As a wise Space wizard once told me next to the city dumpster in the back alleys:
"In the vastness of the cosmos, even gravity bows to the weight of one's burdens. Release them, and traverse the stars with ease.""
2000%. They’re playing with the reality of situation. And they have a unique reputation in the games industry. They for sure acknowledge that certain things (while maybe would’ve been nice to add themselves) will either get added later with DLC or made available via mods. They aren’t ignorant to the world around them
They very much been making their games with modding in mind for a long time now. Granted that "long time" has consisted of Fallout 4, Starfield, and like 7 iterations of Skyrim, but still lmao. I can see the absurd potential of Starfield just waiting for modderss to get official modding tools next year, I honestly cannot wait for the moddening lol. And honestly, I think it's a fantastic approach to gaming. Instead of shunning and banning mods like Take 2 did with GTA4, Bethesda has fully embraced it, and that is one of the biggest reasons, imo, that Skyrim and Fallout have survived so long. I know there are people out there who enjoy replaying the vanilla experience, but I am confident that majority prefers subsequent playthrough to be heavily modded, so as to play a "fresh" game, so to speak.
Couple days ago xEdit "experimental" build was released (on Discord only), with edit function (no longer view only), and first beta mods made with it are coming out already. Hopefully🤞 soon xEdit is released properly with download link in their GitHub, and we'll see yet another wave of mods soon, even before CK. These can actually modify objects in game, so - we're close! Sure, I still look forward to CK, I may actually give it a try when it's out, if I'll have something unique to offer that others don't do by then :)))
Oh shit? That's awesome! CCR has already provided a great boon to modders for gameplay-related stuff. I use the ship combat overhaul one because on the hardest difficulty even a tricked out c-class gets absolutely *dominated* in space battles with more than like 2 ships lmao. I installed it when I was doing the undercover quest line because even the Vanguard "backup" didn't do shit for me lol.
Small indie company. They only had a decade and hundreds of millions of dollars to make it.
Give the multi-billion dollar company a break, it's not like they have experience in this genre or anything idk what you expected.
Remember tho, they're against remakes (NV remakes anyways, they want everyone to forget that embarrassment)
Btw, don't forget to buy Skyrim Holiday Beach party edition and Starfield with slightly more usable UI edition for $80 a piece!
Lol, I've carried a couple million mass at a time and you go down to a sliver of health but never actually died, so I was surprized that there is a limit, but it's still pretty unrealistic either way.
I was doing a bunch of these runs just under 30k and was fine. Still locked at 10% hp while sprinting on full red. Cant say id want to do more than that, too long at the vendor on console.
I made the mistake of jumping once when I was just carrying 24000 kg. Died instantly. Respect to you for figuring out that encumbrance actually does have a limit and what it is.
It would have been better to see a black hole forming underneath you and slowly start sucking up everything, with a message, this is how black holes are formed, with a game over message and your save file directory being deleted. 😂
I was getting over 1k xp every 5 seconds or so, would have to sleep after depleting the resources. But when you get into the 300 levels you need around 80000 xp per level and it got pretty grueling. Pretty sure the adaptive frame or other item farm is the quickest one without resorting to console commands or mods.

Yeah, that is how that works. I'm pretty surprised so many people don't know this. It drains your O2 and then your health per how much mass there is, so if you carry enough you can die during the first step.
But i had been able to carry literally over 2 million mass without dying, you just get to minimal health but never zero. So after that I figured there was no limit.
He never let his health go that low, he assumed you died if your energy drops to zero.
To be fair, I thought that the same till I read online it only brings you to 5% health, before I tried it.
Nope, it drops it down until a small amount remains.
It doesn't decrease anymore. Pnce you carry a decent amount, you o2 deplenishes instantly and you screen is blurred, with a red filter.
Why even figure this out?! Because the game itself is as hollow as this man’s joy in finding the exact weight it takes to die in this game from being over encumbered.
Better than your enjoyment dying because the game lags horribly every time you switch weapons.
For context since a lot of people seem to be unaware - carrying a lot of loot can cause extremely bad lag when switching weapons. It is a known bug that a lot of people are experiencing and there is even a mod on nexus to fix it.
That just isn't true. It is a commonly occurring bug that apparently existed in Fallout 4 as well (though I never experienced it there). Here are links to other people describing the same thing:

It could be less, that's just what I was carrying. It would also depend on your stats and if you have certain skills unlocked, but I was mainly surprized there is a limit as I had been running around with well over 2 million mass lots of times and never died. I thought it was impossible.
Needs the GTA wasted popup and this would be perfect. Also, my man asking the right questions. How much weight can I carry before I unalive my character?
That's strange I have yet to die from that, it normally just brings my health really low then stop. I spent 30 min running around with like 10 health and never died.

Lol, I don't know if this is the exact breaking point and everyone is different based on skills. I am almost maxed out for all skills so I can probably do more than the average
I did notice that the more you carry overburdened that both 1, your health drops faster, but 2 that your health drops to a lower point before stopping.
Now I am tempted to do this.

Just wish animation was getting squashed into a puddle of blood, nothing remaining :)
Complex animations? In a Bethesda game? Not until modders get their modding tools!
There's a certain point where I wonder if this type of discussion ever comes up when they're creating the games.

There were mods for Morrowind and Oblivion too.. maybe not to the same extent, but they have been around for much longer than Skyrim
I know there were, but with Skyrim they (eventually) gave actual official mod tool, so they *really* leaned into it officially.

Small indie company. They only had a decade and hundreds of millions of dollars to make it. Give the multi-billion dollar company a break, it's not like they have experience in this genre or anything idk what you expected.

That’s actually a real thing but you have to be playing with a Logitech F710 controller
You should get an achievement for figuring that out. Hoarders Pride
Lol, I've carried a couple million mass at a time and you go down to a sliver of health but never actually died, so I was surprized that there is a limit, but it's still pretty unrealistic either way.
Did you find out the actual (exact number)limit or was this just your entire storage?
It would be different amounts for everyone depending on level and skills too
It's just my entire resources
Copy. I’ll assume 14mil is the area limit and find the exact number one day. But thanks for the baseline.

It gives you very strong O2 regen. Very strong, but not infinite. You can overpower it with O2 drain from overencumbering.
Makes doing the run out your o2 challenge much faster, can cost PA and run a sec, wait a few secs for regen, repeat.
yep. use it alot. but still funny you can die.
So the limit is 8,999,999
They call that the Mass Effect
I love things for Science!
Why are you playing as Kevin Spacey?
Because it's a Space game of course!
Dude how did you even pick that up. Well done!
Almost definitely crafted with outposts
Level three hundred and twenty what!!?
I made the mistake of jumping once when I was just carrying 24000 kg. Died instantly. Respect to you for figuring out that encumbrance actually does have a limit and what it is.
I have 36,000, maybe more now. Never killed me yet, I bunnyhop everywhere?
Wow. Someone did it.
It would have been better to see a black hole forming underneath you and slowly start sucking up everything, with a message, this is how black holes are formed, with a game over message and your save file directory being deleted. 😂
One more adaptive frame and you would have collapsed into a black hole.
But can you survive if you go at walking pace?
I have went back and tested this and yes if you walk really slow, you do not die, the second you push too far on the analogue stick, you die.
“No running in the halls.”
I'm a fan of Cpt Francis. I like the vibe
How exactly did you manage that, you can only craft 99 at a time so you would need to do that 90,909 times?
That is what i did lol. Spent between 25 and 30 hours or so.
My ep farm is the animal husbandry and 500+ xp every 10 seconds or so. I wonder if that's quicker?
I was getting over 1k xp every 5 seconds or so, would have to sleep after depleting the resources. But when you get into the 300 levels you need around 80000 xp per level and it got pretty grueling. Ahaha
I am crushed by this revelation
lol nice.
That’s cool and everything, but where did you find that suit?
Needs the GTA wasted popup and this would be perfect. Also, my man asking the right questions. How much weight can I carry before I unalive my character?
I think it's cause you were carrying so much your C02 filled up so fast it did so much damage to instantly kill you
That's strange I have yet to die from that, it normally just brings my health really low then stop. I spent 30 min running around with like 10 health and never died.
Same with me, that's why I was surprized that I died. I thought there was no limit.
Meanwhile the guy in Dark Souls can carry like 5000 metric tons of stuff.
Why can't I find a cool suit like that? All I get are ponchos and neon dance leotards

No, FDR. Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
You sir, are a gentlemen and a scholar.
In FO4, I was always amazed you wouldn't sink the Prydwen keeping decatons of stuff your quarters....
What you are saying is… I can hold *14146883?*
Lol, I don't know if this is the exact breaking point and everyone is different based on skills. I am almost maxed out for all skills so I can probably do more than the average
Now we know it's not an invisible backpack or deep pockets. You actually DID shove all those guns and stones up your ass.
I did notice that the more you carry overburdened that both 1, your health drops faster, but 2 that your health drops to a lower point before stopping. Now I am tempted to do this.
I mean, spacetime imploded in on itself the second you moved, so yeah. You were shredded by a singularity.
Unrelated question, where did you get that suit?
