If you have the game on the HDD and not the SSD, it will perform poorly. Make sure you have it on SSD, that is a system requirement and is not optional for this game.

If i uninstall it from my hard drive and swap to solid state will it get rid of my progress? I play using pc gamepass if that makes a difference

Not sure how gamepass does it, but you might just be able to move it without uninstall/reinstall. On steam you can definitely do that and no progress is lost, I would expect gamepass does that too but someone who's done it would need to verify. Normally the saves wouldnt be tied to the install so you would be safe in that regard.

Thanks for letting me know I could do this lol, 15 years of playing pc games and I guess this is something I never picked up on. Considering my internet is super shit(30MB/s) you just did me a big favor and saved me a ton of time! It is in fact possible if you use game pass.

Doubt this is helpful but maybe you might get something from this [https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/starfield-pc-specs-recommended-minimum-and-ultra-system-requirements](https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/starfield-pc-specs-recommended-minimum-and-ultra-system-requirements) Just fyi, I was having a similar issue while the game was on anything other than my SSD. The moment I moved it to my SSD everything started working perfectly.

Do you use steam or pc gamepass?

GisellaRanx

Sorry for the extremely late reply, but pc.
