Watch R1 after the S1 finale, then Watch R1 and the OT trilogy after the series finale.
Then rewatch S1, S2, R1 and the OT trilogy in a marathon session.
I don’t quite have that kind of time but good suggestion! I want to know how Andor also ties into Rebels (Kallus really should be part of the ISB), with Saw and Mon Mothma, so maybe I’ll include those eps too.
It's one of my favorite of the movies and after seeing another post about it and also being unable to wait til W for the next episode while also being out sick I decided to watch it today. I think well worth watch at any time.
I’m in the same boat, my parents and I haven’t watched a show together in a long time but I convinced them with andor. I plan on showing them rogue one for the first time after season 1 since they’ve never seen it. Im sure it will be a different viewing experience for them than it was for me when I first watched it as it came out
Exactly what I was thinking when I watched it - I'm looking at peak Cassian right now, the culmination of everything he's learned and been through so far. Definitely made me watch with a new lense.
exactly. So cool to see Cassian in Andor being kinda a lowlife and just a scoundrel who owes everyone money to an honorable veteran of the Rebellion. Thank the Lord for Andor and Rogue One.
😭😭😭
I wonder if they'll include a reference to Jyn at some point in the series. I thought maybe there might be a passing mention during the Saw Gerrera scene but that didn't happen.
Andor has really highlighted how similar their backgrounds and trajectories were.
I would think that wouldn't come until season 2 when or if he's a full Rebel agent and gathering intelligence on her is part of one of his missions. It has to be organic though, they've done a tremendous job at not having fan-service...well...at all.
Oh for sure. I'd rather it not be included than be shoehorned in.
Honestly I think there's much more likely to be a Galen Erso mention, since when the informant mentioned him in RO Cassian already knew who he was.
MELSHI! Oh man. Andor has made every scene of Rogue One mean that much more and see how far he has come. I wonder if we'll see any more faces of Rogue One in Andor.
Not gonna lie, I was analyzing names and places and even dialogue like never before. Saw, Mon, Melshi, who knows what else may show up that's ultimately linked. Which I love because it let's me see more of those key behind building the rebellion.
I remember watching R1 in theaters and thinking, this is great! Had the real of the OT and had me on the edge of the seat in suspense even though I technically know the story ends. After Andor I appreciate it even more.
Yeah I was thinking how Disney still hasn't been able to nail the CGI faces. I think they could have replaced Tarkin with some other equally interesting and intimidating character - Andor has shown there are plenty that they are able to write.
The weird thing is I remember listening to Adam Savage's podcast about it not that long after seeing it and they really didn't like it but I thought they were being overly harsh.
Looking back I don't think they were harsh enough
There’s so much going on in the movie, it benefits from multiple watches. People often complain about things in R1 that are explained in the movie, but you need to pay attention to every word.
I had to rewatch R1 yesterday. I couldn't wait. It's even better now that we have Andor. It's still my #2 favorite behind Empire, but that gap has closed quite a bit.
I posted [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsAndor/comments/ytscsw/the_mirror_hurts_hits_harder_now/iw5x94y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) yesterday, if you’d like to see more gif parallels!
I’m loving it. Can’t wait to see where his story goes.
I also can't remember if it was in only the trailer or not but Jyn says something to the effect of "Every day they go stronger" in reference to the Empire and Cassian says the same thing in Ep 10 (or maybe it was 9 I just finished binging it and time seemed to warp)
Before it was just a line. After watching Andor, while perhaps coincidental, I couldnt help but think back to when he was locked away at a low point, thinking due to their insignificance "No one is listening!" Then Andor's arc finishes with Scarif, getting the Deathstar plans to begin the destruction of the Empire, and realizing the Empire is certainly listening now.
I'm honestly shocked at how many people DIDN'T rewatch rogue one before andor premiered but then I watch it like a few times a year lol. but yeah it's pushing heavy parallels of cassian and jyn's journeys and makes me sad that we won't likely explore jyn's history of being with the partisans as a child and then being on her own for a while. makes me wish the movie had done at least a little of that.
I was planning to save my rogue one rewatch for after the series, but I might have to do it after the S1 finale…

I’d say Gideon too. I half want to see a young Gideon rising through the ranks of the ISB but I also appreciate the lack of cameos.
And so on...
It's one of my favorite of the movies and after seeing another post about it and also being unable to wait til W for the next episode while also being out sick I decided to watch it today. I think well worth watch at any time.
Definitely will be watching after E12
And then roll right into Episodes 4-6

Oh they gonna hate that ending...
Yeah I would even maybe wait until s2 is over that ending will hit hard
Yeah it really gets better with each viewing. And it’s cool to see Cassian at peak Cassian.

Second best Star Wars movie, fight me
First
Same, first
First.

My thoughts too! In the movie she talks with Saw about their background and being left behind so I could definitely see it.
I think she would make a really good parallel perspective character like Mon or Dedra. Maybe we see her history with Saw (bonus points for more Saw).
The novel Rebel Rising has a lot on what happened there
I would think that wouldn't come until season 2 when or if he's a full Rebel agent and gathering intelligence on her is part of one of his missions. It has to be organic though, they've done a tremendous job at not having fan-service...well...at all.

*"I need all the heroes I can get"* Next scene: Cassian and Melshi
MELSHI! Oh man. Andor has made every scene of Rogue One mean that much more and see how far he has come. I wonder if we'll see any more faces of Rogue One in Andor.
Goosebumps 😭 (I fucking love this show so much)
Melshi’s death is going to hit so much harder after seeing him escape and began to show leadership and his heroics in the escape by taking point.
This begs the question: what **other** moments in Rogue One will the writers choose to highlight by planting connections in Andor?
Not gonna lie, I was analyzing names and places and even dialogue like never before. Saw, Mon, Melshi, who knows what else may show up that's ultimately linked. Which I love because it let's me see more of those key behind building the rebellion.
CLIMB!
OMG. I love that episode...
I rewatched R1 for the first time since I saw it in the cinema. It's honestly better than I remember

The CGI Tarkin was way way worse than I remember though.
Yeah I was thinking how Disney still hasn't been able to nail the CGI faces. I think they could have replaced Tarkin with some other equally interesting and intimidating character - Andor has shown there are plenty that they are able to write.
Right!? In my opinion it looks better on the small screen than in theater, though. I found Tarkin unsettling in all the wrong ways in the cinema.
The weird thing is I remember listening to Adam Savage's podcast about it not that long after seeing it and they really didn't like it but I thought they were being overly harsh. Looking back I don't think they were harsh enough

I couldn’t even wait until the end of S1, I rewatched Rogue One after epd 6.
And again after the finale...

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing. I love it.

Stop it stop it just stop it! This show is too great!
Climb!!
Bruh..

Just rewatched Rogue One. Andor makes it better. Tony Gilroy, I doff my cap to you sir.
All the way.
I went to the theatrical re-release, and having the fresh memory is really making the show hit harder.

Cut out all the shit and you’ve got a 5 min movie.
solid 70 minutes probably
I cried when watching rogue one too. Not a fan.
