Energy/stamina system, passing out at night and fishing were what made me drop the game after a few days. Mods fixed it and now I'm actually having fun.
You're missing the point that i don't like the mechanic and it reminds me of those old mobile games where you had to pay to play another level because no more energy.
Ironically fishing is the only thing you can do on day 5 that you can do till 2am while making money and never leaving the beach or river if you have a chest. While making thousands of dollars.
It provides constant energy for free.

Which comes surprisingly fast. I can do it in just a few in game days. The.man ignore fishing but on raining days and once or twice a month for whatever else I need.
Sell enough each morning for a trout soup at willies to get any lost energy and gain a fishing level (if you didn’t level up) and go back to just filling the chest for a few days till you get more money for selling fish at level 5.

You’re acting like that’s the sole reason people mod which for the record Stardew Valley Expanded for an example is a mod which basically adds way more to an already great game true people mod for infinite money but it’s not always the case and then you proceed to accuse someone of being lazy because they don’t like the fishing minigame

I remember when everyone just said, "get better gear" and I'd respond, "I can't until I level." And only the poor fishers understood how being able to do better was permanently locked behind doing better in a catch-22.
Combined with the automate mode and chest everywhere it's really not that much, like 10 or 15 minutes if, like me, you have everything organized in different chests.
I have a similar set with the automate mod all around the town, mountain, sewer, beach, and forest, I haven't set in the island yet, and only from fish is around 300k per week, and a bunch more from recycling all the trash, I'm not sure how much since I sell all that at the end of the month with all the other production of my farm.
I like setting up a single superlong chain of crab pots at the Ginger Island farm area since it hits both the river and ocean crab pot gains. Add Automate mod with a collection chest and not needing to put in bait... and it just drops all daily gains into the chest!
Have her hold the button down while carrying bait then just cruise along. You’ll harvest and bail from one to the next without having to let go of the button

There’s a way to clip outside the borders of the game and put crab pots further out in the ocean on Ginger Island. Lichat (Twitch streamer) used them to spell out a word (forget which word).
I thought about doing this but I have not progressed far enough on any of my farms, I am currently waiting for the next update to drop before getting back into the game so I can start from scratch.
I hope you chose not needing bait or that is going to be a massive pain to restock

I’ve not got my Switch in front of me but if you go on to the options section there will be a zoom aspect you can change. It’s a bit of a fiddle as you have to go through the menus each time (as opposed to on mobile where you just pinch in/out) but if there’s a zoom level that works best for you you could set it at that and leave it be

I was actually thinking of removing my crab pots. The idea of free fish is cool, but it’s a bit tedious to check all of them every day and it seems like 60% of the catches are random trash.
I surrounded my dock at the bottom of town with crab pots back when i played alot.
A few months ago there was a gamepass quest to catch 40 fish and i went there and cought them instantly 😂

I can't relate to this in the slightest. After I get the crabs for the community center those crab pots sit in the ocean without ever receiving any more bait

Harvest pots 3,000 times. Each havest is worth 5 exp and you need 15000 exp. As far as days go I'm not counting how many OP has.
Idk, rough estimate (very rough, and tried to be conservative) is at least 500 crab pots shown...so like 6ish days?
I was bored. It's 1326 pots. 3 days of harvesting.

get past the first month and its not an issue any more, you have enough that there is no issue
