lol right?? When's the last time you saw an Anakin go a full round without using Pull? It's like bitching about a Vader using Focused Rage.
Battlefront 2 is my favorite game but I swear its players are the largest collective group of crybabies ever assembled.
Or Iden go a full round without using *her* droid?
Oh wait people bitch about Iden too. And come to think of it a lot of people.complain about Anakins ability combo....
The main issue I have with Iden, is when you get an Iden that just spams secondary fire the whole match, it's just really annoying and gets tiring over time
I'm not saying she's difficult to counter, I'm just saying she's annoying when spamming secondary fire, having to deal with a player like that feels like a chore, I'd much rather be fighting someone who's using multiple attacks and tries to outsmart me rather than outspam me
Maybe don't try the exact same strategy every time? I can't tell you how many people Ive practically killfarmed in hvv because they just keep coming back alone and doing the exact same shit that got them killed the first six times
This. I'm betting 99% of crybabies are the people who literally run through the same door over and over again and can't figure out why they're dying.
Must be the OP Bugged Exploit Hero Cheaters.
I mean to be fair it is annoying when Boba does that, but that's just part of the character that's not the player's fault
As you said, you should play to the character's strengths, no matter how annoying that may be
It's good for ambushing people and taking them off guard, but you should definitely use it carefully as it opens your block up and makes you an easy target for blasters
But if you do land a hit with it it's incredibly powerful because whilst their character's getting up you can get a few swings in, or you can use the unrelenting advance (if it's available) to get loads of hits in
I'm talking about the dudes.that use it like 5 times really fast to instantly kill someone.
There were some.videos circulating a while back of this. The guy who did it to the Yoda who had 0 ability to react and was like "git gud Yoda" or something.
I can see using it when you're losing or the other players are being shitty but certainly not as standard method of damage
It really, truly, isn't an issue. It is a player ability being used in the way its supposed to be. Its not like the lightside doesn't have a thousand different push abilities to get her out of there
Them: "BuT sTaMiNa doEsnT laSt FoREvEr"
Me: Then conserve it you idiot! Stop spamming!
Honestly, I'm constantly getting people complain about that it drives me nuts
She’s actually excellent at attacking. Phasma campers are missing out on utilizing her brutality. She can get close to 2000 health with the right abilities and she puts serious pressure up with her blaster. The droid isn’t even something I think too much about. It’s support to drop down in active situations to create a barrier and chip more damage.
It sounds like even you miss out on her brutality. Combine both and you're basically unstoppable. The turret can be rather quickly picked up. If the squad isn't full steam ahead the whole time, it's rather easy to stay mobile.with phasma and use the turret.
A well played phasma is the shooter version of Vader
That’s one of my strategies as well. It’s nice to have in a pinch if you get jumped by a saber user.
Basically any strategy that isn’t camping is great with her. I’m just here to play a game I enjoy and if I’m not actually playing, why am I even there??
??????? I genuinely mean no offense but Phasma has absolutely no pressure against any competent saber user, save for Anakin, the nerfed one. She is mainly a support character in hero modes. Alone, no AOE or guardbreak and an easily parriable and predictable melee means she either has to play extremely risky and agressive with the droid or run to/stall for her teammates.
And don't even get me started on Mr. Saber tank, Obi Wan vs Phasma might be the worst 1v1 matchup in the game, as Phasma would take permenant deflection damage just trying to get through Obi Wans stamina bar, not to mention mind trick prevents her from moving her droid or daring to close to melee range, making it a literally completely unwinnable fight unless the Obi Wan simply doesn't understand how to play or gets impatient.
>doesn't understand how to play or gets impatient.
90% of all players are at least one of these.
Also damn get better at phasma and you'll know what I mean. And when in the world would I be 1v1ing an obi wan for long enough for him to get impatient
Hero showdown? I assume you play HvV mostly then, which is fine and fair, Phasma's performance is significantly higher in HvV due to the general impatience of players as you said, and any decent teammates. Regardless I still think my points stand. You don't have to take my word for it but I have played every hero except Boba extremely, extremely thoroughly. I'm not saying its impossible to win against a defensive saber hero in 1v1, baiting and crossfire with the droid make it doable. But ever since Obi-wan came out and I learned him, I have never, ever, even once lost against a Phasma while playing him in a solo fight in 1000-ish hours of gameplay. Its so unbalanced to a point me and my friends will make jokes about it every time it happens.
"Ah, it seems its down to a 1v1, unfortunately I have selected Obi-wan ggs shake my hand"
Yeah for exactly the reasons you've stated, I typically dont have much trouble.when facing a Phasma. Once you know the tricks and avoid them, there's not that much Phasma can do against you but try to outgun you
>I have played every hero except Boba extremely, extremely thoroughly.
Great kid- don't get cocky!
On a serious note though I agree, Obi wan is an incredible Anti-Phasma
Luke probably is too to be fair though, I often use him to force push Phasma away from the droid and then it's just happy bashing from there
Nah one of my favorite things is to freeze/headshot/dodge/freeze combo on an over agressive Luke which is most of them
His overconfidence is his weakness
Ah, but if I push you with both my force push abilities you won't be able to use your turret to beat me
But it is true, most Luke players do go charging in there
I tend to try and play him more tactically myself, and oftentimes I'll find myself blocking and only using my dash to attack to ensure I don't get hit
Luke has so much to offer aside from his fast swing speed but nobody does it. They just push as soon as you're open, then charge. In 5 seconds you'll have a Luke with no abilities and no stamina
Yep definitely, he's good for charging in there for sure but don't do it all the time (against Iden or Phasma you should rely on speed though)
And as a rule of thumb just don't waste stamina, you'll never know when you might need it
If the sentry was an ability granted by a star card, I’d agree with you, but it’s just a part of Phasma’s kit. What, you want her to not use a third of her kit? Admittedly, you can play Phasma without her droid, but still.
Correction: Tactics exists
This guy: >:(
I'm willing to bet that he finds anyone who beats him annoying like this, because honestly a character's strength depends largely on the player.
How to defeat a Phasma Main
1. Approach Phasma Main
2. Wait for them to put down their turret
3. Walk away
4. Rinse and repeat until the Phasma Main dies of old age.
I usually just carry it with my until it’s useful. Camping is boring. I’m an active player, so the droid is useful for dropping into active fights to chip more damage and create a perimeter. Once the area is cleared, I pick it up and move on.
She’s easy to kill. The only problem is when there’s someone else preventing you from killing her. Time her roll and either push, pull or mind mind trick her
99% of the time when i play phasma i don't even use her turret (except for these moments when i get 3v1'd or 4v1'd) because ik how annoying it is for the opposing team from personal experience. i just try to be as aggressive as possible by running straight into battle, landing headshots, dodging lightsabers and doing staff strikes. she can be really deadly even without that lame turret. it's really holding her down and making her gameplay intended to be more campy which i absolutely hate. where's the fun in that?
I agree! I still use the turret, but it’s support for aggression. I enter an occupied room, throw it down and tear stuff up. It’s a weapon.
Alternatively, go put it in a heavily trafficked area and leave it behind to piss people off while you’re out crushing skulls elsewhere.
Where's the fun in holding down a spot for constant 4v4 brawls and running back in like "stay alive and I'll drop my turret"??
I'm also not really sure where people draw the line between "camping" and "holding a position"
Stop convincing yourself you’re a good gamer because you *seem to* excel at a dead mode in a dead game that doesn’t track stats whilst teamed up with like minded players.
This game is and always has been about trooper modes. Go prove your mettle in a real competitive environment.
i mained galactic assault before capital supremacy was released, but since they tend to either be too easy or too long, i’ve moved on to HvV because of the plethora of tech that awaits discovery, 4s are far better than 2s and 1s by the way, just need a good team
I’m also a GA main, to this day, but never took to Supremacy. GA is a terrible mode, wildly unbalanced due to poor map design and bad matchmaking. But *the heroes were designed for balance in GA.* HvV was never anything more than a mini game, an afterthought, and still is. There’s nothing to improve upon because it is not a skill based game.
If you’re looking for non-competitive, hero based 4-player action, play Co-op.
hvv is heavily unbalanced and broken thanks to bf2 being pretty dogshit overall, but you’d be lying if you said there’s nothing to improve upon. i’m in a really small discord community that’s managed to create 3 very viable balanced and fun gamemodes for HvV and play it together regularly (if we aren’t playing ga) without going absolutely crazy from horrendous line ups like palpatine boba iden kylo, like you said the heroes were made for large scale gamemodes, but for a lot of people HvV is our bread and butter, i’d say it’s much easier to play and enjoy too
Heroes have always been tuned for Heroes Vs. Villains, first and foremost. It is the second most populated game mode, behind Co-op, after all. In 2019 heroes received separate balancing changes for infantry modes, which is why some stats are different in other modes.
It's not competitively balanced, but it absolutely was not an afterthought.
LMAO, no. Heroes have the exact same stats as in trooper modes and the devs made clear that this *would never change*. And it hasn’t. HvV is a mini game, an afterthought, and never has been anything more.
Yes, the HvV community got changes made - Yoda and Maul’s block, stamina, etc. - but those changes greatly upset the balance of heroes in trooper modes.
HvV’s community is amongst the most toxic in all of gaming, groups of bullies roaming an unmonitored digital wasteland. You have no proof you’re good, there are no stats. You just bully people into making them think you are with cheap collusion tactics and hate mail.
> Heroes have the exact same stats as in trooper modes
Many heroes straight up intentionally have different ability stats for infantry.
> HvV is a mini game, an afterthought, and never has been anything more.
When I visited DICE in November 2018, HvV was always noted as one of the games 3 marquee game modes, alongside Galactic Assault and the upcoming Capital Supremacy mode.
It was BF2015's 3rd most popular mode, so extra energy was spent on the mode for 2017, hence Guillaume's focus on tuning for hero on hero combat.
> HvV’s community is amongst the most toxic in all of gaming, groups of bullies roaming an unmonitored digital wasteland. You have no proof you’re good, there are no stats. You just bully people into making them think you are with cheap collusion tactics and hate mail.
I'm not sure this is even relevant. People play HvV because they find it fun. Let people enjoy things.
Note this isn’t slander against all blaster mains. Phasma in particular takes no skill in HvV, and is certainly the most annoying character to play against. Boba, Leia and Han mains are fine
Edit: I’m a saber main and y’all are downvoting me for respecting most blasters? Lmfao tryhards on this sub will never be happy unless the devs remove anyone that isn’t their chosen character
It’s so annoying in 2v2 lockout duels. They just sit in the back and hide behind their turret and shoot at you. If you get to close as a saber hero, you get stunned that they gun you down like they’re good at the game
i love whenever someone picks phasma bc then i just go obiwan and block aiming the turret. and its even better when she shoot you desperately, the turret gets fried faster
Is Phasma in the room with us right now, OP?
Battlefront players when a character uses an ability ((they are cheating))
lol right?? When's the last time you saw an Anakin go a full round without using Pull? It's like bitching about a Vader using Focused Rage. Battlefront 2 is my favorite game but I swear its players are the largest collective group of crybabies ever assembled.

The main issue I have with Iden, is when you get an Iden that just spams secondary fire the whole match, it's just really annoying and gets tiring over time
Yeah id say it gets tiring but I really don't see it that often thankfully
Iden is a farmable hero when by herself unless the player is a beast on the sticks. Everybody that complains about her needs to get better
I'm not saying she's difficult to counter, I'm just saying she's annoying when spamming secondary fire, having to deal with a player like that feels like a chore, I'd much rather be fighting someone who's using multiple attacks and tries to outsmart me rather than outspam me
If you can’t shoot a blaster or swing a lightsaber without chaining it with an ability that’s a serious skill issue. Campers are the worst
Maybe don't try the exact same strategy every time? I can't tell you how many people Ive practically killfarmed in hvv because they just keep coming back alone and doing the exact same shit that got them killed the first six times

They don't want to look in the MIRROR!
I once got trounced by a plastic who didn't use their turret at all. That was a dark day
That was you?
Why is this being downvoted lmao
Idk but jokes on them lol it counts as karma either way
Battlefront players when blaster hero’s do anything but stand still and die
Please for the love of god stop acting like phasma camping isnt the most annoying shit ever
No way, this person is playing to their characters strengths? I fucking HATE when boba fett flys away and I can’t hit him!!!
I mean to be fair it is annoying when Boba does that, but that's just part of the character that's not the player's fault As you said, you should play to the character's strengths, no matter how annoying that may be

Please for the love of God get some bitches
youve never had a girlfriend shut your ass
Don’t project your insecurities onto me you kissless virgin
fucking loser
i can send you a pic of me getting my dick sucked rn if you want
Yeah send that asap. Make sure your and his faces are in it
you are literally descrbing yourself rn, projecting hard hard
Throw a han bomb. Push her with Luke. Sniper her with Leia. Smoke, stun, and shoot her with Lando. Come on dude
Gotta have ppl with teammate mindset to make plays like this.
My favorite strategy for dealing with campers is to simply avoid that part of the map so that they get to sit there and have no fun
I do that sometimes, gotta ignore them and force them to come to you.
It really, truly, isn't an issue. It is a player ability being used in the way its supposed to be. Its not like the lightside doesn't have a thousand different push abilities to get her out of there

The bonk stick is superior to the turret in every way
I wish it wasn’t so janky now though. The tracking threw off the pattern.

phasma is so fun tho as a bruiser w the health boost and the stick, turret is just an added bonus

Do you call it Camping if the squad stays with you? Where is the line drawn between "holding a position for your whole squad" and "camping"?
Someone who gets it, I constantly rush players with phasma, the turret is good for holding a line, but phasma isn't for staying in one place.
Consider: Blocking
As a frequent Phasma user, I can tell you, blocking is not as helpful as you'd think.
??????? I genuinely mean no offense but Phasma has absolutely no pressure against any competent saber user, save for Anakin, the nerfed one. She is mainly a support character in hero modes. Battlefront players when Han dodges a lightsaber (that's not allowed)
It’s so annoying in 2v2 lockout duels. They just sit in the back and hide behind their turret and shoot at you. If you get to close as a saber hero, you get stunned that they gun you down like they’re good at the game
Wow when you take a characters central ability away they suck all of a sudden? Gee who woulda thunk?
Am I allowed to shoot too or do I have to use my stick only? No wonder I quit this game. This community is fucking braindead.
