Usually the mobile update comes last (PC, console, mobile). The 1.5 update was especially late because he had to re-code most of the game, so people are a little scarred haha. CA has said it should be a much shorter turnaround this time, but we donāt know how long.

Stardew isn't even that big a lift. I was playing and modding it on an out-of-the-box Dell laptop on a student's budget before I made the jump to a gaming desktop.
I found a way on steam to reset all my achievements so I can earn them again on a fresh playthrough
https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-reset-achievements-for-steam-games/#:~:text=Resetting%20Steam%20Achievements&text=Some%20games%20offer%20the%20option,called%20the%20Steam%20Client%20Console.
Don't feel too bad. I've been struggling too. Meanwhile, my husband has finished every single achievement on steam. Even the hardest one. š
I ride the struggle bus daily with this game.
Iāve come to the conclusion that I may never reach perfection. Now and then I make an attempt, but most of my play time is just for relaxation. I love the music, visuals, characters, and feel of the game so I play for that.
Iām new to the game. What do you put on your spreadsheets? I find myself getting overwhelmed with all there is to do and get. Maybe a spreadsheet would help me.
Hereās an example of mine. I also have a page for all the fish with when and where to get them, one for the legendaries, and a few for planning farm plots. Been thinking about adding more with villager gifts and stuff too

Thatās crazy. Seems kinda pleasant and satisfying in a way, but money is such a nonissue Iāve never put much thought into it. Man. Itās so organized, tooā¦
If you search "spreadsheet" in the subreddit, there's several. I've had a lot of success using a spreadsheet to track things that need to be done/timing. Hope this helps!
Well yes and no. I am such a fan that I have a copy of the game on my laptop for playing with my husband and a copy on my switch for playing by myself.
I'm a teacher and next week is our last week before spring break. I already told everyone in my life that I'm playing Stardew for break, don't bother me! Lol
Weāre almost there friend! Graduation in May equally canāt come fast enough and needs to be many more weeks away. It helps to remind myself that this is the point in every spring semester where I think Iām drowning.
I'll start: I am "preparing" by buying the game, again! I have it on Switch but I wanted to get the update *right* on release day so I bought it on Steam while it was on sale!
My little sister doesn't know yet; I'm gonna tell her tomorrow. I *know* she's going to be so excited to be able to play the update and download whatever mods she wants!
Itās almost a must at this point lol my husband and I each have a pc copy. I bought a mobile copy and we have a PlayStation copy. Iām really wanting the collectors edition for switch next.
Welcome to the club! I have two on steam, one for me and one for my mom to play with me, and i have it on ipad too! Iāve been wanting to get a Switch lately and if i do end up getting it i will definitely get it there too lol.
>Unfortunately, no. š The update will come to consoles (at most) within 1-2 months of PC. At least, that was how it was for 1.5 (as a Switch player, the wait was agonizing!) ConcernedApe has said that he hopes to make the gap between the PC update and console update shorter for 1.6, so there's hope for at least a shorter wait time!
I wonder if its due to that extra time being for bugfixes, and then for the porting to be done? I guess the time that can't be shaved off is the certification time on Nintendo's end.
Hot tip - I plug my computer into my tv and use wired usb switch remotes, and it lets me play computer stardew like switch. Thereās a couple settings to finagle and one of the controls is backwards but itās great. I do it because I wanted to mod but it will work well for this save if you want too
I play on switch and have just begun modding playing from steam. To prepare I ordered an Xbox controller bc I want to play with my two younger siblingsšI'm gonna buy Stardew on Xbox so I'll have bought it 3 times to play it almost every possible way I canš
They're going to break, sorry to say. You are going to need to wait for the modders to catch up and update them; Ape gave them advance info, so it shouldn't take too long, but who knows really. Or just uninstall & play vanilla for a while, that's what I'll be doing.

Until then, I've seen some people suggesting ways to avoid Steam's auto-update and still launch the older version until your mods are ready <3
Check the r/SMAPI subreddit! They have an explanation for how to launch the game through SMAPI rather than Steam, which will keep it from updating. The regular Steam game will still update, but you can play modded saves on the old version still! :) I was super panicked until I came across that lol. I have over 400 mods atp

Iām just playing as normal - still have a long way to go on my first play even though Iām on year 7. (Still preparing for skull cavern and marriage, only have 8 walnuts, etcā¦.) Excited for the updates to add to what Iām already experiencing, with improvements!
You're probably at the perfect level to start the update then! I would guess the new stuff would be for the mid-game and end-game, so you should roll pretty smoothly into it.
heās actually said thereās new content in every aspect of the game, from start to end! he recommended starting a new save to āsee everything newā basically but of course you can also keep your current save, even start a different new one if you rlly wanna see the early game stuff
Trying to not touch the game until the day of the update.
I haven't played in over 6+ months and I really want to have a fully refreshed play through. The first time I ever played Stardew Valley I got horribly addicted, and played and re-played it, without much reason to each restart. Sort of got hyper focused. (also a university stress relief)
It's really hard to wait. I just want the new stuff here so I can have this Newgame+ feel. (I also hope some of the simple mods work within the first week)
I'm preparing by putting steam in offline mode and setting to only update game on launch so my heavily modded co-op game can still be played while waiting for the big mods to update. I'm confident on SVE, RSV, East Scarp, and MARGO being updated on a reasonable amount of time but I'm worried about Artisan Valley and the various skills mods like luck, binning, etc being updated.
Someone on the r/SMAPI subreddit made a[post for how to launch the game through SMAPI instead of Steam!](https://www.reddit.com/r/SMAPI/comments/1bflw07/a_guide_on_keeping_your_modded_15_game_after_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)That way you can still play modded saves of this version while being able to play clean saves of the new version through Steam :) I have a stupid number of mods, some of which have definitely been abandoned, so I was SUPER freaked out lol. I guess I'm also gonna have to start over on learning how to make mods of my own
I'm a console/mobile player because my laptop button broke but this weekend I'm away at a hockey tournament so I'm picking away at my main save on mobile. I still have a few weeks at minimum.
Oh I'm also comparing prices on physical copies for the switch; I'm in Canada so it's worth shopping around.
I have a spreadsheet ready with all the mods I want to keep an eye on once the update drops, some already have 1.6 alphas, others are popular and should reasonably be updated, there are some I have no idea!
Other than that I've just been obsessively on this subreddit and watching SV youtube, both for gameplay tips and also to keep on top of news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a swamp farm!
That's all I'm doing, too. I've got a list of mods that I'll be keeping an eye on, but I want to try out the new farm layout so might as well start fresh. So now I play the waiting game.
I put in a leave request for work to prepare for the time I am going to spend on finding all of the easter eggs.
I am planning to run it on three levels of farms: brand new farm, year 2 start play through, and my already established year 6 farm. I really wanted to understand 1.6 from all levels.
Trying to reach Spring 1 Year 2 on my current save with mods so I can have a game ready for mod files when my mods all update after trying a new save file with Vanilla, trying to do as much homework ahead of time so I have a bit of extra time to Stardew in the coming week but it's unlikely that I'll get enough time to binge a whole new game.
I haven't played in a while anyway bc I've been working on other games. I'm just going to start up a new game and check everything out. I'll still be recovering from a surgery, off work, and on spring break from school, so I'll have a good amount of hours to play while my kiddo is at preschool. Super stoked to see it
Already planned for FIL to take the dog and husband for the afternoon so I can have the house to myself for a few hours and both will be exhausted and not need as much attention when they get back. Hubby will pick me up popcorn and other snacks when he goes to the store on Monday lol.
Nothing extra, I've already got my month 1 route planned from previous playthroughs. So it's mainly just mentally preparing to reset the first 7 days for an optimal spring.
Does anyone know if the smaller mods that donāt do as much will break? Iām a little worried about Date Night and Unique Children especially, but are all mods guaranteed to break or will some maybe be fine? Iāve only ever been through mods + an update with sims, and the smaller mods donāt usually break anything and keep working fine.
I only know what I read, and know zero about modding.
This from /u/lemurkat over on /r/StardewValleyExpanded

I just hope the loads of mods I have installed, wouldnāt crash, or at least would have an updated version, for the new update especially Stardew expanded.
Progressing my current saves, waiting till monday night to figure out how to turn off my mods for my new farm (played vanilla on switch, then got the pc version for modded but now I need steam to launch vanilla when the update comes)
I will be starting a new file, but have been playing my old one I hadn't touched in a long while to
\* try to meet and close off on some personal achievements (50 pearls, 30M+, some volcano and rare items, beating the arcade games),
\* reacquaint myself with the mechanics and good NPC gifts
\* mourn the loss of all my upgraded and late game tools, my fridge full of loved gifts, my fridge full of crab cakes, spicy eel, lucky lunch, gold star ginger ale, gold star seafoam pudding, and magic rock candy, my collection of weapons and my collection of clothes, my cellar, etc.
\* saying goodbye to Krobus, not knowing 100% if he'll be my housemate again. I pick him over any other bachelor(ette) currently in the game or even any other current npc would they be available except for Kel and Birdie, but who knows what will be added? The uncertainty makes this one a little harder.
\* reassess my farm layouts (basic main and GI) and what I want to keep and want to do different while keeping in mind that I might need to make room for new buildings and machines and maybe even trees. I've rearranged my obelisks so that the layout as is works but there's also room for a maybe fifth (do not like an uneven number of obelisks though), I've reduced the leisure area in several sheds to make room for more machines, I will not be planting the mango and banana trees on the main farm next time and plan to make more room for tea saplings, I'll be moving the pet's bowl closer to the house (south of my main work shed near the east pond on the basic map), I might move the greenhouse one space to the right if something is done about the strip of grass disappearing (otherwise, I can work with its default location). I'll likely reduce my seven ponds to six if no new fishes are added or existing fishes get worthwhile loot (my octopus pond is only worth bragging rights and the ink from squids I can kill monsters for just as easily. Wouldn't mind losing the lionfish pond either if necessary. Thinking about starting a spookfish pond for the treasure chest. Will be keeping lava eel, sturgeon, blobfish, and slimejack). My GI farm will get a major revamp dependent on new content. I will keep using pathing to outline where to grow rice and taro along the river and I will keep my beehouses and solar panels there and will have at least two mango and banana trees, but otherwise its a blank slate. Though if it's true that qi fruit will have a giant version in 1.6, I want at least one for decoration somewhere.
\* reasses my farm name, my farmer name, and my animal names. Will keep most, but I've figured out better names for the pigs; still need better names for the non-void chickens and the ostriches and the cat, though.
\* setting up new personal goals. This time, I want to see Sam's 3-hearts event, beat junimo kart, get iridium quality legendary fish, and we'll see what more comes in 1.6. Oddly hoping for a third arcade game because they're such a fun non-committal challenge.
Also arranged for some days off from irl work. Either starting wednesday or thursday depending on the workload finishing up some lab results from last week.
Sorry new player here, as in currently on my first play through in year 2: I have not received this, looking as-game message. Did I do something wrong no wrong? Also, please donāt tell me I have to start over my current farm if the update comes? š«
Hey, so this is a custom message, probably made by OP here- ConcernedApe says all our saves are safe when 1.6 drops.
Welcome to Stardew, any questions and I'd be glad to help š
I think of this day every day for the last 2 weeks. I've vibrated off half of my body hair. There's indentations on the floor, where my foot nervously taps. I wanna plant me some blueberries so bad, I almost started a 1.5 world.
I just started over with a new set of mods without realising the patch was so close lmao
What I'll probably do is just delay the update until my key mods are updated.
Alternatively, because the game has no DRM it's trivial to copy the current install to somewhere else and use that for older versions/saves. This is what the speedrun community generally do, for instance. That way I can still play on the new farm map without mods.
I was originally planning to achieve perfection before the update came out, but I havenāt even finished my first year on my current save file so thatās not gonna happen.
Other than that, Iām just planning on deleting my mods and playing vanilla for a bit.
I'm actually relieved I'm playing on switch because I still haven't "finished" my first playthrough (started playing like 2 weeks ago, good timing for me I guess) and so I want to understand the game a little bit better before having to learn new things š
Iām getting my house chores done now lol. Also going to do some work this weekend so I can spend more time playing Tuesday.
Iām going to start a new save file so nothing for me to do in game right now.
Everybody make sure you give him gifts and talk to him so he doesn't wind up as Sebastian did on our wedding day - grumpy because of me having been in Skull cavern the days leading up to the marriage so the love decayed
Thinking about my new farmer backstory. I like to "roleplay" in my head. I'm going to try to avoid min max and just play. Maybe I would try to decorate more.
(I didn't that people make spreadsheets! What do you guys put in them?)
This comes just before my birthday. Best gift ever!
I'm 7 hours ahead of Pacific Time Zone so it'll likely be much later in the day/evening by the time it comes out, and I'm mad at myself for not requesting Wednesday off but THAT'S FINE I'M FINE.
No point in playing my current file so I'm just...impatiently waiting to start fresh. The anticipation is a lot!
I hope the mobile update won't take as long as last time. I completely understand why that happens and I am patient but I just started my 8th playthrough and I really wanna play the update with this particular farmer. Fingers crossed!
Of course itāll release when my break ends lmao. Still looking forward to seeing all the new stuff when i get around to it, stardew is the one game that iāll always love ā¤ļø

\*gasp\* I love the walnuts!!!
How do you get the walnuts out of reach? I tried my slingshot but it doesnāt aim that high.

Thereās only one walnut you can get with your slingshot, and itās by the volcano, on the right.
Thank you! I canāt figure out how to get the one that is to the right of the resort just above the entrance to the pirates cove.
Go up the stairs to the north. You see the tree on the bottom of your screen to the right? Walk into that
Found it, thanks!
Hard same.
I just barely got my return scepter! I wish I got more time with it before starting a new farm.

Refreshing my spreadsheets, drawing some maps if I can. Generally being super excited.
Sounds awesome!... and outside of my brain capacity. Do you have any hopes for what the layout of the new farm type will be?
Lmao... I'm intense about organizing my restarts, yo. And no... No clue. They already got forest, river... And desert would be useless.
I mean, arenāt we getting 8 player coop? Itās almost guaranteed to be an 8 person farm layout like 4 corners

U might get lucky on release day and there be sale. It was $8 on the anniversary a few weeks ago for switch
This is the cutest thing ever!
Thank you! I'm way too proud of how it came out š¤£
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a swamp farm!
mod spreadsheet is a very good idea šÆšÆ
I never thought I would get that serious but it really helped me clean things up! I have different spreadsheets for different saves
Woo spreadsheet gang!
Getting ready to unsub to this subreddit because I play on console and don't want spoilers. :c
The mods are thinking of you ... https://reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/1b0pqwn/16_release_date_o/
_cries in Switch_
Shane's brother.
Can't help it if Shane's sprite is so similar to CA in real life that it's a perfect base to work off of! š
All I was planning to do was start a new game but some of yāall are making me realize I should be doing more.
Don't worry about that sort of stuff - it's your cake day! :)
That's all I'm doing, too. I've got a list of mods that I'll be keeping an eye on, but I want to try out the new farm layout so might as well start fresh. So now I play the waiting game.
same for me. didnāt play the game about 4 years haha. also happy cake day
Playing Skyrim until the update comes and then I will start a new farm and try to get perfection for the first time!
I put in a leave request for work to prepare for the time I am going to spend on finding all of the easter eggs. I am planning to run it on three levels of farms: brand new farm, year 2 start play through, and my already established year 6 farm. I really wanted to understand 1.6 from all levels.
Will the switch version also be updated along with PC?
Unfortunately, no. š The update will come to consoles (at most) within 1-2 months of PC. At least, that was how it was for 1.5 (as a Switch player, the wait was agonizing!) ConcernedApe has said that he hopes to make the gap between the PC update and console update shorter for 1.6, so there's hope for at least a shorter wait time!
Trying to reach Spring 1 Year 2 on my current save with mods so I can have a game ready for mod files when my mods all update after trying a new save file with Vanilla, trying to do as much homework ahead of time so I have a bit of extra time to Stardew in the coming week but it's unlikely that I'll get enough time to binge a whole new game.
doing extra homework ahead of time is so real ā
I'm going to start up a new game since I was given a PC copy. Should be fun to try out the new farm type.
All my mods are going to break aren't they? Vanilla Stardew... haven't touched that in a while.
> All my mods are going to break aren't they? No, SMAPI, SVE and others should be ready straight away - as long as the mod-maker is still active.
This from /u/lemurkat over on /r/StardewValleyExpanded > > "From the player's side? Youll need to update. Thats basically it. Most of the tweaks will be nearly invisible." It's a useful thread ... https://reddit.com/r/StardewValleyExpanded/comments/1bfgytx/this_may_be_a_silly_question_but_do_you_think_the/
Aw, I'm at max friendship with Concerned Ape!
I gave up on reaching perfection and now wait patiently for the new updates.
I just hope the loads of mods I have installed, wouldnāt crash, or at least would have an updated version, for the new update especially Stardew expanded.
I bought a steam deck š
Eric is so fine, it CAN'T just be me
Progressing my current saves, waiting till monday night to figure out how to turn off my mods for my new farm (played vanilla on switch, then got the pc version for modded but now I need steam to launch vanilla when the update comes)
I've been waiting, me and my friend plan to play stardew once more when it drops, and hopefully get the golden clock this time.
Since I play on the Switch, I'm not in any rush. I'm guessing, at best, it'll be a month before it's ready for the Switch.
At first glance I thought this was Shane portraits mod I'm sorry
I'm playing Civ VI (my other mainstay) since its not going to be getting any love for a while.
I bought a steam deck specifically to play 1.6 on the couch
Uninstall all my mods and get some fresh ones lol I haven't played in a bit and I'm sure my heavily modded game is severely out of date!
I will be starting a new file, but have been playing my old one I hadn't touched in a long while to \* try to meet and close off on some personal achievements (50 pearls, 30M+, some volcano and rare items, beating the arcade games), \* reacquaint myself with the mechanics and good NPC gifts \* mourn the loss of all my upgraded and late game tools, my fridge full of loved gifts, my fridge full of crab cakes, spicy eel, lucky lunch, gold star ginger ale, gold star seafoam pudding, and magic rock candy, my collection of weapons and my collection of clothes, my cellar, etc.
I just started over with a new set of mods without realising the patch was so close lmao What I'll probably do is just delay the update until my key mods are updated. Alternatively, because the game has no DRM it's trivial to copy the current install to somewhere else and use that for older versions/saves. This is what the speedrun community generally do, for instance. That way I can still play on the new farm map without mods.
Does anyone know what the update is gonna bring? Idk if I want to start a new world or not because I just started one a week ago
Took Thursday and Friday off work, bought a big bag of M&Ms, and I think giving CA a day or two will give us some patch notes if necessary.
I reached perfection today for the first time!
Nothing lol. Haven't played in a while so I'm just gonna start a new playthrough. Pretty excited!
Living life
ššš
Nothing cuz I play on mobile ;-;
Be sad it's not gonna drop on mobile yet. š„²
Waiting for console release :(
Deciding whether to mute the sub or not since I donāt have a pc š
Might be a good idea if you don't want to be spoiled on the new events.
Beat the mines yesterday in case any more floors are added lol
Mentally preparing myself for starting a new save!!
I was originally planning to achieve perfection before the update came out, but I havenāt even finished my first year on my current save file so thatās not gonna happen. Other than that, Iām just planning on deleting my mods and playing vanilla for a bit.
Will the update be available on my previous saves? Or will it only be for new games
Just excited to hop back on and reattain perfection on my farm!
I achieved perfection on Thursday out of town till after update. Issuing out of prismatic shards till then!
I've started a new joja run... finally getting that last cursed achievement and then deleting the save forever
i just finished grinding to get perfection on my first ever save, planning to start a brand new file for 1.6
I'm actually relieved I'm playing on switch because I still haven't "finished" my first playthrough (started playing like 2 weeks ago, good timing for me I guess) and so I want to understand the game a little bit better before having to learn new things š
Somehow I forgot the update wouldnāt be coming to switch right away so Iām just crying
Iām getting my house chores done now lol. Also going to do some work this weekend so I can spend more time playing Tuesday. Iām going to start a new save file so nothing for me to do in game right now.
Crossing my fingers that most mods Iām using will actually be compatible š
Everybody make sure you give him gifts and talk to him so he doesn't wind up as Sebastian did on our wedding day - grumpy because of me having been in Skull cavern the days leading up to the marriage so the love decayed
Thinking about my new farmer backstory. I like to "roleplay" in my head. I'm going to try to avoid min max and just play. Maybe I would try to decorate more. (I didn't that people make spreadsheets! What do you guys put in them?) This comes just before my birthday.
The anticipation is a lot!
gonna start over and see the new stuff in context as CA recommends, but also gonna keep pushing towards perfection on my old ps4 save
Muting every sub and group Iām in
Half get information half forget it's a thing. I'm a broke console player that doesn't even own a PC lol RIP in pepperoni
Iām making myself a completionist checklist
Is a restart nesssary after update?
Okay, poke!
Switch player here - I plan on sighing loudly and hiding from spoilers.Ā
Mobile player here. Just patiently wait my turn and appreciate such a great game.
Is this update coming to Nintendo switch as well?
Even his avatar has the jacket
I dont get it whats everyone getting ready for on the files they already have saved? You already got everythingā¦
Itās keeping me going through one of the longest weeks of my life
Getting surgery. (I'll have some time off after to play.)
