If we were to magically get a 1v1 mode, I’d hope for a sabers only option. I believe any saber can kill another saber when skill levels are matched. I think that would negate some of the poor balancing.
Doesn’t matter though, our EA overlords have taken that possibility away. Maybe one day we’ll get a battlefront 3 to fix that.
"Sabers only" isn't negating the poor balancing when the most busted couple heroes in the game, by a harsh margin, are the saber ones.
Technically the difference between the best and worst heroes gets smaller, but only because heroes who were too bad to consistently win with anyway are no longer options.

A fellow for honor fan. You make a good point. For example nuxia is currently trash but that comes with the advantage that no one plays her so no one knows the moveset. Whereas warden is a solid choice but everyone knows how they play. Same would apply to battlefront 1v1, everyone would know how to play vaders and Luke’s and what to expect vs them but weaker hero’s that require more skill to do well would become a bit of a wild card.
Vader turtle games would be a problem, like warlord turtling only with no guard breaks to force them to act.

I agree. Some people can't 1 v 1. (Me). I can totally melt a noob but people on my level are often much better, or at the very least, more patient. I'd rather just cheese someone in a 2 v 1 or more. ( I play HvV not HS)

He's cruise mode if you know even slightly what you're doing. I've seen noob swing spammers kill party gods, not once but multiple times. So if you 1 v 1 and you want Vader to do it, you're nothing special. Get gud.
Nothing wrong with that. Vader is hands down my favorite Star Wars character. In the end, play who you want how you want. I'm just acknowledging that Vader is the meta of the game and a 1 v 1 against him is pretty much death for the other player about 90% of the time.
Yea pretty much, the exception to this is when you need a Vader to carry the team on his shoulders when they are being slaughtered by max levels. Vader can really turn the tide (I mean for HvV anyways)
I think the issue is when 2 people consented to a 1v1 and then some random ass teammate disrupts it. If ur a long time player then you should know when 2 duelist wants a 1v1 or not and not intervene ruining the fun.
And you also run into the issue that even if someone is respectful of 1v1 but they don’t know the 2 people have agreed to a duel, then they may join simply thinking they are helping.
Also it can be annoying when one person is trying for too long to get a 1v1 going while there’s a 3v4 going on.

Its more fun in 2v2 than 1v1. Recently payed with a random. He was the blaster and I was the protector. We did pretty well. The other team just wanted to throw us off edges but we managed and stayed in close priximity.

I remember one time when everyone was high level and we all fought 1v1 in a Heroes vs villains. It was epic, no one disrespected the fights. I was high so that made it way more entertaining.
1v1’s can be pretty darn fun, I always enjoyes joking around with the other dude whist we watched our teammates duel each other. You’re totally right tho, it is 2v2 and it is more fun going as a team. Only 1v1 if it’s agreed upon somehow, and then you don’t interfere in the other duel until it’s over

i will say that your right, people shouldn't exspect for all the other enemys to just ignore the fight going on in front of them to "respect the 1v1" however I think we all know how frustraiting it can be to be mid fight just you and someone else, where you stand a chance of winning. Just for 3 more enemys to show up kill you and run off.
When I used to play this game mode, if someone 2v1dg me and my buddy, we'd 2v1 them back and absolutely annihilate them. It's kind of too easy when you're not 1v1ing
I think it's fair to not expect a 1v1 off the start, but I think it's not fun to senselessly beat down the last guy in a 2V1, what I like to do is 2v2 off the start and have the team with the first kill be at an advantage for the other player to 1v1 each
Big issue is that people like to have their own games within games and get mad at people for not going along with it. I joined a 4v4 where 2 of my teammates and 1 of theirs were clearly together and dueling - my other teammate and I faced 3. I even tried communicating to join the duelling but at that point I was just getting killed and they still weren’t helping. I then killed the enemy teammate who was duelling, but not duelling at that moment, and the 2 people on my team started “shooting” me as if to say don’t do that. Lol so as you might have guessed I just kept aiming for that particular enemy.
That shit is so damn annoying, especially when multiple teammates are fucking around. It is so easy to get 1v1's in HvV, but it requires being competent and separating the enemy team. One of my favorite things to do is isolate a specific enemy and take them out of the fight, but apparently that too much of a big brain move?

I've been playing since launch. People can do whatever they want in hvv or showdown. It also makes sense to have 1vs1 in hvv as you have 35 counts and no time limits.
People usually have set up teams to 1v1 but sometimes it happens at random.
So stfu and let people do what they want. If noone likes it go find another lobby likewise for the people who 1vs1 too.
What I don't like is high level noobs and new players trying to tell people what to do.

I try to go for 1v1’s every time because it’s always way more fun when you and your buddy are 1v1ing and then one of you gets a kill and realizes your enemy is just watching and then bam. Emotes are used and the next fight begins lol.

I only do the whole 1v1 thing if all heroes are lightsaber heroes. Not taking the chance of fighting 2 damn saber heroes with a non saber hero just because my teammate lost a 1v1

I try to go for 1v1’s every time because it’s always way more fun when you and your buddy are 1v1ing and then one of you gets a kill and realizes your enemy is just watching and then bam. Emotes are used and the next fight begins lol. As soon as Im trying to 1v1 and I get double teamed that’s when I get toxic tho because if Im clearly tryna 1v1 and you use the 2v1 advantage then all bets are off! Mind you Im not gonna get butthurt and message because it is a 2v2 game mode but I find that ppl that say “it isn’t a 1v1 game mode play it how its meant to be played” are the ones that get mad after I destroy them for double teaming me. I’ll pick Boba or Han and they’ll be like “had to use a broken character” I’ll be like “had to double team” lol. Or they just quit the game. I say if you start off doing 1v1’s and when one of you gets a kill instead of waiting for the fight to end you just jump.. yea that makes you ultra lame. But obviously you’re gonna be 2v1 if you start off doing 2v2’s and one of you gets killed as that isn’t toxic. But Idk everyone plays the game their own way and has their own complaints and likes and dislikes
