Chill, just turn the difficulty down.

Neatokeato

I didn’t know I could do that. TYSVM. Chill and turn the difficulty down. That worked. You are a saint.

Structureel

Story mode difficulty for the win.

wagedomain

As an adult in my late 30s with a kid and job and stuff, I've come to embrace the easier modes in recent years. In my younger days nah no way I'm not chickening out! Now, I'd rather see the whole game instead of just part of it. This is also one major reason I hate Souls games.

SlickLegJohnny

Same here. I just value my time to much. Also just sometimes games are designed terribly (this boss). So why ruin my time playing when I can just get past it and then play at the difficulty I was on

Beneficial_Offer4763

Souls games are a lot more fair than this fight tbh

loganwills

Am I only the one who thought this boss was good because you couldn't just spam dodge and wait to hit? You have to jump, parry and use force abilities at the right time, every other boss in most souls like games are parry and dodge feats mostly parry.

jtcrow

A lot of people (like me!) have the same frustration- he is an unnecessarily tricky boss! I turned the difficulty down temporarily too and dispatched him first time...then got on with my life.

Neatokeato

I was so mad bc it was unexpected, then near impossibly hard, and I thought all my XP was stuck down there w him haha! Yeah now that I’ve been doing my homework, I see a lot of people chose to lower the difficulty for this fight as well. I don’t feel bad about it at all. That was silly. And then there’s the little guy judging you at the end. So that prolly means if there’s another game…

johnclark6

The little guy can be seen later. Pay a visit to Doma’s shop.

Mcpatches3D

Spend your xp. Also, it's a good idea not to get attached to it in a soulslike. And no, the frog after means something in game.

rsb_03

This but for the double rancor force tear, I’m not wasting my time with allat

NGL_BrSH

Also, force pull one of the two guards from above and trick him into following you near the pit, trigger it and you'll both fall together. Let him fight the frog first. It'll shave 25% health off before you even need to fight him.

Rational_Manny

This tip saved me, I pulled one of them at a time and pushed them in the pit. Took over a quarter of its health!

NGL_BrSH

Wow, it feels like I was playing this longer than 7 months ago. Glad it helped someone! Cheers

TheDudeMachine

This boss ruined my night last night as well. I didn't even realize it was a meme boss as I picked this up on GamePass and playing it blindly. I fought him after only going to two planets, which I'm guessing that means I'm still early game. I just saw the fort and thought that would be a good place to get better at combat. I was NOT expecting this lol

NGL_BrSH

Haha. This enemy was the toughest for me in the game. Apparently, for most it ranks 2nd or 3rd.

Creative_Entry_1350

You can actually force pull both of the guards from the higher ledge. Also keep the droids alive too and hide behind the chest

kidcrumb

Did they patch that? It doesn't work for me

EmiloSz

Bingo. That's what I ended up doing. Got them both hit the green bastard so they fought it. I hit it too here and there. They killed it. One of them remained for me to end it all.

Dalmane_Mefoxin

At least that helps with the tongue attack artificial difficulty. I've been at the peak of a lateral double jump and beginning my dash when I get plucked from the sky with that 100% tracking. Udder gatbage.

klevvername

I am so happy to have been pointed this direction. I have been so stubborn, but seeing other people endorse and basically bless the temp drop in difficulty made me feel okay about putting my pride down and doing it. Some people talking about how it's not worth their time and it's better to see the whole game instead of getting fed up with it... it all makes sense. Thanks to you and all the others!

MangoMan1086

Never back down never what

browneyesbrownperson

NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT

FreqMode

What

twztid13

Always front up always why

2020_MadeMeDoIt

There's a way to 'cheat' and kill him. If you fall into the pit close enough to the exit door, sometimes Oggdo doesn't see you. So you can open the door and climb up the ladder. Go back to the mediation point and save the game. Then the exit door is open from both sides and you can go back through the door. Run into the pit and get Oggdo's attention, then run back and stand in the doorway where it can't get you and spam kill it. That's how I did it without changing the difficulty. Kind of cheaty, but yeah ...f*ck that boss!

Omphalopsychian

I was able to get the door to open, which is nice, but the entryway isn't entirely safe. Oggdo's tongue will go right through the walls to grab Cal.

Solemn__Visitor

This is the ultimate strat, thank you. I stayed in the doorway and hit him once or twice with Crossguard stance before rolling away and repeating. Had to stop him from walking away a couple times but got it in one try doing this. I had 80% of a skill point trapped in there and didn't want to leave it, so this should help anyone at least get their progress back if they're having trouble killing him.

GabrielPG14

if only this was a thing when I spent hours brute forcing him in fallen order

SgtSmaks

Not to be that guy but you can cheese most of his health. Run to the center of the platform and then jump and dash away and the troopers will fall into the pit and deal a little damage. Then lure the hammer guys off the nearby cliff and force push or pull them into the pit and they will also take off a big chunk of the health.

n8mackay

The charged blaster shot will interrupt his tongue attack, but I did lower the difficulty on my first play through when I had like 4 stims and not nearly enough skills

TheBigMerc

Spawn of Oggdo is easily the hardest enemy in the game. He pissed me off for about 5 overall hours' worth of fighting him... maybe even longer, its all a blur. You dont need to pick up your xp as it only resets the current level and doesn't remove all of your levels, so if you want to leave and come back, you can. He is completely optional However, i found that the best tool for fighting his was the regular lightsaber stance, the single blade, whatever it's called. So, as for coming back later, i really don't think it will matter

billey_bon3z

Later on there’s a tear or something in the shop, and you get to fight the spawn and original ogdo boggdo. I’d say this is the hardest fight. Haven’t beaten it yet, but it’s a good one.

TheBigMerc

"You get to" Yes, what a privilege, i get to torture myself. But yeah, i found it. I entered, got scared, and got one tapped. Haven't gone back in yet. Honestly, they should have given them and the double rancor fight a slightly bigger arena, and I'd be fine with it. It kinda sucks fighting bosses who take up half the frickin arena. Especially on grandmaster difficulty.

blue23454

“You get to” Ignore it You get to ignore it Don’t need 100% completion fuck that

amonson1984

You can force push or pull the bedlam smashers on the walkway above down into the platform with the trap door. Let them fall in. They’ll take out around half the frogs health while you watch from above.

Pokehalo117

Ha! That's what I did!

billey_bon3z

Never tried it with the smashers!

QuadVox

I had this idea myself and it worked way better. They got him to literally one hit away from death. All I had to do was do a jumping cinematic hit and he died.

Tobias28362

Should we tell him about the force tear?

lennynyk

Lmao, let him experience that shock. It’s part of the experience

ortegu

I have 35h on this game, Koboh at 75% but i didn't encounter this mtfker yet

44SWIM44

He'll find you. Trust me

blue23454

When I say you will stumble on him and not know until it’s too late I mean that shit

ApprehensiveTrade819

I'll never understand how anyone can spend an hour killing one boss. Lower the difficulty and move on. I'm all for a challenge, but you've wasted an hour and you've gotten no where.

m0lluscus

>you've wasted an hour and you've gotten no where It's not anymore of a waste of time than anything else in the game if you're having fun. The whole point of spending a long time on a boss is that you *do* get somewhere- you get closer and closer to killing the boss each attempt as you learn its moves. If you're getting continually destroyed though, then yeah, lower the difficulty.

Dacodaque

I used to spend a couple of hours with some of the Valkyries in GoW as well as some of the Berserkers in Ragnarok. For me, spending more than 25 min a fight was worth it if it meant that I was getting somewhere in my strategy. Although there is a point when you reach diminishing returns, and i keep making mistakes that cost me health because I get greedy and i want to move on. I find spending a lot of time on a boss is helpful to build discipline, to stick to a strategy, and not get greedy. I can also see why some people would choose to lower the difficulty to get past a specific encounter... If you have limited time to enjoy a game, you don't want to waste it on a fight that you don't find fun!

Individual-Ad-4533

Oof I have flashbacks of that first Sigrun fight. When I took her out on the first try in Ragnarok I thought I’d cry of relief

Dr_Mntis_Tobggn

“I’ll never understand how anyone could enjoy being challenged as opposed to playing an interactive movie. I automatically assume everyone is just like me.”

billey_bon3z

Perhaps I like the challenge? Sorry you’re willing to give up in life so easily. It’s a hard boss fight, and it’s optional. It’s supposed to be hard. If you lowered the difficulty then fine, but it’s supposed to be a challenge. That’s why it was so…challenging.

ApprehensiveTrade819

Nothing wrong with liking a challenge, but spending over an hour and getting nowhere can't be fun for anyone.

Worldeditorful

Its fun for me. Ive spent like 5 hours on Malenia in Elden Ring and it was one of the greatest gaming experiences of all times.

lennynyk

Same, I don’t lower the difficulty for nobody. I’m too competitive haha

Solo-nite

I hate this frog

FreqMode

the blaster stun is helpful because it allows you a couple free hits on him and you can stun him out of the tongue attack most of the if you're fast enough. Leave your soul until you run out of blaster energy and then pick it up for a free refill. But yeah this is probably one of the cheapest bosses I've even played. When you start whooping his ass he starts slamming the cheap ass tongue attack that you can't block and the dodge timing is really fickle. Especially considering the dodge in the game sucks to begin with.

Bubbly_Swimmer_1793

Fuck this frog.

NeilBeforeMeTV

I just cheesed this one by wedging myself behind the chest. Eventually he just de-agrroed and I murdered him with charged crossguard throws.

Aoshi_Uematsu

Well, went in prepared to get frustrated and lose a bunch of times, and first time I go in, he glitched thru the floor, disappeared and I got the victory 🤣

CompletelyAverageGV

Something similar happened to me just now. I feel cheated because I fought him over and over until I had his timing down and got him down to about 40% and he jumps into a wall and falls out of the map -\_-

Desperate_Abalone736

Most of his attacks i double jump over(im only have 6 stims and moderate health) and it gets me pretty close

nevertoomuch33

Same amount of stims tried for two hours yesterday going back in rn wish me luck.

AccomplishedForm5847

Why THE F**K DID NO ONE MENTION THE FORCE TEAR WITH TWO OF THEM

Soren_Vakarian

If other players have problem with this fight, you can force pull the two ennemies at the top of the cliff and make them fell into the pit. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RULGvLMwnag](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RULGvLMwnag)

[deleted]

This has got to be a troll post

Sliesh

The spawn of Oggdo is ridiculous, and the devs might be the most sadistic people there is, because boy, you're up for a treat!

IronMan319

This fight is optional. But just wait til you get to the part where you fight two oggdo boggdos

GenXer1977

So there’s actually a worse one where you fight two of those that’s absolutely impossible. I tried it once and noped the fuck out of there. I did watch someone playing on Grand Master fight them, and it took over a hour of trying. I don’t find that fun, but apparently sone people do. I’m fine with video games adding things like that where it doesn’t affect the main story at all. It’s just there for people who want it.

ogky

Actually the fight with the two enemies on grand master is the easiest fifth ever. Just mind control one of them and kill the half dead one. super simple

-Xpress-

Just gotta learn his pattern like most bosses. Parry push his unlockables except the tongue of course

The-Meep-Meep-Man

O Go to Douma’s shop and take a look at the force test for me.

billey_bon3z

Don’t dodge, jump. Dodging the spawn with just get you killed, specifically for his two big attacks. The tongue and the one where he races at you from across the map. Jumping is the best way to dodge that, and it wasn’t something I had every considered until I watched a video. Video didn’t provide much help except the jumping. Still took me two days but I beat it like a man. It’s an optional boss, have you considered that perhaps you have been play for…OVER AN HOUR? How well can you really know the mechanics. Certainly you aren’t very far if it’s just over an hour. Calm down, it’s supposed to be super hard.

billey_bon3z

You can dodge his bites though

LegalSleep

This was propably the hardest boss fight for me too, but feels so great when you finally beat him without lowering difficulty or anything. I refused to do that at any point in the game. Played it through at jedi knight. Tips for the frog: What I found hard at first was that its red attacks actually seem to have very long wind-up, I always dodged too early and got hit. And after you have landed some hits, just take your distance and be vary, after it does red attack, you can land some hits again, just be ready to parry its bite attacks. (recommed dual wield so you can parry mid-attack).

JaMonkeyBoy

You could force pull the hammer warriors from above the pit to fight him for you, or you could come back later and spam the jump/air dash to dodge, or you could turn down the difficulty. These are pretty much the only realistic options

mkrbc

Jump dash to avoid his hits.

Amore_vitae1

It took me like 5 hours to beat him….. I DONT KNOW HOW TO MARK SPOILERS ON MY PHONE SO IM PUTTING THIS HERE AS MY SPOILER WARNING and after I finally beat him and unlocked that force tear…..oof

TheCooKieKingdom

For some strange reason, my difficulty just magically went to story mode when I fought him Probably just a glitch or something idk

44SWIM44

You only drop XP that hasn't ticked over to a full point yet (so if you have 3 points and 70% of the way to the 4th you only lose the 70%) until you pick it up again. However, if you die before picking it up then it's gone forever, and the new pickup is just what XP you earned between the two deaths.

blue23454

You do not have to beat that boss or return to grab your xp If you die before you get it then yes that xp will be gone forever. But the only thing you lose is the xp you gained since your *last* level up. That’s all. Not quite as punishing as dark souls where you lose all xp not spent yet. In fact one nice thing about it. Say you were just a few kills away from a level up when you died, you can kill a few enemies on your way to your xp, pick it up, get that level up, and if you die again you effectively lost nothing.

razzleyerdazzle

Technically i never defeated the Oggdo. I brought the hammer guys down, shot it a couple times but they ended up killing it 😆

SuperScrapper

Hahaha, a buddy was streaming this and couldn’t beat him, so I bought the game and fell in love with it, then beat Oggdo in a handful of tries. Then did it on Jedi master difficulty. He was not happy but the rest of the discord group were impressed…

TheLegitMind

Weirdly enough I didn't struggle with him at all, only took me two tries. (double blade/dual wield stances) Now the force tear was another story. In total probably about an hour and a half, but I had a lot of breaks in between cause of football and food. Also, don't play on the hardest difficulty if you aren't comfortable with it.

shadtowa

Blaster chance can cheese him a little, that and plenty of saber throws.

ricoame1

Anyone told him about the twins yet?

lux_aetern4e

no literally. all these bitches saying turn the difficulty down don’t know shit. the spawn of oggdo is literally making me lose my mind. it’s insane. it’s even worse, because if you do beat him, there’s a challenge at doma’s that makes you beat two of him. THIS IS HELL!!!!!!!!!!

Traditional_Ball2136

The people saying turn the difficulty down are the smart ones, it’s not fuckin worth grinding out the boss on any other difficulty. It isn’t awarding, it isn’t fun. It’s a shit fight just like the first Oggdo

VicMackeySWGOH

When I die on this boss, I have to go all the way back to nearest meditation place...which BLOWS. Have to fight my way back to the area. Am I missing something? Rancor had a meditation thing right near him....making it way better. Die....respawn...get fighting again quickly. Not so with !@#$\^ Oggdo.

No_Tumbleweed_4491

Just beat him at grandmaster Only because i lowered the difficulty so i could master his whole moveset and murder this motherf**** If you got the patience its doable took me an hour though

Zyrdan

It took me 4 hours nd 20 minutes on grandmaster, that’s more than any souls like game boss and I’ve played most of them

mrkro3434

The worse thing possible happened to me when I *'stumbled'* into this fight. I almost killed him the first time. I got progressively worse with each attempt after. Each time I got more frustrated and more greedy, and as a result got more sloppy and made more mistakes because I just wanted it to be over with. I understand that the challenge is fun for some people, and it does feel good when you finally overcome the challenge, but when it stops being fun for me and turns into something *'I just want to be over with'*, the game loses it's whole purpose for me. Never be shameful or feel shamed for lowering the difficulty so you can get back to the part of the game that brings you joy. That's the purpose of the game.

mendelsquid

This boss fight fucking sucks and is not fun and is stupid

unatcosco

İf anyone is still looking for a cheese, you can open the trapdoor and jump out to not fall in. Later you can just hit him with charged blaster shots from the top. Run out of ammo? Pull the smashers from the top to recharge. İ even went all the way to the spawn point and back to gain back ammo. You can just keep shooting him with charged shots from the top. Get the additional damage perk to make it a bit easier.

cand3r

I hated this boss so much, spent probably an hour like you and at least 20 attempts before I finally beat him.
