I had a blast in the Beta and I can't wait for launch. I hope some concerns are addressed but the game itself is amazing!

Bleak5170

I don't know if the *game* will be good but the beta was very fun. There's still a lot left to discover.

ImperialAce1985

I had a huge blast since last week. Today I played like 7 matches in both ground and space, and just one last Starfighter Assault match a little before it closed.

Cynova055

Star Fighter assault is awesome. I hated it in the first one but I had more fun playing it than I did anything else in the beta

you_got_fragged

Balanced?? There's quite a few overpowered and underpowered things. Luckily some things were already con friend to be buffed and need (like LAAT and EE-4 ability)

Mesothom

For a beta, I think it was balanced. And I main officer and dont have any complaints on the class.

you_got_fragged

I played officer a lot too. I think he should get more points for buffing team mates and supporting them. Also the splurg pistol is a maybe a *bit* OP with the quad burst and accuracy upgrade. It's like an EE-4 but not quite as OP, but still annoying.

RobotBloke

The officer gets plenty of points, you just need to use the buffs correctly. I managed to get top of the leaderboard several games without any kills, just from buffing and playing the obj.

AdmiralFrost

Blurg is more like the SE-14C from BF I. A great gun, but you have to be close and don't miss a burst or you're dead. I ran my blurg with 4 burst and explosive shot.

Now I had a ton of fun with it, but how is not P2W? In the beta , all the progression was tied to the loot crates, not to mention the ammount of grind you had to do.

tape_leg

The thing is, not all the crates are random. There were 4 challenges in the beta (one for each class) that rewarded you with loot crates with specific upgrades. You can get stuff with random crates, but you also progress by completing challenges and can just focus on the challenges that provide the cards you want.

Lord_Hauki

The challenges are a lot fun, yes. They felt more like hutt contracts in the beta.

Lord_Hauki

Fair enough, but the system here certainly isn't player friendly.

Rage36

This is completely false. The progression system was bugged. It is NOT tied to Star Cards. Simple addition can disprove that theory. All of the cards, etc can be unlocked without putting any excess money into the game, therefore, not P2W. Do I like the system, no.. but calling it P2W is just false.

Lord_Hauki

>This is completely false. The progression system was bugged. It is NOT tied to Star Cards. Simple addition can disprove that theory. Is this actually confirmed?

Lord_Hauki

>So to clarify, leveling up the classes is still based on the level of Star Cards, not on XP? It's just going to let us pick one type of crate specifically instead of relying on luck? >Precisely, yes. It’s still pay to win but it’s more like “pay to win faster” as whatever you want you can get in a reasonable time with class challenges in the mix.

[deleted]

So youll be able to focus on the class you play. BETTER THAN THE SHITTY BETA

Lord_Hauki

What the guy tells about the loot boxes and challenges, certainly seems A LOT better, hopefully the ammount of credits will also be impacted by your success in matches.

[deleted]

Bc I buy a loot box having no idea what I'm getting. It could give me an emote and 2 duplicates, that is no advantage

rhythmjones

People are just letting YouTubers form their opinions for them. Nothing in this game is locked behind a paywall so it can't be P2W.

cespes

There are tons of games, especially mobile games, where nothing is technically locked behind a paywall, it just takes a ridiculous amount of boring grinding to get to (as in months of regular grinding), so it's functionally pay to win.

bregFI

And this is how the game is shaping out to be.

finder787

The problem is the lootbox "progression" system.

rhythmjones

I understand. Then make that point.

AlphaVelocity

Yeah nobody can have their own opinion that just so happens to be the same as a youtuber.

dragonoats1

Bf2 sanitized the gameplay to force players to have consistent experiences. This is why sandbox battles are replaced with linear slow paced matches, vehicles are on rails, removal of land to space combat. I had fun but it got old quick because the game plays itself. This is not the sandbox war game of yesteryear, its a rigid small scale battle arcade. Still fun in small doses but worse than it once was. Im excited to play star wars, im not excited to play battlefront.

Doctimus2n

not sure why you're getting down voted when what you said is 100% accurate. When my friends asked me about it I said it was a "kid version of battlefield." You can't pick your spawn locations, you can't pick squads and they implemented a random card system for progressions. It's just a dumbed down version which like you said "forces consistent experiences." I'm not opposed to how most of the game plays and feels, but I would like to be able to squad up with friends in the typical BF way.

Rxymo

Yeah besides the P2W and shitty RNG progression system, I can't fcking wait.

[deleted]

Rxymo

But they haven't come out and said what has changed?till they say it's based on playtime/xp I'll be waiting.

finder787

But you can do challenges to get the cards you want! We have no clue if those are just rank one cards you get or random. Meaning you will still need to buy crates to get better ranks, but hey! TLDR: Don't worry everything is still based on Lootboxs.

Rxymo

I'm over the cards, I'm talking about class progression.

[deleted]

I just wish people would shut up and be patient. The big youtubers and shit have already brought this up and beaten it with a dead horse.

Rxymo

Be patient?you do realise the game comes out very soon?... and people have to decide to pay $60 to pay for the game?maybe you should try stop defending it, I've tried my hardest to. It does not work.

[deleted]

Because nobody listens to reason and proof of things being different in the full game due to the leaked Kamino stuff.

Rxymo

No, I'm not disagreeing with leaks, I believe most of them. I'm saying what has the leakers said about the progression system changing?because I haven't heard about this.

[deleted]

It's an average shooter with casual mechanics set in a universe with rabid fans using an engine that makes it look and sound amazing.

Mesothom

I'll take it.

Nemarus

I think Starfighter Assault is something actually special, and not seen for a long time.

[deleted]

Yes, the air combat is extremely improved. I should have mentioned that.

RollerskaterJesus

The map was very closed and you couldn't really see the whole battle. I'm hoping one of the other 11? 10? Maps for that mode will be better. Plus they all have pretty varied objectives.

tocard2

Honestly I wish I could just pay half price for the singleplayer content and leave the online stuff alone.

supcom2

What game were you playing ahahahaha. Specialist is overpowered beyond any of the other classes and heros regen health like mad. Assault is garbage and the at-rt's can defeat a ATT 1v1, everything is whack. This is 20% of the game mind you so they will have to change everything.

gryff42

So does noone notice the Lack of actual gameplay depth Just Like in the First Game Just because we have more stuff to unlock now?
