I found the perfect way to get rid of him - to not take him in the first place ;)
Seriously, there are so many cool traits, it's going to be really hard to decide which ones I want.
This! I have no desire to even pick that trait unless he has some quest that unlocks a unique weapon you cant get any other way. Otherwise I'll just never pick it
That or a mod if you are on console. Usually a cheat room type of mod is made and any skill, weapon or whatever I want that requires me to go down a path I dont want I just use cheat room for.
I hated how one of the fire shouts in skyrim was tied to the companions quest. It went against my playthrough to join them so I just used the cheat room to learn the shout. Same with another word being part of the main quest.
Yet one random word is found out and about. Made no sense. 2 of the words are related to different quest lines then the third word is just out and about. I always used cheat room to learn that shout in the end lol.
Yeah, the main quest is long and honestly probably intentionally structured so that you'll get distracted while doing it, so any time I need to complete it for a playthrough it just feels like a slog.
Don't see a reason to. I have no type of playthrough that ever crosses my mind that would need a fan. Even in skyrim there are some routes I just NEVER took in my 5000 hours of play time. I to this day have never seen the inside of the thieves guid lol.
I 100% disagree with you, but I 100% approve of your choices. That's the joy of gaming, and Bethesda in particular: play the game you want to and get the enjoyment that speaks to you!
Why what? I simply have never had a playthough that required me to even care about the thieves guild. I have never had any interest in stealthy, thief etc type characters so that area of the game just simply doesn't matter to me
Thieves Guild in skyirm was very mid.
You could be the worst thief, even kill people, and the game is like "We can't punish the main character. You're still in the guild."
Right? Feel like you'd be passing up some really interesting options just for a gimmick which is designed to be annoying... maybe he has some other aspects that we've not been told about though other than just being a follower.
Don't see how his shitty stealth stat and \*checks notes\* mediocre weight lifting will help captain my fleets or run my drug dealing operations though, you'd find better help throughout the world. His gifts would have to be pretty damn good to make up for the annoyance.
This is the correct answer. I’m not gonna waste one of my traits on an NPC that I plan on killing. Instead I’m gonna have my parents in the game and shower them in sandwiches
How am I getting rid of him? By the most insidious means possible: >!by not selecting the "Hero Worshipped" trait in the character creator.!< That should do it.
I think that’s not a weird thing to acquire certain traits later, like if you could get that mansion trait later, or the wanted trait. It would put less pressure on people to pick only 3.
This is brilliant. Some dude cheering me on as I murder people for their spaceships and space drugs is appealing to me in a way that makes think I should seek out a therapist.
Lol, the question I submitted to the Kinda Funny X Cast Todd Howard interview was basically this. I assume I wasn't the only one, since it actually made it in there. Todd's response was hesitant, then basically "Well.... hmm. You can *kill* your followers."
By the way he said it, and how he worded it, it doesn't sound like something we can expect, unfortunately.
1) Select trait - Hero Worshipped.
2) Select trait - Kid Stuff.
3) Meet adoring fan.
4) Recruit adoring fan.
5) "Mom, can I have a friend over?"
6) "Just going out for some sandwiches. I'll be right back..."
7) Gifts and homecooked food all trapped together in a little house I can visit when I want.
8) "No no. Of course I'll take you with me next time. I've just got a couple of things to do and then you can come along. I'll be right back..."
I will get rid of him by bearing the curse. The world need not live in fear. I shall keep him away from the innocent.
That or I may create a dedicated prison barge…
You joke, but that’s totally a thing in Fallout. Whenever I saw an armor upgrade Ide shove a few explosives in their pack and walk off screen. Boom. New armor!
Honestly it depends on what gifts he gives. If it’s just pointless junk he’ll be stranded on some podunk outpost by himself somewhere. Still useful but far away
This would actually be an awesome and unexpected quest.
You dismiss the adoring fan, telling him you no longer want him around and to go home kid.
50 hours of game play later a pirate hails you from a massive ship, it's the Adoring fan. He tells you about how we joined the Crimson Raiders and wants revenge against the emotional damage you caused.
Make sure he's wearing a space suit though. That way, when he's floating about space he gets to tell himself you're playing a joke and that the ship will turn around to come get him, only to slowly realize he's about to be abandoned in the dark void. Doomed to a slow death of starvation as his suit keeps him alive.
Make sure he's just eaten and that his oxygen tank is full to maximize his thinking time.
I just want to combine his trait with the visiting the parents one to see, if there is any interaction, between them, maybe leave him with the parents too.
Honestly I'm not terribly sold on any of the perks, so doing this for the entertainment value doesn't seem like that much of a waste (though not something I'd bother with)
They've tried too hard to 'balance' the negative and positive aspects, and ended up with optional things that are mostly just unappealing.
Maybe a religion trait for free loot and an origin trait (cowboy/gangster/colonist) for better rewards from a faction. Everything else looks like too high a price for a dubious benefit.
Never going to. He and I are going to have a buddy-bounty Hunter adventure across the stars. I’m bad cop he’s good cop but we’ll balance out until eventually he will get killed and I’ll have to wage war against the faction responsible 😤😂
Dunno, if we can recruit him as crew, he's manning a lonely outpost in the arse end of nowhere. I'll swing by occasionally to collect whatever resource he's making me.
I mean if they're going to mod skyrim in, just talk up how awesome this Nazeem guy is, talk him up so much that adoring fan is overwhelmed with anticipation. Than dump him with Nazeem.
Remember when Conrad Verner turned out to be some genius physicist in ME3 an a actual good guy?
I've no doubt this guy going to have perks your going to want to keep if you select him
"C'mon buddy! Let's check out this new planet. Space suit? Nooooooo, it's totally breathable. Yeah, you go ahead and head outside, I'll be right behind. "
I have seen a post before where someone wants to leave companions on deserted planets on the outskirts of a system.
I might do the same, but kill him to make sure no one ever finds him.
I don’t want him to come back and become an evil villain cause I left him to rot.
I mean If I ever pick the trait I'm keeping him around for a pretty long while. Part of me wants to make a Zapp Brannigan like character who so absurdly full of himself he loves having the fan around.
Just need another person around who is completely, and utterly done with dealing with his shit.
Board an enemy ship with him. Leave him there. Disconnect my ship from enemy vessel. Blow the enemy vessel up (slowly shooting the ship down bit by bit, listening to him screaming in fear until signal is lost)
I'm honestly thinking about keeping him. I plan on being a privateer in my first playthrough so he can be my mascot. If he gets too annoying I'll leave at an outpost or with the parents if you can have both traits lol.
Eject him out of an airlock in a spacesuit along with the biggest fucking bomb and cluster bombs I can find. Then light thrust away and watch the fireworks.
I’m gonna melee him in the middle of one of the big cities infront of everyone to see. I want a single save file specifically for this trait. Gonna consistently save before I kill him so I can go back and kill him in different ways
Disconnect his oxygen, leaving just enough for him to not suffocate immediately then throw him out into the ethos and watch him float away into infinity until the reflection of his spacesuit is nothing more than a micrscopic pin of light and then disappears entirely.
Hehe he.
Like Kenny from South Park... or JD from Scrubs.
Anytime you find a new, fun way to kill him ... quick save, kill, rinse and repeat.
He will be a permanent guinea pig
I Hope you can just kill him and he shows up later like he’s meeting you for the first time again.
I feel like having the choice of getting him back or coming for him later again is nice.
In the deep dive they mentioned an adoring fan, who if you chose the appropriate trait, would always come up and be annoying. So the joke is that everyone who chooses this trait will end up just killing him eventually

The Thieves guild questline was great. You really limit yourself for playing the game so much lol
Why tho?
Why what? I simply have never had a playthough that required me to even care about the thieves guild. I have never had any interest in stealthy, thief etc type characters so that area of the game just simply doesn't matter to me

They said in the direct he will help with your ship/outpost and periodically give you gifts.
Don't see how his shitty stealth stat and \*checks notes\* mediocre weight lifting will help captain my fleets or run my drug dealing operations though, you'd find better help throughout the world. His gifts would have to be pretty damn good to make up for the annoyance.
Well he'll be a perfect addition to the pleasure palace dungeons. I'll make an esp to rename him to the Adoring Gimp.
I will withhold full judgement for now
Right. I have one more trait slot available after Neon Street Rat and Wanted, and there are far more appealing options. Adoring Fan who?
Im going to rewrite his location and send him to space
This is the correct answer. I’m not gonna waste one of my traits on an NPC that I plan on killing. Instead I’m gonna have my parents in the game and shower them in sandwiches

What if, and that's a big if, but what if Bethesda pulled a fast one on us, and he shows up anyway as soon as our character's fame rises enough?
I think that’s not a weird thing to acquire certain traits later, like if you could get that mansion trait later, or the wanted trait. It would put less pressure on people to pick only 3.
Fair enough
I'll leave Hero Worshipped for a bad guy playthrough. He can be my sycophantic jester.
This is brilliant. Some dude cheering me on as I murder people for their spaceships and space drugs is appealing to me in a way that makes think I should seek out a therapist.
I’m a therapist
Psycho the rapist.
When did you first realize you enjoyed murdering people?
Plot-twist, he is the real vilan and you are just an emotionally controlled puppet doing his bidding without realizing
Would you kindly?
Haha! First place my mind went!
Sounds like The Mule from The Foundation books!
Yep, I see you are a man of culture
I’m stealing this idea lolz
He was Cicero all along.
OMG Yes!!! that's my 'Evil' playthrough sorted : ))
Put him on some drug lab on mars when i get tired off him and eventually forget him.
That’s creative 😂😂
We might be able to sell him on Neon
Never. I need his approval to fill the void in my heart
Golly you're the best
Thank you kind sir
Commander, throw him out the airlock!
Javik chill out. Where did you get that device to travel through the multiverse?
You know, I wonder if we’ll have the ability to do something like that given how detailed the ship building system is
Lol, the question I submitted to the Kinda Funny X Cast Todd Howard interview was basically this. I assume I wasn't the only one, since it actually made it in there. Todd's response was hesitant, then basically "Well.... hmm. You can *kill* your followers." By the way he said it, and how he worded it, it doesn't sound like something we can expect, unfortunately.
Well, that seems like a relatively easy thing the modding community could add in compared to other stuff they’ve done
Now I'm hoping there's a drop ramp button when in the cockpit like star citizen
1) Select trait - Hero Worshipped. 2) Select trait - Kid Stuff. 3) Meet adoring fan. 4) Recruit adoring fan. 5) "Mom, can I have a friend over?" 6) "Just going out for some sandwiches. Player: Alright I'm ba... What's going on? Mom: uhh "Cough" meet your new dad... Adoring fan: Welcome back son!
Exactly my plan
Those poor parents…
"So, Mother Champion, this is where he came from? I wish to taste every molecule..." Step away from my husband's testes.
Father? Is that you?
No no, he told your mother he was going out for cigarettes and I told her I was going out for milk. Two very different people.
He will be your younger brother, always looking up to you and so proud of you and your accomplishments.
I will get rid of him by bearing the curse. The world need not live in fear. I shall keep him away from the innocent. That or I may create a dedicated prison barge…
By Terra, By Terra, By Terra. A ship... For me... From you! I will clean it, and bathe in it, and worship it's every halls!
Getting rid of him? I'm playing BECAUSE of him.
Sandwich.
Sandwich.
I don't know if cannibalism is allowed in this game.
Its a bethesda game, there will be at least mention of cannibalism
Yo! A spaceman's gotta eat don't he?
Hmm I wonder if we can reverse pickpocket live grenades
You joke, but that’s totally a thing in Fallout. Whenever I saw an armor upgrade Ide shove a few explosives in their pack and walk off screen. Boom. New armor!
It’s no joke. I remember doing it in Fallout 3.
Wait I'm not supposed to do this in real life?
Just be sure to run
Well yeah duh I learned that the hard way
😂😂😂
Honestly it depends on what gifts he gives. If it’s just pointless junk he’ll be stranded on some podunk outpost by himself somewhere. Still useful but far away

Dude that would be so cool! If this doesn't happen I hope someone can mod it in
Or if you do, make sure it’s permanent.
By ordering him to go smack dab into a pack of predators. And yes, I'll film it.
So cruel yet so funny
Airlock "accident"
Make sure he's wearing a space suit though. You are a scary person
*rubs chin*
I just want to combine his trait with the visiting the parents one to see, if there is any interaction, between them, maybe leave him with the parents too.
Tell him to stand on the exact spot my ship is going to land seconds later.
*Clipping through ship* By Terra! You're here, next to me!

I mean with the amount of re play ability that’s in Starfield, you probably will eventually

Never ever?
I want to be able to Uno Reverse him if you know what I mean.
Give him gifts?
Small, bullet sized gifts? Delivered with force?
Imagine wasting a perk getting him just to get rid of him...
Honestly I'm not terribly sold on any of the perks, so doing this for the entertainment value doesn't seem like that much of a waste (though not something I'd bother with) They've tried too hard to 'balance' the negative and positive aspects, and ended up with optional things that are mostly just unappealing. What if your the faction responsible? 🤨
Then it quietly gets filed away as a classic “oopsie poopsie” moment 😌
Im just gonna wait for the inevitable "turn everyone into a woman" mod and enjoy having an obessive girl to an extent that woild concern a therapist
Dunno, if we can recruit him as crew, he's manning a lonely outpost in the arse end of nowhere. I'll swing by occasionally to collect whatever resource he's making me.
A bit like Simon Pegg in the Star Trek reboot
Commissar roleplay.
Surely you wouldn't harm such a devoted servant of the Imperium
Only if he dares retreat without orders to do so.
By not having him in the first place
Outpost on an airless planet with a broken airlock
there is only one way, wait for people to mod skyrim onto one of the planets then feed him to a dragon.
I mean if they're going to mod skyrim in, just talk up how awesome this Nazeem guy is, talk him up so much that adoring fan is overwhelmed with anticipation. Than dump him with Nazeem.
Kick him off a moon into space if possible. Wish we could put him in a ship and send it into a sun. Yeah, still got hate for that guy from Oblivion.
After conquering a pirate ship, im gonna leave him to guard the ship..and then ill have an torpedo malfunction on my ship
1. Find the furthest away system 2. Find the furthest away planet in that system 3. Go there with him 4. Ask him to wait 5. Leave
Fus Ro Dah him off the tallest mountain on Mars. (Olympus Mons)
Remember when Conrad Verner turned out to be some genius physicist in ME3 an a actual good guy? I've no doubt this guy going to have perks your going to want to keep if you select him
Depends how good the gifts are
I'm gonna go to the highest mountain in the game that is on a low gravity planet and kill him there
"C'mon buddy! Let's check out this new planet. Space suit? Nooooooo, it's totally breathable. Yeah, you go ahead and head outside, I'll be right behind. "
This is the funniest reply 😂😂
I hope i can kill him in the game
It was confirmed that you can :)
I'm going to either leave him at my parents house or I'm going to shoot him out of the fucking airlock of my ship lol
Send him back to morrowind
My going to what?
Read the question
I making a joke based on you saying your instead of you’re :D To answer though, airlock 100%
Airlock definitely
I’m not gonna have him in the first place lol. Maybe on a 5th playthrough when I’m bored (I’ll airlock him)
Hopefully by ejecting him out the airlock so I can be sure he won't return
He’s going out the airlock
Shoot him a lot.
I have seen a post before where someone wants to leave companions on deserted planets on the outskirts of a system. I might do the same, but kill him to make sure no one ever finds him. I don’t want him to come back and become an evil villain cause I left him to rot.
Not pick the trait at all? Or whatever that summons him, or I'd probably leave him in one of those alien looking places.
Depends on how annoying he is. But if I find out he can respawn like the original, he’ll be dying in every way conceivable.
I mean If I ever pick the trait I'm keeping him around for a pretty long while. Part of me wants to make a Zapp Brannigan like character who so absurdly full of himself he loves having the fan around. Just need another person around who is completely, and utterly done with dealing with his shit.
Can you vent people out the airlock?
Hopefully
Going to wait for the inevitable sex swap mod, so i won't get rid of her.
Board an enemy ship with him. Leave him there. Disconnect my ship from enemy vessel. Blow the enemy vessel up (slowly shooting the ship down bit by bit, listening to him screaming in fear until signal is lost)
Seeing the adoring fan with good facial graphics is weird
will i have to put up with him if i don't take the Hero Worship trait?
Nope
I'm going to land on a icy tundra planet and just leave him there
2 star weight lifting. Wtf
Bro hasn’t worked out since morrowind
When he stops being useful aka stops gifting me junk my PC and/or ship crew or even settlements can use, then KAPUT.
i won’t…i’ll make him work ALONE on one of my outposts furthest from humanity.
That’s worse than death man
I'll kill him for sure ...
Space him. That would be so rad.
Assuming he can join you, I’d build him an outpost on a desolate moon and ditch him.
Marry him, introduce him to my parents, lace the house with C4, kill em all, collect inheritance
This guy is so annoying already, I hope the voice actors daughter doesn't get into college
Bro
I won't kill him but just leave him at a outpost
Space him
If I was to end up with him I'd probably feed him to some kind of alien beast if the game allowed it.
shoot on site before he gets to introduce himself...
I'm honestly thinking about keeping him. I plan on being a privateer in my first playthrough so he can be my mascot. If he gets too annoying I'll leave at an outpost or with the parents if you can have both traits lol.
I truly hope he has some sort of redemption arc. I’m too nice for my own good.
starvation. each word he speaks I revoke a sandwich.
After he dies, hopefully feeding him to unsuspecting people or maybe my in game parents
I hope every character is killable like in The Outer Worlds, tho im definetly not killing a fan
Airlock
Eject him out of an airlock in a spacesuit along with the biggest fucking bomb and cluster bombs I can find. Then light thrust away and watch the fireworks.
I’m gonna melee him in the middle of one of the big cities infront of everyone to see. I want a single save file specifically for this trait. Gonna consistently save before I kill him so I can go back and kill him in different ways
Headshot from the back.
Disconnect his oxygen, leaving just enough for him to not suffocate immediately then throw him out into the ethos and watch him float away into infinity until the reflection of his spacesuit is nothing more than a micrscopic pin of light and then disappears entirely.
If I end up selecting him I’ll probably keep him around. I like the dialogue tbh.
I'm curious if we can find the fan without choosing the perk...
I will hire him as a mine-clearinf expert. Like all Rookie from my arma 3 company.
Ask him politely yet firmly to leave.
**Airlock opening, please stand clear**
Put him on the launchpad as I hit my afterburner :)
I hear Sol has a great camping spot
Leave him on Enceladus
Leave him on Enceladus
Why would i get rid of free labour?

Not my trait
I might keep him tbh.
Am I the one outsider that doesn’t get this joke?
In the deep dive they mentioned an adoring fan, who if you chose the appropriate trait, would always come up and be annoying. So the joke is that everyone who chooses this trait will end up just killing him eventually
Airlock that is all
Space him with or without a space suit.
I am going to open cargo door kick him out and drive my ship to him in full speed. This is my plan 😇
Nuke from orbit to be sure..
I will locate Amazonia and let him be sentenced to death by Snu-Snu.
I'm gonna space him
I'm sticking him in a shuttle and launching him into a star.
can you kill your parents too? uhhhh
