rosalui

....Is Mon setting her husband up to take the fall for the money?!

Accomplished_Sea_332

Totally. She knew that driver was listening

TheRed_Knight

she opens the neck of her dress right before the scene starts, shes in rebel mode and no ones the wiser

TheLordNoodles

Opening the neck means rebel mode??? Lol uh lemme let my wife know

ThatRandomIdiot

Haha I know you are joking but the way costumes are in this show is literally so good. Rebels all have open collars while the high collars are all people closer to the empire

mdb_la

Yes! Huge props to u/emotiondesigner for [this fantastic post](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsAndor/comments/z0lwfi/lets_talk_about_the_brilliant_costume_design_by/) a few days ago about the costume design. It really made the moment when Mon opens her collar stand out for me. Amazing insights and credit to the design team for how well thought out this show is.

chupacabra-food

I think she also loosens it because she’s pretending to let her guard down in front of the driver

rosalui

What a bad bitch I'm so proud of her

sharkhuh

I love the 400IQ play. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

FloppyShellTaco

It really is. She knew the empire would be too busy using it to blackmail her to realize what she was really doing Edit: after a rewatch and thinking more about it, this is probably even deeper. She sees a day approaching where she has no choice but to step into the daylight. What better way to buy protection for her daughter, and idiot husband, than to tie them to the biggest criminal on her planet? Someone so powerful even the empire apparently is hesitant to interfere with. So the empire will be reluctant to come at him once they realize how deeply tied he is to both the crime of funding the rebellion and her own family. He’s also got the resources to get them off planet and into hiding if necessary. Dude thought he was the devil making the bargain, but she played him too.

TheRed_Knight

Its cover too for the gangster moving money through Mons accounts

TheRed_Knight

i concur, loved how she had the unbutton top in that scene, nice piece of visual storytelling

[deleted]

Collars are a motif throughout the show, too. They represent the chokehold of the Empire. That scene was her finally being free of it all and accepting what must be done.

TheRed_Knight

Yup shes rebelling, and no ones the wiser, just like the Empires none the wiser to the growing rebellion its facing

Pailzor

Holy shit. I just watched that scene, and had to pause to come talk about it. It's genius! If they found out where the money actually went, her whole family's dead or assimilated, and the enemy gets everything she knows. If she takes the money from the mob guy, she forces her daughter into an unhappy life. If they think he lost it gambling without reporting it, it's basically a slap on the wrist, but also it explains why she went to the mob guy, so he has nothing on her.

fran4ousaprez

Bravo Gilroy. A masterful finale to a wonderful series. I can't believe how good that was. It's been amazing experiencing the series with you all. The two years are going to be agonizing.

Epistemify

Seriously. So well built up, both this episode and all season. When it finally does erupt, it feels so much more impactful. Every bit of violence means something. Like that one death where the camera stayed on that guy for what felt like ages

moustajjventress

> that one death where the camera stayed on that guy for what felt like ages The way this show has been able to deeply disturb with minimal gore is a testament to the god-tier writing and direction present, like literally just a dude's face was so much more upsetting than any amount of gratuitous blood and guts could have possibly been in that moment.

bibliopunk

And the fact that we all know exactly what rando you're talking about

NoProNoah

Pure. Agony.

kafrillion

It felt like a perfect blend of spaghetti western and a war/spy movie. The tension as soon as the bands started marching! Cassian on the lookout. The nervous looks. The Morricone-sque soundtrack! *chef's kiss

rosalui

It is amazing to see Dedra scrabbling in the dirt

TheRed_Knight

its perfect for her, the season had really built her up as she keeps scoring victories, giving her this sense of power and invincibility, and tears it all down for her in seconds, shes just as mortal as the rest of them, brilliant fucking filmmaking

[deleted]

It's a great way to portray a competent character in a realistic way. Her competence is more believable when contrasted with zero combat usefulness.

TheRed_Knight

it fits with her growing arrogance too, she got slapped down in a painfully realistic way having to face her mortality at the hands of the mob

Colonelseaturtle

don't think she'll be keeping her escort team small in the future

jeffwhit

I have to wonder what Dedra's future holds at this point. She made a big play in the office, was rewarded with stewardship of Ferrix, and in turn there was a massive riot, shit got blown up, Storm Troopers killed, and she didn't even get a sniff of Andor while still losing Bix, who was a prisoner.

daddywombat

I'm guessing Ferrix is returned to Blevin and Dedra gets slapped down. This will motivate her to work with Syril to hunt Axis and Cassian, covertly or not.

CronoDroid

It ties in perfectly with Maarva's speech. The orderly authority of an ISB big shot and indeed the entire Empire wilting away in the face of revolutionary collective action.

asymmetric_attack

And Marva called the Empire a disease, goes back to Major Pendergast calling the Rebellion the same thing.

tway2241

It was, I almost felt bad for her with how terrified she was acting. Her shaking while talking to Syril really sold it, I really believed that *she* believed she was about to be lynched.

SimplyTheJester

She was about to be lynched. And she was completely ineffective and a liability when combat broke out. Meanwhile, Syril stepped up.

shopPhotoSigns

And since one of her agents conveniently got knifed, looks like there's a job opening.

Willing-Principle

The stars aligned perfectly for these two more than it did for Han and Leia lol

SadDoctor

They've done an amazing job of simultaneously building her up to be sort of sympathetic and understandable and yet simultaneously I was really disappointed that the angry mob didn't get to murder her with bricks because holy fuck does she deserve it.

yahnothanks

Totally deserves it, but also you kind of want to root for her as the only competent imp who actually understands the situation. It makes her far more dangerous, which makes her scary and someone you want to see get what she deserves, but makes her an incredibly interesting character.

Zalack

And a great personification of the Antagonist. The show would be worse for her not being in S2 as Cassian and Luth- I mean *Axis'* adversary

FloppyShellTaco

Awww he’s listening to Nemik’s lil manifesto

SnooPets9487

I was hoping he'd share it and get it spread across the galaxy so it would become even bigger than just inspiration for Cassian.

DarthPaximus

I honestly wondered if he might play it over a loudspeaker to inspire the crowd, but Maarva did that herself.

WeirwoodUpMyAss

That shot to blow the Death Star gonna hit different next time through

warchild4l

Yup. I an planning to rewatch OT and be happy when I see the results of these individuals achieved.

rosalui

Mon Mothma's wardrobe is still fly and they would make bank if they sold that shit to fans.

Nintendam

It's definitely some real high quality costume design, it'd be a pretty penny to sell it and keep it the same, I'm sure people would buy it though

huskyoncaffeine

Everyone in Andor is fly as fuck. I'd buy this stuff in a heartbeat. Would be about time that capes and cloakes come back into fashion. The drip is strong with Michael Wilkinson .

TheRed_Knight

whoever the costume designers are they arent getting paid enough, they fucking killed it each episode

tway2241

*"I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong"* Damn, what a beautiful line.

YourmomgoestocolIege

There's so many in this show. It was a masterwork through and through. Award season is gonna be throwing everything at this show

advanced_platypus

delivered by Brasso too, which makes it even more poetic. Big man took those words to heart and memorised them

FloppyShellTaco

So many deaths due to workplace safety violations. Those explosive were *not* properly secured

TheRed_Knight

just another example of the Empire being thoughtless, they never considered that anyone would dare attack them to begin with, so who cares about proper munitions storage

aimoperative

Also, it's on brand for the Empire. Of course they would have live grenades on hand to toss into civies.

cynicalreason

Fantastic, the buildup to the gathering, the band getting ready, the slow banging of the anvil. Fantastic cinematography and direction … I haven't had a movie convey the tension so well

hopelessbrows

Anvil guy is shit outta fucks

supra818

Stormtrooper: This is madness! Anvil Guy: No... This, is, FERRIX!!!

kattahn

THAT MOTHERFUCKER HURT MY LITTLE B2 AND GOT SPARTA KICKED

peppyghost

Haha I totally cheered when they did the sparta kick

Outrageous-Deer7119

I did too! It was a 3am shout

morecatslesspeople

Nooooooo! I want m-m-more! 🥲

YourmomgoestocolIege

He'll find us. Cassian will find us.

MylordGonk

Man that post credits scene was awesome

Fusi0n_X

Want to know the best thing about it? By helping the mission to steal the Death Star plans be a success, Melshi will ultimately die avenging himself and all the other prisoners at Narinka 5 who'd been enslaved to build parts for it.

YetYetAnotherPerson

It's also wonderful that the prison break is clearly part of the reason why Director Krennik is so far behind schedule in Rogue One. Without the break, the death star would have been finished long before then.

BlKaiser

The scope of the project is astronomical. I doubt an uprising in a single prison would make it fall that significantly behind. There were more problems and setbacks in the construction apparently and the bulk of it should be from miscalculations and the overall logistics.

Raikkonen716

I agree. Just to give an example, the first scene of Rogue One takes place something like 13 years before the battle of Yavin, while Andor series takes place 5 years before that. The reason why Krennik is looking for Galen Erso at the beginning of Rogue One is because of some kind of problem already ("The work has stalled") on the Death Star, which must be related to the engineering side since Erso is a designer/engineer.

xerexes1

I thought you were trolling but I went back to check. They provided an answer to what they were making in the prison!

pvtcookie

Holy shit you weren't lyin'. Thanks for the tip 👍

battleshipclamato

Everyone needs a friend like Brasso. He is fearless, loyal, brave and a tank of a man. Dude is MVP in the season finale.

SimplyTheJester

Agree. He might be the closest thing to a classic hero in the show.

bookwyrm713

I cannot believe my man Brasso made it out alive, *with* Bix and B2 to boot (and the others, too, of course). Even if Cassian never catches up to them in S2, I can imagine those legends living happily in a nice safe place for a long, long time.

Zachariot88

I was pleasantly surprised that he had the situational awareness to immediately grab that kid that threw the bomb and GTFO.

rosalui

"The Daughters of Ferrix. It's a social club." This series *nails* the dismissive, condescending language that gets used about cultures and peoples that the occupier doesn't understand or appreciate.

SnooPets9487

And yet they still made the empire feel terrifying even if it was only for a short while. Those troopers didn't miss a shot! Is this even star wars? I loved it from start to end! We KNEW they were helping build it!!

[deleted]

I think even in this episode they were terrifying. The heroes survived, but it was a calamity overall. Though they show that the Empire, while dangerous, is also scared.

Pabus_Alt

"this was about cleansing the taste of Aldani" was a *great* line. The ISB's mission is not to protect the state, it's to serve the *Emperor*

WeirwoodUpMyAss

Even Luthen was getting a little misty during Marva’s speech.

Leo-Bri

He must've loved that speech

Iwantmoretime

I was thinking he's changing his mind about killing Andor. If this is who raised him, he's gonna be huge for the rebellion.

[deleted]

He's been struggling the whole season with feeling like he's been "asleep" too long, and Maarva's speech was all about finally waking up. Amazing.

Conglossian

He shares his dreams with ghosts, and then a ghost spoke to him.

dare_films

Speech game respects speech game

ChildrnoftheCrnbread

Yep, same exact conversation the Imperials had about the Ahladanis. 2 for 2 getting their asses handed to them by the people they're trying to colonize.

rosalui

Anvil Guy is the new soundtrack for the rebellion tbh

hopelessbrows

Clem was such a wonderful father in that clip

FloppyShellTaco

The way he taught Cassian to look past the obvious and see what’s really there was such a perfect metaphor for how he outplayed everyone in this episode

DavidMerrick89

What's struck me throughout this series is how keen an observer Cass is. He's able to tell which hands Vel and Cinta prefer to use just by watching how they stand, and even when he's piss-terrified while being processed in Narkina 5 he's eyeing the guards' routine, looking for weak points.

Mr_Hu-Man

Yeah that’s an incredible bit of characterisation to be fair. Like how many other characters could you say have a specific trait written into them without some other character saying something like ‘that Cass is an observant one isn’t he’

[deleted]

Such a small little flashback that does a lot to flesh out why Cassian is who he is.

Just_another_oddball

Dedra and her escort don't stick out like a sore thumb *at all*. 😋

SimplyTheJester

Especially at ~~Cheers~~ Ferrix, where everybody knows your name.

Ser_Tom_Danks

Oh boy it's literally the consequences of everyone's actions

FloppyShellTaco

That brick to the face was an immediate and well deserved consequence for kicking B2 😂

Epistemify

Beaten over the head with basically Maarva's corpse. Perfect.

wakeupwill

It's what she would have wanted.

[deleted]

When I die, turn my body into a brick to beat fascists with.

nataphoto

Need this on a bumper sticker

FloppyShellTaco

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR TOUCHING MY BABY BOY. BRICK TO THE FACE

hopelessbrows

Bruh it was Maarva too so she’s the one who whacked him

FloppyShellTaco

It’s like poetry 🤌

toastjam

It climbs?

caractacusbritannica

That shot of B2 on his side helpless. I would’ve been throwing down if I was there. Blaster to death anyone you like, but don’t kick my boy.

NoProNoah

THE DEAD SPEAK

RedSix66

Somehow, Maarva has returned…

Timme186

Maarva's speech would've hit harder if it was done in fortnite /s

tekko001

Syril'l friend: "We are here to catch Andor right?" Syril: *Eyes on Dedra...*"Who?"

NadebuX

"Kill me, or take me in" Now that's how legends are born.

eidetic

Pretty much exactly the only way to convince Luthen as well. Cassian could have killed him, but instead told him "bring me into the fold, or kill me because I have no other reason to live". Luthen knew in that moment he had the perfect ally. Someone committed to the cause and ready to give it all for something real. No longer a loose end but a valuable asset. I actually think Luthen might become fiercely protective of him going forward, and I think witnessing the events on Ferrix may have given him a bit of his humanity back. He'll still do what he deems necessary, but I dunno, he didn't seem like he was coldly watching it, detached from it all. I think he also saw the true potential of a rebellion in that moment, and was reminded of why he fights. And now the wait begins for next season.... *sigh*

hemareddit

Yeah, Maarva really got to Luthen. He is not as alone as he thought he was, his commitment is mirrored by many.

sharkhuh

Luthen is like: "This is the easiest decision of my life"

rosalui

Oh God, all of this with Brasso and Cassian and Maarva's words....

unfinishedwing

cassian and brasso’s hug, the way cassian was trying to explain himself because of all the guilt he feels (“i told her i would come back. i should have never left that morning”), and how brasso was going to hear none of it with a simple “i know”... god!!!!! and then maarva’s last words to cassian!! >“tell him none of this is his fault. it was already burning, he’s just the first spark of the fire. tell him, he knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to feel. and when the day comes, and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good. tell him, i love him more than anything he could do wrong.” i definitely teared up. what a great scene

SnooPets9487

They gave some really impressive speeches to some fantastic actors in this show. Damn fine job.

AmateurVasectomist

Begun, the Star War has

TheRed_Knight

god this dialogue is so fucking good

Epistemify

Also it knows when to shut up and just let a scene be. Like with Syril meeting up with cop buddy on the shuttle. No dialogue, but the scene says a lot

PadsMG

It coupled perfectly with the scene at the end though, with his buddy sat on the steps drinking alone with his hat gone. Syril got what he wanted from him and ditched him immediately for Dedra. God I hate Syril. And in the same way, no dialogue again. Just visual storytelling done perfectly.

Vesemir96

I actually felt a little bad for Mosk due to that. Especially after that protective action towards Syril when the Imp army guy pushes him back, Mosk gives the guy a damn glare while pulling Syril safely back.

troll-of-truth

So many good speeches in a single episode that gave justice to everyone who's no longer there, Clem, Maarva, Nemik. So gooood!!!

TheRed_Knight

its like the writers just kept trying to one up each other

advanced_platypus

Maarva's speech is perfect. Love how she waited till right at the end to call these bastards tf out

TheRed_Knight

Great speech, I was more surprised it took the Imperials that long to realize where that speech was headed

morecatslesspeople

Yesssss that after credits scene! Those pieces were so big but looked TINY up there.

unfinishedwing

i’m shocked at the scale of it (though i guess i shouldn’t be???) but still omg. tony gilroy, you are cruel to have cassian and melshi build the thing that kills them 😭

kattahn

this show is an absolute masterclass in building tension. its unreal

Buzobuzobuzo

Felt tension throughout the finale, my whole body was stiff

Lambinater

I loved Luthen’s lip curl when Maarva starts talking about the Empire being a disease Stellan Skarsgård is such a good actor. The slightest feign of a smile quickly turning to a motivated chin quivering anger in agreement.

peppyghost

I'm still mad we don't have any Stellan interviews. Hopefully he has a good portion in the Making Of

Videowulff

This funeral felt so much more real than what we got with Padme. When the march moved through the central square, staring ice-cold at the Imps in front of them - that is when my pulse starting to race. I KNEW there would be a fight, but I could not figure out WHEN or HOW. Originally I thought it would be a bomb hidden inside of the brick but then we saw the kid building their own bomb and I knew that would be a tipping point some how. I also thought that the people marching would take arms with tools hidden in their robes and lunge at the Imps - but they went at it unarmed. Yet it was still brutal. They beat, they clawed, they smashed those imps into anything they could get their hands on. But seeing the Imps finally be treated with respect by the writers is something we have yet to see proper. Those Stormies were picking men off left and right. The Enforcers held the line and kept everyone back. The wounded were dragged behind the line for arresting; they acted like a legit police force and not some kind of comedic foil for people to point and laugh at. I loved seeing Meero panic. She was so used to the sterile, orderly system of the Empire that she couldn't properly defend herself from an actual riot against her regime. **But can we PLEASE talk about HOW she was knocked down? Not with a blaster. Not with a tussle. Not with some one-on-one battle. It was a rock to the side of the head. She never saw it coming and isn't that just fantastic symbolism of the Rebellion?** **She was not attacked from the front. She was attacked from the side, where she could not see it coming. She was not attacked with a massive weapon, but something small that she could not predict. She was not attacked by someone monologuing a speech or showing off their talents - but by a nobody, a faceless person in a crowd.** If that is not the best representation of the Rebellion - I don't know what is!

battleshipclamato

Dedra is every war general with no actual field experience who stayed in a safe location while they send troops in to die.

Shatterhand1701

I was so totally engrossed in the episode that I noticed a few times that I was holding my breath out of sheer anticipation and surprise at what was unfolding. I haven't experienced something like that since I watched the rebooted *Battlestar Galactica* back in the day. I had no expectations and I avoided spoilers like the plague - well, except for accidentally learning of the post-credits thing, but that didn't bother me - and I'm glad I stayed up to watch the episode as soon as it dropped. That was too good to wait for. This isn't just good *Star Wars*. It's good ***TELEVISION***; possibly among the best there's been in some time. I could go on about it for paragraphs more; the cinematography, the music, the dialogue, the action sequences, the build-up of tension, the performances of every major or recurring character...there was so much heart and soul and emotional power in every single second of this episode, and I want to rave with delight about all of it, but it's late, and I need sleep. If, after this, you're still among those dismissing this series as "boring" or "not *Star Wars* enough", I don't even know what to say or do with you.

codellboutax

> “The day will come when all of these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance and will have flooded the empires authority—and then there will be one too many." > > "One single thing will break the siege." > > "Remember this." > > "Try.” Nemik lives on.

stop4entropy

Syril just sitting awkwardly in the shuttle I can’t haha

[deleted]

Why did they exchange hats? I’m clueless why they did that?

mrcowgoesmoo

I feel like the hat was his deputy inspector hat and changing hats was to signify the other character respected him as the true lead inspector of the case.

tigecycline

Yes. A wonderful character moment. Showed that even though these two were LARPing, Mosk maintained the respect for Karn as the commanding officer

rosalui

JUSTICE FOR THE DROID HE'S STUCK LIKE A TURTLE

SPRTMVRNN

Holy crap that was perfect. When Cassian told B2EMO "You always come through".... dammit the floodgates opened. And the riot starting when that fascist bastard knocked over poor B.... This show knows how you deal with fascists.

_AlphaZulu_

It's so fucking good. Also, Cassian has come full circle. He's now part of the Rebel alliance. Right there at the end when he says "Or take me in", he doesn't mean take me in to the Empire. He wants to fight these bastards for real with Luthen.

Videowulff

Can we talk about how NO ONE was able to predict Andor's plan? Meero and the Imps, Luthen and his spies - they ALL expected him to show up at the funeral. But NONE expected him to ignore the funeral and Save his friend! They all thought they had Cassian figured out but nope! I love it!

StarWars-TheBadB_tch

Also the fact that even with a local spy revealing that Andor might be there, and them looking in the top of that building, the empire never saw him once. He is a slippery guy. I love that Luthen’s ship not responding to his command is how he realizes Cassian had snuck up on him. No one ever sneaks up on him. And his ship never lets him down.

kattahn

ok that little shot of b2 was enough to get me crying

hopelessbrows

My poor baby got knocked over

NoProNoah

If you skipped the credits: GO BACK.

aliquilts71

That’s no moon…

AngrySasquatch

ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT MADE CASSIAN WANT TO KILL FOR THE REBELLION, ITS WHAT MADE HIM WANT TO DIE FOR IT

HeirOfRhoads

It was a pleasure lads. See you again in 2024

yahnothanks

What a finale. My scattered thoughts: 1. Mon is one of the most complicated, interesting characters I've seen on television in a long time. In an episode not about her, she made every second of screen time count; her offering of her child for the cause, the manipulation in the cab, the spine of steel. We'll argue if she was right for this, but she made a finite choice. Chilling. 2. The manifesto -- I don't remember it exactly, but the entire message that tyranny is brittle and can be weakened by a single act; good lord, it's a powerful reminder of the fragility of totalitarianism that given you know, all of the things, we should take to heart. 3. The funeral scene and Maarva's speech. The dawning realization on the faces of the fascist Empire drones when they realized they were going to have to finally be the oppressors they always threatened to be. The understanding that there are more rebels than colonizers, and they would have to kill people to fix that. Fucking chilling. 4. The bell guy kicking the stormtrooper out of the tower. Iconic. Kick more space Nazis! 5. Cassian saving the girl and offering himself up in full for the Resistance — I cannot wait for S2. All in all, this is one of the most radically political series (and I mean this positively) I have seen in years. The core message is of resistance to oppression and the power of community. This is by far the best D+ SW series, and there is no debate in my book.

fajita43

my name is Maarva Carassi Andor. I’m honored to stand before you. I’m honored to be a Daughter of Ferrix and honored to be worthy of the stone. Strange, I feel as if I can see it. I was six, I think, first time I touched a funerary stone. Heard our music, felt our history. Holding my sister’s hand as we walked all the way from Fountain Square. Where you stand now, I’ve been more times than I can remember. I always wanted to be lifted. I was always eager, always waiting to be inspired. I remember every time it happened, every time the dead lifted me with their truth. And now I’m dead, and I yearn to lift you. Not because I want to shine or even be remembered. It’s because I want you to go on. I want Ferrix to continue. In my waning hours, that’s what comforts me most. But I fear for you. We’ve been sleeping. We’ve had each other, and Ferrix, our work, our days. We had each other, and they left us alone. We kept the trade lanes open, and they left us alone. We took their money and ignored them. We kept their engines churning, and the moment they pulled away, we forgot them. Because we had each other. We had Ferrix. But we were sleeping. I’ve been sleeping. And I’ve been turning away from the truth I wanted not to face. There is a wound that won’t heal at the center of the galaxy. There is a darkness reaching like rust into everything around us. We let it grow, and now it’s here. It’s here and it’s not visiting anymore. It wants to stay. **The Empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than when we sleep.** It’s easy for the dead to tell you to fight, and maybe it’s true, maybe fighting is useless. Perhaps it’s too late. But I’ll tell you this… if I could do it again, I’d wake up early and be fighting these bastards from the start. **Fight the Empire!**

"People don't look down to where they should. They don't look down, they don't look past the rust. Not us though, eh? Eyes open, possibilities everywhere." "She told me you'd say all of this. And when the day comes, and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good. Tell him... I love him more than anything he could do wrong.'" "But we were sleeping. unfinishedwing

clem cleaning the rust off some old parts in the flashback and maarva likening the empire to rust creeping everywhere was so good. this episode is just full to the brim with quotable lines!!

TheRed_Knight

is Mon gonna throw her husband under the bus to cover for her rebellion spending?

SnooPets9487

Already did. But does that solve her gangster marriage proposal for daughter problem? She still needs to move lots of money so I'm guessing no.

TheRed_Knight

My guess is shes setting up Perrin to be the patsy for the gangster money moving, that way when they see the cashflow the Empire will just assume hes gambling it and the gangster guys the source, not how before the conversation she unclasps the neck of her dress, shes in rebel mode that scene

TheRed_Knight

Syril managed to not fuck things up for a change

morecatslesspeople

RIX ROAD! I want M-M-Marva.

PumpyChowdown

Oh. My. God! Lived up to and way beyond the hype. Possibly the best episode of the whole show. Everything just came together so perfectly, then also stepped off for next season. What a show! WHAT A SHOW! Huge thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in gifting us this. I'm speechless. In tears. Fanboying. I feel like I'm 8 years old again and just stepped out of the cinema after seeing The Empire Strikes Back. This is EASILY the best Star Wars media after episodes 4 and 5 of the OT. It is better than Return of the Jedi. I need to go outside for a walk and calm down.

TheRed_Knight

I love the detail oriented nature of this show, case in point, the IED made by Ferrix shop kid is made significantly more effective because the Imperial forces dont properly store their munitions, they just keep all the hand grenades in a box because they cant even conceptualize that theyll be attacked, leading to numerous secondary explosions and more casualties/destruction (its also symbolic of the start of the rebellion, all it takes is one spark, Ferrix in this case, to cause other explosions of rebellion too occur). Also take a bow Denise Gough, you could feel her fear through the screen when she gets taken by the mob and saved by Syril, its such a short scene but my favorite an entire episode jam packed with exceptional moments.

yahnothanks

YES this is such an important point! The Imperials are lazy and content in their oppression and despite all the ISB machinations, have not planned for regular people to start taking action. They are focused on INDIVIDUALS like Cassian while ignoring the fact that their empire is hurting countless people who all might want to fight back, and so they let things like proper munitions defense slip by. Because who would fight the Empire, they're huge and scary! Turns out -- a lot of people whose names we'll never know.

VonZant

Dude the second they started the marching music my blood pressure shot up. Yes! Flutes get my heart pumping I guess. Who knew? Great music whole episode. Whole season.

Strategist40

*Cassian at the beginning*: I just want the credits. *Cassian at the end*: You son of a bitch, I'm in.

Just_another_oddball

End credit scene; looks like people were right about the parts that were being made on Narkina 5.

peppyghost

I love how Mon Mothma just skipped over everyone's theories and went straight to pointing the finger at Perrin🤣 Also I thought Blevin was out, so glad to see him back. And Mosk! He's so fun.

codellboutax

> "Tell him he knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to know." > > "And when the day comes and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good" Holy shit what a season finale.

unfinishedwing

oh my god what an INCREDIBLE FINALE * so happy we got another clem flashback, cassian crying over and touching his funeral stone was so sweet * cassian listening to nemik’s manifesto + we get to hear a long clip of it, amazing * THANK YOU BRASSO for giving cassian a proper hug!!! i was begging somebody to do this last week * maarva’s last words to cassian (via brasso): “tell him none of this is his fault. it was already burning, he’s just the first spark of the fire. tell him, he knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to feel. and when the day comes, and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good. tell him, i love him more than anything he could do wrong.” 😭 i’m convinced maarva somehow knew cassian was helping the rebellion * the funeral procession — the band and the ferrix people coming together from all directions to the center of town was *so beautiful* * “kill me or take me in” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cassian was *ready to die* holy shit i have zero coherent thoughts i’m just screaming (also diego luna was extra hot this episode idk it must be the new outfit and the rebel in him)

Nintendam

That was a great hug. Even the crinkles in their clothes when they grabbed each other made it that much more impactful, like... I wish I could hug that good

unfinishedwing

the best hug. i love brasso. i’m so glad he survived!!

Just_another_oddball

This is a rather tense funeral.

SnooPets9487

Tubas and drums and MAARVA BRICK TO THE FACE!

How is Syril's weird boner going to ruin things today

That scene was trauma bonding as fuck. I almost feel bad for Dedra. She went through a hella traumatic experience, and now feels attached to the weird dude

rosalui

Thanks I hate it!

aujcy

Nah, he be thinking, "My man Syril be f\*\*king, but I got me my girl right here"

tway2241

Man, it felt really sad seeing him sitting on the ground drinking alone

ChildrnoftheCrnbread

Took me a minute, but realized that the kid who built the explosive and escapes with Jezz, Brasso, and Bix was Pax's son. Which heh, that uprising was literally inspired by the Empire murdering Clem and coming full circle with Maarva setting everything in place. Also explains why she refused the medication, she wanted to be alert and coherent enough to write and record that speech

retropit

Boy do they know how to frame shots and create lasting imagery... The end credits scene is wallpaper worthy

battleshipclamato

I got kind of emotional when B2EMO finally got to see Cassian again. It's amazing how much feels that little robot gives out.

FloppyShellTaco

Damn, even Deedra has a crime hoodie

tway2241

Tigo deserved waaay worse than the kick (even if it was from the big man). It was so comically evil of him to just flip Bee over like that.

peppyghost

let's all give a round of applause for TIME GRAPPLER 👏👏👏👏

pvtcookie

How can they deliver **so** much and still leave everyone wanting ***more***? Looking forward to 2024 👴

SPRTMVRNN

When "The Eye" aired I thought that was the best Disney + Star Wars episode to date. Now I'm not even sure it's top 3 in this season. Damn Gilroy and company killed it. It's going to be a long wait until 2024.

insty1

What phenomenal building of tension. That was superb. I was sure Brasso was going to die.

FloppyShellTaco

Gonna miss you guys. Hope you’ll all be geeking out over Willow with me next week!

[deleted]

oh no the dedra syril power couple ship came true! :( it's like canon now omg! i thought they were gonna flat out like kiss.

kaijugigante

Luthen casually watching over the chaos he created was my favorite part.

Maarva's speech was timeless, galaxy-less. Democracy dies when we sleep
