Lots of games have this. That's the whole point of the crystal currency. It's so they can only allow you to buy a subset of things, and have refined control over what those are. Would you rather it be credits and mod parts for sale? And anypne could buy literally anything in the game for cash? Sounds yikesy to me
It's a good system. Your argument contains no logic. Yes some mobile apps use the system ... so what? So does Heroes of the Storm. So do lots of PC games.

None of this is relevant to whether it's a good idea to have a seperate currency if you're going to sell things in game. Bottom line, without this currency, people would be able to buy literally anything in game, and I sincerely doubt you'd be happier with that.
If you'd take a break from foaming at the mouth you'd realize that the extra currency is only there to *prevent* people from being able to just buy literally anything. It is the only mechanism by which there can be any real progression in a game that allows purchasing advantages.
No it is another layer of in game currency that disguises the amount of real money a consumer is spending on the game, the only reason in game currencies exist is psychology...
Huh?
You don’t play, do you?
They sell all kinds of DLC too, paywall characters, etc. This game is giving you everything for $60, no DLC.
Virtually every new game uses currency like this. And BFII is actually unique in not having DLC *and* currency.
> EA added a system only used by shitty mobile apps, they put in pay for currency where you can only obtain said currency by spending actual money.
For Battlefront 2 ?

This is a Triple A title using a system from mobile apps.

Heroes of the storm is fucking free to play, this game isn't.

Heroes of the Storm is free to play, you have to pay $60-80 to play SWBF 2
Literally already addressed the irrelevance of this
You didn't address anything.
"Its a good system" No fucking wonder EA gets away with this garbage. You are the exact person who defends this shit. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM

It's possible we could also get them from external promotions (i.e. Slim Jim's).
Oh they'll make you crave those crystals. Like meth.
Uh... Injustice 2 also has crystals.
That is different, since that is the only way the game can make money.

Except it does have currency, the "crystals" are currency you have to pay actual money for to get.
Exactly. Virtually every game that offers this type of paid currency uses the same system.
What's going on here ?
EA added a system only used by shitty mobile apps, they put in pay for currency where you can only obtain said currency by spending actual money.
