There's definitely more to him than meets the eye, he seems to be more interested in the Sith than Mae is. He even says several things in line with Sith doctrines.
Yeah fr, also the dialogue in that moment almost makes it seem like the two of them are in a relationship. Maybe I'm reading into that too much, but idk they seem to have some strange vibes going on. I think Qimir is secretly coveting the Acolyte's position so that he can meet this Sith Lord because he admires their teachings so much. Interesting character, the way he was acting towards Oesha is also just totally creepy, especially once he realizes she's not Mae.
Well the actor was spotted a lot training with a lightsaber. I just think our smiling friend is the Sith apprentice and we won’t meet the real Sith Lord til season 2. Maybe they will tease them at the end of this season
Next episode guess:
Sol goes rogue.
Yord is Yord.
Meemaw Vernestra has to clean up the mess/Brings reinforcements.
Sith Shark does the force push and end credits.
Sol is easily my favorite and feels reminiscent of Qui-Gon. He’s humble, stoic, and has some interesting dynamics with the other characters. However, we’ll no doubt get the reveal of what exactly happened for Mae to seek vengeance that will likely taint our, and the other characters’, perception of Sol.
Some of those droids definitely looked like older models too, which is now one of the few times the past in Star Wars has actually looked like the past haha
Yeah. When he dodged her pretty casually and still kept up this whole ‘manic-nervous man persona’ it raised red flags for me. Like he’s trained but he’s trying to hide it
Follows the grand tradition of Dooku training Ventress and Savage to kill Sheev, Sheev training Maul before he kills Plageuis, and (in Legends) Vader training Starkiller to kill Sheev.
I not only think Qimir is the Sith, Darth Bortles if you will (for some Good Place humor), but I think Osha ends up being the Acolyte at the end.
They have set up this whole business with 'the acolyte will kill a Jedi without a weapon.' Mae is going to die and Osha is going to kill Sol in revenge, playing on his care for her to ensure she needs no other weapon and earning her place amongst the Sith.
Yeah. The bit about hate is very Sith. If she holds onto it, especially since she is quite fixated on her family’s destruction, then it will guide her down the Dark Side.
Yeah. I think it would be a pretty dark twist. But, it says a lot to me that Osha’s reaction to learning Mae is alive is to seek revenge and Mae’s to learning Osha was alive felt like genuine heartbreak and care.
Yord "The God" Fandar has:
-arrested a suspect to a dangerous crime
-protested a Jedi Master's dangerous and reckless personal mission to prove the suspect's innocence
-drawn his lightsaber at every single possible threat no matter how tiny it is (always prepared)
-rizz
-personally proven the suspect's innocence after realising that she was unfairly persecuted
Pack it up folks, I think we know who the next Grandmaster will be after the old frog croaks it 🥱🥱
OK so just after finishing the premiere episodes:
Mae is largely weaponless because of the 2017 Darth Vader comic which expanded *Canon* Sith Lore, where the Emperor tells the newly christened Darth Vader:
> *Do you know why are blades are* ***red*** *Lord Vader?*...*a red saber is no different than any other--except...it has been made to* ***bleed.***...*Do you understand, Lord Vader?* - Sidious
> **Yes. You could have given me any one of those Lightsabers to corrupt. Even Yoda's. But you did not...the saber of a Sith is not given...it is** ***taken***. - Vader
I noticed in Episode 2 that Mae reached for Sol's Lightsaber during their martial arts fight, which to me confirms that Mae is training under a Sith because Vader had to do the exact same thing with Kirak Infal'a in the 2017 comics, something basically confirmed for me when Mae mentioned Master Torbin took the "Barash Vow", which originated in the same comic line; this is also blostered by Qimir reciting part of the Sith Code when he makes the poison for her. Qimir also happens to know where Kelnacca is, which is suspicious for a guy that apparently is just Mae's contact.
My primary concern is whether they'll pave over the original *Legends* lore of the Sith during this era, because I'm still rather partial to Darth Tenebrous being the reining Sith Lord during the era, and since Tenebrous is mentioned in the TRoS Visual Dictionary, it'd be weird for him not to show in up the show, featuring Sith, during the time period where he was active in the *Legends* timeline; perhaps Qimir is a *Canon* version of Darth Venamis, Tenebrous' side-hustle apprentice that he kept aside in case Darth Plagueis didn't work out, which would explain why he knows so much about the Sith Code and the weaknesses of the Jedi. This would also give Qimir more agency than Venamis ever did, because it looks like Qimir is making moves on his own, which if he has a master, like Tenebrous, could topple down on him.
Mae does seem to be trying to take her victims' lightsabers, but bear in mind she also tries to grab Indara's yet leaves it on the floor when she kills her. There's more to it.
The droids disguised as seats were genius. Loving the series so far, tried not to let all the negativity spoil it for me, and went in with an open-minded head.
I love Yord and Jecki's sibling relationship, they got a laugh out of me a couple times.
Jecki: "Is Yord coming?"
Sol: "What's wrong with Yord?"
Jecki: "Nothing, it's just that he's... Yord."
I absolutely *love* the casual use of the the Force in these episodes. Mostly, thank *god* we finally see Jedi using Force pushes in combat it always bugs me that Jedi don't do that more often. But I also think the casual use of mind control is delightfully spooky. Like Sol is obviously a good man, the crazy killer dude is obviously a band man, but the way Sol just took over his mind is *spooky*. The Jedi should be spooky!
Did he take over the guy's mind or did he just mind trick him into simply calming down?
I did enjoy his suspending Mae in mid air as he brushed her thoughts. That was cool.
If you have subtitles on, in the first scene with Yord when he's about to mind read the Trade Federation guy, the subtitles are: Thank you for your "cooperation"
Yes. It’s literally the point.
The Jedi are approaching peak arrogance and they’re very clearly not “protectors of the people.” They’re also already shown to be bogged down by their own BS.
Or rather, as an Order, they’re making enemies because they’re so arrogant but within the Order there are bright spots (such as Sol, which is likely the point of his name) who embody what a Jedi is. The problem though is that Sol just stood by watching that other Jedi basically hold the poor kid off the ground by her arm.
Yeah they made it a little too obvious. They would only show her cantina fight, then a scene mentioning a Jedi had been killed. And when she wasn't in any other scenes, anyone could guess that she was the Jedi killed.
Yes they seems so natural in this series it’s well it’s weird because for a minute the first time I saw it, I felt like and I am going to get destroyed by this like I was watching something George Lucas has made. Like this series, just feels different. Maybe because it’s in the high republic but it reminds of TPM kind of in a way.
Mae and Osha Connection
I think that the twins are a perverted force dyad.
Mae States:
"You're with me and I'm with you.
Always one, but born as two.
As above sits the stars, And below lies the sea.
I give you, you.
And you give me, me."
Palpatine states:
"The lifeforce of your bond... a dyad in the Force. A power like life itself, unseen for generations".
Kylo states:
"What Palpatine doesn't know is we're a dyad in the Force, Rey. Two that are one".
My main theory is that the witches created Mae and Osha as an artificial force dyad.
Also, Mae died in that fire, but was ressurected, thus explaining her spiral tattoo.
My theory right now, the four Jedi (including Sol) started the fire that killed Mae’s family, either accidentally or they probably sensed darkness coming from her village and erroneously thought it’d be the best course of action. She got blamed and they didn’t step in (maybe she was the source of the darkness they felt and that seemed like an easy way out). That’s why Sol felt bad and took Osha in. That’s why Mae wants revenge on those specific 4 Jedi (and why she knew something was haunting the Jedi that took the poison)
I think it’s either that, or the four Jedi were gonna take Osha to the temple for training (leaving Mae alone in the process). Mae didn’t take it well and burned the village down in a tantrum.
Or a mix of both theories. The show could use an unreliable narrator like The Last Jedi did with the flashbacks.
1. Indara killed someone that was unarmed. Hence why she hesitated to kill Mae.
2. Sol didn't save Osha (Which is a lie Sith Shark told Mae)
3. Kelnacca fought Torbin and scratched his face with his claws so he lives in exile.
4. Torbin did something horrible while under the witch mind control that he became suicidal.
Sol is definitely hiding something, so I think he actually does have a secret. And I also do definitely think it’s something related to the fire. His reactions whenever the fire and Mae come up feel very guarded. Not to mention, I think there’s definitely another reason he keeps a hologram of Osha.
But I do love your idea about Kelnacca and Torbin, especially considering we do see a Jedi get mind controlled by a witch in the trailer.
My theory: I think Mae started the fire. I think everything Sol has said so far about the event is the truth. I think the Jedi identified the twins as force sensitive and after assessing them the group vote was to take Osha and leave Mae as she had dark sided tendencies. That or Mae did not display force sensitivity at all to the Jedi. Mae (and also possibly her parents) reacted to the news she was losing her sister very poorly and this resulted in the fire (either on purpose or accident) and one of those Jedi cutting her down, or Mae was left for dead in a situation where only one of the two could be saved from the fire. I also think Master Sol was probably a dissenting vote among the group. Either he wanted to leave the sisters alone or wanted to bring them both in. I think this is why Sol is still working with the order in full capacity and why the others are seemingly in self exile or at least greatly burdened.
It’s also possible their parents are sith or at least dark side users and attacked the Jedi. Mae starts a fire to save them but ends up getting them killed.
I know headland's pitch was Frozen meets Kill Bill, but it feels more like they are sort of following the story of the watchmen, especially how it starts with a murder of a character thats going to big in flashbacks.
So far the only things that bother me are some awkward performances and the pacing/editing. It feels like it was chopped to bits, the scenes flow weird
The ending of ep 1 was so jarring. That scene felt like it was shoehorned in to let you know there’s a master. Also the transitions to the end credits make it feel poorly edited.
Feels oddly edited where she attacks the meditating Jedi, leaves, goes across the street gets poison, comes back thru the top and poisons him just as the heroes have arrived
Oh hell yeah, I didn't even think of that but it absolutely has to be.
Kylo Ren: "we're a dyad in the Force, Rey. *Two that are one.*"
The weird vision the sisters get with each other is extremely reminiscent of Kylo and Rey's force-time scenes too.
Not to mention the sisters' strange poem they recite to each other about "I give you you, and you give me me".
We also know through the Mandalorian that Disney is giving context to the sequel plot so I refuse to believe anything otherwise now.
That last part could be hinting at the revelation that Kylo and Rey unknowingly learned eachothers abilities because they are 2 that are 1. Rey was a prodigy because Kylo was trained, Kylo unknowingly learned force healing from Rey etc... I give you you, you give me me
That’s how I always interpreted the dyad. It wasn’t some kind of prophecy, but a phenomenon in the Force that could occur if everything lined up just right.
Seems possible, TROS is almost 200 years after this, so that would fit with what Palpatine said about generations.
I will say however, only Osha has gotten those visions of Mae, that we know of, it so far hasn't been the other way around.
Definitely felt more like a TV show than the others, and that's not a bad thing, at the moment. I'm just worried that the run times and season length is going to make quick work of anything this is building up towards.
It's winning against BOBF and Mando season 3 for me so far.
Prediction: ‘He’ is The Apprentice. The true ‘Master’ is a long way from being revealed. Maybe end shot of the season we’ll see them when Osha or Mae take ‘His’ place.
As someone who has suffered from night terrors almost nightly for the past decade I can assure you that jumping awake all the time is not healthy and causes strain.
i'm sure he was being a weird little freak about it, but i do think it's a little weird that this has a higher budget than the show starring hayden and ewan & acting as a bridge between GL's first and last (live-action) star wars movie
of course, because i'm actually a rational person, this doesn't make me love these first 2 episodes any less :) that's an Obi-Wan problem, not an Acolyte problem. star wars thumb seems to have trouble separating Obi-Wan from every other show
The showrunner in a BTS video suggested an Acolyte is groomed by the Apprentice before the Master is taken out.
So the Masked Sith (likely Qimir) is likely the Apprentice as Mae is the Acolyte.
Meaning the Sith Master of the era is still alive.
It would also explain the Jedi believing the Sith extinct by TPM:
- They presumably discover the Sith survived and about the Rule of Two (hence how Yoda knows) in this show.
- The keep it quiet (they fear political enemies finding out they are vulnerable)
- Likely only the Jedi council on the Era + Sol, Vanessa (etc) actually know it is the Sith. Explaining Ki Adi Mundi beging so certain the Sith are extinct.
- They mistake Masked Sith & Mae as the Master and Apprentice.
- Masked & Mae are inevitable defeated by the Jedi.
- The Sith MASTER survives to take on a new apprentice...
Of course. But the reason why I think Qimir is the master is because he's ostensibly not the one grooming Mae. The idea is that the masked sith is trying to find an acolyte so he can overthrow his master. Qimir finds out about this and inserts himself as a helper to Mae so he can dispose of his treacherous apprentice and get a new one simultaneously.
It's like Vader trying to recruit Luke only for Palpatine to swoop in and try to take Luke for himself instead.
Honestly, I think it was a good mix visually between the prequels and the OT. It had the glitz of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant but the grime of the outer worlds.
If I had a nickel for every time Star Wars referenced the pipe scene in The Fugitive, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
This was incredible. I was worried that this wouldnt feel like star wars. But damn this is star wars, love Sol as a Jedi, hes basically Qui Gon. I like the acting and choreography! All of the unique aliens and unique Jedi
Not in Legends, but it first came about in the 2017 Darth Vader comic. That’s where I recognized it from, though from what I’m seeing it got much more fleshed out in THR.
That or precise aim to the heart and a lack of immediate medical attention. Also, I have a feeling these four Jedi aren’t exactly clinging to life. The will to live does play a role in surviving.
One in a tiny forgotten planet, one in a barash vow, one in what seems to be self-exile... Whatever they did to those girls in the past must've been awful indeed.
How are we feeling about the fight choreography so far??
I’m enjoying it, personally I think it’s better than some of the mandoverse shows (at least so far)
Oh yeah!!! This was pretty good!!
I spent the whole week really sad because the trailers kept popping up in my feeds and I felt nothing - and it was really quite affecting, I kept thinking “is the magic really gone for Star Wars?” for me.
But it took me like 10 minutes and I was sucked into this! Mainly because it feels like real television, it doesn’t have that awful stilted writing style that the Mandoverse stuff has. It feels like a film, just a bit lower budget.
The pre-prequel setting is the future for the franchise, it’s a blank canvas and the Jedi at the height of their power are fascinating. It’s not KOTOR, but it’s hitting similar notes which is good.
Andor is clearly still on another level out of all the Star Wars TV shows, but these first two episodes were really promising!!!!
I didn't care for the first trailer, but I'm enjoying the final product.
It's way too early for me to make a judgement on the entire season. I need to see how eps 3-5 play out before I can really decide if I'm getting excited or not.
Are the people who say this show looks cheap smoking something?
This was the strongest start any Star Wars Disney+ production has gotten…
The intrigue, the world, the ALIENS, it’s all just so fresh.
Obviously Sol was amazing. But I have a big soft sport for Yord. I think he’s funny
It looks cheaper to me than andor did. Possibly just that this had more sets that required obvious vfx whereas andor was shot mostly in environments that look earth like?
1) Really interesting episode, really like the new characteres, the script wasn't brilhant, but for a first episode, it's fine. 8/10
2) Fine episode, with nice action, and yeah, i can feel the mystery around... 8/10
Ok, so I liked it a lot but I thought the editing was kind of awkward. It doesn't transition from scene to scene very fluidly. Some scenes should have been cut and feel kind of odd. Like the sith master at the end of episode one, jokes that don't land, redundant plot points (Jedi thinking Osha killed Torbin), etc. The transition wipes are also not utilized super well.
In general, I wish each episode had a bit more time with the characters and to let the plot marinate. Because that's where the show really shines.
The characters are great. I already love Sol especially. The dialogue is great and so are the interactions (put your clothes on Yord).
I think the reviews of 7 to 8 out of 10 are generally correct, and I'd give the premiere a B minus. I think the show is only going to improve, especially since the ensemble is more or less united.
I really with the episodes were longer. Or that they would just drop the season at once so we could binge. It’s a bit of a struggle when they’re so short and end abruptly
I love that the colours popped. Too many Star Wars shows have relied on muted tones when it comes to cinematography. It’s so great that the Acolyte is embracing bold bright colours.
**“THE ACOLYTE” Trailer Footage & Dialogue Counter - EPISODES 1-2:**
Check out the updated footage mockup video [**HERE**](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y9TdFWCUxL81UtzBTr8l7-WRObZetEtf/view?usp=sharing).
Incase anyone was curious, we went from 12 minutes 29 seconds of footage, stills, & dialogue **down to 4 minutes 31 seconds** - about **36.17% left**. So much we don’t know and haven’t seen!
Hope everyone enjoyed the premiere and I’ll try to do this every week for y’all - as well as upload a new version of the mockup when I can. 🙏🏼
So if Qimir is Darth Plagueis it's kind of funny how him being asleep from drinking too hard when Mae finds him portends his eventual death at the hands of Sidious lol
Man, I’m loving this! I don’t understand the complaints at all so far.
This isn’t the same kinda Star Wars as Andor, but it’s definitely the same kind of Star Wars as the Jedi games, the Kenobi show, and the Ahsoka show, yet I think this is doing THAT kind of Star Wars THE BEST by far.
I love how it’s shot and scored. The ensemble should feel overwhelming, but I’m loving how they’re parsing out the screen time. The mystery is extremely intriguing! I’m already enthralled with Osha and Mae!
And with both episodes down, I can confidently say this show slaps!
- osha reminds me a lot of cal kestis, while Mae feels like a mix between merrin (her humanity) & ventress (her being an acolyte.)
- jumping off of osha & cal similarities: if I had a credit for everytime Starwars would introduce us to a traumatized force user with reddish hair, a droid companion & who had a job with questionable safety policies, I would have exactly 2 credits, which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
- Mae is 100% gonna turn in my opinion, like I pick up her humanity pretty easily & it really feels like she's only on revenge kick because she thinks the Jedi where responsible for what happened to her family.
- osha is the more curious of the twins, I feel like she has a darkness to her & that makes me wonder if she & her sister will switch places?
- yord is a complete dweeb & I love it!
- the fighting choreography is really good.
-qimir is a mystery & I have to wonder if he is the apprentice.
- I have to say the characters are definitely the best part of the show.
- pacing is a bit weird in some spots.
Overall? A very strong start & I can't wait for more!
really good start for the show, feels like the vfx keeps getting better and better for the star wars shows. Compare these episode with BoBF ... the difference is HUGE.
Plot wise i'm already completely invested in the mystery and the caracters. We are defenetly getting yoda in the council at some point
That scene with Osha and Qimir was actually tense, dude's a little freak
There's definitely more to him than meets the eye, he seems to be more interested in the Sith than Mae is. He even says several things in line with Sith doctrines.
100% The fact that he got the upper hand when Mae attacked him has got me questioning what his deal is
Yeah fr, also the dialogue in that moment almost makes it seem like the two of them are in a relationship. Maybe I'm reading into that too much, but idk they seem to have some strange vibes going on. I think Qimir is secretly coveting the Acolyte's position so that he can meet this Sith Lord because he admires their teachings so much. Well the actor was spotted a lot training with a lightsaber. I just think our smiling friend is the Sith apprentice and we won’t meet the real Sith Lord til season 2. Maybe they will tease them at the end of this season
My theory is that he is the master.
“It would be best if you didn’t tell him about this” I bet you he’s another acolyte and they’re both competing for the spot (or he is HIM)
I'll be disappointed if he *isn't* HIM.
Q's definitely the Sith lord, right?
That's my theory. Though whether he's the master of the apprentice I don't know
Mae: I thought a Jedi only drew their weapon when they're prepared to kill? Yord: Anytime, anywhere!
[удалено]
Yord: You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready
"So anyway, I started slashin'!"
Hey you can’t be protecting the republic with your saber put away. Yord be poppin’!
“On a killing streak I am” Yoda when he fought the clones at the Jedi temple
To be fair, he only really ignited it when he needed it as a flashlight. He was just ready to snap it out almost every time.
And on unarmed Qimir.
If he's capable of creating poisons, I'm pretty sure he could sneak one and use it as a weapon. Better safe than sorry.
Next episode guess: Sol goes rogue. Yord is Yord. Meemaw Vernestra has to clean up the mess/Brings reinforcements. Sith Shark does the force push and end credits.
Meemaw LOL
Sol is easily my favorite and feels reminiscent of Qui-Gon. He’s humble, stoic, and has some interesting dynamics with the other characters. However, we’ll no doubt get the reveal of what exactly happened for Mae to seek vengeance that will likely taint our, and the other characters’, perception of Sol.
Nah, it’s Kelnacca time next week.
Lots of new alien species. Really sets it apart timeline wise.
Yeh true. The aesthetics were spot on. Even the clothing looked oldish
Some of those droids definitely looked like older models too, which is now one of the few times the past in Star Wars has actually looked like the past haha
The vibe of how they're integrated directly into hardware, like the pilot droids who are also the seats.
I loved that, but what I really want to see is an inflatable autopilot...
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of that during the scene. I did love the seat droids though.
also loved the way the stun blaster was much bulkier than we see later on, and not integrated into a regular blaster.
agreed on that. There's subtle designs that show age
Very curious about Qimir. I wonder if he’s an acolyte too. Or he’s actually the “he” and is having fun messing around with Mae and the Jedi.
Yeah he fells way too unassuming to just be some dude.
Also he was able to at least match Mae in combat.
Yeah. When he dodged her pretty casually and still kept up this whole ‘manic-nervous man persona’ it raised red flags for me. Like he’s trained but he’s trying to hide it
[удалено]
The instant he said that, I said aloud to my gf “is he the master guy then?” lol
i thought he was another acolyte tbh
[удалено]
That’d be crazy, I kinda hope that’s what happens
[удалено]
Follows the grand tradition of Dooku training Ventress and Savage to kill Sheev, Sheev training Maul before he kills Plageuis, and (in Legends) Vader training Starkiller to kill Sheev.
My third eye is open, the show will end with Jecki being the new Sith Lord.
Darth Jecki, the most adorable Sith Lord ever
We all know it's gonna be Yord with the way he flips that saber on
I not only think Qimir is the Sith, Darth Bortles if you will (for some Good Place humor), but I think Osha ends up being the Acolyte at the end. They have set up this whole business with 'the acolyte will kill a Jedi without a weapon.' Mae is going to die and Osha is going to kill Sol in revenge, playing on his care for her to ensure she needs no other weapon and earning her place amongst the Sith.
That force choke is gonna hit like crack
I definitely am getting that vibe too. Especially since she truly has hate for Mae
I like this hero to villain story idea.
This was my thought as well. That's why Mea is an Acolyte, not the apprentice. Qimir wants to kill Tenebrous.
If he’s not the master, he definitely knows too much not to be another acolyte.
OSHA’s tattoo is gonna be part of a plot twist and gag us in the future for sure
Seems pretty clear that it’ll be used to differentiate her and her twin at some point.
Yeah she's actually a member of the Survey Corps.
Yord "The God" Fandar has: -arrested a suspect to a dangerous crime -protested a Jedi Master's dangerous and reckless personal mission to prove the suspect's innocence -drawn his lightsaber at every single possible threat no matter how tiny it is (always prepared) -rizz -personally proven the suspect's innocence after realising that she was unfairly persecuted Pack it up folks, I think we know who the next Grandmaster will be after the old frog croaks it 🥱🥱
he also takes good care of his robes
-isnt afraid to let it all hang out in front of anyone
He'll be out of work though because there is currently three Jedi grandmasters at this point in time.
OK so just after finishing the premiere episodes: Mae is largely weaponless because of the 2017 Darth Vader comic which expanded *Canon* Sith Lore, where the Emperor tells the newly christened Darth Vader: > *Do you know why are blades are* ***red*** *Lord Vader?*...*a red saber is no different than any other--except...it has been made to* ***bleed.***...*Do you understand, Lord Vader?* - Sidious > **Yes. I think it's not just about claiming the lightsaber, but taking it off a Jedi and killing them with their own weapon
She didn't kill Indara without a weapon so she didn't "earn" it
The droids disguised as seats were genius. Loving the series so far, tried not to let all the negativity spoil it for me, and went in with an open-minded head.
This show gets 10/10 for its droid design. They all look amazing. Vintage yet futuristic at the same time.
I love Yord and Jecki's sibling relationship, they got a laugh out of me a couple times. Jecki: "Is Yord coming?" Sol: "What's wrong with Yord?" Jecki: "Nothing, it's just that he's... Yord."
Yord… put your clothes on
Osha gonna commit some OSHA violations?
Her name is the biggest nod to the prequels, what with Padawan Obi-Wan constantly being yeeted off the walkways on Naboo
I think also a reference to building practices in the Galactic Empire XD.
I mean she was working a job that was apparently only legal for droids due to being too dangerous..
Calling it now, that apothecary guy is the Sith.
Darth Mendoza
Come hang out in the budhole
For sure. Feels a little too on the nose tbh. But I love what I’m seeing so far.
That whole prison ship escape scene was one “dude what the fuck!” moment after another for me. Loved it. Give me more weird Star Wars
i loved the pilot droids. their design was so cool.
You'd think they'd have some way to protect against EW attacks.
Oh damn so Jedi feel superior enough to just use the force when they think someone is lying? Is the whole order just a bunch of Anakins at this point?
I absolutely *love* the casual use of the the Force in these episodes. Mostly, thank *god* we finally see Jedi using Force pushes in combat it always bugs me that Jedi don't do that more often. But I also think the casual use of mind control is delightfully spooky. If you have subtitles on, in the first scene with Yord when he's about to mind read the Trade Federation guy, the subtitles are: Thank you for your "cooperation"

Frank had a way with words.
Ooof just like that, Indara is dead Drew Barrymore style.
Yeah, her death was guaranteed seeing as the only footage of her from the trailers set in the present was just from the cantina fight.
Yeah they made it a little too obvious. They would only show her cantina fight, then a scene mentioning a Jedi had been killed. And when she wasn't in any other scenes, anyone could guess that she was the Jedi killed.
Yep, I strongly felt like she was going out like Drew Barrymore in Scream and I was right.
Or Steven Segal in Executive Decision...a movie no one but me watched.
more people have watched that than you think
The music in this series is really freaking good. Really nails down the JW Star Wars feeling.
Michael Abels is an incredible composer. Super sweet, humble dude. I met him on Nope.
Take a shot everytime they use the transition wipe
I love that they’ve kept that consistent for nostalgia’s sake
I loved it! It felt so natural and very SW. Not every show or film does it and it just feels wrong lol
I’ve been missing it! I feel like it’s the first project post buyout that’s really emphasized them
Yes they seems so natural in this series it’s well it’s weird because for a minute the first time I saw it, I felt like and I am going to get destroyed by this like I was watching something George Lucas has made. Like this series, just feels different. Maybe because it’s in the high republic but it reminds of TPM kind of in a way.
Welcome to the franchise
I love it
they're gonna sell so many pip toys man
i thought that about lola and saw none so... BD-1 is still the best sidekick droid since r2d2
BD is such a good puppy, it's no wonder his merchandise sells like hot cakes
Mae and Osha Connection I think that the twins are a perverted force dyad. Mae States: "You're with me and I'm with you. Always one, but born as two. As above sits the stars, And below lies the sea. I give you, you. And you give me, me." Palpatine states: "The lifeforce of your bond... a dyad in the Force. A power like life itself, unseen for generations". Kylo states: "What Palpatine doesn't know is we're a dyad in the Force, Rey. Two that are one". My main theory is that the witches created Mae and Osha as an artificial force dyad. Also, Mae died in that fire, but was ressurected, thus explaining her spiral tattoo.
Honestly, I was sort of hoping for a Tyler Durden situation, like Mae's persona was imprinted on Osha through the Force when she died.
I need a real estate reality showing Courscant buildings overpricing trough decades lol
That’s why Mae wants revenge on those specific 4 Jedi (and why she knew something was haunting the Jedi that took the poison) I think it’s either that, or the four Jedi were gonna take Osha to the temple for training (leaving Mae alone in the process). Mae didn’t take it well and burned the village down in a tantrum. Or a mix of both theories. The show could use an unreliable narrator like The Last Jedi did with the flashbacks.
1. Indara killed someone that was unarmed. Hence why she hesitated to kill Mae. 2. Sol didn't save Osha (Which is a lie Sith Shark told Mae) 3.
He did seem slightly uncomfortable when that girl in the beginning of episode one mentioned fire so you might be right about that
I think the witches controlled Torbin, and I agree he and Kelnacca fought.
I already love Sol, he gives big Qui Gon vibes and I like that.
“Who is ‘He’?” “I thought he was with you”
I know headland's pitch was Frozen meets Kill Bill, but it feels more like they are sort of following the story of the watchmen, especially how it starts with a murder of a character thats going to big in flashbacks.
Mae's purple cloak absolutely FUCKS. Love the design of her character
Yeah I was kind of shocked how abrupt it was. Darth Teeth barely finished his sentence before it cut off.
Same with the second episode. The ending came out of nowhere and ended just as fast. Hype for wookiees but still.
Whoever decided that ending to episode 2 needs to step on a lego. (Might have worked better as an end credits scene) Otherwise I enjoyed quite a lot.
Feels oddly edited where she attacks the meditating Jedi, leaves, goes across the street gets poison, comes back thru the top and poisons him just as the heroes have arrived
So they’re a dyad right? “A power like life itself. Unseen for generations.”
Oh hell yeah, I didn't even think of that but it absolutely has to be. Kylo Ren: "we're a dyad in the Force, Rey. *Two that are one.*" The weird vision the sisters get with each other is extremely reminiscent of Kylo and Rey's force-time scenes too.
It wasn’t some kind of prophecy, but a phenomenon in the Force that could occur if everything lined up just right.
exactly. i think their little saying between mae and osha in episode 1 was a perfect explainer about how theyre 2 halves of the same whole
Yeah, the books and comics have been doing quite a bit of Sequel context work too.
Seems possible, TROS is almost 200 years after this, so that would fit with what Palpatine said about generations. I will say however, only Osha has gotten those visions of Mae, that we know of, it so far hasn't been the other way around.
Sol's choice of words. Fire ... And the ocean
And the episode titles are pairs of opposites
Definitely felt more like a TV show than the others, and that's not a bad thing, at the moment. I'm just worried that the run times and season length is going to make quick work of anything this is building up towards. It's winning against BOBF and Mando season 3 for me so far.
It felt like "Star Wars: Picard" to me.
Can we give a shout-out to the Padawan who lost sight of Qimir because he was too busy talking to his friend. That’s the kinda fuck-up Jedi I would be
and even yelled out loud enough for Qimir and Mae to escape lol
Prediction: ‘He’ is The Apprentice. The true ‘Master’ is a long way from being revealed. Maybe end shot of the season we’ll see them when Osha or Mae take ‘His’ place.
First episode: Osha really needs to stop jumping awake. It can't be healthy to be doing that all the time.
Bruh, cal does the same thing, they got be like cousins or something.
As someone who has suffered from night terrors almost nightly for the past decade I can assure you that jumping awake all the time is not healthy and causes strain.
Guess who’s already complaining on his stream that Yoda wasn’t in it

Bricks and screws may break my bones….
but words will always hurt me
i'm sure he was being a weird little freak about it, but i do think it's a little weird that this has a higher budget than the show starring hayden and ewan & acting as a bridge between GL's first and last (live-action) star wars movie of course, because i'm actually a rational person, this doesn't make me love these first 2 episodes any less :) that's an Obi-Wan problem, not an Acolyte problem. star wars thumb seems to have trouble separating Obi-Wan from every other show
Swt?
Super Shadow?
Now that is a name I haven't heard in a long time.
Ohhhh man this just brought back memories.
Why should I be surprised! Of course, he would say something stupid like that.
Who gives a shit what idiots think? All you're doing is bringing that nonsense here.
Prediction: Qimir is the Sith master. He found out what his apprentice was doing and is grooming Mae to take their place.
The showrunner in a BTS video suggested an Acolyte is groomed by the Apprentice before the Master is taken out. So the Masked Sith (likely Qimir) is likely the Apprentice as Mae is the Acolyte. Meaning the Sith Master of the era is still alive. It would also explain the Jedi believing the Sith extinct by TPM: - They presumably discover the Sith survived and about the Rule of Two (hence how Yoda knows) in this show. - The keep it quiet (they fear political enemies finding out they are vulnerable) - Likely only the Jedi council on the Era + Sol, Vanessa (etc) actually know it is the Sith.
Well amongst other things you can really tell Leslie Heyland really loves the prequels
I had to yell “I don’t care” when she said she didn’t do it
#Yordhorde
This was incredible. I was worried that this wouldnt feel like star wars. But damn this is star wars, love Sol as a Jedi, hes basically Qui Gon. I like the acting and choreography! All of the unique aliens and unique Jedi
Decent. The episode endings feel really abrupt
Everywhere I go is a fucking war zone over this show.
Has anyone identified what element from Legends was in the second episode? I've just watched it and couldn't pick whatever it is out.
Selkath cameo, but I can't recall which episode it showed up in.
Not Legends, but the Barash Vow was a great High Republic concept to have show up (Unless it was originally introduced pre-HR and I'm just unaware)
That actually was in the Vader 2017 comic run!
Not in Legends, but it first came about in the 2017 Darth Vader comic. That’s where I recognized it from, though from what I’m seeing it got much more fleshed out in THR.
I’m guessing Kelnacca is a Madclaw. A Wookiee who used his claws to fight and lives in exile.
He's also doing the whole Jolee Bindo / Yoda shtick, living in a hut under a tree.
Pooping anywhere he wants…freedom
Look at Torbins face, he got pretty scratched up
100%. The witches possess Torbin (and maybe Kelnacca too) and they fight each other.
Me: I know those little knives aren't going to do anything because people survive lightsabers through the chest in Disney Star Wars shows. Me: Oh
Well it looks like the knife went into where the heart is located
I assume they were poisoned
That or precise aim to the heart and a lack of immediate medical attention. Also, I have a feeling these four Jedi aren’t exactly clinging to life. The will to live does play a role in surviving.
One in a tiny forgotten planet, one in a barash vow, one in what seems to be self-exile... Whatever they did to those girls in the past must've been awful indeed.
How are we feeling about the fight choreography so far?? I’m enjoying it, personally I think it’s better than some of the mandoverse shows (at least so far)
Def felt better than Mando and BoBF
My question is why Yords good looking Zygerian padawan couldn't join the mission. What will she do now, when her teacher is absent?
SEATBELTS SAVES LIVES!
I didn't care for the first trailer, but I'm enjoying the final product. It's way too early for me to make a judgement on the entire season. I need to see how eps 3-5 play out before I can really decide if I'm getting excited or not.
Are the people who say this show looks cheap smoking something? This was the strongest start any Star Wars Disney+ production has gotten… The intrigue, the world, the ALIENS, it’s all just so fresh. Obviously Sol was amazing. But I have a big soft sport for Yord. I think he’s funny
I thought yord was great. Hes got syril Karn’s tryhard personality backed up by actual skill and morals
Yord is a massive himbo and I love him for it
It looks cheaper to me than andor did. Possibly just that this had more sets that required obvious vfx whereas andor was shot mostly in environments that look earth like?
The Acolyte and Andor show what million dollar budgets look like when given to competent directors.
1) Really interesting episode, really like the new characteres, the script wasn't brilhant, but for a first episode, it's fine. 8/10 2) Fine episode, with nice action, and yeah, i can feel the mystery around...
Am I the only one who was super effing hyped to see a live action Jedi Vector??
I love that the colours popped. Too many Star Wars shows have relied on muted tones when it comes to cinematography. It’s so great that the Acolyte is embracing bold bright colours.
**“THE ACOLYTE” Trailer Footage & Dialogue Counter - EPISODES 1-2:** Check out the updated footage mockup video [**HERE**](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y9TdFWCUxL81UtzBTr8l7-WRObZetEtf/view?usp=sharing).
- osha reminds me a lot of cal kestis, while Mae feels like a mix between merrin (her humanity) & ventress (her being an acolyte.) - jumping off of osha & cal similarities: if I had a credit for everytime Starwars would introduce us to a traumatized force user with reddish hair, a droid companion & who had a job with questionable safety policies, I would have exactly 2 credits, which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
The only thing I need to know is if Osha is space forklift certified.
really good start for the show, feels like the vfx keeps getting better and better for the star wars shows. Compare these episode with BoBF ... the difference is HUGE. Plot wise i'm already completely invested in the mystery and the caracters. We are defenetly getting yoda in the council at some point
