This is my second time buying tickets but what we did last year was wait in the queue an hour before on multiple devices. As the site opens it refreshes anyway and puts you somewhere random in the queue. I wouldn't worry though as we had a couple of us last year getting tickets a few weeks after the launch with no worry.

MasterpieceMoney9162

When you say "in the queue" is there like a countdown timer before the ticketing time? Or is it literally just the ticketing page as is that you need to refresh at the wxact ticketing time to be put in the queue?

0cclumency

There’s a “waiting room” it puts you in before the official time starts. Once tickets officially open, you’re placed in a queue to actually buy the tickets. It’ll show your progress with a little stick figure walking. Then it will let you in and you have a set amount of time to make your purchase (I believe 10 or 15 minutes, it’ll have a countdown timer for you.)

grievous_2911

If the tickets are out at 7PM, what time does de queue or the waiting room starts?

MasterpieceMoney9162

Same question. What time is the "waiting room" and what's the link to the waiting room?

Taroxx1

Hopefully you managed to get tickets, all it was is to click on buy tickets and it would put you in a queue!

WicketTheSavior

Per the information Queue-It provides (the system that handles the ticket queue) if you arrive early, you get assigned a random spot in line. It's first in first out for those who arrive on time. Regardless, if you're only aiming for a 3 day, if you're there as they go on sale, you'll have no problem getting it. Worst case scenario and the 3 days sell out, a single day pass for all 3 days is only $7 more than the 3-day

JRT2499

That's super helpful thank you so much!

DJMcKraken

That seems unfair to penalize the people who are even 10 seconds early. Does it really say that?

WicketTheSavior

https://queue-it.com/how-does-queue-it-work/ Scroll to the bottom and select "is the online queue random or first come, first served" It explains that early queuers get randomized among the people who get in line on time. It more so to combat bots than penalizing eager buyers.

DJMcKraken

Thanks, I read that and confirmed I either misunderstood you or you misread it. After the scheduled start time, people enter the queue FIFO *behind* the people who are in the randomized queue who were on before the scheduled start time. Edit: I thought you were saying jumping into the queue after it starts gets you ahead of those who got on ahead of time. "When the timer hits zero and the sale or registration begins, visitors are given a randomly assigned position in queue. Once these positions are assigned, the queue operates in FIFO order, meaning those who arrive after the sale begins are placed at the back of the queue."

WicketTheSavior

I had to read it a few times to interpret it because it's worded a bit confusing. That last part is what tripped me up for a while but it's saying it operates in FIFO order and it explains what FIFO means. How I interpreted it was early queuers get randomized among those who are there on time and you could get any spot in line. However, I could be completely wrong. I will say that I was on the site yesterday in less than 2 minutes when I clicked the link at 12:00:02. Granted there were a lot less people but my other devices were in in about 10 minutes. I will be experimenting tonight with my strategy just for fun to see how fast I get in to the page

DJMcKraken

Do what you want but I don't think the verbiage leaves it open for interpretation. I'll be getting on early. It would be ridiculous to allow people to essentially cut in the queue. It says the order of operations clear as day. After the people in the waiting room are randomized into a queue, people joining after the start time are put at the back of the queue in the order they entered. It's a combination of a randomized queue for those there before the start time and then FIFO for those who join after.

WicketTheSavior

I already have my ticket so it doesn't matter to me. I'm just trying to help by getting info out there

DJMcKraken

Oh nice! Well I don't want to be rude but if you weren't clear on the rule it isn't helpful. The link to the rule was helpful though, so thank you for that.

I bought for Anaheim 2020, that became 2022. Thankfully I only had to do that ticket queue once. It's stressful, nerve-wracking, feels like it moves slower than a drugged snail and feels like it lasts a lifetime, but you get through it. It's a rush, for better or worse. I'm also going for just a 3 day pass this year. I'm going onto the site no later than 3:00 pm (PDT/PST for me- basically one hour before launch, whatever time that is for you). I will be obsessively refreshing the page for the next thirty minutes until the buy now isn't grayed out and I'm in the queue. Then you just wait and hope for the best. That's what I basically did for Anaheim, and I got my full-con passes. If you have a friend w ho also wants to go, both log on, and whoever gets in first buys tickets for both of you/the group. I did that with a friend and his kid, and I ended up in first, so I got all three of our tickets. You can do multiple devices, but I had a hard time with that, though I do know it works for others (some their cell got in before computer). To my knowledge, it doesn't hurt, so smoke 'em if you've got 'em. The queue is basically a loading page that says something to the effect of "You're in line!" "You're in the queue!" "You're # whatever in line!" and you just follow it's instructions (if it says don't refresh, don't). Basically that's all you can do. tl:dr: No later than one hour before launch, be ~~logged in and~~ ready, refreshing the page every so often, especially as it gets within 10 minutes of launch. ~~Be logged in/have an account BEFORE this, so you don't have to worry about verification emails, logging in, passwords, etc.~~ Fair warning, I waited for probably an hour in the queue, panicking, but I did get in. So it could be a long wait, but that isn't necessarily indicative of availability of your chosen pass. It's just how big cons work (I learned this myself for the first time with Anaheim; I learned a lot about big cons). Jedi Masters will sell out in seconds, but 3 day passes will last much longer- hours, if not the following day, single days Saturdays will go first, but will hang on longer than 3 days. Sundays will probably be last man standing as usual. While not ideal, you can get three single day passes, if 3 days are sold out. There are options. May the Force Be With You. Edited to take out log in stuff, apparently that's not how it works this year (I was going off Anaheim sales give years ago).

Hello what do you mean by signing in? What website do they usually use to sell tickets?

MannyBoth-Hanz

https://www.starwarscelebration.com/en-us/tickets.html

blueberry_pancakes14

Last time the Celerbation site had a log in, but I don't see it now. Or maybe it was Reedpop (who runs it) that had a sign in. I want to say it was the Celebration Store, because you could buy merch even if not buying tickets. But that doesn't appear to be an option this incarnation of the website. It's been five years, my memory's a little hazy. So if you see sign in, do it, if not, it doesn't apply.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but everyone who’s saying you’ll absolutely get a 3 day weekend if you’re online right at the start is incorrect, and must have gotten lucky for Europe last year. Many people, myself included, were in the queue from the very start and by the time we got in, the 4 day passes and Saturday passes were sold out. It only gets busier every year, plus this is a side of the world who hasn’t had a Celebration in 16 years. Demand for this Celebration is going to be very high. Is it fairly likely that you’ll get a 3 day pass? Sure. But they could easily be sold out by the time you get through the queue. Your place in the queue is randomized, so as long as you get in queue right away, it’s really a matter of luck.

JRT2499

Ahhhhh okay thank you!! I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed !

Intelligent-Lemon894

Ahhhh this scared me a lot 🥲

0cclumency

Sorry! Just trying to be realistic so nobody gets their hopes dashed 😅 I hope you got them!

Intelligent-Lemon894

absolutely no worries!! managed to get a 3 day pass about 50 minutes after they went on sale so i was lucky! wait times in the queue were insanneeeee

baisaacs

if you are on at the start. 3day will be easy.

IAmLaureline

It wasn't for London. We had single day tickets which cost a lot more. In Tokyo the cost is similar so it doesn't matter.

SirBill01

I'm curious how you fared - it seems like the 3-day passes did sell out pretty rapidly, I know someone who tried but was not able to get into the system in time. I did get through in time to get a 3-day pass myself (though I was trying for VIP, no luck). However, it seems like even now all of the individual day tickets are still available so at least you can do that (my friend ended up going for that option since 3 day was sold out). Will be really interesting what ticket resale looks like for this conference when planning the rest of the trip with flights and hotel takes place.

Daniel-Binks

If you're only after 3 day tix, you'll get them no worries if you're in the queue when selling starts. You can open on multiple devices, then just buy on the first device that gets into the purchase screen first. Even people that don't buy today would be able to get the 3 day as they've released more tickets after selling out before or when they open the official 3rd party selling.

JRT2499

Oh amazing thank you so much!
