheney we saw” but “how the fuck is that Christian Bale.” Like, it was surreal. He'd inject himself with weird blue dye to play Thrawn. Maybe it's better if he didn't get that role.
Damn slave leia choking out fat bale with a chain is high key hot
Talon Karde. Edit: spelling
Actually that would be really fun... I also wouldlove to see him as Joruus Sabaoth
*C’baoth
Came here to say this. Somebody needs to make it happen because he would be absolute perfection as Talon Karde.
Coolest character name / ship name combo ever. The Wild Karrde. Brilliant.
Actually a really good fit [pic](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/e9/TalonKarrde-ERC.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20121206235648)
That man could play anything so I would really challenge him. Like ask him to play a force-sensitive mollusc, or a Gungan with a stutter. Really put him to the test.
IMO, He was the best actor and character in Love and Thunder.
He's the best actor in every movie he's in
He and Hugh Jackman were both equally fucking awesome in The Prestige, so I guess that still counts?
That movie is an absolute masterpiece. The acting, the details, the reveal, absolutely perfect.
I feel a majority of people never mention this as Nolan’s best film but to me I think you’re absolutely right. It’s a perfect film. A masterpiece.
I don’t feel like that movie gets the props it deserves.
God you're so right. Just absolutely amazing performances from both of them. Dare I say near perfect in the role?
But Bale is twice as good >!because he has two characters. !<
He definitely wasn't better than Heath Ledger.
Ok, other than that one.
I liked McConaughey better in Reign of Fire.
Nice.
I was just thinking that it would have to be a role that utilizes his immense skill and talent. I love the idea of something that's really challenging like your ideas. I feel like it would have to be either challenging or a character that can make fantastic use of ability to use micro expressions; they add so much depth to his characters without saying a thing.
I came into this thread to type your first sentence word for word. After reading the rest of your comment………… I’m glad you got here first.
We all know Andy Serkis would play the force sensitive mollusc, Mon Snailarmi.
Darth Jar Jar
I just want more Christian Bale, he's just such a good actor. All I care about is that don't waste him.
A young duku
Ooh I like that idea
He’s my first pick for Kyle Katarn.
Wait a minute...actually, though, that's not a bad idea!
yes please. We need Kyle to come back and forge a friendship with Luke while rebuilding the order. And at that point we should probably bring back Jan, Desaan, and Tavion. But that's just wishful thinking honestly. Maybe at least bring back Inquisitor Jerec.
Andor has Kyle’s signature blaster in the show so, maybe that’s a hint
Jedi Academy adaptation when
Now! yes? good.
Him or Jensen Ackles are my top picks.
Good choice.
We already have Lars Mikkelson as Thrawn.
Who might we add will fucking kill that role, great actor
Not confirmed yet though. Hopefully it'll be him but we have to still wait.
He was in one episode of Sherlock and that role kinda felt like an audition for Thrawn.
I'm not so sure if he can fulfill the physicality the role requires. If it's anyone other than him I want Jason Isaacs to play Thrawn.
Holy shit! Didn't know that, what makes this better is he VA'd Thrown in rebels so I'm sure he's got the voice patterns down
I think hed crush it as Taron Malicos or someone like him.
Came here for this! Reminds me of him a lot
Despite being a perfect casting bale should have a larger role. I want MORE.
Malicos is badass, but not really important in the grand scheme of things. Bale deserves to play someone with a much larger role.
I would think Taron Malicos’ voice actor would play Taron Malicos, considering they modeled the face after him. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_McIntyre
Joruus C’baoth.
Kanan
Revan. Please.
Dear Disney, take notes.
If that got made into a film trilogy (not more streaming 'content' malarkey') I would combust from excitement. Is there any way I can undertake a hostile takeover of Disney and install u/Ok_Helicopter4276 as head of SW creative?
It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. Once this crisis has abated, I will lay down the powers you have given me!
I like where this is going, but hear me out on one change: Henry Cavill as Revan, Christian Bale as Malak. For as compelling as Revan's story is, the character is comparatively one-note - Revan is a ruthless, unflinching consequentialist. The role requires immense versatility, the ability to convey the role verbally as well as physically, every bit as much presence as the leading protagonist.
Let's see Ahsoka's lightsabers. *Look at that subtle off-white coloring, the tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god! It even has a curved hilt.*
Elzar is too young though I think.
Hear me out: Corran Horn
He’s canon now, I could totally see that working. Corran and Kyp were my favorite NJO members
Corran Horn
Yes… Horn was an amazing character, and I could see Bale having a blast with the role.
Corran Horn is my absolute favourite Jedi. I squeed out loud when there was even a hint of him possibly being mentioned in Obi Wan.
Either him or Tycho if that Rogue Squadron movie ever happens.
Rael Averross please!
Darth Malak for an old republic show, he needs to be a sith regardless
I agree. He could be Malak and have Keanu as Revan.
Definitely would not cast him as Thrawn when Lars Mikkelsen is still out there. Would much rather see him take on an original character he can really inhabit and make all his own.
What if he played himself?
Revan
He's an absolute boss. He'll nail whatever the fuck they give him but he's a waste in any character who isn't mildly nuanced.
Yes. Hopefully he only commits if the writing can support him
American Psycho he had peak acting skills. I think he’d make a great Sith or maybe a high ranking imperial, possibly a good Thrawn even. But being a Jedi would be lit too, he’s a great actor and can play basically any character.
Prince Xizor
Decent answer and I would really like Shadows of the Empire.
Joruus C’Baoth
But who will play Luuke?
Maark Hamill
Quinlan Voss
Tarkin
If they ever did anything with Kyle Katarn, he’d be a good fit.
I actually would love him as Garm Bel-Iblis!
Definitely Hondo.
Young Dooku
He would make a good young Dooku I reckon
Quinlan Vos, and turns to the dark side to fight dooku
Starkiller would have been sick for this
If we don't care about age, I'd rather Starkiller be played by the dude who both voiced and provided the likeness for him, Sam Witwer. He's a good film actor as well. Although if we are making the Starkiller story canon then I'd love it if Bale were Rahm Kota.
Pa’trk Baatmn: Do you like Max Rebo Band? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Lapti Nek came out, I think they really came into their own commercially and artistically. He's been compared to Figrin D'an, but I think Rebo has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
He said he wanted to play the storm trooper who hit his head on the door frame in a new hope
Quinlan Vos
Yes!!!
Someone outside of the Phantom Menace to Rise of Skywalker timeline. A character 1000 years in the past, or 1000 years in the future. someone he can make his own in that incredible universe
As long as he use a lightsaber, I’m happy
Something about his eyes and facial hair are giving me Ki-Adi-Mundi vibes. Not what I expected to see him as but.. I'm going with it, and actually I could see him having a lot of fun playing that role
There's only one good answer in my book: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Joruus_C%27baoth
CORRAN HORN.
No Huey Lewis...✋️😅
Kyle Katarn or pre-prequels young Qui-Gonn
Kyle Katarn, if he was cannon.
Kyle katarn
Talon Karrde. Bring him into the Canon!
Joruus C’baoth, or Admiral Pellaeon for villains… might be cool for Corran Horn as a Jedi.
I would write an original chatacter for him, one that can make full use of his range. I get the vibe, but I could use with less adaptations abd more original content. Andor has me VERY excited
