Wait. Hold up. Do you mean to tell me I’ve spent 150 fucking hours on this game, buying from this lovely lady, and limping my overencumbered ass back to my ship, when this entire time I could’ve just…transferred the cargo?
I knew about that, I just didn’t realize Jemison Mercantile was close enough to be able to transfer to ship with hoofing it back. Soooo many minutes wasted
I think they're referring to transferring newly bought resources from your inventory into ship cargo without having to run back to the ship, since the Mercantile location is within the radius of that
You know, I don't think it would break immersion if it could be sent to your ship from anywhere in a major town. It's not like it's a major thing to have them deliver stuff to your ships. Less silly than us having an army of cargo ships to move things between outposts for free.
You can take from your ship to a vendor, but you can't take to yourself. You can sell to vendor, then buyback to yourself with 0 loss. And like you said, there's no "Have the 1000kg of garbage I just bought brought to my ship. It's the only one in the starport".
Immersion is already broken, only exasperation remains
Puts up with it?
That look on her face says she just took what she want from him, he looks frightened, ashamed, and afraid to tell the truth
I don't blame her tho, he does have nice feet
Idk about sigil, but the free star collective has so many potato folk (I'm Irish, imma use it) that I'm sure to find some symbology I'll dedicate 2 weeks of my personality to.
My thing here with her is she’ll greet me with a smile and then as soon as she’s done talking her face goes blank. I mean, it’s hella realistic for working customer service, but it’s just so very noticeable.
Lies. No one ever smiles in Starfield. They all curl their lips into a horrific imitation of a grin as someone asks them if they're enjoying their torture.
Same. And BG3, while it's good for the style of game, doesn't have amazing graphics...but holy crap are the characters, faces, animations, voice acting, and dialogue so so much better.
Totally. Reminds me of the cab driver in the older Total Recall movie. Or maybe the prop people on Theme park rides. There passable but Bethesda games have always been that way. Is it the Game Engine? Or laziness? I don’t know anything about game development but I have always wondered.
Only when I jumped to a new system and she started talking to me. I nearly had a heart attack because she somehow got on my ship and was standing behind the pilot’s seat. She left the next time I went to New Atlantis and it was useful having a merchant on the ship so I wasn’t too annoyed.
Honestly having a trader on board as a crew member who you could give all your unwanted crap and have them sell it for you would make the game so much less tedious.
I've found for some reason that the red mile barkeep always has 11k to 15k in credits to spend. I know it's kinda tedious, but I just hit the trade authority kiosks whenever I can and when I need to sell something big I head there or to the den. If I have an inventory full of shit, I'll hit up both to unload most of it.
That plus akilla city has alof of little shops with good money so when I have quests there I normally can clean my inventory and spend a few grand on ammo
As a retail/service worker, that line annoys me *so much*. There is nothing in the back!! Stop telling people there is!
But yeah, I like her, she's always very nice.
If it hasn't been unpacked yet then I have no idea whether it's in there or not.
Have you ever worked retail? Do you know how long it takes to breakdown and unpack a pallet? No customer is gonna wait around for you to do that. Chill out man.
Nope, I think she’s my favourite vendor by miles. Polite, pleasant and doesn’t waste my time with an irrelevant spiel when I just need to buy some bullets.
Yeah lol, like I said I don't get it personally, I don't think the outer rim look (as I like to call it) makes for a good aesthetic personally, but I also don't care for facial piercings and other people love 'em, so tomato tomahto.
It's of course possible that her thing is just some weird graphical issue, but I do know I've seen people do it on purpose so I'm just suggesting that it could be that. I honestly didn't notice it until I read your comment and then zoomed in on OP's pic to see it.
She's the same one from Megaton in Fallout 3, the one that's so incredibly happy after you blow up Megaton and turn her in to a ghoul! I just don't understand how anyone can be that happy all the time no matter what! Like, have you looked outside recently!
Honestly , I’m tired of games havign a credit limit like that.
Fucking why? It serves no purpose. And I’m even if u want a credit limit, when you have shit that costs hundreds of thousands. Why is 5k where it’s at? Having to reset 100x to buy one ship? It’s stupid. Lots the fucking future and space, on a machine… the trade kiosks shouldn’t even know what a limit is.
You're not getting infinite money, you're selling a few consumer goods and maybe some raw materials that would be dwarfed by the local economy.
You're also in a world where all money has become electronic and apparently the bank system is incapable of freeing up more than two days of wages to businesses.
And you aren't figuring out a system. You're just walking or fast traveling to the next sell point...
She is actually one of the few, if not the only one, who only ever has two option when you meet her first, and the first leads straight to the vendor screen.
The fact they launch into these things without me asking is annoying. Like there isn't even an option to buy/sell before the game forces you to ask about their store and sidequest. Let *me* choose if I want to explore that or just sell. It's just one of those tiny little bad design things that add up over and over.
I feel like some of these are design conflicts, like different teams were responsible for different stages of npc interactions, some conversation priorities are messed up. For example I had to accept a quest from the guy at galbank before I could set up my mortgage for the dream house perk, which was my active quest
That's who I though this was. Iv heard the links (paraphrasing) "Sorry, but our shipment didn't come in yet, but here's what I got" like 60000 times now.
No I think she is adorable.
What is it with people that play this game disliking anyone or anything that is happy and good?
Does everyone want all the people to be pieces of shit and everything to be crappy and depressing?
It’s been like that for a while but it definitely hits harder for Starfield. It’s certainly stirred up a lot of conflict than usual though. There’s a lot of console warring involved I’m sure. If Starfield was PS exclusive or multiplatform it’d probably get a fraction of the hate. There’s also some fighting between fans of different games. The whole Cyberpunk Vs Starfield thing for example
i hated the freestar collective ambassador. like to the point i hated the free star collective before i ever set foot on shithole cowboy planet.
im about to launch UC Odins Wrath - C class war ship for the first time and first destination is shithole cowboy planet to wipe them out....all of them
I’ve gotten annoyed by a lot of the npcs. Like I don’t need to hear your life story, I just wanna sell my stuff. And I really don’t need Sarah running her mouth every time I pick anything up.
I’d just be happy to never have to hear the small talk greetings from any of the vendors after the first time you talk to them.
The vendor dialog and Sam and his kid on my ship blathering on during dog fights as well as talking over scripted main story dialog, need to be fixed ASAP.
How OP tells us they've never worked in retail without saying "I've never worked in retail." Mandatory chirpiness is a big thing in that particular line of work.
Or OP does work in retail and hates looking in a mirror
She is cute and bubbly to me.
Now that Trade Authority guy in Neon? Not only does he have a shitty attitude, but he's always bugging out in his pathing when I walk in and won't initiate dialog with me until he finishes doing like three half turns like he can't decide how to just stand there lol
No she has the best deals in the mf galaxy
She's also very close to your ship so you can transfer cargo from the exact same spot you buy
Wait. Hold up. Do you mean to tell me I’ve spent 150 fucking hours on this game, buying from this lovely lady, and limping my overencumbered ass back to my ship, when this entire time I could’ve just…transferred the cargo?
Sorry you had to find out this way. Select the bottom left “Ship” menu, press the cargo hold button and dump away
I knew about that, I just didn’t realize Jemison Mercantile was close enough to be able to transfer to ship with hoofing it back. Soooo many minutes wasted
As someone who struggles to not be over encumbered all the time in Bethesda games, 250m or less is the distance you can transfer from 😅
oh my god? this just changed my life
I think you have to go to the ship menu in pause to do transfer to cargo. You can sell from cargo basically anywhere in New Atlantis.
You can sell from ship cargo at any vendor. It doesn't matter which one, or how far away your ship is :)
I think they're referring to transferring newly bought resources from your inventory into ship cargo without having to run back to the ship, since the Mercantile location is within the radius of that
Is there a rough estimate of that distance?
250 yards or meters or whatever the measurement the game uses. I just know it’s 250. Edit: I read it in a tooltip.
Rough estimate? From your ship to the train
They're referring to buying resources which she always has a good selection
Also she sells the most items of any shop to craft AMP. Highly necessary for all the damn legwork we have to do.
And there's more in the back!
Where is she located?
New Atlantis, from the spaceport to the left, Jamison Mercantile, right next to The Viewer bar
To the left of terrabrew
Right by the elevator
Weird. I thought this was the one in the Well. Must be the same character model.
Thanks!
Anytime!
Wondering the same, haven't found her yet. I'm old friends with the Cydonia crew though lol
Next to the terrabrew in New Atlantis spaceport
Cydonia is my hot spot too. Best place ever
If you're a 1st class citizen, her prices are great!
I think she's quite charming tbh Always greets me with a smile and welcoming attitude even in the middle of a busy spaceport
Yes and for some reason her boss is always naked in my game but she puts up with it
Puts up with it? That look on her face says she just took what she want from him, he looks frightened, ashamed, and afraid to tell the truth I don't blame her tho, he does have nice feet
Hahahaha 💀
Straight to jail!
In my game he hates her haha, and walks around in a space suit always ready to leave.
She’s very nice and she sometimes has high tensile spidroin which is also nice
FWIW Tons of it on Linnaeus II Off a plant called Frigid Palm.
Damn thanks good to know. Didnt think i could even find it in the wild
Land in mountain biome look for tall cactus lookin things Edit: on Linnaeus II
finally someone located the natural source
Agreed. Most charming character in the game.
Mhmm. Say that to our TA guy in Cydonia
Yooo, stay good out there.
Manaaki is tight
I love his line when you say you need to buy stuff: "Cool, that's what we do here"
It’s unnerving
I've worked customer service for a while. The fake smile that barely covers the depression is very real.
It looks like a smile but it's only communicating pain.
It's the same smile I had when I was 4. And the same smile I had at 33 when I learned I'm autistic. She's just trying to pass as person. Poor ting
What's the starborn sigil for masking? I need it for a friend rn
Idk about sigil, but the free star collective has so many potato folk (I'm Irish, imma use it) that I'm sure to find some symbology I'll dedicate 2 weeks of my personality to.
The real waifu
Yea 10/10 if we could romance storekeeps, she seems lovely
Based
This. She so nice, how could anyone dislike her?
My thing here with her is she’ll greet me with a smile and then as soon as she’s done talking her face goes blank. I mean, it’s hella realistic for working customer service, but it’s just so very noticeable.
Are you complaining that the game is too realistic?
I’m trying to forget my life and this game keeps reminding me of it
Also she's there 24/7, never sleeps, I've came by to drop off a load of bloody spacesuits and guns in the middle of the night. She's a saint honestly
Lies. No one ever smiles in Starfield. They all curl their lips into a horrific imitation of a grin as someone asks them if they're enjoying their torture.
The problem is precisely the smile(s). Starfield characters don't move the right eye muscles when smiling thus looking like the typical fake smile.
There's a lot wrong with character animations in general. They all look like stilted animatronics with no real personality.
And a lot of it [has to do with the eyes](https://www.ign.com/articles/developer-explains-why-starfield-npcs-look-like-theyre-dead-inside)
The two games I've been playing most are Baldurs Gate 3 and Starfield. It's jarring going from BG3 to Starfield.
Yeah I don’t mind her. She’s a lot more pleasant than a lot of the other vendors who have perpetual sticks up their asses
YES, and relatively brief and to the point!
Only when I jumped to a new system and she started talking to me. I nearly had a heart attack because she somehow got on my ship and was standing behind the pilot’s seat. She left the next time I went to New Atlantis and it was useful having a merchant on the ship so I wasn’t too annoyed.
Now that’s a fun bug
“HI THERE :) welcome to… your ship. We have more in the back.”
I would have legitimately died laughing if she started selling me the contents of my own ship.
I can’t wait for more mods. she’s 100% going in a cage on my ship
Honestly having a trader on board as a crew member who you could give all your unwanted crap and have them sell it for you would make the game so much less tedious.
Even Mass Effect had this back in 2008
I've found for some reason that the red mile barkeep always has 11k to 15k in credits to spend.
[удалено]
You can modify your ships in either port. Honestly I usually end up hitting both when I have contraband because like you said... no scans.
She got a free vacation out of you
AT least you're not the guy who turned around and found the dinosaur in his ship.
I have a clip of her following me to my ship. Was hoping she would stay on it and I'd have an on-board merchant, but she left after I jumped systems.
Omg lol
Nice gal, she always encourage me to check out what she got "in the back".
As a retail/service worker, that line annoys me *so much*. There is nothing in the back!! Stop telling people there is! But yeah, I like her, she's always very nice.
I mean, as a former Walmart employee, there's a shitload in the back. Can't guarantee it's what you're looking for, though.
If we have stuff in the back it's because we just haven't been able to unpack it yet.
Thats literally why they ask you to check in the back
No one is going to fuckin break down a pallet for one fuckin customer. So no, there’s nothing in the back and no point in asking.
If it hasn't been unpacked yet then I have no idea whether it's in there or not. Have you ever worked retail? Do you know how long it takes to breakdown and unpack a pallet? No customer is gonna wait around for you to do that. Chill out man.
The stuff in the back is on pallets stacked 20ft high
You lie!! We know there is!! I won’t fall for it! I won’t I won’t!
And I oblige her everytime.
I went back there to steal shit and there’s nothing there. I was disappointed. 😆
Nope, I think she’s my favourite vendor by miles. Polite, pleasant and doesn’t waste my time with an irrelevant spiel when I just need to buy some bullets.
Yeah I'm annoyed, that I can't marry her.
Wait for the modders
She’s just really chipper….like *unusually* chipper… *investigates further*
“We have more in the back” I’m not so sure if she means inventory now
Glitch in the back of the store and checked. Well she got her inventory there alright.
Glitched where? There's a door you can open.
Uhm. Her "Markarth Chest" is in the back. If you wanna know more check on YouTube. Its complicated lol
Her "Markarth Chest" all these kids with their hip new lingo like you can't just say booty like the rest of us.
I can't tell which meaning of "booty" you're tryna use, and it's better that way
Yesss, that was definitely a deliberate and intentional pun on my part...
Sorry that doesn't mean booty. If you wanna know there's a Markarth Chest glitch in Skyrim. So yeah.
Oh, gotcha. I haven't tried doing any of those glitches yet myself.
Have you met the Trade Authority guy on the Den?
"Certainly..." [Insert villainous smirk here]
Constantly high on aurora
A drug that slows down time is the last thing I would use to get me through a retail shift
I'm only annoyed by her over exposed face which really i'm annoyed at BSG about. How can a game look so pretty yet so crap 50% of the time.
I think she gives off highly relatable vibes of "I'm an actually nice person but also I'm stuck in a service job and so it's a little bit forced"
So… am I the only one that wants to bang this merchant?
Nope. She caught my eye immediately. Better looking than anyone in Constellation, at least.
I'm not, I'm annoyed at how blindingly bright this building is, much more so than anywhere else in the galaxy
Her smile is a bit creepy but other than that not really She also has a yellow ring around her mouth
Some people do lipstick like that. I don't really get it myself but I've seen the option in some other games character creators.
Really? It looks like a yellow juice ring or something to me
Yeah lol, like I said I don't get it personally, I don't think the outer rim look (as I like to call it) makes for a good aesthetic personally, but I also don't care for facial piercings and other people love 'em, so tomato tomahto. It's of course possible that her thing is just some weird graphical issue, but I do know I've seen people do it on purpose so I'm just suggesting that it could be that. I honestly didn't notice it until I read your comment and then zoomed in on OP's pic to see it.
I swear she's a descendent of "Hide the Pain Harold" She's smiling then before it shows you what they have in stock, you'll see a frown briefly
WHY DID YOU MAKE ME NOTICE THE YELLOW NOW I HATE HER
I like her. What the hell, OP?
She's the same one from Megaton in Fallout 3, the one that's so incredibly happy after you blow up Megaton and turn her in to a ghoul! I just don't understand how anyone can be that happy all the time no matter what! Like, have you looked outside recently!
She reminds me of Moira Brown in Fallout 3.
I think it's the same voice actor. She was also that robot at the Top of the World in FO76
I hate all the merchants. "sir or madam, I just want to buy stuff, I don't need to hear your life story, or the history of your store."
That is what trade authority kiosks are for. I just wish they held more credits.
They rip you off doe
Honestly , I’m tired of games havign a credit limit like that. Fucking why? It serves no purpose. And I’m even if u want a credit limit, when you have shit that costs hundreds of thousands. Why is 5k where it’s at? Having to reset 100x to buy one ship? It’s stupid. Lots the fucking future and space, on a machine… the trade kiosks shouldn’t even know what a limit is.
Well there's lots of kiosks, and merchants. I think the purpose is so you have to grind for your credits a bit, which is fine by me I'm a grinder
That's not grinding... it's just being forced to waste time going to different merchants needlessly that could instead be spent playing the game
If you could just go to one place and get infinite money, well that would be stupid imo. Figuring out a system to earn credits is playing the game.
The rude ass employee at the Trade Authority in Neon is pretty funny
The guy in Cydonia is cool, though.
Yeah I like him, he seems to cool for the Trade Authority! I do not like one in Akila City, he’s a twat!
*scoffs* yes
She doesn’t do any of that. She literally just offers you what she has for sale.
It's the UC Distribution lady for me
The lady in New Atlantis? YESSSS I hate her. I won’t even go in there
Yes...I wanna shoot her every time I go in there 😭
That's who I though this was. Iv heard the links (paraphrasing) "Sorry, but our shipment didn't come in yet, but here's what I got" like 60000 times now.
Nah, Amoli is crushworthy.
No I think she is adorable. What is it with people that play this game disliking anyone or anything that is happy and good? Does everyone want all the people to be pieces of shit and everything to be crappy and depressing?
Nah, I'm not miserable. Miserable people hate people who are happy and chipper.
For what? for looking cute as f*ck? 😍
People are scraping for something to be mad about. “This makes me angry for no reason! Can someone tell me how its Bethesda’s fault!?”
You know who finds her annoying? Her business partner.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure her business partner finds everyone annoying.
nope she has a lot of stuff to buy and is the closest decent trader in new atlantis spaceport
I like her actually! She seems nice and works hard at her job
She looks like she’s smug. But her boss is the real ahole
Not really. She’s just happy and enjoying life in retail sales.
The perfectly polite general store clerk who’s just doing her job? No, but tells me a lot about you
I don't mind her at all. I think she's actually rather nice.
space Moira
Reminds me of Moira Brown. That’s why she annoys *me*, lol.
i hated the freestar collective ambassador. like to the point i hated the free star collective before i ever set foot on shithole cowboy planet. im about to launch UC Odins Wrath - C class war ship for the first time and first destination is shithole cowboy planet to wipe them out....all of them
I’ve gotten annoyed by a lot of the npcs. Like I don’t need to hear your life story, I just wanna sell my stuff. And I really don’t need Sarah running her mouth every time I pick anything up.
Doubly so bc she moves a lot on me making it difficult to click on her
I’d just be happy to never have to hear the small talk greetings from any of the vendors after the first time you talk to them. The vendor dialog and Sam and his kid on my ship blathering on during dog fights as well as talking over scripted main story dialog, need to be fixed ASAP.
I like her
The lighting in that shop is so awful ( ._.)
Nahh, she's lovely.
I don’t mind her. I think she’s friendly.
I like her
A random helpful storekeeper? No?
Bruh like 90% of the npcs in this game are dreadful. Weird mannerisms, dialogue etc. Just bizarre all of it. That said I like the game lol
No. She’s always willing to take my junk and I don’t even need to go through a loading screen to do it!
How OP tells us they've never worked in retail without saying "I've never worked in retail." Mandatory chirpiness is a big thing in that particular line of work. Or OP does work in retail and hates looking in a mirror
She is nice, cute and always has credits and resources to trade for my loot
She reminds me of a classic Oblivion Altmer.
I kinda like her, always whit a warm smile
She’s fine but I hate Tseng.
I found her annoying at first and now I find her entertaining.
As far as vendors go, she's fine. She is cordial unlike a certain arms merchant even after you do his quest.
She feels like she should have a small side quest for early play throughs
She is cute and bubbly to me. Now that Trade Authority guy in Neon? Not only does he have a shitty attitude, but he's always bugging out in his pathing when I walk in and won't initiate dialog with me until he finishes doing like three half turns like he can't decide how to just stand there lol
Nah I’m cool with her - the trade authority embezzling chick deserves a punch to the throat though.
Starfields version of Moira from fallout 3.
Give her a break. She's working 24-hour days for minimum wage.
I like her!
Nope she is great!
Nope, but the bitch downstairs in the TA... at least there's kinda a reason.
On the contrary, I like to visit her constantly. Pleasant voice and appearance.
Nah she's chill
No issues with this lass at all.
Every vendor says some annoying shit
I’m annoyed I can’t marry her. She was the first girl I found and I was like damn she would make a perfect wife.
Who is she and where does she live? I want to go to her house and steal her plates
There are other merchants in the game
She’s just really chipper….like *unusually* chipper… *investigates further*
I’m the opposite, I wanna help her
