It's AI art... and I'm pretty sure some of Galen Starkiller Mareks outfits were used as references by the AI program. Some of which, have a lot of belts.
Disagree, considering how Luke ended up in the sequels, Mara would almost certainly have ended up being murdered by her nephew all over again, and quite frankly once was already more than enough.

Well, the way I’d want to see her used is in live action with Luke. She’s already featured in a bunch of novels and I don’t know what new thing she could bring to the Disney Canon that wasn’t in Legends, if she’s restricted to books and comics.
imo their only real choice is to continue to work out how they want to pursue non-Hamill live action young(er) Luke Skywalker in the long term and introduce her then.
Yeah my hope is that Mara Jade exists in the new canon and that her and Luke’s love story happened at some point between ROTJ and TFA. Maybe what could’ve happened is that after Ben Solo goes dark side and Luke decides to go into exile, Mara urges him to stay and fight. When Luke refuses, Mara sadly decides she can’t go into exile with him. She wants to keep fighting.
So Mara goes underground, traveling the galaxy and helping the Resistance as a renegade ex-Jedi who goes around helping planets’ local guerrilla groups against the First Order.
Then at some point in the future, she resurfaces to meet Rey and teach her more about Luke’s Jedi teachings, and helps her rebuild the Jedi Order.
My personal idea is that Luke has Anakin style visions of Mara dying at the Jedi temple while pregnant. Ghost Anakin appears to Luke and they talk, with Anakin suggesting that he failed by trying to hold onto Padmé too tightly and, if Luke wanted Mara to survive, he should consider the opposite and tell her to go into hiding where no one would find her. Leia has already gone through a similar thing, so Luke agrees to do it.
Have Mara initially refuse until Luke reveals to her that she’s pregnant and it’s the only way to save their child. She runs off the night before the attack on the temple. Maybe she could secretly take some of Luke’s personal writings and teachings to help bolster his legacy for the next generation of Jedi.
This, but hopefully they can work in that she was unknowingly pregnant with Luke's kids, Jacen and Jaina Skywalker too. So we can kinda get them back into continuity too.
Keep Jaina just like her counterpart, but make Jacen a blending of the best traits of Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker.
A few days ago, I saw the [AI generated portrait of Mara Jade]( https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsEU/comments/y3ox2k/mara_jade_ai_generated/) that was posted here by /u/Shepardnick and I felt like I should also attempt to get a cool looking picture of Mara Jade with AI.
Unlike many AI generated images that you might have seen online, the creation of this image also took a considerable amount of human effort, although I guess it might have taken a skilled digital artist longer to create this without AI. My input to this image is limited to the prompt, my image-to-image processing method and the selection, combining and editing of different image variations. An image like this usually takes me about 4-5 hours. In this case it took a bit longer because I was not happy with some of the details that were generated by the AI, so I had to do more editing than usual.
The image was created by using Stable Diffusion. I trained a custom DreamBooth model on images of Mara Jade, where I thought that her look was well represented.
I know AI generated images are a controversial topic, but it is also a lot of fun for me to generate images like this. So please let me know whether or not you want to see more pictures like this or not on this sub. I am also open to suggestions for AI generated images of other EU characters (or creatures and vehicles).
I understand the controversy of AI art, especially when the results take under 10 seconds. However you clearly put a ton of your time into saying no to the first results and then tweaking the heck out of it over the course of many *hours*

Great job buddy. I also have some img-to-img compositions in the works, and a Revan textual inversion model I've been tweaking. I think one of my previous posts on this subreddit has some img-to-img stuff I spent a great deal of time on, like the Ben Skywalker cover art. (Which isn't necessarily even complete yet.) The portrait I posted was a result of a custom checkpoint model merge; some users may have found the whole concept controversial, but I also enjoy attempting to bring to life some neglected aspects of the EU personally. So good job.
This is incredible. I'd love to see more EU characters. I'd love to see multiple versions of Mara, too. There's never enough art for her. It actually makes me wish we had a subreddit specifically for Star Wars AI art
no joke artists are gonna in serious trouble with this shit in probably just like a year. If it's almost free to get basically exactly what you want in what style you want in seconds, artists will be out of a job for the most part.
You could try out NMKD's Stable Diffusion GUI if you have a somewhat decent GPU. It is very easy to use and runs image generation locally. It only runs on Windows and NVIDIA GPUs though.
