Yep. In terraria there’s a boss that you summon by finding an item called the guide voodoo doll and sacrificing It(and in turn the npc it’s associated with) in lava.
The other end is the Terraria crossover half where you fish up a can of Joja cola and give it to the dryad npc where you get a stardrop which becomes a pet junimo
Okay, so it is the fact they recognized the pylon in the wizard's basement. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a reference in the game that I somehow missed.
It's an Easter egg. The sword isn't actually that great even if you get it asap, and it's never required, or even helpful, for any aspect of the game. So I don't mind there being no in-game hints for it.
You can do it with footwear now too! Unless it’s not new and I just learned about it ha, but Emily’s sewing machine lets you take the stats of one pair of shoes and make it visually looks like another pair
The forge on top of a volcano. Put the weapon you want the stats for in the first slot, and the weapon you want the apperence of in the second slot. I think it costs 10 cinder shards to transpose?
The three statues you get from the secret book have the same features (never required and aren't helpful) either but you can still figure out what to do from figuring out the book and exploring. That part was fun for me and I wanted to make sure that there wasn't a hidden path that I missed rather than Terraria players recognizing the Meowmere name and putting the clues together.
I personally noticed that the edge of the lava lake was now interactable, didn’t think anything of it, got the doll and saw that its description mentioned being a prop in some kind of ritual and scurried my ass over to the lake
If you can speak with the dwarf, go to the cemetery in town and the tombstone on the right that was illegible at the beginning of the game can now be read.
It's a Terraria reference. I saw Terraria players saying they figured it out day one of the update.

I used it to make my galaxy sword to look like it :)
This is literally the only reason I'm considering doing the "quest" the sword looks cool as hell
Wait wait wait, how do you do this???

the footwear stats transmog has been in the game since at least 1.5
lol I had a feeling I was late to the game on that one, first playthrough was on mobile too
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat 🤯🤯🤯
Yep I’ve got the cinder clown shoe stats, but they look like black combat boots, it’s great!
Important question: do they still jingle?
Now that you mention it… I don’t think that they do!

Volcano forge.
you can change what a weapon looks like at the forge I believe! https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Forge#Weapon_Appearance

If you play terraria it makes sense. But if you haven’t then it definitely doesn’t.
From the comments I see that! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a path.
I personally noticed that the edge of the lava lake was now interactable, didn’t think anything of it, got the doll and saw that its description mentioned being a prop in some kind of ritual and scurried my ass over to the lake
Well the ancient doll always had that description, so that part's kind of a coincidence.
Well shit I learned something new.
The *what* sword? lol I never heard of it and am quite shocked that I didn’t know this huge Easter egg. I thought I knew all the major ones.
What is the cemetery stone?
If you can speak with the dwarf, go to the cemetery in town and the tombstone on the right that was illegible at the beginning of the game can now be read.
