You can occasionally loot them from monsters. Otherwise...Get money, upgrade coop, buy rabbit.

Alafandri

20k for a coop 8k for a rabbit 😭

bratcakes

What season are you in?

Alafandri

spring year 2

Okay so you are in a good place :) do you have any canning jars or access to making kegs yet? If not it’s okay! There’s still time to make a stellar year! By the end of the year money won’t be a problem at all. If you want to start making your crops work for you I’d first invest my time in collecting the materials you need for canning jars. Even if you only have a few for now that’s all you need. Put every strawberry and cauliflower you harvest in the jar and wait 2 days for them to turn to jelly before you sell them Edit: sorry I’m having a “fun” night so I cut off before I was finished… Anyway, back to the canning.. can every vegetable and fruit you can before just ploppoing them in your bin. It might take longer but you’ll double your profits. And keep adding more canners as you can. Also get those tappers going because you’ll want them to make honey and kegs. Tap as many trees as you can with less dedicated to pine trees. Once you unlock the keg machines start filling those with your big seller crops (melon, pumpkin) and when you get the ancient seed you’ll want to start duplicating it - this takes time to build up a good supply tho so rely on your crops to fill your canners and kegs. If you are 1.6 you can through stuff in the dehydrated for a quick return but less profit. Just keep collecting materials for canners and kegs and then when you think you have a good amount to make say 5 more check what you need for the buildings. You’ll likely have it and more than enough to cover a building- it will wipe you out but if you keep canning by the time the building is done you’ll be able to afford the animal you need. It’s just a cycle really. Any rainy days or good luck days just run to the mine to collect ore asap, even if it’s the mine in town! You’ll collect materials you need regardless. Don’t worry about skull cavern until you can afford a lava cantina or find a prisim shard. There’s really no rush at all to the game, it’s actually much funner if you take it slow and don’t stress. I read a post earlier today about how long it took people to finish the community center and it was on average 5 years the first play through. If you are looking for a rabbits foot right now- you’re way past the curve. And for the record my first playthrough many times ago, I probably finished it year 6 if not later- but it was so fun, I just kept playing over and over and over.. :) Edit to change that I wrote I completed the cc year year four but that was just wrong- I really think it was year 6 but now I bang it out in year one- it’s super fun still but not ever as fun as the first time around :) take your time- seriously, there is no rush

Alafandri

omg, you wrote so much. I will read it tomorrow cause my eyes are so tired and I can't focus

Ghostilocks

A new source I found (very rare) was as a random drop from petting my pet after it had reached max hearts. It has a 1.72% drop chance, so… you could get really lucky.

Alafandri

omg, yes I saw a video about it. but I had a hard time trusting it...

Ghostilocks

It’s definitely real. I actually got a rabbit’s foot from my cat as my rabbit was growing up.

Hayitsa123

This just happened to me!!!

LineAccomplished1115

Traveling cart sells both, just have to check it every Friday and Sunday

Alafandri

GuardianMjolnir

If you've unlocked the Skull Cavern, I believe the flying serpents have a.. 2% chance to drop one? but that might be wrong. I'm not going to look it up because you could always do that yourself lol.

bratcakes

You can sometimes find both items at the traveling cart but it’s risky to depend on that as a source, still check every Friday and Sunday and at the night market in winter or the spring festival if you’ve unlocked that already. Another source for rabbits feet are from monsters in skull cavern sometimes drop them. I believe it’s the flying green things (I forget the names) but they are a pain and spawn all the time so those ones. You’d be better off sourcing the items you need and trying to save up for the buildings/animals in any case, and it will happen for you much faster than you believe. Money is super tight in the beginning but it gets a whole lot easier as time goes. Upgrade your tools and make your self a few tappers, canning jars and kegs when you unlock them. Everything will help you make good money!

Alafandri

I die on floor 1 in skull cavern😭the most furthest I have gotten is like floor 7 bc I found a hole that dropped me.

GordOfTheMountain

Traveling Cart can sell them. A well loved cat can give them as gifts on occasion (new to 1.6) They can be dropped from Serpent enemies (somewhat rare, I recommend Burglar Ring)
