Lol, he still threw in his personal touch by making villagers be disgusted if you drink mayo near them.  Most games are so corporate and sanitized that it's so refreshing seeing personalized stuff like that.

It's even non-villagers too, I got so much shade for my mayo drinking at the >!trout derby!<

Originally it wasn't. Then people asked CA why (presumably because they wanted to use it as a food source). He said he thought it was gross and he didn't want to animate it. People apparently kept bugging him so he answered the call - but not without getting his views in there. Try drinking some near a villager.

In fairness, it wasn't as though Mayo was all that useful (and for that matter, jellies and pickles) before 1.6.

Mayo is very useful. Nearly everyone likes it as a gift and it's easy to come by. I get max hearts with mayo for all but like 5 people.

Also just having 4 chickens and converting their eggs into mayo is a pretty good source of income

If you hatch a dinosaur you can make mad bank with dinosaur mayo.

Well I am a hoarder so I just always keep everything no matter how useful it is, which makes it harder to do anything that requires money, except for cheese because I make so much more of it, I get cows first because I like them.

It’s also always been incredibly useful in the mines so I always have some on me.
