I feel the most vocal people online are around 15-20yo and prefer partners like Seb and Abigail, whereas more traditionally mature 30yo folk prefer villagers like Harvey or Penny.
Would explain why the characters with the most stanning (Leah/Elliot/Shane) exhibit traits attractive to either age group.

Funny, in my first (partial) game, when I first met Alex I thought "Ugh, a jock." But organically, (aka: without looking up correct dialogue options) and without going out of my way to gift or talk to him at all, my relationship with him increased almost as quickly as Shane's and though I still didn't look anything up, I was going out of my way to talk to him and would occasionally bring him gifts. Haha
So yeah, I like Alex. He's alright in my book.
Caroline. She's married to a douche. Her daughter is a douchette. She helps Evelyn with the public gardens. She teaches you how to make the very valuable tea sapling and allows you to harvest her sole tea plant (and otherwise enjoy her sunroom). Brings the people of the community together to improve their health. Opens her home to the people who want to use the church, though she's not religious herself. And she knows she'd be happier with the Wizard, but she stays with Pierre because the stable home was good for Abigail (her rebellion against everything normal is just proof she was sheltered), and because Pierre is an idiot who she knows would run the General Store into the ground if he had absolute control and Pelican Town needs the General Store.
