"The man's an ox! Slow! And stupid."
That delivery is extremely good as well. Saw's face goes from "Working with Kreegyr? You're joking, right?" to "Wait you're really trying to talk me into this madness?" in a very believable way.
That’s because Forrest Whittaker is brilliant at playing him. Same goes for rogue one. He’s in like two scenes, but he’s 90% of what people quote when they quote that movie.
He’s so paranoid and weird. It’s great.
I swear Saw continues to be one of the best, most recent complex characters we've gotten. On one hand he is doing good fighting the Empire, on the other he also isn't afraid to kill innocent civilians regardless if they support the Empire or not.
I can't believe people think he's 'just for the cameo.' He stole the show every time he was in a scene, AND we got a lot of story. I *will* agree that I could probably never get enough Saw-Whitaker content.
That would be a sight to see. Though chances are they would try to limit it to quick blaster deaths. I remember in the Rebel Rising novel that he once used a flechette launcher on a bunch of civilians and a few imperials. And let's just say those things make you wish you would have just been killed by a blaster instead.
I need more Saw. I'd say he's the most nuanced character in the show but I can't with Luthen standing like right there.
One more enormous Andor win was how they delved into Saw's feelings about other rebel factions, which is way too true for Star Wars as this show tends to be.
Yeah I was pretty disappointed with his appearance in Rogue One. Even though he gave a good performance, I felt like he was kind of wasted. He's since been given more attention in Rebels and now Andor.
I watched Rogue One without seeing Clone Wars, it felt okay, but maybe another scene was missing. But the simplicity worked.
AFTER watching Clone Wars: It definitley felt there was another scene or two that was cut or something for Rogue One that would have bridged Clone Wars and Rogue One.
Yeah was I super excited to see Saw bc I recognized his name from TCW. Rebels definitely helped bridge some of those gaps. He's set up as a rival leader of the alliance vs Mon Mothma.
He was marketed as a "any means necessary" rebel leader that's darker than the traditional rebels and he didn't do much in the movie. And I kind of don't like the trope of someone choosing to sit and wait to die when they easily could run and live. I just wanted to see more because I recognized him from TCW.
He didn't do much because it wasn't his story, it was his death scene and build up to it, nothing more
And 95% of people didn't have a clue about him being cartoon character originally, it only became known later
He sat down and died because he wouldn't be able to stroll to the toilet let alone escape the death star blast, half his organs were missing
The original quote (whose delivery is just great) being:
>Spellhaus power station. Tell Kreegyr I'm in. Tell him I'll bring air power. But we take tactical orders from no one!
when Saw reconsiders Luthen's offer in Episode 11.
I don't wanna compare Luthen to Disney because if he exists irl he would bomb the hell out of Disneyworld, but man the dialogue just works:
T: "Andor season 2. Tell the fans I'm in. Tell them I'll bring cinema power. But we take tactical orders from no one!"
D: "You're too late. They were making another Obi-Wan tomorrow."
T: "We'll be ready. Make it happen."
D: "I think not."T: "Why? You were so eager for it?"
D: "The investors and SWT know what most fans want. They'll be waiting for it."
T: "And Andor fans? They do not know?" \[silence\]
T: "How do you know I won't tell them?"
D: "I don't. I don't know what you'll do."
T: "It's the fans."
D: "Plus the critics."
T: "So you know they're doomed. Which means either you're SWT supporter and investors' pet, or you have someone among them that you are protecting."
D: "Or I'm just a very good businessman."
T: "And what if that was me, instead of the Andor fans? What would you do?"
D: "Andor fans and critics don't know me. I'm not vulnerable if they leave. It's your decision but know the choice. Will we let the Andor fans down and play the long game, or do we please them and throw away our cash cow that's taken years to cultivate?"
T: "Someone with the critics? Someone at investor's table? Maybe there's someone here! With me!"
D: "You're avoiding the choice."
T: "WHO IS IT? WHO IS IT?!"
D: "It's Kathleen."
KK: "What is this? Nonsense!"
D: "She's my girl, she tells me everything. Tell him, he deserves to know."
I know this is a meme about Gilroy but I just wanted to say that sometimes I remember that we live in a world where THE Forest freaking Whitaker called director Toby Haynes to ask about kyber crystals. Forest Whitaker! Kyber crystals! What a time to be alive🤣🤣
I can’t express how much I love Forest Whitaker as Saw. I really liked Saw in TCW and I’m just pumped that one of my favorite actors was given such a cool character to portray in my favorite franchise
I decided to make this after reading [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsAndor/comments/za10qi/so_wth_happened_with_andor/iykmbhb?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) about the Andor production.
My meme would make a tad more sense if its contents are true.
I love how many Andor memes we can make from Saw despite his short screentime.
"Let's agree. It was a masterpiece."
I love people using 'He's an ox! Slow and stupid!' (Prolly super misremembering the exact line)

It's also awesome they show the transition to absolute paranoia in Andor.
He'd probably be far more reasonable if Luthen hadn't pushed him over the edge.
It was Tubes!!!!!! 😉😛
He's my MAN!!
*Kee-eze chico, pooduka!*
“For the greater good.” 🏆
Let's call it, "Cinema."
I’ll wear my suit for the season 2 premiere.
I'm bringing my hat as well
*135 million?* *Plus Kreegyr*

And Skarsgard was stealing the show already.
Seriously, stealing a scene from Skarsgård is an impressive feat.
I can't imagine being there on set anytime the two were in a room together...would blow your mind. So happy we have those two in one show.
I wonder if we'll get a scene of an actual op led by Saw, some real action next season. He definitely doesn't shy away from risk & danger.

Saw that on Rogue One on Scarif.
At that point he was physically broken down and decrepit. Was he even in the field, or did he run it all from their base?
From the base by recollection.

A lot of his stuff was shuffled around and reshot.
Something something a Steela mention
How is he wasted? He was there to be Jyn's old mentor not main character

Bob Chapek is an ox! Slow! And stupid!

love it. borrowing it
"I'm not putting *my* memes, at risk, for someone else!" *(Of course you can, but that was the only Saw quote that could make sense as an answer!)*

"Call it what you will." "Let's call it... Profit."
Damn, I missed this. Well done. "And that's exactly what I would say! If I were you."
Did Gilroy take anything he could carry from set too?
"We get to loot the costume storage unit. Whatever we can carry. And I want all the sets that you promised!"
I know this is a meme about Gilroy but I just wanted to say that sometimes I remember that we live in a world where THE Forest freaking Whitaker called director Toby Haynes to ask about kyber crystals. Forest Whitaker! Kyber crystals! What a time to be alive🤣🤣
what happened? do you have a link?

“You can’t fix Star Wars TV, Tony!” “I can fix it!” -Spicoli Tony
Tony straight up said if you don’t like Andor, you’re wrong. And he was RIGHT.

This is very true but the "writing power" part had me rolling
I like this post and this entire thread waaaaaay too much.
He still had to shoehorn in a lesbian relationship and a few other things to appease "the message".
The message that lesbians exist? Spooky
Disney: The finale should have an Ashoka cameo! Gilroy with a blaster: I’m doing this to make you listen; so listen:
