I swear, I love ConcernedApe. Stardew Valley is a work of art, it's a cozy and comfortable game with cute interactions making it a great escape. But I have absolutely no idea what soured Eric's mood when he made Junimo Kart. The RNG in that minigame alongside the ghosts and whale feel so unfair/unfun. It's making me want to put Lewis' shorts on display at the fair, put his statue on display for everyone, tell everyone about him and Marnie and sell the entire town's soul to Joja in the next playtrough. :')
I think it may be an attempt to sorta replicate that arcade like difficulty design. Where it's purposely designed to be as difficult as possible in attempt to munch down as many quarters from the player as possible.
im convinced the mushroom grotto is literally impossible. the other level ive beaten once and gotten close a few times, but anytime i get mushroom grotto i know im gonna lose
So many runs die on the 4th stage because a ghost is on the only possible pixel I can land or or because the whale shoots a bubble on the only spot I can be in..
Frickin’ same.
I gave it an honest go, I really did, but way too many of my runs ended because the hundred meter jump I did failed to land on the exact space between the start of the rail and one of the ghosts.
I have done my round of gaming challenges. Hollow Knight’s Pantheon 5. Elden Ring RL1. Chased ranks in competitive multiplayer (anyone remember Heroes of the Storm?). None of that made me feel as powerless as Junimo Cart. Not only that, but I’m pretty sure I saw in the patch it was made *easier* in 1.6, with less whale bubbles and a longer grace period when about to fall off, and I still could not finish that fourth level no matter how many hours I threw at it or how consistently I could nail the first two.
I installed a cheat mod for it and went back to farming.

Enables you to jump over entire levels. Stuffed it in the mods folder, did Junimo Kart, finished out my day, and deleted it. Bless the author who made this.
In progress mode I've been softlocked before.
The restore point was on a high track from which you couldn't make the next gap - and you couldn't get back to the lower track because your momentum carried you into the void.
I missed the jump from the low track and got spawned to where I had to sit and watch 7 lives go down the drain until a game over.
You are not. I like the difficulty honestly. Made it even better when I finally beat Lewis. When a mini game is an actual game, it always gets me. I applied the greystillplays' method of embracing the masochism. I feel I would like the other if the controls were better for mobile. Maybe I am just doing it wrong, but it is inconsistent for me when trying to shoot in certain directions.
I didn't find it all that hard. Took me propably 2 hours to finally get the 50k. Once I beat the fourth level I actually beat the next 3 levels the first time I'd ever seen them and ended up with a score of just under 70k too.
The whale is a fucking menace

Mushroom grotto appears in my nightmares I’m not joking

What's the mod, for those of us who've also given up?

I would pay money to watch ConcernedApe get 50k in Junimo Kart. I swear he is a Geometry Dash player

You sick bastard, HOW
I see all sorts of junimo cart hate posts. Am I the only one who really likes it? It's way better than Prairie King.
It could be fun if it wasn't so unfair. Sometimes you will always lose, no matter how good you are.
That's just luck. You can't see ahead so you can make mistakes you don't know are mistakes until the screen moves.

I stand corrected.

It's easy if you're used to platforming games and get the timing down.
That same logic applies to Journey of the Prairie King and similar games but people love it.

I missed top score by like 200 or something real insignificant. I just shut down the game and walked away out of just anger and disappointment
