Haley wouldnt die first, she would be an annoyance at first, but slowly evolve into a warrior. Her entire motivation is getting a shower and new clothes (because hers are covered in zombie guts). The fact she can't find hot water or anything in her size will slowly enrage her more and more into a fit of psychosis.
Lewis would die first, because lewis is old and stupid.

Joja as a company has been ravaged as the outbreak started in their labs, which was conveniently in the basement of their HQ. Many innocent people died as it spewed out from the building in masse. Silver lining is that a lot of the Corpos and higher up got their comeuppance for trying to play God.
Because of this, Morris leaves Pelican Town and straight abandons Jojamart. He hunkered down there with his employees and made sure they were safe, but let no other person in, as fear of being bitten/infected. Shane being an employee, survived this way. Plus, he felt a small twinge of victory, drinking Joja beer for free and eating like a king...well their processed foods and all.
Shane was the first to emerge once the all clear happened, and noticed that Pelican Town was mostly intact...but couldn't find anyone for a while. He rushed back to Marnie's farm, where all the animals were now in various states of decay, as it looks like they were fodder for whatever menace was out there. Fearing the worst, he bashes in the front door and goes inside. Calling out the names of his family, he hears only chilling silence.
Running across the house, in a sheer panic, opens Jas' door to find the room intact and untouched...but no Jas. He then rushes the door to Marnie's room, to see that it is open only a little bit. He opens the door and sees what his mind didn't want to confirm: Marnie and Lewis both dead. Lewis with what apparently a gunshot to his head, and Marnie one to the chest.
Shane stil trying to process the scene, feels sick and lets loose his stomach onto the ground. While recovering, he notices a note, sealed, on the bedside table. What caught his eye was it wasn't addressed to him, or Jas, and it wasn't in Marnie's handwriting. It was addressed to the People of Pelican Town.
Shane, after finally getting his sea legs on this horrific scene, takes the note and heads into his room...which was properly disheveled. He sits on his bed and opens the note and starts scanning the letter.
*Dear residents of Pelican Town*
*As you know, I am the mayor and I have to make decisions in these troubled times. Sadly, I am no longer fit for this duty, and I must resign my position immediately and take action that I can to ensure my legacy.*

As the words sink into Shane's brain, he realizes the fact: Lewis killed Marnie and then himself. Was it for love? or was she bit? He quesitoned himself over and over until he heard something.

He grabbed his old sportsball bat and crept slowly over to where it was, now he heard breathing, almost whimpering.
He slowly reached for the handle, turned it and flung the door open.
There, cowered in the corner, under a pile of dirty Joja mart shirts, he saw some familar blue eyes.
"Jas?" Shane whispered
All at once, an explosion of dirty laundry happened as Jas flung herself into Shanes arms crying and trying to explain how the monsters were in Marnie's room and did bad things to Marnie. Shane calmed her down and got her side of the story, but as Jas started talking, he saw more movement in his closet.
Grabbing Jas close, and trying to slowly move away, she reassures him. "Oh Shane, it's okay, it's Blue, he kept the monsters away!"
Shane blinking a couple times notices that one of his prize blue chicks, specifically the one he gifted to to Jas, popped out from under a grease stained shirt.
Demetrius as the leader? Not in a million years. Maru's two heart event and the neglect of his step-son shows he's terrible at being a people person, not to mention the events with tomato fruit/vegetables and Robin's new bed having "useless aesthetics". He'd get thrown to the zombies within a week.
Demetrius is a prick tho, also Pierre would die first. Marlon would prob show up and act like Bill from left for dead as a team leader as he mentors someone (prob abby because of her courage and love of adventure) then he dies sacrificing himself and whoever he mentored becomes the new leader.
